My problem is that my screen goes flashing off and on when i want to toggle the screen off by some program..(windows media player for example).. when i press the key mapped to toggle the screen the screen keep turning on and off on very speedy.. i keep pressing the key for "?" times till it completely off.. the ? is not a fixed number.. it's sometimes 3 or 4 or 5 or 10 or maybe more...
it's very annoying.. do you know anything i can do that will avoid me a hard reset??
Best Regards
i did a hard reset and got the same problem.. though i didnt have this problem earlier..
what do you think??
Perhaps a work around for your problem is to download and install one of the freeware applications that you allow you to use a software control to turn the screen display of without turning the PPC off?
I did that and it works just fine..
but that's really strange.. i thought it wont work..
well this workaround is enough but i really want to know what happened to my screen..

Hi there!
I have absolutely ridiculous problem with my THD. All of a sudden screen started to act like it is half disabled. In simple words, if a touch some icon on top bar, let's say Start button, click appears on clock. Basically it is looks like touch area displaced by half an inch down. I've tried to calibrate screeen and it seems like it worked for a few minutes and then turns back. I had to hard reset the whole thing and it did not help either. All images, icons, screen items appeared correctly on screen. Bottom menu bar responses correctly though.
I did not drop the phone if it will give a clue.
Anyone knows what the hell is that and how to fix that problem? Please help.
Thank you.
Anyone? Please...
sounds like you need to re align your touch screen. you need to go to Start>Settings>System>Screen then align screen
If you cant get to this then a Hard Reset might be the only way to go
Nothing is working. Now I cannot even get past screen alignment. Looks like it can be a hardware problem.
u may have to hard reset
then after that if it still wont work then u may need a replacement
Yeah. It sound like it is. Jast called HTC support, did hard reset again and after few minutes it is back to that misalignment. Damn...
Connected to ActiveSync and have you got 'My Mobiler' running? I noticed some strange screen behaviour with that on the Device and the host PC.
try pressing both volume keys and tapping the screen at the same time(volup + voldown + tap the screen) --- it will get you to align screen mode if that doesnt work then maybe you have some problems while flashing a rom or something!

I am having the same problem, it started suddenly somedays ago. I realized that when I hard rest it works fine for some time and then slowly left side of the screen stops responding, after a while only right side react to touch so you cannot access START menu nor anything else from the whole screen, just the left corners.Any solution?
hello ive searched everywhere is there an app or tweak for hd2 im annoyed that when on a call i keep pressing the on screen buttons is there anything i can do to stop this thanks..
The light sensor on the HD2 should turn the screen off automatically so that you don't press anything. That being said maybe you have a problem with your sensor so make sure it works, if it doesn't then try flashing another rom or call HTC.
Hope this helps.
master reset

you try a master reset befor you anything bigger in your phone, sometimes is always very easy but since you can't find it just do a master reset.
start,-settings-security-factory reset hope this work
same problem here, hard reset didn't change anything.
maybe you want to try this (stops working after soft reset, until i re-install) or this (also doesn't work right for me).
maybe one of theses two works for you.
the last option would be to go to \Windows\Lockscreen and rename the "LS_PhoneCallScene_480x800.cpr" (brings back the default wm 6.5 lockscreen) and then lock the device (windows button --> lock) on each call.
This app can help you.

Sometimes the un-lock screen doesn't work ... I scroll down with my finger but the unlock screen doesn't disappear, it stay on the screen and i can "move" it up and down forever ...
the power button do nothing ... so i must remove the battery to power off my htc hd mini!!
Any other user have the same problem?
There is a "fix"? :|
Tnx a lot!
Virtual
Me too, It's appear randomly. Very annoy
I'm beginning to realize HD mini is one very buggy device.
Never had that problem, not with original ROM not with custom.
Have you tried hard reset? or flashing newer/custom ROM?
Just reset the device.
This problem occurs when you uninstall some apps which are related to phones user interface like themes or any custom lock (iPhone like lock/unlock screen) applications.
yes, it happens sometime.
This is normal issue of windows phone (like hang up issue).
soft reset will fix it or remove battery, put it back & re-start.
never met it with official ROM..
Finally, It happen when listen to the music with Music Tab for a while. It's not only lock screen problem but it's also
-Can not turn device off
-Proximity's not working
It's all happen when I play music in music tab.
my wifes mini does this all the time ! very anoying, once the screen is locked and the screen goes blank. when you press the power button to use the phone nothing happens, you have to pull the battery out everytime, she is getting very frustrated with this, so if anyone does have a solution please let me know....
After the Mango Update my Optimus 7 wakes up everytime i press the home button. This also happens in my pocket or phonesleeve because the button sticks out. So the screen is all day long on and drains battery like hell....
Is it possible by, for example, a register hack to disable this? so that my screen stays of and only be activated by the button on top.... and saves my battery?
I would like to know this also....
Anybody??
My phone never activated in my pocket because this button controlled by the light sensor
You're right.... 8-0
I never noticed this, because when I get the phone out of my pocket it is always on (I inadvertently press this button when getting it out of my pocket). As I understand now it is switching on at that moment... I want to switch off this button because of the spontaneous rebooting problem of the phone. This was introduced on my phone after updating to mango (7720). I must say, since updating to 8107 this has not reoccurred.
As long as this problem does not reoccur I don't really need to switch off the windows button as a 'on' switch.
Mine doesnt reboot on itself. But it eats battery as i wear it in my pocket all day.... and that sucks...

You may try to put your finger on the light sensor and try to press the home button .If this activate the phone is wrong .
Cool dude,.... didnt know that! it works as it should be. When i cover the sensor en press the home button the screen stays "of". I will try and find out if this helps when its in the phonepouch or pocket....
Maybe when i dissable the sensor in settings, that will help to...
Keep u posted

That doesn't work

First I noticed that my Lock button doesn't work anymore. When I press it, nothing happens. I thought it's a bug or something so I flashed different Roms but the problem still exists...
it is not a hardware problem, because i can hard reset my device normally.
When the phone goes to stand-by mode, it stays off for one second and then it turns the screen and backlight back on. That runs my battery out quite quickly.
I have searched forum for this problem, but did not find any answer.
Is there a solution for this??
the same problem here!!!
have someone an idea?!
I've had the same problem with my Omnia i8000.
But my Phone will come back on only if I am listening to Music.
Does this happen to you while listening to Music ? If Yes, then just turn the volume one step down. Thats a workaround I've found for my phone.
has anybody fixed this issue on their omnia pro yet?
i am facing the same issue, the screen is always on as the lock key doesnt do anything....the only time the screen shuts off is when using the touch music player after 60 sec.(backlight setting when phone not on external power)......screen turns on when the song ends.....hard reset to factory settings doesnt fix the issue......plz help if u hv a solution figured out....thnx

Amazing... You are my lifesaver...I have been facing this problem since last one month.
Your idea worked for me but can you tell why this problem occurs? and this is a temporary solution...Is there any permanent solution to this problem?
Greetings to all. I had this problem for a while. I solved it with 2 programs - the first is AEButton and the second Smart Lock. I mapped the W&L button to "lock device"(AEButton). After that going to SmartLock ticked: Lock screen and then stand-by. In this way I used the W&L buttons as lock key. Worked for me, hope it works for you!
P.S. I am using custom rom without the touchwiz interface, I dont know if that makes any difference!
EDIT: It fixes the issue partly...the screen pops out every 20 seconds or so.... Seems to me it is a hardware problem. Flashing with different ROMs doesn`t seem to work.
