Fitness training software? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Hi everyone,
does anyone know of any decent and, more importantly FREE, software that will help with fitness/sport training. Something that will help me keep track of excercises, times, calories burnt, Etc.
I know of a few commercial ones (ie "MySporttraining", "Diet & Excersise Assistant"), but would ideally like a free one.
Any help is much appreciated

don't know free fiess planners.
But don't forget WorkOut for pocket pc..
Try search something in pocket freeware.

Thanx for the advice, bud.

You could always try pumping your muscles with the XDA. Its quite heavy with the leather case. (especially if there's a lot blue tack on it!)

Worth a try
Hi,
I am using MysportTraining from http://www.mysporttraining.com
It's absolutely great and worth the money !
Just give it a try !
(I have nothing to do with them I am a simple user !!!)

Well said mike - we wont make you PM at the moment, maybe a MP though!
Mark,
We are into development our selfes so it really makes me loose it when I see requests like this.
I guess people simply dont realize how many man hours is spent on developing, testing, remove bugs, more testing etc., to finally see some clever kid crack the security (if any) and give it away for free, or even worse selling compiled CD's with all the latest software on Ebay.
LOL I am really sorry, just cant help my self.

I totally agree mike it really bugs me too -$10 is nothing for a program, most PPC programs are cheap, so its not a problem really. Out of interest what software do you develop?
Mark,
We are working on a very promising program right now, and all I can say at the moment is that it has something to do with an alternative to Itunes for Ipod's.
Othervise we work for companies developing frontends for their databases like MS SQL Server, and Access(though that is getting less and less) either as stand alone programs or integrated as a dynamic website.
We have just replaced our phones with O2 XDA Mini S(don't know how we could ever live without them lol) and have all ready had some ideas for a few pieces of software/utilities for them, so lets see when we can find the time to do something about it.
All I need now is a Tom Tom kit so my Ipaq can go in the car and be upgraded to my super navigator lol.

It always amuses me that people can drop $300 on a new device, but somehow can't seem to afford a $10 software application.
The really sad thing is they just don't understand what an incredible bargain they're getting in a software title like WisBar.
Just gotta wonder...
I had a go with the trial version of Wisbar, but binned it when I found the skins don't work properly when I switched to landscape mode. I'd maybe consider paying for it if it worked properly.
Hi New version now works fine with the Wizard and landscape switch
Give it a try

jeasbe: as you may have noticed, the name of this site is xda developers. Although most of us develop stuff that is free anyway, all developing takes time and effort and potential divorce settlements.
As everyone has said, spending a tiny fraction of the price of your phone on software that you will use permanently, and gain great pleasure from, is certainly worth even a little of your money. I suggest you try the trial, and if you like it, you know what to do. Wisbar is seminal software, and you will benefit from it. Whether you appreciate the memory drain etc is your choice. But there is also a lite version.
As far as I can tell, the board doesn't have a publicised policy on distributing warez. But the board members have made it clear: we don't appreciate people too cheap to pay for software that they can easily afford to buy, or too lazy to go and find their own cracks.
FYI - my personal policy is, I'm happy to discuss making cracks, since that's a developer's art, but distributing warez and cracks is for other boards. Torrent is your friend. Or a credit card.

Thats NOT FAIR Mate. All I said was If there is any software in the FREEWARE CATEGORY.
I never mentioned a WORD CRACK or illegal as many ppl. have done on the Forum.
Perhaps U should have read My words clearly.
I had said "I was wondering if ...........any thing that keeps on working forever"
ANYTHING means ANY THING LIKE WISBAR which is a shareware.
Its easy for us to act Arrogant and hurt one another on the forum buddy.
If U feel happy that way, Let it be.

How many of us who are members here are Not having e-mule or bittorrent and are not interested in downloading the Latest OS ??
We all have our Priorities Mate and Mine was simply a shareware like Wisbar which would keep on working forever.
Thanx and Sorry If I said anything Personal

Hm, I agree with all of this in a way...
But theres other ways to make money from software.
Sites that gain from advertising and offering free software with an optional donation if the program if good.

Your original "subject" said something about "warez", didn't it? And as for Microsoft Certified Professional: I've got that, too. Actually, I've got a few more of those certs. The way I see it, MCP is far too easy to get. Any monkey can be trained to pass some of the easier exams using a braindump.
You'll have to learn that quality comes at a cost. And I'm sorry to say this, but so far I haven't been very impressed by the quality of some Indian "System Engineers" who have come over here and tried to take business away from me. Yes, they might be cheaper - in the beginning. But in the long run, quality and experience do make a difference, and customers tend to come back.
On the other hand, I also know some guys from India who are really very good. I'm wondering in what category to put an "MCP" from India who, after not being able to find a crack on BitTorrent, eMule or whatever has the gall to ask for one in this forum.
'nuff said.

BeMy Portable Media Streaming App

Hey All,
I just graduated this year and thought that some of you may be interested in this application I made to stream audio from your PC to your wizard. It isn't complete and there is a lot of room for improvement, but i thought I would post a video of it in action to see if anyone is interested.
I know orb exists but this can be used without an internet connection, and it should be more customisable
I'd appreciate feedback, u can drop me a mail on [email protected]. My blog is in no way finished, but I am making it as I am looking for a job and hoping that it will increase my chances of getting some interviews.
Anyways,...here it is (I hope you don't mind my choice of music).... hehe

Medical Dictionary Program

Whats going on good people, I hope everyone is having a wonderful holiday. I just have one question, is there an medical dictionary program that is compatible and/or available for the 6800, if so by any chance those anyone have it or can possible lead in the right direction to where I can find it?
Thanks Chris
Hi, I'm a paramedic and i use 3 medial programs. I use taber's 2.0 which is medical dictionary, er suite 6.0 which is a useful reference and drug calculator and a Davis drug reference manual. All 3 can be found at www.medicalwizards.com.
PM me for details or email me at vato . mescalino @ gmail.com
I realize this is off-topic for the dictionary question. I haven't opened a medical dictionary in years.
ePocrates is an amazing, free drug reference. Most of the physicians at my hospital have been using it for years on their Palms and PPC's. It's got lots of calculators, etc. for those who like them. I've been using it since it was in beta, and it just keeps getting better. NO ads, either. AFAIK, you need to be a medical professional (physician, nurse, EMT, etc.) or student to get it. ePocrates is the reason that if my handheld breaks, I go out and buy a replacement THAT DAY. I can't function nearly as well without it. Those who need a drug reference should check it out.
Thanks guy, they both look very helpful. I just bought my fiance a 6800 who is a nurse, so i hope she find one of these options useful.

New App idea! Looking for Android Developer

I am a Technology Consultant by profession and I am fascinated by Android. I have some creative Android App ideas but I am not so good at java so unable to make things work by myself.
That's why I am looking for a developer (Preferably from India) who can help me out with this thing. I cannot pay anything but just looking for someone who has the potential to develop Apps but still did not get any attention.
Why should you help me for free?
1. App's developer section will have your name with me.
2. I guarantee that the App idea I have will be a hit.
3. There is no such application still in the Android Market.
4. You have got nothing to lose.
So if you have the zeal for developing android app and want to be famous (Yes, I believe my app idea is that good), Please leave a comment and we can then discuss things.
Thanks for reading!
okay, I'll bite, but I only develop for android in my spare time.
im in....just PM me or email [email protected]
sure ill help
RE
[email protected]
thanks!
Thanks for replying guys, I'll contact you by this weekend and discuss the details.
You guarantee your app will take off even though you can't spell correctly. I hope you're right.
Lol, kidding. Good luck.
I have an app idea for the healthcare industry so as you know what that industry has been like for many years you will know anything that can help healthcare and put money in workers' pockets is going to be a winner.
it will also save care homes and the NHS a small fortune.
parliament met me and nearly fell off their chairs they couldn't believe what a great idea it was.
but with a lack of funds its getting it made.
if someone could make it without money upfront I would happily go 50-50 on it.
and i cannot guarantee fame if it took off it would be innevitable.

[App][1.6+] HelpDiabetes

A app that calculated what you have eaten: carbs, prot, fat and kcal.
Also can calculate how much insuline a diabetes patient has to take.
add exercise, bloodglucose and medicine events.
has a history to!
Afther 3 months of hard work i released my first app on the market.
Current languages are English and dutch.
The database has food for almost every country in the world!
Try it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hippoandfriends.helpdiabetes&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5oaXBwb2FuZGZyaWVuZHMuaGVscGRpYWJldGVzIl0.
Looks nice. Definitely you've put great effort in this. As a feature request; I may have missed, but a chart option, showing calorie intake or blood glucose level would be great. Also a feature to enter weight would be nice as well.
Also I would suggest to mention some sort of disclaimer for insulin estimation feature.. because it depends a lot from patient to patient (ie- weight, age etc) and you may not want to give medical advice..
Nonetheless I like the app as a long time diabetic.
I am very proud of you for doing this.
I come from a family with a history of diabetes, I have seen loved ones have limbs amputated and dialysis this is something that people don't take seriously. I applaud your efforts I may have to buy my mother a android phone now so that she can utilize this.
Does this have an email function so I can email a log book to my doctor? I can't see anything about that on the app page.
This may be a bit far fetched and I have no idea if its possible but it would be awesome if you could take a picture of what you are eating, like a few biscuits or some such or a meal on a plate or scan a bar code on a packet of food and then the app will do the appropriately calculations???
At the moment i have less time becaus i got other stuff to do for school.
But in my spare time i will keep working on this app.
Maybe next thing i can implement is the email function with the data.
This is really cool. We have always struggled for a mobile way to look up carbs for my son. He is seven now. Has had Type 1 for two years now. Thank you.
Thanks for the hard work.
This is good work and will help me a lot keep it up
Thanks ✟
Do you want a german translation? I could possibly do this for you. PM-Me
