Hi,
Newbie question. When I tap Active -> My XDA -> Connections. The country always shows Germany (I live in UK). When I try to set it to UK, the system reboots but the setting is still Germany :?:

Hi to all,
i live on the border between switzerland and france, which means that if i don't control roaming i am dead!
on the QTEK 9100 (rom 2.8.7.1) i can set my preferred networks (SET NETWORKS) in automatic mode, but every time i soft reset this information is lost. does the same happen to you? do you understand why?
yes often happens to me and dont know why. these settings should be stored with the network provider not on the handset so maybe its a network problem!?

As far as I know they should be stored on the SIM. There is a problem with some devices either ignoring the preferred networks list entirely, or loosing the settings (as they are SIM-locked by the provider so the saving to SIm fails silently).
Check with your SIM/Network provider - they will be able to tell you if you can change the settings or not. On some networks, and with some SIMS you just can't.

hi just got a new hd2. Powered up and went through the wizards and didnt make any other changes. The problem i have is i cant make a phone call.It just sits pauses for a second and i hear beep beep beep and returns to the homecreen. It shows full coverage and i tried my wifes sim and same issue . We are with meteor in ireland . Any ideas
Have you checked to make sure that Meteor is chosen as your preferred network. I do not have the HD2 with me now, but you can check through the phone settings to make sure.

I'm guessing you either bought the phone from Meteor or it is unlocked? it's not locked to a different Operator? (just a thought) Was Meteor in the list of Operators when you did the setup (Comms Manager and select Data Connection - correct countryand service provider should be shown). Also, under Phone / Options is your network type and Band Frequency set to auto?
Do Meteor have settings that could be sent to your device? I'm not an expert, just some points for consideration. Hope you get it sorted.
ok heres an update.
i meant to mention that the phone is simfree.
I have tested the phone with a vodafone sim and it works fine.
I have put back in my meteor sim and it sometimes it works but shows the roaming symbol.
Meteor in ireland use vodafone as a backup if they fall out of coverage
but i know there is meteor coverage here cos my n97 with cell info turned on tells you if you are with meteor or vodafone. So as far as i can make out it does not allow me to join the meteor network.
I rang meteor and they were useless and had not got a clue.
where do i go from here
in phone settings change automatic preffered network to manual and choose meteor it should solve your roaming problem
thanks for the replies .
i have discovered when i try to select meteor in phone settings it does not allow me join the network
upgraded to latest rom and all sorted
Hi,
I rooted my X10 the day it was released, but never put my simcard in it (N900 user).
I did today, went to google maps (and all other) and no network.
Went I got the X10 (Last Friday I think), when I put in my SimCard the SE based software automatically setup my network.
Could you please help get my networking back?
I need my 3G!
GSM works for basic sms and calls.
My network is:
OPTUS Pre Paid (Australia)
Please!!
You probably need to enter the APNs in Settings->Wireless->Mobile Networks. I think the optus ones are listed on the ausdroid website.
Here is PDF for 3G and other settings of OPTUS AU
Keep it simple guys...this is what I did to get my 3G service back up.
Menu button -> Settings -> Wireless controls -> Mobile networks -> Auto Internet settings.
Once you have done that, your X10 will pick up your GSM provider's 3G settings for you.
Alohas for now.
with optus, i normally had to call them...
I'm with Optus too. Just used the automaticAlly detect settings function. Worked perfectly.
Sent from my X10i using XDA App
Hello,
I'm using CM 10.1 (nightly from 20121218) and have a message in the notification: You are connected to a foreign network, click to choose an operator. If I go to the network operators menu, I can choose my operator (Bouygues Telecom) or set to automatic, it does not change anything (and it connects on Bouygues Telecom).
All roaming options are unticked and the state menu displays "no roaming". Everything is working fine, my APN are correct, I can phone and use internet without off-plan but I have this notification message staying there.
My radio is M9615A-CEFWMAZM-2.0.1700.33, my operator is B&You a subnetwork of Bouygues Telecom in France.
