Edit: Oh and the version number is 4.01.16
Wonderful .... pulling it down as I write this....
I needed something to do tonight anyway...

this is the BEST post i've seen this year!!!
they realy should call it 2004 though, dont you think? lol
downloading now, will comment on it later.
Damn, has someone got a number we can enter into the box for D/L?
Oh, nevermind, nobody post their personal phone number or friend's phone numbers... there's an easy way  .
T-Mobile has an email service attached to their customer's mobile phone numbers, so it's [email protected]. So all you need to do is search google for @tmomail.net and you will find a lucky customer who has revealed their legit mobile phone number for your use .

Great - I've started to spread the word:

So, if I don't have an SD card and want to upgrade, will this work via ActiveSync?
My BootLoader is v6.22 and it seems that even with a borrowed SD card I cannot transfer any cooked (or original) ROM images after putting this 4.01.00 ENG T-Mobile ROM over the original - apparently I have to downgrade the BootLoader or something.
Does anyone know if this will work via ActiveSync with my BootLoader and current ROM version?
Thanks...
I've got it up and running, all seems fine. Yay for no more attenuated volume that we had with ATT .

Please read the following thread :

You need the Wallaby bootloader patch, or (more dangerously) downgrade to wallaby 5.15. I did the downgrade which makes life easier, but it's up to you.
The $64,000 question - does this version have wireless modem?

The thread you point to says "For users with Wallaby Bootloader 5.17 version" - does this mean that you followed these instructions with a 6.22 BootLoader and it worked? If so, I'll grab another SD card and try again.
I believe it works the same for 6.22, but sorry I cannot be certain. I'm sure I've read somewhere where people have done it.
Thanks for the information - I'll keep digging around and see what I can find out. If I make any discoveries I'll post them in the forum, as I'm guessing there are many users out there in the same boat.

Putting Rom Back on XDA EXEC

Erm Hope someone can Help.
I managed to Dump my Rom to my SD Card using a utility on this Forum.
I now have a lovely dump.bin file. Whhhooo hooo
Could someone kindly explain in terms that a complete idiot would understand, How do I get this Rom back onto a Device?
I imagine you would use the same program as is used to load new ROM's, I would be very carefull about doing this with your ROM dump though, if the file format is not the same it will either refuse to flash or worse still kill your Universal, If you download the ROM file for your universal from your provider just compare it with your dumped file, I would be very suprised if it was the same.
Also, forgive me asking this, but you dont think you HAVE to put it back because you dumped it do you? Nah, you already know that by dumping your ROM all you did was take a COPY of it, don't you?
After all, why would you want to flash the same ROM to your Universal as it already has, unless you want the dump to fall back to if another ROM you are about to try might fail?
Regards
Heheh Thanks for the info.
What I was trying to do was to pull the Rom off a Vodafone V1640 and slap it on a XDA Exec.
It would be handy if I could manage to do this as, I seem to have become the un official XDA support person for my company.
If its too tricky I will just try to get the V1640 Rom as an exe from somewhere. Its not currently on the Upload area.

May I know how you dump your ROM? What software? Where to get it? Please? I have been searching but could not find it. Thanks.

Anyone have Qtek9000 3UK Rom or Ext ROM contents?

I need to get hold of the 3UK Rom or the contents of theh extended ROM as my mate with an XDA Exec cant access services etc and his videomail is full and killed all his mail! 3 Helpline is useless needless to say!!
Please help!!
Would be nice, however this seems to be like hen's teeth. Have been looking for this myself.

OK change request... anyone with a QTEK 9000 care to look at their registry to see what PIE identifies itself as? Then we may be able to get it working on 3!
Re:
I ve got a 3uk contract with qtek 9000 and i dont mind sharing my rom or my ext rom if u can give me some instructions on how to do it.
I requested such a thing on numerous occasions in the past but noone replied at all.....
I tried to dump my rom as explained in here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=323023 but i m not quite sure if this is correct the procedure.
Anyway m8 if u r interested reply here or send me a PM

just privated you my friend!
Could I get a copy of this as well please??
Ta.

I'll let everyone know if we manage to copy the ROM
there was talk on http://www.3g.co.uk/3GForum/
a while back regarding browser identification and 3 services.
I'd be interested in the contents of the extended rom. Should be easier than dumping the rom - just a case of unlocking/unhiding it with the tools from this site, copying the contents with ActiveSync or using an SD card, then zipping it and posting it to rapidshare or the xda ftp.
That'd do it. It's only the extended rom that's really got the changes in.
To unlock the ext rom have a look Here

3 ExtROM
Hi,
Fantastic idea... i'm looking for 3 ExtROM for a cuple of months....
The main ROm doesn't matter, we can find the usefull things in Ext.ROM.
Just unlock your ExtRom and take a copy from that what you can find on it.
Pls. post it where you can upload the ExtROM. FTP of xda-dev?

Need Help regarding dead Athena (bootloader only)

First of all sorry If I missed any info already posted on forums, I've spent 3 days reading Athena sub forums. And didn't found any truly working solution. Problem is as always - not reading info till last step and then trying, I've tryed to write HardSPL from x7501 to x7500 and got only bootloader possible. If to exactly describe things what I did and what now I need:
1. Phone from Netherlands - wanted to change language, so needed HardSPL (orig. spl was ~1.02 if remember correctly)
2. Wrote x7510_HSPL365 (heh, why do I did that ) After got only bootloader but had HardSPL.
3. Then wrote x7510_3_05_stockSPL_ForWarrantyOnly.zip (most stupid thing I did in few year I think ...)
As a result I have now ATHE100 with SPL 3.05.000 And even can't write native ROM (Advantage_HTC_NLD_2.21.404.1_1.50.00.00_Ship.zip) because phone writes that ROM is for 1.02 SPL and my SPL is 3.05, Downgrade not allowed.
Using mtty - I have Level = FF (Not hard SPL)
Any chances to revive?

Hi.
Could you upload the rom you have and put a link in the wiki as a few people in the last 6 mths have been unable to find it.
In regards to your problem I suspect you need to talk to cmonex
Try sending a pm
Sure, I will post link tomorrow, will put to rapidshare ... and regarding disturb of cmonex, maybe bad idea, as seems man busy a lot. Maybe someone had already same (similar) situation and will see this thread Also maybe there is possibility to remove from rom file any SPL headers or something that Athena won't check them or something, as no difference if to try from windows or sd card flashing, same story - SPL version too low.
p.s. Yeah, I've searched for that file also few hours starting from this forum But google makes miracles sometimes (usually)
p.s.s. Link on wiki updated, file available for download again.

thanks for uploading the file.
good luck with the unbricking
100+ views and nobody knows nothing ;( seems last chance really to disturb cmonex ;(

Maybe any news from anybody? As Cmonex was only interested in 'Donation' and after payment was done he haven't found any single minute to help me nor to respond to my messages ;( Maybe someone have tool to create Gold card for Athena device?

Windows Mobile 6.5 for BA's little bro

I was wondering if it would be possible to take a BA Windows Mobile 6.5 rom and put it on to a Harrier/PPC-6600.
I'm sure this has been asked before, I just haven't found it.
I believe the only differences between the two devices are:
Harrier: BlueAngel:
64 MB ROM 96 MB ROM
No WiFi WiFi
CDMA GSM?
We could remove the WiFi module/software and then we wouldn't need the extra 32MB of ROM (hehe because I'm sure it would take 32MB ).
I have little programming experience (conversational in Flash, a few words in Python) but a fair knowledge of computers and I do have a Harrier so I could test it out(provided there's less than a 50% chance of bricking it) and help out to try to get it working if I had instructions.
Is this possible or should I just stick with WM 2003 SE?
If this question has been asked 3428930480328 times, then I apologize.
Thanks in advance .
It actually has been asked before
Next time you have questions, please post them in the Q&A section. Opening new threads is only for contributions to the forum (roms, kitchens, themes, etc).
To answer your question, no one has been able to port anything over 2003 to the Harrier. There are many major differences aside from the ones that you have already mentioned, which are substantial in the first place. Hope this answers your question.
It can be done you would just need to write a bootloader from scratch, one which can support wince 5.0.
What are the other major substantial differences?
A previous post from GnatGoSplat suggested that the following steps should make a GSM ROM work on a CDMA phone.
To make this work, you would have to:
1. Dump your WM5 ROM.
2. Separate dump into SYS and OEM packages.
3. Extract XIP.
4. Build new XIP with WM6.1 MSXIPKERNEL.
5. Build new IMGFS with new WM6.1 SYS folder.
6. G'Reloc the entire ROM.
7. BuildOS to create a dump.
8. Use Tadzio's tools to create a .bin, then to a .nb file.
9. Flash the .nb file.
This is sure to work, but isn't simple to do. If you're new to ROM cooking in general, you'll have a lot to learn before you can even attempt this. I've been cooking ROMs for 4-months and I still have a lot to learn.

I'd really like to get this to work. I have the time to donate and I'm a quick learner.
Are the steps shown above accurate in this context?

Here is the thing... WM5 was never ported to the Harrier, so going from WM2003, you need to do something far substantially different to what you described.
Again, it has not been done. I am not saying it is impossible, but no one has done it.
Update and some questions
After much research and screwing around lol, I attempted to extract a Harrier rom using xda3nbftool.exe . Unfortunately, using the password "0x20040521" gave me the "WARNING: this does not look like a nbf header, possible you provided the wrong password" error.
So, I compared it to a BlueAngel rom that WOULD extract using a hex editor to try and figure out what the difference was, and at the address 0x20040521 (I assumed that's what the "password" meant), there is no difference.
In fact, there are NO differences after 12MB in the file. That means AT LEAST 20MB of a Harrier ROM is IDENTICAL to that of a BlueAngel rom.
It's not like there's even 12 MB worth of differences - there's far less than that. I would guess around 5 or 6 worth. What I said was that 12MB into the file, there are none. In that 12MB, there are similarities still - I'm just too lazy atm to total it up
Anyway, that was just to prove how similar the Harrier is to the BlueAngel for some more support over here on the CDMA side of things (although that 20MB of similarity is probably just Windows Mobile 2003SE ).
My question is, why won't xda3nbftool.exe produce a usable result if the address it looks at is about 6.6 MB after the end of differences and start of 100% similarity?
Also, I have my own Harrier's rom dumped (using d2s, haven't done anything to it after that). How do I turn this into a nk.nbf file or split it into SYS and OEM? I've done much googling. The things I've tried so far have failed.

Since it seems that you are really inclined into making this work... I guess I can try to point you were you can get more info since I don't know much about porting stuff myself
Check in the Himalaya section. There is a porting guide (I believe by Ather90), which goes into a lot of the stuff that you are asking about. Unfortunately for us, cooking nbf files is a lost art and very few people in this forum will be able to help you (Da_G probably being one of them)

Lots of us waiting for such thing. Good luck!
Sorry to bump the thread, but now my real world things have came to an end with exams being over and such.
I sent a private message at the beginning of this month to Ather90 and Da_G but neither of them have replied. If anyone has any suggestions or advice, please let me know.

Da_G has been somewhat absent lately and (my mistake) Ather90 is now Ather. Try to send him a message and see if he replies.
