Hi. I am looking for a freeware task scheduler that I can use on my XDA2. I would like to be able to run an application every x minutes. Anyone seen something like that? Thanks
PHM Pocket PC Powertoys adds a Scheduled Tasks icon to the SETTINGS tab, but I can't see an option for adding a task. Perhaps it's a case of copyng a shortcut to a folder somewhere, but then how do you schedule the task? Perhaps I'm completely wrong and this Scheduled Tasks icon isn't like the Scheduled Tasks function in Windows after all.
something like this i think
http://www.pocketmax.net/alarmToday.htm
but it's not free
I use KitaraGenesis by Quench Software...I know the topic is FREE task scheduler but I think it's really good, and is only about a fiver in UK money.
Might be worth a look?

Anton, Rudegar,
Thanks a lot for the pointers. Will check these out. Take care.
Hi, I would extract the task switch and "alt-tab" included in spb pocket-plus... I think that it's the best, but the entire suite is too big.. about 4,5MB. Anyone can tell me a way for do that.
Does anyone had already tried to do somethings like this...
Thanks

Install Pocket Plus trial.
Activate the 'alt-tab' program.
Isolate it.
Remove Pocket Plus.

What do you mean with "isolate it"?
It's possible to make a separated cab with this? I would built it in on my ext ROM.

Here Check this, I just packed that into cab from my ROM's OEM Package.
It will assign the voice button to alttab
WORKING CAB
I have rebuild your cab because the link inside was corrupted.
I've tried it, and works... perhaps when you invoke the app,it switch directly to the next switch. With SPB ALT-TAB you can see all apps opened, and also select with finger what do you want to restore... It's so cool.
All the other that I've seen, switch directly to next apps like your.
Then here it is, the Spb One:
ANyway in spb plus option there is an option to remove unused component
see in start-setting-system-spb pocket plus
click tools and click uninstall component
It's just an .exe file I copied to my windows directory, created a shortcut and maped it to my ptt button. worls as a standalone app like a charm.
Yes...I have tried too and works great.
It's wonderfull
Thanks.
I've installed on my PDA, it looks very nice!
In the beginning; I couldn't found it. It doesn't make automatically a shortcut to Programs. So I made it and made a shortcut too in the Traylaunch of Battery Status and as first shortcut in START. Where did you made shortcuts to this program?
Its cool~
And how about a soft-reset short-cut??
SPB Pocket Plus Voice Command Functions
Well, this thread already solved my Alt-Tab need from SPB. Has anybody been able to get the Voice Command functions to work without SPB fully installed?
I'm a voice command fan and use it constantly with a bluetooth head set. It was great to just say: "Start - Suspend" after ending a call and the phone would go into standby or "Start - Screen saver" and the screen would turn off when I'm on WIFI downloading something and want to save some battery life. I looked for these on SPB Mobile Shell and aren't available.
Anybody solved this?
maybe this is interesting for you:
MSCEInf is a nice tool which lets you analyze every .cab file:
it shows you all files, all directories and registry entries. and you can extract single files if you want.
with it i simply extracted the alttab.exe file from pocketplus and copied it on my ppc. so i didn't need to install the app.
A little more help
Ok, I could consider myself a power user, but I'm not at that level just yet. (better said, I gotta long way to go)
I got the software, I was able to Identify the executioner which would be spbservices.exe, now, how do I pull it out? Would I need to modify any registry?
Thanks
this one is really easy:
just drag&drop the cab file into the WinCE Cabs Analyser. then go to the "files" tab (if it is named so. i use the german build) and in the list with the file id 20 there is a "alttab.exe".
one simply drag&drop and you have your file ^^
I'm getting there
Trust me, it'll be easy for me after this last question:
Where do I drag and drop it? I select it and drop it in which folder? As of yet it's not working. I tried selecting it and dropping it over any other folder in Windows and it tells me it's unable to read the file, i've tried it on a browsing folder on my PPC and it doesn't answer anything, nor do anything.
Thanks for your patience.
Thanks man!
I was looking for quick-Alt-Tab applications. wunderfull....
Guys, is this copyrighted software? If so, please remove it from the thread.

Try this one, works on my Triny
Hi! I have HTC Hermes and when im trying to multitask, my programs close in background, for instance, im listening to S2P and i minimize it then open resco file explorer or htc album or some other application, the S2P closes... or i have Slick (IM client) turned on, and i minimize it, then i surf the web in netfront or opera and the slick closes... this doesnt hapen every time, its just random, but it happens almost always Is there any way to fix this? or some setting that would help me somehow? I tried like 3 different roms but the problem stays, im using "MRH 9.0.1 Valerian" ROM right now. Can this be caused by SPB mobile shell because i installed it every time... If someone knows something that could help please respond thank you very much in advance.
Not sure if this helps but check the registry. I think there's a setting there that automatically gets the task manager to close programs to free up memory. If you cant find the key just install schaps advanced config-->go to HTC task manager-->Make sure auto kill is set to disabled. I find the second option easier.
autokill
I did not find that option in the advanced settings, but i managed to find a registry key "EnableAutokill" with value "1" in registry editor and i changed it to "0". hope this works. i will test it for a while and then i will share the results with you. Thank you very much for this tip
Edit: It works perfectly!!! Thanky very very very much! I wish you merry Xmas and happy new year!
well.. i had the HTC task manager installed and disabled the auto kill.
now the program doesnt kill themselves anymore.
but when it ran down till around 7mb, the programs are all closed except opera which im running on.
i couldnt find the registry key "enableautokill"..
So, I've just installed SK Tools on my X1 and was wondering the following:
What are your thoughts and feelings about using SK Tools with this phone?
Are there any "must-have" tweaks/apps that you use within SK Tools?
So far, I've just deleted cache files and such, because I've read that some people had troubles with it deleting important registry files. Is that true?
Mostly, I'm looking for some tips/tricks for "Tune Up!", but any tips/tricks are welcome
i truied a registry cleaning and it clean too much
some panel just disapeared after the cleaning
Same is true for me.
It deleted the registry entries for SE panels.
I haven't made any further use of it.
SK Tools
Hi
I use version 2.3.24

I use this program and did a hard reset to my phone.
Hello, I have question about tray. I would like to put application to tray, but I do not know how? Is any application or twek for this?
thanks a lot.
You might want to consider PHM Pocket PC PowerToys. It includes a particular tool named PHM TrayLaunch PowerToy. It essentially accomplishes what you are inquiring about, that is it enables you to put shortcuts to applications and documents on the Today screen notification area (system tray).
Link: http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/
Because the PowerToys comes bulked with several other useful and possibly not so useful tools, you might want to take a look at the documentation on how to selectively uninstall what you won't necessarily need (HowTo: Selective Uninstall).
Hope this helps!
