anyone know about the registry? - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

I think I need to go into the registry and remove a reference to ttgpseng.exe ...... but I don't know how to safely do this.
I'm getting a 'notification error' that windows can't find this file after I uninstalled TomTom Navigator.
Thanks
Mike

TomTom not working. I don't have retail version

Hi all, new here, just got an XDAIIi.
Am trying to load tomtom5.1, and also find other useful programs. I did a search on how to load it, all worked, but when I open the program, it says no maps. The maps are definatly on the memory card. Is it something obvious?
Also, any programs you can all suggest?
Cheers
Chris
Oops, cant spell tonight...

HI, create a folder called TomTom under My Documents/ in your memory card and put all the files in the TomTom folder, once you load the Navigator it will load the map. Hope this can help.

Footprints, NaviPanel & Tomtom

Hi,
I've 2 problems with tomtom:
-I can't usa the new option on tomtom (navigation to image).
- How use tomtom as principal navigation software in navipanel.
Someboy can help me?
Hardware button customization solve part of the problem (tomtom on sx button and navipanel disabled) but.... Is possible to use navipanel with tomtom and tomtom with footprints photos?
stay tuned
Marco
U can use the hardware-Button-customizing from here.
Or:
The changing the button from NaviPanel to TomTom is easy:
Navpanel customizable with TomTom, u find a registrykey named
HKLM\Software\HTC\NaviSW\
U find the entry MiddleLayerDLL
Change the string to NaviSWMiddle_TomTom.dll
Now is TomTom the Navisoft in NaviPanel
Works with following navsofts:
CoPilot
NaviTel
PaPaGo
TomTom
(It works only with the OEM-softs from device)
Greetings Mirko
Hi! Thanks for the answer!! Another question:
There aren't possibilities to use navpanel with tomtom without oem-version? I've installed a new version of the software...
Will not work, only with OEMs
Greetings

Hi, what do you mean with "entry"? is it a reg key or reg value (ex. DWORD, or SZ)?
reg value
Greetings!

I bought Copilot 8 and i have the same problem.
There is no way to make work for not OEM?
Retrieving some file from the OEM?
I noticed that after i remove the OEM Copilot 7 and installed the Copilot 8 (not OEM) all work until the first softreset.
bluefish: No. There is not. Or you can try to debug NaviPanel.exe and write your custom DLL . Good luck.

I do it! I see that NaviSWMiddle_CoPilot.dll to work need alksdk.dll. I copied from the version 7 oem and now Navipanel and Footprints run, but the destination is not passed correctly. Maybe it need version 8 of dll.
But this is already a step ahead.
Also no need hardware button customization to restore the navigation key.
bluefish: That is exactly, what I meant. Each navigation software most probably have some kind of API. At least, CoPilot, NaviTel, PaPaGo, TomTom and Garmin have it. Next step is to make your own DLL (it is not that difficult), which will be triggered via NaviPanel.exe and will send proper command via API into navigation software. But you need to know, how is DLL triggered and this part is not easy to find out.
Could somebody upload a copy of alksdk.dll from v7 please so that I can put it in my windows dir?
Thanks, Paul
Here is the dll
Thanks - that works a treat. I just copied the .dll file to the Windows directory and it worked. Didn't need the .reg file. Thanks very much
No REG Key
After having installed Ultimate_iOmEgA_ROM_25-December-2009_WM6.5_COM2_XIP_SYS_21887_0407_Deutsch_Deutschland on my XDA, the NaviPanel isn't connected to TomTom.
In the registry i don't even find the registrykey NaviSW!
Can anyone provide a script to add this key and the values?
Thanks!
Markus
NaviPanel
I think the attached file worked quite well for my XDA Guide but I was running WM6.1 rather than 6.5
Which XDA are you using? Is it the Guide? I'd be really interested in running WM6.5 on my Guide but haven't found a file that will do it yet that I can trust.
Thanks, Paul
Hi Paul,
thanks for the message. Yes, I run WM6.5 on the xda cruise since yesterday. Up to now everything runs fine.
For installation of WM6.5 i used this Hard-SPL (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=552481) and this ROM(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572713).
Thanks to OliNex and billabongstaff! Great pieces of work!!
I tried to follow the instructions you posted but i cannot find <Programs> - <System> in WM6.5.
Does anyone know how to import reg-scripts in 6.5?
Thank you and a happy new year!
Markus

iPAQ File Store on 910c

Hey folks, quick question:
At some point in the last couple of months, after fiddling with the registry to figure out how to get aGPS working with cell-IDs... I seem to have "lost" my iPAQ File Store. I didn't really use it for much, but it is screwing up my SPB Mobile Shell file explorer now that it's missing.
Anyone know a quick fix to get it to show up again? I don't even care about the files that were in it before, I just want it to show up as a folder/option in my file explorer again...

I have no solution for your problem...
But can you tell us anyway how you managed to get the cell-id stuff working?

I haven't gotten it working yet.
try check for your reg on the following key (or similiar):
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\Profiles\TRUEFFS_DOC2\FATFS]
"MountAsBootable"=dword:1
"MountAsRoot"=dword:1
"MountAsRom"=dword:0
"MountAsHidden"=dword:0
"Folder"="Flash Disk"
"Folder"="iPAQ File Store"
"Name"="FLASH Disk Block Device"
If it isn't there, should I try and add that registry entry?
