The following will describe how to unlock the sx56 (Siemens AT&T PPC - A.30.09 Eng, 01/01/04, A.33.02, 1.3.3) and downgrade version 5.22 of the bootloader to 5.15 to avoid the keycheck.
Requirements:
Card Reader
1x64Mb+ card
XDArit (XDA ROM Image Tool V1.2)
bootloader_v5_15.nb0
Cooked ROM image to use as a replacement.
Backup the existing bootloader and operating system using card reader

if the unit is currently SIM locked (if this is left out, you will have to manually transfer the file over after the cooked ROM is loaded).
5) Click the 'Build ROM now' button and when complete, click on the 'Download ROM' button to store
the newly cooked ROM on your harddrive.
6) Run XDA ROM Image Tool V1.02
7) Select SD Card from the dropdown
8) Choose 'Write to SD card'

and do a hard reset (hold on/off key then press the soft-reset button).
It will automatically be detected as an application ROM and hit the Action key
to change update the operating system.
When this update is complete, a hard reset will boot the new operating system.
Running the Programs|Phone|XDAUnlock file will remove the SIM Lock...after this time, the original
ROM/bootloader could be restored as desired.
This is a compliation of information found on this site into one central post...and I would like to pass on a huge THANKS to the group as the procedure described above allows me to remove the SIM Lock originally set by AT&T and easily boot load cooked ROM's.
Cheers.
Brilliantly described, foolproof step by step guide. Maybe the admins will make this a sticky.
will this work with WM2003? or do i need to downgrade to PPC2002?
can't wait to unlock my SX56.

John Doehead; thank you so much for the tremendous effort done in this thread. I really appreciate putting things on a step by step method. I know how time consuming it might be. Thank you once more.

The one part I didn't understand was, why was the second step ("Create a V5.15 Boot Loader to allow boot load functionality and avoid key checking in V5.17+ ") needed?

I ALSO FACE THE SAME PROBLEM AS SPRINT :
WHEN I TRY TO LOAD THE BOOTLOADER 5.15 TO SD CARD USING CARD READER AND XDArit it says:

how to solve this problem or is there any other method to unlock this wallaby:

Now I have done everything in the instructions. but I cant get this sim unlocked. I have tried the, XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe, the ,XDArit1.exe, XDAunlock, I have used prebuilt roms, stripped down roms, fullyloaded roms. Nothing is unlocking this phone.......
Is it possible that my radio version is stopping me from unlocking this sim?
What can I do to down grade the radio to...4.x.x.x.?
Please help

I am the proud owner of a used Y-Mobile MDA. I am attempting to unlock it with all the instructions I have seen here so far, but I am not being successful.
XDATools enabled me to downgrade the OS easily enough, but I can't seem to get the old XDArit to work, as it gives me the following the error when attempting to write to SD card:
"failed to open device \\.\PhysicalDrive 13"
this also happens sporadically when attempting to read from a SD card.
I also have had problems with downgrading the radio stack, as instructed in one of the posts. It goes to about 4% and then says "upgrade failed. Please soft restart your device." I can't seem to figure it out and would like some further instructions on how to stop this....
please don't insult me as I am not a programmer or a spend all my time unlocking cell phones. I just want some help.

Ok I upgraded my T-Mobile phone to 4.00.05. Although I want to upgrade myself to the TMO 4.00.10 version. I am trying to do so but it installation program is not allowing me to do so. When I try installing, I get an error:

Can some one here help me out? Thanks!
This is weird...
Ok I guess when I upgraded my PPC to OS 2003 that it changed my model number from B to A...how to I get it back to B again? I am in the states and am using the T-Mobile. The phone works and can use the GPRS so the phone is a 900/1900 so from what I read in these forums, the phone model should be a B
Don't worry about A or B. Whether it's A or B is stored in the ROM, and thus is changes when you use a ROM meant for the other type of phone.
However, the only 900/1900 vs. 900/1800 dependent stuff is in the RSU (Radio Software Upgrade), so there's no problem using a ROM, whether it says PW10A or PW10B.
so how can I upgrade to the new PPC2003 software for T-Mobile? The it is telling me I have the wrong ROM version. So I am assuming it is checking the Model number.
By using the 'SD Card' or 'Bootloader' Method!

Ok not to be stupid. I tried my hardest and searched and read all over the site and I think I can handle this. I was able to back up my ROM. But now I am having trouble copying the new TMObile 2003 ROM to the SD. Where do I find the nb1 file? THe only file I see is the nbf file. If I try to write to the SD I get the message, failed to open device. \\.\ Physical Drive6 What am I doing wrong? I am able to write and remove anything on the SD so the SD isn't broken.
Getting desperate...
Can someone please help me in this situation. I can't seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. Everyone seems to be able to upgrade to the TMobile 2003 upgrade and I can't, even though I have the T-Mobile ppc phone. I performed a back up of my current ROM, which is the XDA-developers-SER-v12.exe. When I try to run the TMobile PPC2003 upgrade, it won't let me because it says that I have the wrong model. At least that is what I assume since it reports that I have an A device instead of a B device. Anyway, it was suggested that I can still upgrade to the 2003 upgrade by using my SD card. So I went out and bought an SD card and SD reader. I was able to back up the ROM and download it to the HD. But I can't seem to figure out how to get the nbf file to the SD. I keep on getting an error with the XDArit program.
I need help in one of two ways:
1. How do I change me model number?
or
2. How do I get the ROM onto my SD card?
THanks!
Ok here you go!
1. Place XDArit and the nk.nb1 or nk.nbf file in the same folder and start XDArit.
2. Select your SD card (disk drive) from the drop down menu.
3. Select Write to SD
Notice that the Windows CE box is already checked so just click the browse button at the end of that window.
4. Select your (nk.nb1 or nk.nbf) image and then Open
Notice by default XDArit will open looking for a *.nb1 file but if you’re going to use a .nbf file you’ll have to manually change the “Files of Type” to *.nbf
Notice that nk.nbo / nk.nbo was automatically added as your boot-loader and its check box is unchecked so leave it that way and click OK. XDArit should start writing to the card.
When XDArit has finished writing the image put the SD-card into the XDA and hold the power button and soft reset. You’ll be taken to the below screen:
SD DOWNLOAD
Card Type:
CE OS & BOOT
Press action to Download
Or
Press REC to Exit
Press action to download and it will start the download/restore from the SD card.
Follow the on screen instructions once its "Completed" which will consist of a "Soft Boot/Reset".
BTW the above is based on using XDArit version 1.0 which can be download from the software section at:
http://www.yorch.net or do a such for in this forum.

Hi,
I have 4.00.021 on my Asian XDA and decided T-Mobile is not good for me. I now have the well documented can't go back issue and guess what, my bootloader is 5.17 to make the insult even bigger... I tried the fix broken bootloader but get the following error : ... As you will notice I put the tool in c:\binaries as the long directory names were attributed to this problem earlier on. Any idea how I can overcome this riddle? Thanks a zillion in advance.
C:\binaries>pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0

search and read old threads!
Thanks for your friendly reply. I did exactly as you told reviewed many threads and am none the wiser. The new fix broken bootloader tool gives me the error mentioned below and I could not see a resolution to that. I will try the old XDAwrit + SD Card reader option next but comparatively thats a very risk option as I understand it and hence my reoluctance.
If you know how to make fix broken bootloader work please spare me with a part of your wisdom and just tell me how. Thanks a lot for your help.
read this link http://www.xda-developers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2928
if you still cannot make it work, send to me, I will fix it for you
Thanks for your offer for help. I must be the miggest idiot on this forum. I still can't make it work... I read & read & read the link you gave me but I'm still none the wiser. Few issues I am stuck with :
In the thread you mention I see the reference to 'pnewbootloader bl515.nb0'
I do not have bl515.nb0 but I have bootloader_v5_15.nb0 from Jeff's tools and when I use this file I get the following error. My ActiveStink is working.
H:\build>pnewbootloader bootloader_v5_15.nb0
Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect
Then I want to use the wallaby patch loader option so I refer to the following link but this link is not live any more.
updated version of wallaby patch loader at http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/download/wbt-1.5.tar.gz
What should be my next step? Should I try to fix whatevers wrong with the pnewbootloader or should I hunt down the wallaby patch loader option....
Totally confused. Thanks a lot for your help. Regards
my latest tools don't use 'pput' anymore, so you will encounter less problems
if you use the newest from http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/xda/tools.html
Got it and tried it. Results are the same :
C:\binaries\build>pnewbootloader.exe bootloader_v5_15.nb0
Copying C:\binaries\build\itsutils.dll to WCE:\windows\itsutils.dll
Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect
Do you think this has anything to do with the protection T-Mobile builds into their ROMs? To re-iterate I have the 4.00.021 on.
Any other ideas? Thanks a lot for all your help. Regards.
Kerem

Thanks to the help from friends on this site my problem is resolved. If you have a SD card reader/writer you can use the older version of XDArit to write the Wallaby patch and then bring your bootloader version to 5.15.
good luck.

Where can I find the bootloader 5.15? I have downloaded the file "wallaby-patch-tool.nb2"
What should I do now?

Before you start:
Suggest that you back up PIM data with ActiveSync. Copy any other files you need to an
SD card or desktop/laptop computer. Try not to do a full backup and restore that later
as it will usually mess up the XDA. Re-installing your apps is the best way since PPC2002
and WM2003 are different.
Hardware that you need:
1. O2 XDA smartphone (obviously!)
2. Sync cradle
3. Internal/External SD card reader
4. Spare SD card (preferably 2)
Software you need to download:
1. Get cooked ROM or any other ROM. ROMkitchens at http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org
2. Get XDAtools from http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/XDA/XDAtools-Jeff.exe
3. Get bootloader fix tools from http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/download/bootloaderfix.zip
4. Get Wallaby patchloader fix from http://xda-developers.com/~itsme/download/wbt-1.5.tar.gz
5. Get XDArit v1.2 tool from http://xda-developers.com/XDArit/XDArit.exe
6. Get XDArit v1.0 tool from http://givemebeer.com:8080/warez/XDA/xdarit.exe
7. Get Wallaby Patch file from http://xda-developers.com/XDArit/wallaby-patch-tool.nb2
** For XDA with Wallaby Bootloader V6.22, I only need items 1,2,4 and 5.
Method 1:
1. Install XDAtools.
2. Start XDAtools and select the OSImageTool.
3. Backup your present ROM. Select Source and Device Memory (current ROM). For destination,
press the [...] button and select a place to store the file. Press Copy. Keep the file
created in a safe place.
4. Next, select Source as the ROM file you downloaded or cooked. Select Destination as
Device Memory (via Programme A). Click Copy.
5. Follow on-screen instructions.
Method 2:
1. Extract wallabypatch-sd.nb2 from wbt-1.5.tar.gz in item 4.
2. Using XDArit v1.0, choose Write to SD card and tick Diagnostics and select the file
wallabypatch-sd.nb2 and tick the header of 1k. Click OK to write.
3. Insert card into XDA and choose No when prompted to format card.
4. While pressing power button, press the soft reset button. Device will boot and display

Changing bootloaders.
donpkong,
nice to see a fellow m'sian here.
Anyways, i'm currently on 6.22, downgraded my WM2003 to PPC2002, because of poor battery life and a DEAD vibrator after upgrading.
I"m trying to downgrade my 6.22 to a 5.15 because I have an inkling it's the root of the problems - IE vibrator not working.
Pnewbootloader doesn't work for me - it just says "Unable to find flash info offset, cannot disable bootloader writeprotect" so i guess the only hope is via SD-flashing.
Would like to get a few things clear here.. in a nutshell, what I have to do is :
1) Create Wallaby-diagnostics card
2) Create ROM image + 5.15 bootloader onto another SD card using XDArit options
then
1) Load up with patched diagnostics card (Wallaby)
2) Backup ROM + Bootloader (optional)
3) Select Restore SD
4) Insert SD, restore OS + Bootloader
Is there anything I missed out? I'm desperately wanting my vibration back because it's annoying to miss calls during meetings and stuff like that.
Thanks!
i did not have to downgrade from 6.22 to 5.15 and my vibrator works fine on WM2003. i do not know how to downgrade bootloader or have the need to do so.
What do i got to do if my xda lose bootloader.
Press and hold Power Button then Press Reset. Nothing appear.
@kavin
the same happened to my XDAII.
I would say, once you lose the bootloader and you, probably, don't want to play with JTAG, you can only send it to repair service...
buzz
Thank buzz_lightyear for reply.
But I can't send it because I'm living VietNam.
I give it to someone but they said that Nothing can do.
Oh....my god! I'll lost my xda...>>
Thanks donpkong
This is the amazing thread. Solve my problem that I have looked for solution for a long time. Thanks!!!

ROM flashing HowTO for XDA1
Compiled from personal experience after following many different topics in the forums
of http://www.xda-developers.com
XDA details before flashing
Wallaby Bootloader V6.22
GPRS4.2132S54
3.20.06 ENG
07/30/03
4.21.01
32S54
PW10A1
Before you start:
Suggest that you back up PIM data with ActiveSync. Copy any other files you need to an
SD card or desktop/laptop computer. Try not to do a full backup and restore that later
as it will usually mess up the XDA. Re-installing your apps is the best way since PPC2002
and WM2003 are different.
Hardware that you need:
1. O2 XDA smartphone (obviously!)
2. Sync cradle
3. Internal/External SD card reader
4. Spare SD card (preferably 2)
Software you need to download:
1. Get cooked ROM or any other ROM. ROMkitchens at http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org
2. Get XDAtools from http://cuba.calyx.nl/~jsummers/XDA/XDAtools-Jeff.exe
3. Get bootloader fix tools from http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/download/bootloaderfix.zip
4. Get Wallaby patchloader fix from http://xda-developers.com/~itsme/download/wbt-1.5.tar.gz
5. Get XDArit v1.2 tool from http://xda-developers.com/XDArit/XDArit.exe
6. Get XDArit v1.0 tool from http://givemebeer.com:8080/warez/XDA/xdarit.exe
7. Get Wallaby Patch file from http://xda-developers.com/XDArit/wallaby-patch-tool.nb2
** For XDA with Wallaby Bootloader V6.22, I only need items 1,2,4 and 5.
Method 1:
1. Install XDAtools.
2. Start XDAtools and select the OSImageTool.
3. Backup your present ROM. Select Source and Device Memory (current ROM). For destination,
press the [...] button and select a place to store the file. Press Copy. Keep the file
created in a safe place.
4. Next, select Source as the ROM file you downloaded or cooked. Select Destination as
Device Memory (via Programme A). Click Copy.
5. Follow on-screen instructions.
Method 2:
1. Extract wallabypatch-sd.nb2 from wbt-1.5.tar.gz in item 4.
2. Using XDArit v1.0, choose Write to SD card and tick Diagnostics and select the file
wallabypatch-sd.nb2 and tick the header of 1k. Click OK to write.
3. Insert card into XDA and choose No when prompted to format card.
4. While pressing power button, press the soft reset button. Device will boot and display

1. Software tested to work on Windows 2000. Reported to work in XP as well. Windows 98
is problematic.
2. Good place to get OS ROMs and Radio Stack ROM http://www.yorch.net/
3. When upgrading to WM2003 using the AT&T ROM 4.01.16, you will not be able to re-flash
the ROM again using XDAtools. You will need to use the SD card method.

If i want to upgrade my wallaby i get an error message in the communications procedure. I have downloaded my ROM from lumpy's kitchen and ive tried to upgrade it many times right now.
Can anyone give me an advise how i could hardflash the ROM of my device?
I think you get an communication error when trying to flash via ActiveSync.
You have to flash via bootloader....
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wallaby
Here you get furthe rinformation about how to do it....
HTH
Stefan
Nothing yet
Ive tried to Bootload te rom, but after the message "connect your USB now" the device does not react anymore.
I have tried to run the application rom but this says that active sync does not recognize a device.
What should i do next?
Thanks for the quick respond!!
Even if i make a bacup to SD this doesnt work. There no explaination how to hard flash the device! Can you give me an advise???
What have you done exatcly, and where is the problem?
It's not really clear for me.
For Flashing via SD-Card there is no USB connection necessary....
STefan
I have tried to flash with the bootloader. When i push on the on/off putton and do soft reset i see the question "connect to USB now". If i connect and i start the rom nothing happens.
Afterwards i have tried to put the rom on my SD card. I have tried to do this OSimagetools. The pc does recognize the SD card in my wallaby. I also dont have a cardreader.
Is there a way to flash my wallaby in the bootloader-mode with the USB connection?
What do i have to do for it?
Thanks
Strange.
You should see device displays a background that consists of four equally sized vertical bars, colored (from top to bottom) white, red, green and blue. On top of this, it says:
WALLABY
Bootloader
V5.14
WAIT
After a few seconds, the WAIT is replaced by GSM OK. Both messages are in the blue bar, but have a white background.
What do you get?
What is labeld on your rear sticker of the device? (modell) ?
Stefan
Its model: PW10A1
SN: HT220cc15300
PN: 99HJ00007-00
Step 1)I have seen the horizontal bars. And its version 5.18. Ive also seen the "GSM OK"- notification.
Step1a)If i connect it afterwards to my USB nothing happens. The computer does not recognize the Wallaby.
Step2) If i hold the On/Off button i get the message "Connect to USB now" If i do this, activesync does recognize my device and i cannot install the ROM.
Step3) after step 1 i press the contacts button and i see 6 ways to backup my rom or GSM. I have backedup my GSM and ROM to SD. But this has no use for me.
Greetz,
Ok. Now I see.....
First of all, you have an totaly unknown Bootloader (5.18) to me, so i hope all steps will work....
You require a SD-Card with >= 64 MB
XDATools ftp://[email protected]/Wallaby/Tools/XDATools.zip
Your downloaded ROM from my kitchen
step1) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step2) Copy all your data of your sd-Card to your local PC otherwise all data on it will be gone
step3) Enter bootloader of your device by pressing On/Off and doing a softreset
step4) After the Message GSM OK press the Contact Button of your device
step5) Navigate with the pad to "CE+BOOT TO SD"
step6) Confirm this with the Action Key (Press the middle of the Navigate-Pad)
step7) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step8) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
If No -> Problem
If Yes -> continue
step9) Boot your XDA up normal and connect via active sync (guest partnership is ok)
step10) Install XDATools on your PC
step11) in a dos -box (cmd) go to the directoy where osimagetool is located
step12) enter command: "osimagetool -r xdasdslot -w original.nbf"
step13) enter command: "osimagetool --register"
step14) extract the downloaded ROM using winzip
step15) Run osimagetool
step16) Select the nbf-file in the english-folder of the extracted lROM as source and XDASlot as destination
step17) After finishing enter again bootloader by holding On/Off and doing a soft reset
step18) Bootloader should tell you something tah OS is detected on your SD-Card
step19) Press Action Key to install the ROM
step20) After finishing do a hard reset
step21) Now your ROM should be installed on your device.
step22) Locate the created file original.nbf and compress it using winzip
step23) Upload the compressed file to ftp://xdaupload:[email protected]/Wallaby/Uploads
step24) Enjoy your new ROM
That should be alll .....

Stefan
Thanks, But when i extract the rom to a folder, OS Imagetools cannot find the nbf-file. There is no nbf-file in the extracter-rom-folder. I can only find an nb-file.
There is a file called "NK" which says that its an NBF-file(properties). The file is 32MB large. I have tried to select this file (step 16), but the file is not being recognized. Even if i change the extension of the filename. The OSimage does not support this file.
I Have tried this with 3 ROM's : 2003 SE, 2003 and 2002 neither of them contain the nbf-file in the english folder.
Do you have an advice? I think i am very close right now!!
Thanks,
I have sucseeded to install 2002, but 2003 SE wont be recognized. It says its an usupported file.
Has this anyting to do with the fact that i renamed the file? If so can you tell me how to change the file back??
I have downgraded my wallaby to PPC 2002 right now.
Thanks Lumpi!!
WM2003SE couls only be installed via Exe-File. It can not be flashed with the osimagetool.
Stefan
Help,
Is there a way to get the OS and boot img for my o2 XDA to put on my SD card so i can recover it?
I'm stuck on the boot-loader screen (version 5.22) i can not use active sync as it comes up as unrecognized device, im at my wits end, i just want to get my phone working again. is there any place i can get the O2 ROM file from? or anything that can be done, or do i have a useless brick now?
i tried upgrading with the developers ROM using the auto install, it got to the "it will take 5 mins to upgrade" screen then active sync lost connection, there was nothing showing in the progress bar, when i tried to restart, active sync could not connect. now im stuck with the boot-loader menu after a soft reset.
Sorry for the double post,
Right sorted the problem out, got a cooked ROM from a different site as no link i clicked on here was still active.
I found out that if you Format the SD card to Fat32 when in bootloader it doesn't recognize the ROM, so a format to just FAT under windows XP sorted it out, and now I'm back up and running again, though now i cant get my phone unlocked to Vodafone as the XDAunlock returns "error getting code" message. here are my Device info
Rom version 3.17.03
Radio version 4.21.X1
Protcal version 32S54
problem resolved by updating the Radio stack to 6.24 (placing the files onto the device and upgrading from there) once that had done, i had no signal, so downgraded it back to 4.21 and now I'm fully functional
Where did you get the ROM?
I have a similar problem with an XDA which failed whilst being flashed via active sync and now will not start apart from via bootloader. Where did you get the ROM that you mention please?
Thanks
Geezer
use this ROM from http://www.romkitchen.de/ choose one that u will use to cook, PC2002 or WM2003/SE, (WM2003SE cannot use SD Card, only can use activesyn) then downgrade bootloader from v5.22 to v5.15,
using MMC (flash SD) continue to special rom 1.2, Go to the bootloader utilities. Hit Contacts button and you'll get the boot loader option stuff. If the bootloader utilities you get to right away takes you to a menu with things like Boot+CE-->SD then you don't have to worry about hitting the contacts button. You only need Contacts button if when you get to the bootloader screen you see nothing more than some nice colors, the bootloader version and "GSM OK" message.
Take the Boot+CE-->SD option to back everything up. This will take a few minutes.
Once it's done pull the SD out ofthe ppcpe and stick it into your SD card reader. Bring up XDArit and chose your removeable device.
If you have more than one MMC slot select the different ones until you get one that says 'Wallaby' in the hex codes at the bottom of the XDArit screen. You'll be writing out two files, the first is the NB0 file (which is the bootloader) and the second is the NB1 file (which is the OS or ROM). Name these something like original.nb0 and 1.
Wipe the SD card (format FAT). Stick the SD card back into the pda and soft reset, then cradle it.
Go to a DOS prompt and CD to where you put 'pnewbootflash_40116.exe.' Type 'pnewbootflash_40116 nbl515.nb0' to write the Wallaby 5.15 boot loader to the device. If when you downloaded the 5.15 bootloader you called it something else (like 'wallaby_boot_loader_V5.15.nb0' you should of course use that name instead!
The output looks like this:
D:\XDAtools\binaries>pnewbootloader_40116 bl515.nb0

Have you really read this sticky thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=406721 before flashing ?
Have you used "search" function with f.e. "stuck in bootloader" before posting ?
If not, please do and you'll find very useful solutions
i have read the theads over and over again and finally worked out mtty and worked out my phone is
elf0300
tmob050
it's still in tri colour mode yet i cant find a rom for it...
i tried the nbh file flashing to the memory card
but no luck....

Do you know if you have Elf or Elfin?
It is essential for flashing original Rom Elf: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2045325&postcount=2
Elfin: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2045051&postcount=1
i haave an elf (p3450) well thats what it says on my box
i cant find the orginal rom for this and i'm totally stuck
any help is greatrully recived
also i have tried CID unlocking it so i can put custom roms on it but my computer wont active sync when the phone is connected through the USB port...
Also, what did you do to get your phone stuck in bootloader in the first place?
my brother did it to my phone before i'd even had chance to use it , and i don't know what he did.....sorry x
Try this and follow the instructions exactly http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=347700 and report pls
i tried this yesterday at first when i pressed enter i didnt get >cmd (which is what happening now)
then when i do get it eventually after many tries it sasys
cmd55 or something failed
and stays on 0% on a gray screen
sorry if i sound stupiud.
Ok
First you connect your device, then right click on active sync icon on your computer, chose connection settings and change according to the instructions then continue with mtty.exe
i have done this
when i press enter i dont get anything come up....
yesterday i managed to get it up though and just stayed gray screen at 0%
Try again a few times making sure you didn't overlook any detail.
I just found this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=3395787&postcount=155 possibly mtty version doesn't work
2- Another possibility is unbricker rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=446242
3- gold card method (the links are dead so you should pm Dsixda)
Flash from the SD card:
ELF0IMG.nbh on a FAT32 filesystem, complete flash takes about 30 minutes, so check your battery or connect to charger before the flashing process starts.
1. Format microSD card from your computer.
2. Extract the .NBH file from your prefered ROM upgrade: In windows use winrar (right click) to extract the contents of the exe file. In Linux / MacOS use cabextract.
3. Rename the .NBH file to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the root folder of your microSD card.
4. With microSD card inserted in the phone, start the bootloader (the bootloader is invoked by hold down the camera button and reset device with the stylus).
5. Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button (or the volume slider down).
6. Flashing might hang after some time but this is normal. Just wait.
Will try now and keep u updated
manny thanks x
Follow the instructions until you get cmd only, then return to the tutorial to continue
Good luck
Just an update
i downloaded the nbh file you sugested and tried both
1) flashing from the SD card by renaming file - when i do this is says checking sd contents then goes back to my bootlooder screen
2) running the romupdateutility.exe with the nbh file in the same folder it goes through then i get error 294 incorrect vender
i am unable to pm Dsixda about the gold card
i have no idea what else to try
ps: when running mtty i still get a gray screen then the bootloader screen.
Sorry to hear this, I'm out of ideas. Just some details not to miss:
try a hard reset
writing "ELF0IMG.nbh" (elf zero img and not elf o img)
google for mtty and download a few versions
Wait for an answer from Dsixda for gold card if you can't find your original rom
Creating your GoldCard
I don't remember well the procedure but you can try the following:
If you have access to a working pda or a working GPS device - PNA which is powered by WM (even modified) then you have to follow these steps:
Download this package and save it in your C:\ drive.
Run it.
(it will extract all the necessary files in C:\itsutilsbin (folder) and it will start the setup of Perl)
When the Perl - installation is finished run Perl Package Manager from Windows Start Menu.
Add repositories.
Name: itsme
Location: http://www.xs4all.nl/~itsme/projects/perl/ppm
Name: theoryx
Location: http://theoryx5.uwinnipeg.ca/ppms/package.xml
(HowTo: run Preferences from the Perl Package Manager menu and switch to the repository tab)
After database synchronization install these packages:
Crypt-DES
XdaDevelopers-NbfUtils
(HowTo: at the main window of Perl Package manager find those packages, mark them for install (the icon with green plus, next to the search bar) and run marked action(green arrow icon))
Format the sd card(FAT32) and insert it in a working pda.
Connect the working pda to the pc , wait to sync and run psdread.bat from C:\itsutilsbin.
Find an official rom from here with a ModelID which matches your device's one
Example: If your pda is an Elfin and you have ModelID ELF030000 then get the below rom from that thread.
RUU_Elfin_TMO_NL_2.26.114.52_4.1.13.52_03.08.90_BL UE_Ship.exe (T-MOBILE)
Device: ELF030000
CID: T-MOB003
Version: 2.26.114.3
Language: NLD
Click to collapse
Extract the RUU_Signed.nbh, rename it to ELF0IMG.nbh and copy it to the sd card.
Fully charge your battery, insert the sd card to your pda, enter bootloader and flash from memory card
(Confirm flashing on screen by pressing the power button (or the volume down button)).
If everything went ok then you can use a HardSPL or a USPL to CID Unlock your phone and update the rom with one of your choice.
If you don't have a working pda use a card reader - Ubuntu (even from a LiveCD) and QMAT are required
Regards!
i don't have a working pda to use :-( the only pda i have is my bricked one :-(

ps:I wonder how did the wiki entry got erased?
Dsixda and all the members who worked on this had done a great job and it's really annoying that all their work was lost.
