Anybody can tell me where I can get thouse becouse I'm swithcing from T-Mobile and woudl like to have AT&T OS and radio stack. My phone is unlocked already.
Thanks,
G
before you switch to AT&T be advised that your phone does NOT support 850mhz bandwith which AT&T is migrating their network to. You will have very poor coverage with this device on their network and incrimentally worse covergae. Just an FYI I think you'll find yourself having a very bad experience with a 1900mhz device on their network. On the other hand you will have a rummoured better experience with an 850mhz device. Anyway both the ROM and Radio package is on the siemens website here http://www.siemens-mobile.com/MySie...C%2FMC%2FSX56POCKETPCPHONE%2Fdanda%2F,00.html

Hi
I have a cingular 8525 with use on Cingular and here is my problem i am in a area that has 3G coverage and i do not get 3G signal unless i am in my kitchen of my home.
a friend of mine has a 3G phone also and he can get 3G signal with no problems.
I have a 3G simcard the one with the red fireball and the 3G logo.
I have already brought the phone back once to see if that was the problem so cingular gave me a brand new phone.
I am thinking it is a ROM issue or a radio problem.
Heres the Rom version i have
ROM version 1.34.502.1
ROM Date 9/21/06
Radio Version 1.116.00.00
Protocol Version 32.53.7018.01H
Is there a radio update or ROM update that i can install safely with out messing up my phone im new to this. if so where can i get it from
Thanks for any of your help with this issue..
I think the answer isn't the one you want to hear. Since you CAN get 3G service in your kitchen, the problem is that A) something about your house makes it hard to get a signal (possibly the materials or electromagnetic interference) or B) you're in a fringe area where the signal is weak or C) you're in a good area, but the network needs some tweaking.
Cingular's 3G coverage is still very new and it takes people getting a 3G phone in their hands, discovering how well it works, and reporting their results back to Cingular in order for the network to improve. I suggest you go back to a Cingular store and talk to someone (a manager or a knowledgable employee) who can report back to the network team about your experience in your area. They may be able to take a look into it and get a simple fix. Reporting a problem I had at first with voice calls in a 3G area on my 8525 resulted in the problem being fixed by the network guys within 48 hours. I'm not saying there is a problem in your area necessarily. But if your experience is reported to someone who can actually do something about it, then the chances of your coverage improving increases greatly.
Good luck!
i did report the problem to cingular and they opened up a trouble ticket.they first said to me that it could be because of the data plan that i am using which is a blackberry plan since i am using the blackberry connect software on my 8525. but when i had the regular PDA connect plan i still didnt get the 3G signal.
But i said it wasnt because of my data plan it was because of there network.I mean what does the data plans have to do with 3G signal?
The blackberry plan i have now works perfectly with my 8525 and blackberry connect software with never one issue.
i have gone even outside and still no 3G signal even though it says on cingulars website that i am within the coverage area for 3G and even tech support said i am within the coverage to get 3G signal.
And as i mentioned i have all ready exchanged my 8525 for a brand new one and also got 2 new 3G sim cards in case there was something wrong with the sim cards.strange really strange..
Hi all,
Sorry if this sounds daft, but I have just been given the tech assult by a Telstra Australia guy.
Telstra uses a "Next G" network that used 850MHz and will state that ONLY phones bought through them will be able to fully utilise the network. Is this a firmware thing (IE, can I flash the radio rom) or a hardware thing? If I bought a device from anywhere else would I be able to utilise the speed of the "Next G" network? If not, what features would we be missing?
Cheers
Al
Frequncies is a hardware thing
some phones support that band as it's also used in usa you can check the wiki for the phone in question
if you have a quad band phone with 850 MHz, it should work ontelestra, the only features that might not work on it are features that have been cooked into the rom. Phone and generic features will work as the are standard to all hardware types.
If your phone is 3g capable, yes you will be able to use their updated 3g as the attachment to allow their network to work on your phone will be on a telstra sim card.
Is there any update out there to allow the Wing to access 3G? When I tether my wing to my laptop, sometimes I get 3g speeds and others I don't. Is there an update that will allow us consistant access?
Tmobile 3g.... No, completly different band, no hardware support.
ATT 3g..... Perhaps you would need to unlock it and try an ATT sim
you can't get 3g at all on the wing. 3g is based on a hardware radio, and the hardware radio that we have only supports edge and gprs. If you want 3g, you will have to get a different phone, one with an actual 3g radio. By 3g speeds on your laptop, that just means "unusually fast"
I was hoping there was a software or firmware update that would allow us access to the 3G band. I was sure if it was out there you guys would know.
My Aria doesn' t pickup 3G connection i am using at&t rom until I can root it does anyone know if the problem is because os AT&T software I am connected to Portuguese carrier TMN.
The AT&T version of the Aria does not support the 3G frequencies that TMN uses. This basically means there is no way to get 3G data speeds with this phone on that carrier. However you should be able to get 2G data and voice calls without a problem.
Unfortunately installing a new ROM will not fix this issue. There's nothing you can do about it.
And is there any chance of changing the radio firmware so it would support it?

Nope, sorry. It's a difference in the hardware, not the software.
There are two "versions" of the HTC Aria/Liberty/Gratia. The A6366 which is the AT&T Aria and supports 850/1900MHz 3G bands, and the A6380 which is called Aria or Gratia depending on the region and supports 900/2100MHz 3G bands. It should say underneath the battery which version you have if you want to be certain. You would need the A6380 to get 3G to work in your area.
Guys, anybody knows if really have any "real" difference between the E900 and E900h versions?
I am asking this because I own an Orange-FR E900 and as widely said, this version doesn't support UMTS 850. Even in the box of my handset only shows "WCDMA 900/1900/2100, GSM 850/900/1800/1900".
But I never had any problem using it anywhere I went in the American continent, even before I flashed it with the Open-EU ROM.
With the original French ROM, I had used it both in 3G and 3G+ successfully here in Brazil with Vivo, Oi and Claro SIMs (all UMTS 850/2100), in Argentina with a Personal Telecom SIM (UMTS 850/1900) and Canada on Fido (UMTS 850/1900).
Now with Open-EU ROM and the Tim SIM (UMTS 850/2100), I performed a simple test on Band Settings. With "WCDMA 850" set, I got the "3G" sign at the Status Bar, and with "WCDMA 2100" I got the "H" sign that replaced the "3G+" from the previous ROM.
So I'm guessing what is the deal here? Luckily I got one "factory all-unlocked bands" or all those "Euro-Spec / American-Spec" thing is just bs they told to us to avoid "bootlegging"?
Where did you get the OPEN EU ROM?? I can't find it.
As you know I am having problems connecting to UMTS 850 here with Claro Peru and I think is due to a software (ROM) lock or stuff like that and I wanna re-flash my phone E900 using the OPEN EU ROM.
Please, give me the URL to get the ROM. Did you get some issues with the new ROM? maybe camera or marketplace access?
Thank you

I got the ROM and all instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=935578
I recommend you to read the entire thread before flashing your device. Information is never too much
PS.: Don't try to flash your E900 with an E900h ROM (and vice versa). If you do that, you gonna brick your device.
There are actually very minor differences, between the two. I have yet to compare actual parts models, but here are the sevice manuals, with all individual components teared down and outlined. Take a look, perhaps it would clarify something. The manuals are very long, of course.

Hi, I just got an E900 (It was a gift) I can't get a 3G signal in Telcel's (México) Network which uses a 850/1900 band. The phone is OPEN, is not locked in any form and came from factory with Mango.
I have tried all the possible band configurations through the MFG app but can't get a "3G" signal. Here is the question, is there any possibility to get the phone to work with Telcel's 3G Network or Am I wasting my time?
Best Regards

You are wasting your time, you need an e900h to get UMTS or 3G on the 850mhz band.
I've got both an used unlocked Vodafone E900 (carrier still says Vodafone - how do I get it to open) and a brand new Telus E900h with me and can't decide which one to keep.
E900H will have to be unlocked and it's asking me for PIN right now. But it has 850 signal and since I'm using Tmobile US with it I should be able to get 3G. With the E900 I'll only be able to get Edge on T-mobile unless if I switch to ATT but they're pay as you go plan isn't as nice.
But it seems that you aren't able to get internet sharing to work on E900h since Telus hasn't released it. That option is available to E900.
Are there any other differences? Which one should I keep? I've a tendency to lose phones but I don't think I'll want to keep both around.
