Hello everyone,
I am a french guy who just purchased a XDA in Singapore. I have learnt that PPC 2003 upgrade will not be available from O2 themself.
Nevertheless, after reading some of the forum messages, I understand that some people have achieved to upgrade their XDA with the new Microsoft Mobile system.
Can someone explain me an easy and secured way to do it? (I am sorry but I am not highly skilled in that kind of process)
My device information are as follow :
ROM version : 3.14.17 ENG
ROM date : 10/11/02
Radio version : 4.17
Protocol Version : 32S54
Model No. : PW10A1
Does the PPC 2003 compatible with Asian XDA?
Thank you for your answer, even if you advise me to remain pleased with the actual version I own (better for me to keep my PDA under function if the upgrade requires a lot of how-know or can create a lot of troubles)
warm regards,
Laurent

Hi
your device is locked and designed to use 900/1900 MHz networks.
if your network doesn't support 900 MHz, don't bother yourself with this device.
in case yes, try to unlock using this tool www.xda-developers.com/XDAunlock/
if doesn't work, then u have to flash ur ROM with the SER 1.2
Do not try to mislead people!
The XDA-developers unlocking Tools cannot work with USA version XDA (GSM 900/1900) when the XDA upgraded to 2003 OS's radio stack (T-mobile Radio 6.25 or Siemens Radio stack A33).
I have developed new tool to unlock them~!

Hi all.
first question:
last year I've upgraded my O2 XDA to Radio stack ver.4.21.00 and to 4.00.05 ENG ROM version (MS PocketPC 4.20.1081 Build 13100)
Is there a new upgrade version available?
second question:
do you know EDGE technology (evolution of GPRS)?
TIM, italian cell phone operator, has just start EDGE connections with mobile phone NOKIA 6230
EDGE runs at 200k/bit (GPRS only 57k/bits...)
Is there a patch for XDA radio stack?
thanks all.
Marco
last edge were up somebody said it could only be supported by new hardware and that went for all gsm phones
edge support were something they had to be born with no software could change that
about latest xda1 rom then

Dear All O2 mini fans in HK,
Present, O2 Official release ROM 1.1.1 for HK o2 mini user, go there download the New ROM.

Oh yes, I upgraded too. Using original cheap O2 bluetooth headset sounded very clear and no power off effect. But when I used my Jabra 250V, still cracking.
Is it English version, Simplified Chinese version, or Traditional Chinese version?

Does anyone have any idea what is different in this ROM? I mean, does GPRS finally work, does the camera finally take good pictures? My guess is NO.

It all seems to work fine on my mini, although I have had one minor problem, for which I have posted a message here.
hi to all!
i got some questions:
1. Are the Wallaby's upgradable to WM2005?? And if NO then why? will there be a release for the phone edition, and why release for the other non phone edition ver only? Dose it have to do with the Memory? 32 too little, min 64?
2. i have T - Mobile Wallaby Model: PW10B1, MS Pocket PC Ver. 4.20.0 (Build 13252), ROM Ver 4.01.16 ENG, ROM Date 02/04/04.
- the question is.......what ver of 2003 is this? SE or just 2003?
thanks.
Releasing An OS particularly the WM2005 (MAGNETO) is a choice of OPERATORS not by the Microsoft .. Microsoft done more than a dozen version of WM2005 for almost all devices and i believe they have no rights to release it in public unless for beta testing which is only for a particular person or group, they leave it to the OEM if they will released it or not ..
as we see a Discontinued product are most likely not supported with all new features and upgrade .. OEM loose all its interest on giving there time and effort for a OS version upgrade that they no longer sell and only concentrated on the newer that they will SELL..
we cannot expect an OFFICIAL release for OLD Discontinued Devices including WALLABY and HIMALAYA ..
HIMALAYA and Typhoon user are just lucky that someone managed to leak it for distribution .. but this leak version is not official and prohibited .. and believe it some people are sometimes risking for this copy .. (dont ask why plss)

It's just WM2003.
There is a ROM Version 3.04.00 that is WM2003SE. But there are some problems with this ROM. Only big difference between WM2003 and WM2003SE is the landscape mode. So I would suggest stay at your working ROM version....
