any softwares to record call duration? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I need a software to record my outgoing incoming call time, not the one in the device information
anyone has?
Thanks

What about this: phone>call log>tools>options ? Or you can also try PhoneDashBoard - today plugin with nice statistics and lots of settings

Pocketinformant has a journalling option that automatically pops up after a phone call. After entering shall from that moment on in the contact session the journal icon popping up behind the contact name. So by tapping the contact you can see all to that contact related journal items.

Javar,
How do you setup this in Pocket Informant??
thanks

you're using a himalaya right?
there is a built in call logger in the phone app
launch the phone app and press the nav button to the RIGHT. then tap on the call (not the icon) it should show the duration on a popup
hope this helps

There is a call loh built in, hudsonmobile phone dashboard is a nice app, with several options and setting which you may find useful.

thanks for that but I thought that someone mentioned that there was detailed journal in Pocket INformant.
Ie. Total talk time per contact etc...

checking voice mail and list of miss calls

Hi all,
2 questions re. accessing voice mail and miss calls list on the hermes:
1) On my old phone (very old Sony Ericsson T100), there is a 'check voice mail' option in the menu that lets me quickly check my voice mails (ie. essentially a speed dial). And it looks like the phone automatically configured itself to work out the voice mail's number (from the SIM?) Can WM5 do this as well? I'd like to have the voice-mail option somewhere that's easily accessible, so I don't have to hunt through my contacts list for the number.
2) How do we find the list of miss calls? Again, on my old phone, I could simply go to the 'miss call' menu option to see the list of miss calls, and all the numbers on the list stay there until I expicitly clear the list. Does WM5 have this facility as well?
cheers

Hi
Regarding 2) Missed calls.
If you have current missed calls an icon appears on the task bar. Tapping this brings up a list of missed calls (if you choose view.)
Alternatively you can open phone with the green button go to menu and in call history missed ones appear with an exclamation mark.

Regarding voicemail, this may depend what you can set up with your provider. With O2 I have it set up to notify me with a text message and a link to call sender (i.e. voicemail).

Prevent Audo Dial when a Contact is Pressed in Phone Dialler?

I've always peferred to use Phone Dialler's keypad to search for a Contact by pressing a few alpha/numeric keys -
then I used press the contact that I'm looking for and select SMS or call mobile or home phone, or email.
With TouchFlo 3D's Phone Dialler HD, however, this is not practical as it AUTOMATICALLY DIALS THE CONTACT instead of OPENING IT to allow you to chose your contact option (as in WM dialler).
I don't want to go back to WM6 Dialler because I like everything else but -
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO CHANGE IT FROM AUTO DIAL (selected contact) TO AUTO OPEN CONTACT?
Maybe there's a registry setting that can be changed?
PS. I'd also LOVE to be able to make the SCREEN FONT for SMS's in the TouchFlo 3D MESSAGES Tab, any Ideas?
(MUN zoom doesn't work properly on HD)
What is a MUN zoom?

Mun Zoom was invented for Diamond and consists of a + and - magnifying glass icons. Never really worked properly on Diamond and doesn't work properly on HD.

Yeah, this is an issue that has been discussed here before and as far as I know, there is no ideal solution for it. At least no one here has found any.
The only suggestion I have is to slide over (rather than tapping) the contact name when in the caller ID screen. This of course flips through the various phone entries for the given contact. However, it also means that it selects that contact without calling. Once selected, you have to press Menu (bottom right) and then "open contact". This is the same as opening your contacts list and tapping on a contact.
By the way, once you are in that screen, tapping on a number will initiate a call (or sms depending on what you tap), and tapping on the name of the contact (or picture) will open the contact file for you to edit it.
Like I said, caller ID screen is not ideal, but my suggestion might be a good enough "work around" for you. If you have a lot of contacts in your contact list, then my suggestion is faster than entering the contact list and finding that particular contact.
As far as your sms screen question - sorry, I don't know how.

Missed calls list

In D2 there are 2 different forms of call history representations:
1. Simple Call History. You get there from home screen, tapping on Call History line. You get 3 buttons below, Call History (with options to show all, missed, outgoing, received using submenu), All Contacts, Favorites.
2. Advanced Call History. You get there when there is missed call, and you click on notify bar, then in notification manager - on "you have X missed calls" line.
In this list you see 4 buttons below, allowing quick filtering (missed, outgoing, received, all).
Simple or Advanced are mine inventions, I have to do something to tell them apart ...
So the question is: how can I change behavior of Call History line on home screen, so it will open Advanced Call History (which is much easier to use), instead of Simple Call History ?

Thats really something I would like to have too!
I agree, it would be great to change this.
Your "simple" call history is the TF3D version, whereas "advanced" is the standard WM6 version. Unfortunately, I haven't found any way to turn off only selected parts of the TF3D interface. Must be in the registry somewhere. Maybe someone out there has more ideas?

Yup, I like the "advanced" one also better. Any progress in this topic?
Me too, anyone?
Looks like not too many people are interested in this!
Just discovered something interesting.
During a call, bring up the dialer keypad on the screen (by pressing the button). Now, if you swipe your finger across the blank white space to the left, you'll bring up the WM6 style quick dial list, and if you swipe to the right you'll bring up the WM6 style call history.
Not sure why this works, but it does. Doesn't help much with our initial query though!
For what it's worth, I'm using the Dusk dialer.
Um... found a way of getting the other "advanced" call history to come up... by mistake, and it is a little convoluted! I have SK tools installed and in SK tools set a shortcut up for the "Close Tasks" feature, I then set my call button to access the Close Tasks shortcut, using the "buttons" option under the standard rom settings tab. Now when i use that shortcut by pressing and holding the call button, it closes all the tasks then jumps to the elusive "advanced" missed calls screen!
Odd, not a fix for everyone as it means closing all your other software to open the screen but thought it may be of interest!

Time of call in recent call list

I have tried searching the forums, but haven't found anything about this.
In the Phone screen (with numeric pad and the recent call list) each entry has an icon, the person's name and phone number and a button to show the contact or details about the call.
Why isn't the time of the call in that list? Is there a way to turn that on? I consider that vital information.

yes it is annoying. I wish it is listed here.
But if you tap the thing on the right, it will show you all history for that particular person. In this screen, you have time and duration for each entry.
Also tap the button on the left next to "Talk" and it will open "Call History" with all the vital information you want.

Issues after upgrade?

Dear friends,
I've got the X2 for 1 month, and updated to MR2 as soon as i got the phone. Been happy with the quicker response, and rarely freeze. But after upgrade i found flaws that make me dissapointed :
1. In the middle of conversation, usually i have shortcut to Notes, so i can make notes while talking. Now the button is gone, replaced by much less useful dialpad. More strange, now there are 2 identical "end call" button : one is big , in the center of panel, one is small at the bottom of the screen. This is ridiculous. The only way i can get to Notes is to press Windows logo, go to main menu, scroll to Notes and press the icon. Thats way too long.
2. In the contact menu, i can only register 1 mobile number, 2 work numbers and 2 home numbers. So if the contact has 2 mobile number, only 1 can be assigned as Mobile Number, the other must go to Work or Home. The problem : if we open the contact, the only option to send SMS is to Mobile Number, not from work or home, despite it is really a cellular number. Apparently the software think the Work and Home number as a landline number. This is stupid. The only way to send SMS to work/home number is go to message menu, and press "add recipient", and so on. Why can't they make it from contact menu??
3. If i got a calling from unknown number (not from a Contact), usually i want to save the new number as a new contact or add to exsting contact. But i cannot do the second thing. I go to call history, choose the number, press the menu key, and all i get is "add to contacts", and it only allow me to save the number as new contact, but cannot add to existing contact. very annoying! i have to write it down in the paper, just like old days
I don't know if the above flaws happen because of the upgrade, or this is the new Windows 6.5.3 habit?? My old Ipaq 912 with Windows 6.1 can do all the above mentioned.
I feel very dissapointed...hope you guys can give me feedback?
Thanks for reading
1. Notes when calling is not in the menu anymore, I'm not sure if it's every WM 6.5.3 device. You have to go through main menu.
2. Adding contact works great when you enable the prompt asking you to add the number to your contacts after finishing conversation. In this case you're able to also add it to existing one.
3. Every WM, also 6.1 supports only 1 mobile number.
However when you create sms from your messaging, you can send the sms to ANY number you want.
Thanks - and tips for LED problem
Thanks, appreciate your input. I have enabled the option to add number after conversation.
I personally think the Notes in calling mode, very useful. I have seen it in every new WM phones, including HTC and Samsung. Its pity they removed it on X2.
One more thing, about LED notification problem (which dont work when the phone enter standby mode /black screen), and the phone will not wake up when received SMS. I have simple solution, but there are sacrifices to made. here's how :
1. Disable the Auto Lock
2. In the backlight & power management menu, in the field "turn off backlight after....", fill 30 seconds or 1 minute, to save battery
in the field "turn off screen if not used for..." choose "never"
3. Dont' forget to set the illumination for SMS/MMS received as "no limit"; in the "sound and notification" menu.
4. (optional) Enable auto adjust backlight in the backlight & power management
Basically, we prebvent the phone to enter standy mode at all. This will reduce the battery life about 20%, but you will never miss a sms. Any sms will wake up the phone, the SMS sound will ring, the LED will light until you read the SMS.
Also, because the standby mode is connected to auto-lock, you cannot auto-lock the phone, that means you have to lock it manually everytime you finish use the phone. You can lock quicky by using SPB Shell, and create Lock shortcut in the front panel. Or in any mode, press "windows" logo on the left bottom, then you can see the lock button on the bottom screen.
Cheers!
Personally I've never had a problem with smses.
My previous OS never showed anything besides the icon and sound alert for sms. I never liked my sms appearing on the homescreen.
Current behaviour is that it plays a sound and doesn't wake the device up. So it doesn't activate in the pocket.
You just wake the device and see the sms icon anyway so missing sms is not such a case.
If you set the sms sound as a quite short file, it will always play a sound.
At least it does in my case.
