I had a damm similar problem as i could not sync the device via bluetooth.
I have an XDA2 and upgraded my rom to the o2 release from last week. I was hoping that all the serial profile issues would have been resolved in respect to bluetooth gps, but it just made things worse as there are no obvious setting in which i can assign a serial profile to a particular port or even get activesync to work no matter what.
So finally I gave in and downloaded the Bluetooth Tools by Towas again and installed them. Straight away my xda2 was bonding with my gps again and when u add ur pc as a new device (new bonding), under the bluetooth tools u simply select activesync. then u can straight away sync initiated by the xda2 and once a connection is established, u get automatically internet access.
another issue was that my bluetooth software on the pc created too many 'dummy' serial com ports for bluetooth which didnt actually work, so i ended up removing them all under the device manager (windows system- hardware) and then setting up a new bluetooth serial port on my pc (make sure u set up just one).
get the bluetooth tools from:

Yeh, 15 serial ports my bluetooth dongle software set up on my pc, whats all that about, greedy or what?
15  !! Haha..
I only have 1 I think

XDA2 / TOMTOM bluetooth GPS

Totally new at this game! Just bought XDA2 and been given tomtom bluetooth GPS (no instructions) how do I bond it with the xda, it asks for device pin, but you can not input anything in to the GPS (and I dont know the pin if it does need one)
Thanks in advance.
to my knowledge pin of tomtom gps receiver is 0000 which you have to enter on your xdaII, not on the receiver.
i don't know which ROM you have but if it is less than 1.72 you probably have to install bluetooth tools to be able to assign serial port. not for the bonding, but for being able to communicate.

but try it first without
If you are using the TomTom software it will configure all the ports for you automatically. Yes the GPS reciever is 0000. It asks for this Number when you bond "New" device.
Good luck
Chris
Thanks guys. I did need the down load.
It now connects happily.
On my ppc you have to uncheck the accept incoming beams IR option in the connections tab in control panel. On mine these frees up the com port and then tomtom allows you to select the correct one.
Might be the same on yours
Cingular 8125 & TomTom GO 910
Is there anyway to pair these two for use of the GPS features? They find each other as far as the TomTom acting as a Bluetooth headset (albeit a bad speakerphone), but it would be nice to have the GPS functions on the phone as well.

Blue Tooth GPS solution from Club Imate BT Tools Vers. 1012

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your email dated September 17, 2005. To connect the (TOM TOM) GPS system to your device, you need to connect it as a device with navigation facilities and not as a headset. Once you have found the device via Bluetooth on your Imate, tap and hold on it to connect and then access the services. The services will be mentioned and then you need to click on “next” and proceed further with the configuration. After having done so, open the software for the GPS system and then try accessing the same.
Please find attached the Bluetooth Tools for enhancing the Bluetooth capability on your device. Please install the attached file by connecting your device to your laptop/ computer and simply running the file from the laptop itself which will automatically be taken on to your device. Pocket Bluetooth Tools adds the missing Bluetooth functions. This version includes:
· Support for Bluetooth Headsets and Car kits. You may use up to 9 devices at the same time and you do not need to bond the again.
· Support for the SSP profile (serial port), e.g. for GPS receivers or modems
· Support for ActiveSync (synchronization with Outlook and Internet connection)
· Switch Bluetooth on and off automatically
The "Today" screen
The icon on the left activates or deactivates Bluetooth. The clock symbol switches automatic power off for Bluetooth on or off. When activated (white background as in the picture) then Bluetooth will be switch off after 60sec of inactivity.
The two battery icons on the right side let you switch between two profiles for auto power off of the PDA and the back light. For example you may switch to the second mode and adjust the settings to "always on" and "never switch back light off". Thereby you can switch the PDA with one simple to "always on" when you are in your car and want to use GPS navigation.
However, please note that we do not guarantee the usability or functionality of any third party software/hardware with our device and the use is upon the sole discretion of the user.
Regarding the Clubimate user name, please note that this cannot be changed. Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Hmmm, doesn't seem to do anything at all.
BT 1012
I agve not used these since XDA 2 days, way in the past, but you should have more options available to set com ports etc, and the icons should appear on your desktop, (Unless Clubimate reallly sucks)
Nothing on desktop. BT settings are exactly the same as they were before.
Not sure what they are on about TBH. The JASJAR already supports handsfree, BT serial and BT Activesync. :?

Hi mikeycollins13 and rilot,
Agree with you both, I can´t see any diference after the install apart the option of choice a com port. Very sadly the com port don´t show to the other aplications. It worked on the XDA II. Hope that guy Tobias read this posts. He make the Bluetooth tools.

same as xda2 install delete all pairing then soft reset and repair you should get a serial port when pairing the gps

Use internet explorer / MSN over Bluetooth

Dear all,
I've tried almost everything to make a LAN bluetooth network, but no luck so far.
I've paired up my PDA with my PC, but at the end of the wizard I can't select any services, although I have a bluetooth network connection available in 'network connections'.
Is there some driver I need to install first ? I've heard something about 'PAN' for bluetooth wich is necessary for the use of internet over bluetooth ??
Can anyone help me how to do this ??
Oh yeah, I haven't got a XDA based PDA, but a DELL Axim X50v with windows mobile 2005, but i guess this is a general question wich is valid for all types of PDA's ?
Thanks in advance
the ms bluetooth stack dont support PEN
vidcomm does
or you can just connect to activesync then your pda
have the same network access as your pc unless you have
it disabled that is
I've already found the answer. (finally fieuw)
Now I can synchronize AND surf the internet through Bluetooth !!

Bluetooth on HTC

Hi,
What services are normally available when I pair my HTC Diamond 2 with PC?
It seems that only 3 are available:
Personal Area Network
Dial-up Network
Object Push
On Bluesoleil I can see more services but its like my phone cannot provide these services? is that true?
Can I add more services on bluetooth so my phone can provide them when paired with PC? such as mouse, Quick Print or Print, Service, Fax etc..
