Wireless modem feature & WM2003 - Networking

I have searched the forums, but found no specific answer...
Are there any efforts to enable the wireless modem feature for the XDA I on Windows Mobile 2003?
A referral to another post would be sufficient too.
Thx, JS

yeh what now? any chance you could ask again a bit more legibly?
In answer to one of your problems (that i could see) user/password for FTP is xda/xda
The FTP site for the wallaby can be found HERE. If you can't getto that, make sure that Port 21 isn't blocked on your router/firewall.
Without meaning to be rude, Malaikah, it seems you're new to this site, the inner workings of your Wallaby and Internet etiquette or 'netiquette'. I strongly suggest that you browse around the forums and read up on past posts, using the search feature if you need to (it seems you might need to as you're asking questions that have been addressed before here). Many people see this forum as a way to help others to help themselves rather than spoon-feeding people instructions (that's what instruction manuals and Google are for!). People who participate in this great online community do so in their own free time and do so without payment so they don't have to help anyone. If you were sitting in a bar and a complete stranger came in and said 'You have to help me fix this now, for free', dumps the device on your table then leaves without saying anything else, I don't think you'd be too pleased, I know I wouldn't!
Check out the top thread here regarding some basic guidelines users of this forum should follow. Last but not least, have a look through the Wiki - there is a wealth of information about the Wallaby there, ROM versions and so on. I'd suggest that you don't even THINK about touching the radio stack on your Wallaby if you're at all unsure about what you're doing.
Sorry to rant on but I'm sure with a little digging, Googling and effort on your part, you'll work out solutions to your Wallaby issues. Self-help is the buzz-word of the day!
Regards,
Neil.

hello, i'm new here

Hello,
today i got my MDA pro.
Now i'd like to knew all about my new "pda".
I upgraded my mda to the Firmware from 12/2005 wich i found on the t-mobile-germany website.
I knew, all the questions i ask here are somewhere answered in this forum, but i think a link-list will help newbies.
My questions:
1. can i really use another firmware from the another provider (o2, orange ...)
2. wich is the "best" firmware?
3. I search some good internetpages about the mda pro/universal where i can find a lot of software. Du you know some pages?
4. Do you have some advices for me (hints, must-have-software...)?
Thanks a lot
Erik
Firstly:
Read This:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=4534
Particularly point 2.
Then read this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=31697
Which is now a bit old and redundant.
Both of the above are always at the top of this forum.
To answer your questions.
1. Yes, lots are available on the Wiki FTP site. Make sure you follow the process and understand if you have a locked phone. I personally dont cross upgrade, and am happy with the imate latest ROM with Push Email. Another is due out soon that will provide bluetooth headsets.
2. "best"!!! sometimes the one with with most functionality is not the most stable. I havent tried the others, and have stayed with Imate. I used to have the O2 XDAII and again stayed with O2, up until we got some hacked Roms that went above and beyond the only supported releases.
3. www.handango.com www.ppcfreewares.com www.buzzdev.net www.lakeridge.com www.spbsoftwarehouse.com
It really depends on what software you want. Just make sure that they are WM5 compatible. There are various forums here that discuss various software and its functionality on the devices.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=32698&highlight=software+wm5+working
is a detailed forum.
4. good advice, monitor these forums daily, make friends with buzz and vijay, be nice to people be good to your mum

XDA trion -> HSDPA upgrade possible w/o O2?

Hi
i am thinking about buying an XDA trion device in Germany - so far O2 Germany has disabled the HSDPA feature. The company wants to enable it through a later firmware upgrade once their service is available.
Now, since i am not using the O2 network and want to use the device on the vodafone network i would like to know if i can enable HSDPA on my own. what do i have to do? is it possible without major risk? can i keep my german language settings?
Please let me know,
Thanks, smarks
Read the wiki

markus
FFS, you say you've read the wiki. So you must have read http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Utils or are you just a little slow ?
thanks, thats what i was looking for. we wasted 2 posts while you could have posted the response immediately
thx, smarks
My first post was sufficient. I only bothered to post the direct link to highlight your lazyness.

Bluetooth PAN Netwrk setup

hi, how to setup Bluetooth PAN Netwrk trougt T-Mobile MDA and laptop. In interne are different manuals but they all reqires Bluetooth PAN Driver on the device. at my device this driver is not installed. How can i resolve this problem? Where can i get this driver?
1. welcome to XDA-Dev
2. your q is answered at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=282780 . IN a word, you need to update to some of the AKU3 ROM's.
3. please make sure if you have a question and you don't find an answer or there're far too many threads to read, do a nick-specific search, looking for the words you look for in the threads I've started.
Thank you. But what is the AKU3 and how can i upgrade?
Cant use the search form becouse the banner cover it

How to get VoIP working

I read through a couplee of posts regarding VoIP on WM6, but am still unsure if I am on the right track to make it work on my Touch2.
I'd like to make it work through the built in dialer/phone app, but don't have the required files as stated in the thread titeld [GUIDE] How to configure VoIP/SIP client in WM6, that's ipdialplan.xml, dnsapi.dll, voipphonecanvas.dll and rtcdll.dll. I also don't have the Internet Calling today item.
As far as I understand it the WM6 VoIP.CAB from the thread titled THIS IS How to get VOIP Working with 3G on Wm6 Trinity should provide me with the necessary files. What I am not sure of is the following - will this cab and the files therein work with the touch2, seeing that the thread is for another phone model (the trinity with wm 6.1)? I really wouldn't like to mess something up that would require a hard reset afterwards. Can anybody help me out?
Edit: the board didn't let me post links to threads, so I put the thread names in the post instead. I hope the gentle reader can be arsed to search the forum to find the relevant threads
