According to Club-imate, the 1.66 rom update should be released sometime next week for those who are registered on their site.
Is that upgrade going to have the WM Second Edition in it.
Great, that's club I-mate, but what about Carrier Devices in Australia.
The tech support on their site in non-existent. Compare it to O2. I have emailed them twice about the update with no answers at all. In the past I have asked them about the updates posted at club I-mate and they have told me that these are for their Middle East customers only!!!???
I doubt very seriously that 1.66 will include the SE functions. I would expect at least a couple of months for them to tweak it for the imate before releasing it (if they ever do)
If the Club i-mate site recognizes your IMEI, the update will be for you. Carrier Devices have both English and Arab ROMs available (only the 1.52 ROM at the moment), so the information about Australian ROMs that you were given is incorrect, gbvb.
And no - despite the rumour, I believe it won't be Second Edition, which is why I haven't posted it to XDA Developers news as yet. I'd prefer to report on what it has when it comes out ;-)

Hi, just spoke with Suzan at the clubimate site and she confirmed that the new ROM update for Imates will be released in a week's time and will have the WM2003 Second Edition. That is great news and looking forward to it.

This ROM does not have the Windows 2003 SE. I just got the device (2 days ago) and I can assure you it does not contain this newest version of 2003 SE OS. It is simply too early for it to actually have it, as it was just released.
As for why the Device came with the ROM and the Club I-mate has not updated their site yet to download it for club members... this is anyones guess.
Maybe they are having troubles in the "Automated download-- Installation fault free as to not destroy devices" category....

Irelans O2 Upgrade
I applied this to my UK XDA a week ago and all is OK.
Beware that the instructions on the update web site differ to those you get when running the upgrade. the site says leave connected but the update says to remove the power connector. I made sure my XDA was fully charged and removed it from the cradle when prompted. The upgrade ran perfectly and I am now on the following versions
ROM 3.14.13 ENG
ROM Date 10/09/02
Radio Version 3.14

Instructions will be on the O2 site along with the upgrade software (well it is on the O2 Ireland site). It does seem that a small number of xda's have been "fried" when trying to run the upgrade. Well, I think thats the risk you take and it's covered under warranty so you'll get a new xda if it does "fry".

I`m not sure if this is the latest ROM but I don`t see why not..
UK versions listed are: Radio stack 4.08 & Radio unit 3.14.13, Eire are 4.14 & 3.14.13, and someone else said Netherlands have more upto versions that that.

Well it's not just about numbers... 3.16.13 and 3.16.43 are "older" than 3.15.15 in some ways. 3.14.13 can be "newer", but I'm not quite sure why is it numbered this way...

In the meantime I upgraded to the Qtek 1.72 (at leats Radio & OS) I custom build a Extended Rom that fulfills my needs AND had the NL T-Mobile settings in it

English Customization
I have an I-Mate that I just received 8/3, and have successfully flashed to ROM version 1.72 from Club I-Mate. The question I have goes towards a 2nd, ~6 meg file that I was also supposed to flash on to my I-Mate. Does anyone know what THAT update is supposed to do? I've posted the same question in the Club I-Mate forums, but have not received an answer after two or three days.
The reason I am asking is because my I-Mate seems to be working just fine without the 2nd update, though it does seem to be going through charges quickly, and its radio (phone) reception is poorer that the original XDA I Was using.

So what is 1.66.00WWE ???? Came with some XDAs that we received a couple of months ago.
We have "issues" with a 3rd party application and we have 1 unit that is 1.60 & seems problem free, so in the process of elimination..
Can you backwards flash the ROM?
Any issues with 1.66 if known?
Oh & ext ROM is 1.66.181 which is in contravention of website's "latest" version...

Newer versions of the XDAII contain a different LCD display to the earlier versions. Basically the only difference between 1.60 and 1.66 is that 1.66 contains a display driver for the new LCD panel (plus one or two other small and "non-essential" items like a Cleartype tuner) and as such O2 are not releasing it for public consumption.
The next O2 release will be 1.72 which is due to be released soon and will contain drivers for both types of LCD panel.
Interesting... I currently have the 1.60.00WWE ROM on my XDA 2 and O2 informed me that the version currently available for download is 1.60.50WWE, which incorporates WM2003 Service Pack 1, plus a Java update. They could not tell me what Service Pack 1 added/fixed and also said that if I installed their later version, my phone could become locked again... Now I see that 1.72 is on the way, I think I will wait. Any idea on timing??

My Artemis (HTC P3300 version) just arrived It came with ROM version 1.12.405.1 WWE. Radio version 02.67.90. Is this the latest official ROM version please?
