An XDA II (i-mate) successfully associates with an AP. If you leave the WLAN coverage and come back later, it is nearly impossible for the XDA II to re-associate with the AP, unless you remove and insert the WLAN SD card! Even the rebooting of the XDA II doesn't work either.
The SD card is socket SD card.
Any ideas to solve it? Is it possilbe to stop WZC to avoid it?
Thanks

Hi
I have a Sandisk WiFi card that used to work, but now just continuously flashes and does not recongnise my access point.
Does this point to a faulty card, or some config problem?
Thanks!
You did well to get it to work at all!

I have recently bought one of these on ebay for my Qtek 2020
Here is a link to a similar sale: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=3728&item=5716896682
So far the card has worked fine. It connects to my Access point at home (I have a Belkin 54g AP) and I have also connected it in ad-hoc mode to my laptop using a D-Link 54g PC Card. No indication of battery life effects yet, but the card does get warm in use.
I have failed so far to get ActiveSync to connect over the network, but that just might be a firewall issue with my company laptop. I can browse the laptop hard disc without trouble and stream mp3's to the PDA fine.
If only Pocket PC2003 network settings was a bit more user freindly!
The SanDisk card has two problems that are really annoying. Can you tell me if this card:
1. Can connect to WPA-protected access points?
2. If you remove the card, and re-insert it, will it work without having to reset the device?
WPA access is supported in the application, but I haven't tried it as I use MAC address control on my home AP. I could give it a try if you need it tested.
I can remove and replace the card and it reconnects without having to do a reset. If you replace it very quickly after removing it it will get confused, but I guess that's not unreasonable.
That's much better than the Sandisk. You have to reset the device if you remove it and want to use it again. And tech support says that is normal! Idiots. The Sandisk also doesn't support WPA. The application says it does, and it will take the key, but it doesn't work. Once again, Sandisk support says that is normal.
So...if you have some time to try out WPA at some point, it would be very useful to know.
I got a SandDisk SD wifi with no memory that I use with my I-mate, or let me say I used to use , I've upgraded yesterday to wm2003se and installed the latest driver availble on sandisk website (Oct 03) and till now I couldn't connect to the access point...
Any help is apreciated.

anyone please ??

Hi!
Is I-Mate the equivalent of O2 XDA II? If yes, then I might have the answer
I was also having problem with my SANDISK SDIO WiFI card and my O2 XDA II with WM2003SE all these while since the upgrade until JUST NOW.
By a stroke of luck I manage to coneect it to my home DLINK router.
Go to START -> SETTINGS -> CONNECTIONS ->NETWORK CARDS -> NETWORK ADAPTERS -> Change the 'My network card connects to :' WORK (not internet)
Use cable to activesync your PPC to your Desktop PC making sure that the connection is there. Insert your WiFi card and see whether it connects. If not, de-active activesync, take out your PPC and soft reset with the WiFi card in place. Put it back into your cradle and allow activesync to proceed and see whether your card connects.
See whether this procedure works
thanks for your reply,
I tried what you have suggested with no luck :?
My network card tries to associate with no success
thanks anyway
RE
ArcticCat,
Sorry to mention. I was also playing around with this freeware, Hitchhiker, then and was connected. After which I deleted Hitchhiker.
Here,
http://www.kasuei.com/hitchhiker/
Try connecting via Hitchhiker and see whther it connects. Make sure you follow my previous procedure too.
thanks again for you reply but no success either
let me ask some question
1) You have a SandDisk SD I/O Wifi with no memory ??
2) what drivers are u using for it?
3) you have wm2003se installed
4) what was the problem before?
I am seeing the AP but cannot associate to it.... same thing with you?

Answers
1) I'm using SANDISK SDIO WiFi card without memory
2) I'm using SOCKET WLAN Tools Mobile Edition v2.01. Get it from Socket Communications
3) Yes, I've WM2003SE installed on my O2 XDA II
4) Same problem like yours, previously for a long time till last night. Can associate but cannot connect.
I'm using ActiveSync v3.8
I suggest you just play around with Hitchhiker and my procedure for a while. Reset and disconnect/connect activesync if you require. FI, Hitchhiker cannot connect too in my case.
Good luck
Now we have the same configuration with the only difference that I am still not able to connect :?
I didn't quite understood what do u want me to do with ActiveSync
thanks once more
RE
ArcticCat,
Did you get your SDIO WiFi driver here:-
http://www.socketcom.com/support/support_wlan.asp?Type=SDIO
The one for WM2003
Yes I did... NO luck today neither
RE

Hie there,
After a lot of problems with my Spectec Wlan sdio card, i've removed the driver and installed the modified E300. So far so good. The new driver connects to my AP.
The problem is that it can't get into the internet.
My laptop can, so it's not the AP.
Also, i've notested that even after removing the Spectec driver, when I go to /settings/connections/connections/advanced/network adapters/, in the list I see the new "Socket WLAN SDIO v2 Driver" but I also see the old "WLAN-11b Adapter" in the list. I believe that this may be the problem.
If so, how can I remove the old driver from this list?^
Thnx
Oops, my bad.
Of course it was the wep key not inserted.
Anyway, stil, how do I remove the old driver form the network card list?
And also (sorry 'bout being pushy), now that I can connect to the internet, i've notested that sometimes (really a lot) when I insert the card and get connected, after a while I take the card off and if I put it back again it won't work. I have to softreset for it to work again. It's very annoying.
Everytime I take the card off i need to softreset before put it back on.
How can I prevent this?
Thnx
I have a weired problem. I recently purchased a Toshiba 4GB SDHC (SD) card for my P3400i. When I access any application, which is installed in the SD card and requires an internet connection to function (such as Opera, Profimail etc.), it initializes the connections and then hangs the system. Only a soft-reset is the option left, after that. When I was using a 1 GB card, had never faced this issue.
Whereas, all the other applications such as games or any other, functions fine. The only problem is when an internet connection is required.
Anybody faced a similar issue? Please suggest a solution.
Has this problem been solved,...
I have a similar kind of problem with my p3400i gene. using a 2GB SD card for 6 months but for sometime now it hangs while connecting to internet or downloading someting on it.
Thanks
Aj

thanks gaurav for the suggestion but i have done that 2 to 3 with my laptop and there is no change , it works fine wth all the applications but when i use opera mobile or download something it hangs andwith soft reset only option
