my internet connection trough bluetooth using my pc

Hello I have a big problem. I bought an bluetooth dongle and i cant connect my QTEK2020 to my pc via bluetooth. I tried to set a lot of settings but i just can not do it.so i need help. If anyone knows the exact settings for qtek2020 and MSIbluetooth dongle . thanx
goran from slovenia
I had a damm similar problem as i could not sync the device via bluetooth.
I have an XDA2 and upgraded my rom to the o2 release from last week. I was hoping that all the serial profile issues would have been resolved in respect to bluetooth gps, but it just made things worse as there are no obvious setting in which i can assign a serial profile to a particular port or even get activesync to work no matter what.
So finally I gave in and downloaded the Bluetooth Tools by Towas again and installed them. Straight away my xda2 was bonding with my gps again and when u add ur pc as a new device (new bonding), under the bluetooth tools u simply select activesync. then u can straight away sync initiated by the xda2 and once a connection is established, u get automatically internet access.
another issue was that my bluetooth software on the pc created too many 'dummy' serial com ports for bluetooth which didnt actually work, so i ended up removing them all under the device manager (windows system- hardware) and then setting up a new bluetooth serial port on my pc (make sure u set up just one).
get the bluetooth tools from:

Yeh, 15 serial ports my bluetooth dongle software set up on my pc, whats all that about, greedy or what?
15  !! Haha..
I only have 1 I think

XDA2 / TOMTOM bluetooth GPS

Totally new at this game! Just bought XDA2 and been given tomtom bluetooth GPS (no instructions) how do I bond it with the xda, it asks for device pin, but you can not input anything in to the GPS (and I dont know the pin if it does need one)
Thanks in advance.
to my knowledge pin of tomtom gps receiver is 0000 which you have to enter on your xdaII, not on the receiver.
i don't know which ROM you have but if it is less than 1.72 you probably have to install bluetooth tools to be able to assign serial port. not for the bonding, but for being able to communicate.

but try it first without
If you are using the TomTom software it will configure all the ports for you automatically. Yes the GPS reciever is 0000. It asks for this Number when you bond "New" device.
Good luck
Chris
Thanks guys. I did need the down load.
It now connects happily.
On my ppc you have to uncheck the accept incoming beams IR option in the connections tab in control panel. On mine these frees up the com port and then tomtom allows you to select the correct one.
Might be the same on yours
Cingular 8125 & TomTom GO 910
Is there anyway to pair these two for use of the GPS features? They find each other as far as the TomTom acting as a Bluetooth headset (albeit a bad speakerphone), but it would be nice to have the GPS functions on the phone as well.

BT GPS Pairing is hanging HTC

I'm having a strange problem:
I bought an PS-3100 BT GPS reciver and I am unable to pair it with my HTC.
When I try to pair it, I am asked for a password (acording to the GSP reciver manual it is 0000). I will allways get an autentication error, and I am asked for the password again and again. if I leave it blank, a message apears telling me that the GPS reciver wants to make a connection with the HTC and asks for a password again. this time, if I put a password there (any pass, be 0000, or 1234 or whatever), the BT app will hang. The pda is still usable, but the BT page stays hung!
I'm running the latest imate firmware. I tried with the beta and the one after that (the most recent). I tried with another GPS reciver (same model) just in case it was faulty. Same thing...
I'm out of ideas?
anyone can help?

Universal + BlueTooth GPS problem, help

Dear Htc fellows,
My bluetooth GPS is working strange on my Universal, but on iPaq with
WM2003 works as a charm. The BT GPS is new Solar GPS with new Mediatek
chipset.
It's not working with iGo 2006 and even not Tomtom 5 or Tomtom 6.
I can find the BT GPS in BT manager, I can pair it, but I dont know why,
it needs a pass key even if it shouldn't. Then when I explore it's
services, The popup come again asking me if I will allow external BT
device to connect to my Universal and it come asking passkey again (Why?).
I can't even enter an empty passkey (bt device doesen't require it). After that I have successfully paired the device. I can add it's serial port to enumerate on com ports 8 or 4.
When I start Tomtom, it doesent detect the device at all. If I use iGo, it detects, gets datas and disappear, it's allways appeared for 1 second and then 5 seconds not. No matter Which bitrate I set (device is written to be 9600) it needs to be in NMEA protocol, not SIRF.
When I use some freeware GPS programs, it seams to be working ok, it shows satelites and it's not disappearing.
What can I do with that???
I have some idea that it's probably about WM5 and it's security....
How can I setup com security in registry? can I set the port speads manually atd... I had performed a hard reset and it still don't work. Can ROM update or AKU update help me?
Does anyone have some idea what should I try now?

Could you find a solution??
Hi,
I have the same problem exactly and could not find anything on the net. Did you solve your problem?
well ...
i know that there is a problem with GPS and WM5 and so there is this patch which i install every time i hard reset .....
the guys i bought MY GPS from gave me this ... and they are pretty knowledgable .....
it works well ....
try it !
tried
My OS version is WM2003 but tried anyway.. Did not work.. can there be version for WM2003??
did you ?
did you define an outgoing com port for the device (com 4 for example ?)
com port definition
well, igo finds the device an COM 6 actually, it connects too.. but stays connected just for a second, then again and again..
I installed GPSGate and created a virtual com port 7. I manually configured the GPS receiver connection to COM 7 on igo.. But all the same.. :
do you advice another way?
one other thing the device works with navigon 5.0 and tomtom 6.0 smoothly, no problem.. only igo..
well...
IGO is CRAP ... that is well known .... lots of bugs ...
i am sorry .. i do not know how to solve your problem...
but i suggest using destinator 6 ..... (that's what i use) ....
simple ... nice looking .... big buttons and able to navigate to your contacts directly (especially useful if you have Phone Edition)
oh ... and ... works great !
I got the Holux GPSlim 236 GPS. I can pair the GPS with Universial. But I cannot set the com port at all. A pop up window always say the com port (I tried everyone of the ports) is not available.
Any one got a solution, does the GPS bug fix help ? and what does it fix ?
Might seem a bit obvious, but have you tried the code "0000" when pairing your device?
Once paired...did you define an outgoing serial port on "Bluetooth Settings" menu on your WinCE?
I have a royaltek bluetooth GPS and it's been working well with TomTom[5|6]...I use '0000' as passkey (default on many 'non-interactive' devices), once paired I clicked on 'COM Ports' tab and defined a new outgoing port, the wizard should list the GPS as an available device to create a COM port so I used it and I got a 'com0'.
Once the outgoing port was created I had to tell TomTom to use the new 'com0' and worked like a charm
It's been working since TomTom 5.21 (previous versions didn't work).

NOKIA GPS bluethooth connection

hi
I have an magician(Qtek S100), and i buy a Nokia Wireless GPS Module LD-3W.
When i try connect with the buetooth, the magician detects the module, i select it, put the pass key 0000, and the wait cursor stay visible 2minutes...
After that it say that the passkey is wrong but is the correct.
I try connect again and agian and the reseult is the same!
After try many times it connect.
I use the tomtom navigator for the pocket pc, after detect the bluetooth gps, most of the times, the program detects the signal of the satelites so that the pointers are the gray and says “no valid signal of gps”, and the satelite light of the gps stay off,
So, the gps only correctly works sometimes :S !!
I dont know why it happens!
Can anyone telme what is happen??
Thanks,
Psyke
