Here's the first shipping cradle, not for me yet as I'm looking for one that charges a 2nd battery. There is one here that has audio out however;
http://www.seidioonline.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=1211
Have you seen a stand alone charger that will charge just the battery?
I'm not one for leaving the phone in the cradle, but I do like to charge a spare battery and cycle the batteries.
I have my eye out for one as well, Last time I got a nice one from Sedio.
Although, I also got a Cradle/Spare Charger from Mobile Planet for my Hermes that was smaller than the single charger so that's what I ended up traveling with, so I could charge 2 when needed. The mobile planet one was from HTC and was the best quality, hopefully they'll make a TyTN version.
Kaiser Cradle with Extra Battery Charger
I ran across this one today...but it says it is not in stock yet.
http://www.talkietech.com/htckatiip4de.html
I emailed them, but have not heard back on an estimated date yet.
It looks good, but looking at the pictures, it has more that 4 contacts for the battery which looks more like TyTN's instead of TyTN II but that's probably a mock-up. I'm hoping still for a HTC version, their TyTN version had the 2nd battery set on edge behind the phone which made for a much more compact charger. Fingers crossed for a type II version..

I'm afraid to use my 8925 as a daily phone without a spare battery. I can get through the day with my 750 with a spare battery in pocket (usually go from 7 a.m. until around 3 with the first battery).
But with only one battery and no stand alone charger, the 8925 is kind of a toy at this point.
Hey buddy, I have a "stand alone" charger to sell you for 1000 bucks. It's fully featured with a 2.8 inch touch screen, bluetooth, wifi, keyboard, GPS and phone. I'll even throw in a 2 gig microsd card and free shipping too.
I will take it!
But only if you will take Western Union and throw in the Brooklyn Bridge.
Gotta believe with AT&T releasing the Tilt we will have cradles and batteries available pretty fast.
here is the link and it is on sale http://www.talkietech.com/htckatiip4de.html
re
the link says that its still not in stock and coming soon.
Is the Tilt able to use the 8525's desktop cradle?
In most cases it will fit, but the rear is thinner so there isn't good support. I'm using one carefully until I can get the real deal for Kaiser/Tilt. Any 2nd battery cradle will NOT fit/charge the Kaiser battery.
I have the following cradles available for the Kaiser:
- Vertical cradle (no 2nd battery charger)
- Horizontal cradle (no 2nd battery charger)
- Vertical cradle with 2nd battery charger
- Dome-style vertical cradle (no 2nd battery charger)
Pictures are below.
If you're interested ... PM me.
Interesting cradle, that horizontal one. But how does it load? The USB-Port is on the other side or is it just an "photo-fake"?
Bye, Peter
the horizontal one looks dope.
The hoizontal one is junk. I got one just like it for my XV6700. The mini USB never lined up quite right. Eventually, I slid the phone in and the mini USB connector broke off and went into the dock. It then became a worthless paperweight. The cutesy stylus is super cheap clear plastic.
Also, as someone else has already noted, the picture has the phone placement wrong.
Has anyone tried this from PDAir? Looks ok.
I just got a shipment confirmation for a cradle from Talkietech.com so it looks like they have it in stock.
http://www.talkietech.com/htckatiip4de.html
Has anyone managed to find one yet?
I've tried a number of places (ever since expansys sent me what they thought was a touch pro charger but turned out to be for the old htc phones - new connector on Touch Pro and Diamond)
I hate to get caught with a flat battery.
Erm... The Touch Pro connector is the same as every other HTC phone I've come across (i.e. the Hermes and Kaiser) and is charged by mini USB.
I'm using the car charger I had for an old Motorola V3, it's actually an official Morotola branded charger but it works fine on the Raphael - all usb power is a standard 5V after all, so I knew no harm would come to it!
I've also ordered a solar charger with built in 2000mAh emergency battery too, it came this morning but nobody was in to take delivery, so I've got to go and get it from the royal mail place tomorrow!
looks like I might have been wrong, the connector shape is different, but my old charger still fits...
apologies all
you can use any 5v mini usb car charger. need not be an htc branded charger
My brother had one for his motorola krazr back in the day, it's a wall and car charger in one (you can flip out the different attachments)... He now has a samsung, so I swiped his.
I'm using the original one from HTC, the HTC CC C100.
Since my TyTNII I faced problems that other carchargers didn't provide enough power to load the TyTNII.
The original loader didn't face this problems.
And in Holland it was €20.00 so not much more than an unbranded one.
Now I'm using it with my Touch Pro

Mogul is same way. You can use regular USB, but modified has other sound features or whatever
OK I received the solar charger I mentioned in post #2 today. It's working now but I had a couple of issues with it! Here's a copy of the e-mail I sent to the company I bought it from:
ukdj78 said:
My solar charger has now arrived. First off I should like to point out that the information on your web site is incorrect as the instructions for my product say that the internal battery is only 1350 mAh not 2000.
Secondly, I could not get the internal battery to charge from my PC's usb port at first. I noticed the led light flickering very faintly so I prised apart the plug which connects to the unit and noticed that it had been soldered in such a way that two of the connections inside the plug were touching each other! I lightly bent them apart and plugged it back in and it works fine now.
Thirdly, I noticed that the product was also shipped with a mains adaptor to charge the internal battery (which I can't use in the UK as it has an American mains plug). My one rattled! Seeing as I wasn't planning to use it anyway, I thought I'd investigate what was causing the rattle and I found a piece of loose metal wire about 3 cm long inside the adaptor! As you would understand this was potentially very dangerous!
I do not wish to return my product as it is now working satisfactorily, but I thought you might like to pass my comments on to the product manufacturer. There was a card in the box that says QC Pass #06. Obviously this quality checker isn't very good at his job considering I found two potential short circuit issues!

Hi, ukdj78:
Luckily we have customers like you who knows about things and understand that ultimately we do not have control of the product's quality as we are only the seller. I have forward your email to our purchaser and we will never order anything from the same manufacturer again. Poor quality products not only make us lose money, but our own company image. And like what you said, a risk for our customers.
As for your order. I will refund you the shipping charge to make it free shipping as a compensation for all the inconveniences you experienced.
Again, we are very much appreciated your understanding and your comments.

By the way, if anyone does like the idea of a solar charged emergency battery there's also this one from Handtec. Looking at the specs and dimensions and the fact that Handtec have added a note saying it's black not silver as pictured makes me think it's the exactly the same product as the one I've got. The only reason I ordered from Donba is that they were cheaper. I didn't realise at the time of ordering that even though Donba have their prices in £'s they're actually based in the US and ship directly from the manufacturer in Hong Kong, so it took quite a while for mine to arrive. Handtec are UK based, so you should get a UK power adaptor (if you get one at all) and it should arrive much quicker, they're reliable too, I bought my Touch Pro from them!
Obviously considering my experience though, it may be wise to find a different model that does the same thing just to be on the safe side!
I'm gonna buy a originally adapter 4 sure!
So I know 4 sure it's working correctly!
Hello all
I value the opinion of the members here so I wanted to ask an updated battery question for my FUZE. There are many threads here about different batteries, but most are old. I am looking for current info if any.
Background:
1) I do not like the way the extended batteries look and how huge they make the phone.
2) So I am looking for a second backup battery (regular size) that I can have charged and with me on business trips to use when first battery runs out of juice.
THE QUESTION -
Can anyone post current links to backup batteries they have purchased that either have cradles with them, or some other external way to charge them outside of the phone. I need to be able to use my phone while the back up battery is charging.
Thank you everyone for the links and feedback.
Also - is there something like this - http://www.daydeal.com/product.php?productid=27821&cat=3792 that comes with the cradle AND the second battery THAT PEOPLE RECOMMEND. Thanks
I am in the same boat. I am reluctant to purchase batteries off ebay for fear they are fakes. There are way too many "too good to be true" deals. I made that mistake with my Tilt and I am reluctant to go down the same path.
Daydeal.com looks like they might be legit.
That site looks ok, and the cradle looks good including the dock for a second battery. Has anyone on the forums picked one of these up?
dwight.
I picked up a extra Seido battery, but am also hoping for some type of 2nd charger or dock. This one looks rather nice, but I wonder if there are any other alternatives (such as an official HTC dock)?
If anyone does pick this up, i'd love to hear an opinion on it.
pick up the seidio 1500mah extended battery. it is really your only option. it easily adds 2-3 more hours of usability.
Pulled this off another thread. Looks better than the one on daydeal.
http://mobile.brando.com.hk/prod_detail.php?prod_id=03819&dept_id=039&cat_id=1149
I purchased this one - http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350158863101
I received it in a little under a week. It is black, very slick looking and the replacement battery says htc innovation on it so it looks legit. it came with both a usb connection to the computer and a power cord adapter to plug into the wall. Is pretty small and compact. I will report back after using the replacement battery once it has charged for a while.
TVDinner,
Hows that battery doing for? I'm thinking of buying same deal today.
see this for emergency charge I buy them and never has a problem with runing down power finaly I can use my GPS with offroad map on mountain

or there is cheaper Solar Charger like this
http://cgi.ebay.com/SOLAR-BATTERY-P...5|66:2|65:12|39:1|240:1318|301:0|293:1|294:50
I got this one off of eBay and it' great Clicky
The base is nice and sturdy, not like the cheap crap the one for my N95 was. And the spare batter lasts for along time as well, so it's all good
I picked up this dock (w/spare battery charger) for $16.83:
http://www.amazon.com/Premium-Multi-Function-Cradle-Touch/dp/B001I1LJ8M
along with this spare battery for $8.59:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.16225
From my visual comparison, the battery looks almost identical to my original as far as the printing goes except the new one is white where the old one is more of a really light gray. The meter on the battery from dealextreme doesn't seem as accurate as the OEM battery but it seems to hold a charge well. I guess that's the trade off for not buying an OEM battery.
The cradle itself is really sturdy but I've noticed that if I leave my Fuze in it for too long, Activesync loses the connection and I have to unplug everything and reconnect to get it to recognize (this doesn't happen with direct USB connection). However, it will continue to charge even if Activesync loses the connection. The cradle comes with a miniUSB cable and an AC adapter (barrel plug) that can be plugged into the rear. The spare battery charger will only work when the AC adapter is plugged in but either connection allows the phone to charge (both connections at the same time is not recommended).
My battery and doc
Had the same problem, and found (with my previous Hermes) that having two regular batteries and a doc that could charge the phone and extra battery at the same time was the best solution. I went to the AT&T store and bought the extra battery for $35 or so. At mobileplanet.com (eXpansys) I bought the extra battery charger/dock http://www.expansys-usa.com/p.aspx?i=172873 that has been great since. One word of caution (if you care)- the dock/charger comes with a wall charger cord that DOES NOT end in a mini USB. Therefore the dock uses the standard round 5V connection instead. Since mine stays stationary next to the bed (i grab the batt and phone each day when I leave, and put them back at night) this was a non issue. However, unlike the HTC branded one for the Hermes, the battery is flush in the charger, rather than standing up at an angle behind the phone, so this dock is a bit larger 2.5" by 4" then previous versions, but does all you are asking for.
USB Charger w/Backup Battery Support
I found the same charger on Amazon.com for a few dollars less if some of you are worried about DayDeal. Here's the link:
http://www.amazon.com/Hotsync-Deskt...GGPS/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1241719899&sr=8-3
I bought this today and am heading across the country on a trip. I'll report back on how well it works.
Has anyone tried this spare battery charger?
http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/bd3-bcsi3htchx1-bk.htm
I don't really need a cradle. If I needed to, I could connect a USB cable to this and charge me phone as well as the spare battery.
Not really sure if its worth the price or not.
Charging Station/Dock and Spare Battery
So I received the spare battery and charging station that I ordered from Amazon. It isn't anything spectacular, but feels solid and works like a champ. It came with a 120v A/C Wall adapter and an extra USB cable so I could either use it to connect my Fuze directly to the computer by USB, or just plug it in to an outlet for charging. Works great. I would recommend it, but I haven't had much experience yet, just charged the spare and swapped the batteries out of the device.
Whos got Extended battery on there Att Fuze ?
Is it worth the bulk
& which one to get ?
1,500 / 1,800 / 2,000 diff kinds i see
with diff company
Since AT&T no longer supports the Tilt i can't buy an original car charger from them anymore. The one i have no longer works, and from what i've gathered across the intarwebz is that unless you have a factory original car charger or l33t soldering skills, you don't get to have a car charger anymore. Is this right?
Since i don't own a soldering gun, is there a car charger that will work guaranteed? I checked HTC's site and it looks like they are just selling cheap aftermarket generic car chargers.
ANy help would be appreciated.
Thanx Snow
i just got mine from seidio in a combo bundle, no problems for me
How long have you had yours Gelf? Mine worked great initially, then one day i noticed it wasn't charging at all.
Car Charger
I am using a car charger from a Blackberry. If fact, my wall chrager is also from Blackberry. Had them left over from the old days.
Never have any problems.
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/4072.htm
I have one of these, it's a genuine one and charges as well as a wall charger.
My mini USB connector is knackered after I tried to re-set my phone by jamming the stylus in it, so now I have to wiggle it to get it to charge.
Any mini usb charger will work. depending on the volts it may take longer to charge. I sell them all day at Radio Shack and use it for my tilt. just a generic one will do
Don't go cheap on these -- I had a cheap one that fried a device.
I currently use this Belkin...
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001FB578I
includes a 1-amp quick-charge port and a standard 500mAh port
Im lucky i have a USB port on my stereo and i just use a standard mini usb cable to charge my phone, otherwise i use any motorola USB charger and i have nvr had a problem with any of those.
There are threads around about car chargers for Kaiser - search is always good. The general opinion seems to be that non HTC chargers can be unreliable. I've tried a few that sometimes charged and sometimes didn't. Often they would charge for a few mnutes then stop. Rarely seem to charge with GPS running, they just don't seem able to supply the power needed. However I bought a 'genuine' HTC charger from ebay and it's been working great for months. They're still available for aound $AUS20. I think it's worth trying to find one that states 1 amp output from memory. In fact, think I'll buy another now just in case they disappear! Can't remember exactly who it came from though.

Yup yup. Go HTC if you want reliability. I had a 'Tesco Value' one that showed it was charging but I could never work out why my battery was dying. I found an app that logs the mA charge or discharge rate and that told it's own story; when the Kaiser is working hard - GPS, bluetooth and a couple of apps running it can be pulling well over 500mA. Spend the money, it's worth it.
I got a phillips car charger from Asda for £5. Has tips for most types of phone including mini-usb. Charges my kaiser fine.
Hi,
I always answer the same when I see this kind of demand: buy the official HTC one, it cost something like 10 euros in the EU (probably 10-15 $), and you'll have no problem (see a previous post here).
I had a cheap one, it was a no-go. ince then it's perfect.

Agreed. The official charger has worked very well for me. Got mine here. Mailed same day and Priority Mail. Have ordered a number of things from them and highly recommend.
I use a motorola v3x car charger
Thanks for the help with alternate ideas and places to look at for buying an official adapter. I'll look around.
I bought a generic one off of Amazon and that worked for about 3 days and then it stopped charging as well. I hope that i can find a solid alternative.
And for anyone who mentioned that i should use the search or off handedly implied that i did not search. You should really stop with that behaviour. It makes you sound like a pompous clown and doesn't add anything of value to this thread or to this site for that matter. For those that provided valuable input, thank you very much for your time and consideration.

Apologies if my comment sounded rude, it was simply meant to alert you to the fact that there are many threads on this topic that may help and you didn't mention that you have searched already. I know the search function on these large boards is less than efficient and can be frustrating. It's a good idea to mention that you've searched as many people don't bother. For starters, the following threads are related to this issue and have more info than this thread:

Personally I only reply to questions if I think I can help and because I've had so much help from others, not because I have nothing better to do.
all i have to say is, i'm SURE theres a charging circuit built in that will not allow it to charge at too high of a rate in mA's, the OEM one is fairly high (like 850 or 1a as some have said) although i've had fine luck using pretty much anything, i use a mini-usb cable attached to a computer to charge most of the time, the USB standard will allow a max of 500mAh, so it takes longer, but whatever, i have also used Mot. V3 chargers for a long time with fine luck, really the only one i have that doesnt work is my bluetooth headset charger, and its mini-usb but its rated for an output of 350mA!
I had similar problems with my Kaiser. For almost a year it would charge with car charger then it stopped. It would charge fine on AC and computer USB but not in the car.
If you look inside the USB port on the phone at the bottom are two little tabs/fingers. They need to be lifted up to make contact with the charger. I took a dental tool and slightly lifted them so they make better contact with charger plug.
Also make sure that the plastic inside the usb on the phone is not curved or bent as some of the pins will then not touch then. I straightend out the plastic tab inside the USB with a small screwdriver and then made sure that the little grounding legs were bent up a bit and bingo it works.
I use a Motorola charger as well in the car and it worked fine for Blackberry and other phones I checked so I knew the issue was in the phone.
Buying a new charger may not solve the problem if its in the phone. Thanks to those who posted their findings as after I searched I was able to peice together a few ideas that worked.
go to ur local office supply and get one of those cigarette usb chargers (mine is for an HP Ipaq I used to have) and use your data cable ... it works fine

hmm Scary!
Phone works just fine, but in my haste to flash a rom I didn't check my battery charge and screwed the pooch. So I hacked a USB cord to route power to the phone. In the process of doing so I somehow torched the ability to charge a battery. So I am thinking 50 bucks or something like that.
*sigh* so now I have a droid incredible 2
However, this means that for a small price someone could have this droid 2 to build on and know that it just needs soldered power conduit or if you are really $$ you could figure out how to fix the charging aspect of the phone.
Thoughts comments.
I have been stalking the forums here for quite sometime, make donations and generally keep my mouth shut.

Honestly the phone is a paper weight really for anyone looking to get practical mobility out of it.
The only way the phone will power on is with the hacked USB cable I have made. Basically overrides battery and powers the phone.
Would be ideal for someone who wants to try and have verizon fix it. Or to build ROMs on.
The phone is in slightly used shape. Screen is protected and flawless. Keyboard is find as well. Small nick on one of the corners. The phone will not recognize any new battery. Phone loads a display of a battery with a ? inside of it. When a battery is inserted.
I am here to solve your problem my brutha Go to radio shack, they have a enercell universal charger for 40 bucks there that will let you charge ANY cell phone battery (did the same thing). Charge your battery and bring it back to the store for a full refund, or keep it like I did as I do stupid things regularly
