I-Mode on the Q-Tek 2020 - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

Is it possible to use I-Mode on my Q-Tek 2020?

Nope...
Sam

Mmmm, I have my doubts.... IMHO it definately should be possible, see:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=5409&highlight=imode
and
http://www.gestoord.com/include/show_item.php?item= 522 &weblog_id=3
With these specs one should be able to get things going pretty easy but I am yet too unexperienced with my new pal to work out how.
I someone finds out.... am very restless...

imode is possible on qtek 2020
I have i-mode access on my qtek 2020.
I set up the gprs connection and proxy (port 5080) like for xda.
PIE does not show all i-mode pages (user agent i think).
I tried EZ wap 2.5 and this one show the start menu http://gprs/....

E-Mail & GPRS & WAP Accounts

Hi all mate,
I need an information: On the qtek 2020 is it possible to set-up multiple e-mail account? :?:
And multiple gprs accounts? :?:
And multiple wap accounts? :?:
I need to know this coz i have more than one e-mail and more than one carrier! :!:
Also, if there isn't any possibility of multiple accounts on WM2003, is there any 3rd party software to solve this "problem"?
Thank you all!
Cya, BYEZ!
try playing with the device it's pretty easy to set up as many emails and grps's as you like
of cause your grps is connected to the phonecompany
so i would guess you would have to change sim to the other company to be able to use their grps
thanks!
this is exactly what I hoped to hear!

Softbank X01HT w/ OpenVPN, any luck?

Hi all,
I've had my phone Englished for the past couple days, everything is working well here.. Japanese input, the works.
I am now attempting to set up the OpenVPN client on the phone so that I can do Yahoo, MSN, etc. I've got it so close that I can taste it, but I'm not quite there. Right now it establishes the connection to my server, and sets the VPN connection up as the default gateway. When I traceroute or ping outside the network, it uses the VPN connection as it should. Even sending UDP packets works (DNS queries to external servers is fine, for instance) -- all has been verified by looking at tcpdump output from the server machine.
However, when the phone tries to send a TCP packet (HTTP, for instance), right away I see a "TCP Connection Error" message, and actually the OpenVPN server never even sees the packet. This is the case with either NetFront or Agile Messenger.
I'm so close I can taste it -- as I said, ping and traceroute work just fine. Has anyone else had any success using OpenVPN?
Thanks,
- awh
I just want to verify -
did you follow MixerSoft instructioned on this web site of how to change Softbank X01HT from Japan OS to English OS, or did you ask Softbank to install English OS your phone? because i'm planning to purchase one in Japan.
thanks in advance.

I used openvpn some time ago and din't had this problems (3G vodfone spain connection, connecting through pocketpc openvpn client to my home linux server), evrything (tcp or udp) was encapsulated in the tunnel and reached the endpoint... i didn't use it for internet access, just to reach my intranet (only routed class C subnet through the tunel).
For what you say the problem seems to be on the OpenVPN server not natting correctly TCP packets, but that's just my guess... To troubleshoot use tcpdump on the server side and these tools on your pocketpc: vxutil, myipconfig and mtoken.
Hope that helps

I don't think that Softbank will install an English OS even if you asked them to. I upgraded the phone myself using a bunch of different information that I found here and there...

I think that you've just coming to Japan, if you live for along time about 3 months, you was not asking like that. You will never get any phone have only English without Japanese, only Japanese is ok!
I a PDA, you can have only one language version, that is Japanese (because the Japanese seem to be very hate English, because it very hard with them). And you cannot ask Softbank to install English OS for you, if you don't like, go away!!!

Problem getting back my pushmail after upgrading to WM6

Hi,
As per the title... I have a problem getting back my pushmail after upgrading to WM6.
I am with SFR. I updated the ROm for the Radio and the whole WM. Went from WM5 to WM6 (3.23). Everything went well. except that when I reinstall the setting for the push mail with the small piece pf software coming from SFR, it doesn not download mail.
Account is created. Network connection is alive. Everything is fine except it does not work... lol
Thanks for your help.
I had the same problem, checked the activesync error code and found that push mail works when activating SSL encryption.
the error code I had was : 0x85010014
But I do not use Activesync to sync my mail. I use pushmail. Liveconnection. Maybe I do not understand your point.
Thanks.
When you say pushmail do you mean you have setup an account in activesync on the device??
Or "pushmail" is a 3rd party software package ??
This is a third party software but that is almost the only feature that worth to have that knif of phone. This is the same thing as a Blackberry mail system. But on a Microsoft OS.
I know we can set it up directly but it is not alwats alive.
So I use the SFR (The phone company) third party to do the job. It works throufh "Visto" company.
I create a network connection based on GPRS that stay connected with the phone company. The mail software is then able to stay connected as it would be for outlook through exchange. The diffrence is that my account is a pop3.
The service for SFR is provided through push.sfr.fr using Visto Technology.
Since the software is not designed for WM6 (it will have been designed for WM5) it may not work as intended. Unfortunatly you may have to wait until a newer version is available.
That is excatly the answer I was hoping not to receive ;-)
Thanks for your help.
I've isntalled the WM6 LVSW Edition 3.23, do you think it may change somehting If I try the others like the black one or the other?
I dont' really know the differences.
I would recommend upgrading to the latest version of LVSW, its based on a newer WM6 build.
To make sure you have all the recommended stuff on your phone follow my guide. This will make sure you have a fairly up to date device
Suggestion for Push mail
Check if the GPRS setting is wap.cingular or isp.cingular. When I upgraded to WM6, I had my GPRS switch to wap, and when I reconfigured it to ISP, my push mail started working fine again.
If you do not know, you can search for the GPRS configuration in this site.
All the best.
Thanks to alll of you.
I was able to get my mail but using the regular Internet account through the WM outlook. It is less efficient than with the live one.
I've alreayd used your guide with the 3.23 version. But it seems there is a new release every 2 days. I see the 27.3 is now out!
What the diffrences between
XDA Live v0.20.x
LVSW (27/3/2007)
VI Black Edition v1.2
Is that all different version of WM6? Should I hang on LVSW?
Thanks!
Can't find the setting about the WAP/ISP for gprs.
And about the upgrade for WM, it seems that I already have the latest.
IS there a new version that kept the same 3.23.0.2?
Thanks.
I'm also having no luck with the Visto software since updating to wm6. It installs fine and seems to run as it always did, even down to it connecting to push.vodafone.net and saying "connected" and displaying my mailbox name. The problem is emails just aren't getting through!
Also, if I go to the mailbox in the messaging program and try to select "New" it just pauses for a long time and doesn't open a new message so I can't try sending messages.
Any ideas? it seems to be almost entirely working, I'm sure there's some configuration that can be done to fix it?
I found a fix!
A new version not-really-yet-released of the SFR Push Mail software. As soon as I did a clean uninstall / install it connnected ans start to download mail!
Where did you get that version from? Is it the standard Visto software? What version is it?
Thanks.
Got it from the Visto support in Paris. the version is ni my signature. This is the Visto software but for SFR only.
If you are stuck without the real push mail, don't forget you can use a regular pop config on your WM outlook using the Internet connection from your GPRS. It is just not as good as the real tool.
The problem is that my 3G/GPRS data is limited whereas the push mail data is unlimited, including attachments. So push is my only real option.
Does anyone know if there is an actual WM6 device on the market yet that I could say to Visto I'm using?
Hi,
I'm having the same problema as you. Upgraded my Tytn to Windows Mobile 6 (LVSW 26-03-2007 version) and now my Visto push email software does not retrieve any email (I have Vodafone Real Mail Service in Spain based on Visto solution).
The service is the same as SFR in France (and others). Please, could you post your application so I can download and use it (I don't mind having it in french).
Thanks and regards
To all,
Please contact me directly if you want to get WM6 compatible VISTO soft for your PPC.
Just tell me exactly what is your OpCo (VF ES, VF ITA, SFR, etc...) and your GSM number.
Regards,
gvernot.

T-Mobile Internet, Working Apps (IM)?

OK so I am new here, but I am not new to mobile devices at all. In fact I was a Mobility Admin in different forums. So please don't get mad at me for posting here. I have some questions. PLEASE don't play the FLAME the noob game. I swear that I searched far and Wide for my answers but have failed to find them.
So my question: is there anyway to tweak the T-Mobile T-zones Internet?
I can:
Connect to the internet
Download Files
Stream Music (orb)
Stream Video (badly[orb])
Use Google Maps
I can't:
Connect To IM servers, I have tried all of the programs. OZ for T-Mo is the only one that works, but it's horrible.
No YouTube, I can live without this but I hope to get it working.
MIDP can't connect.
Basicly nothing, that doesn't connect from, IE works.
----------------------------------------------------
I have played with the Proxy settings and nothing. I know that with my Treo 650 I could connect through VeriChat, but I can't connect on WM6.
Is there a program out there that can help me fix this?
Again I'm sorry if this is a repost, or an overkill of something, but I want to get this stuff working.
Thanks

I do not have an obvious solution but have also seen plenty of similar comments here from others - not just with T-Mobile either. I am using T-Mobile in the UK and have none of your problems.
I obviously had the original T-Mobile Vario II build (WM5) but now have the Black MAJIK build with WM6 and all has been fine with both. Some people directly accuse T-Mobile of blocking their IM, but I have no issue with it - albeit I use it rarely. Of course it "may" be that T-mobile are indeed blocking some services to 'offenders' (IM is not allowed) but I wonder if their system is that capable.
Obvious questions for you are: what OS are you using? Have you changed ANY comms settings from the original T-Mobile build? Have you tried a hard reset to restore original settings (including the all important T-Mobile extended ROM)?
If you still have the original OS ROM build running then you might try installing the configuration .cab files that are stored on the Extended ROM separately - some apply directly to such device settings. Access to that Extended ROM on the WM5 build is easy and you just need an application such as "HTweakC 2.0" (available here). Of course, and as ever, start with backing-up your device - but you will know that.
I hope this helps.
I have VSWL Rom.
I have setup the internet (GPRS) settins like they are suppose to be.
I believe that it is a fact that T-Mo has blocked ports, and has only left http smtp and pop3 open. So my dilema is why did verichat connect on my Treo 650 and not on my MDA or my 8525.
First we need to know if you are in tmobile usa, uk...????
if you are in tmo usa then you can't
if you have the proxies 216.155.165.50:8080 the most you can use is PIE (pocket internet explorer)
the best thing is to get the blackberry $20 dollar add-on plan and just setup without proxys. wap.voicestream.com and you have full internet access.
I am in the USA, and I have the T-zona 5.99 plan.
I am less than reluctant to close my mind for this not to work, since google maps works. and, as I said, on my Treo 650 using verichat worked perfectly.
I don't know what the difference in the way the Treo 650 connected and the way my 8525 connects.
Perhaps the programs that can connect are ones that ones that connect through port 80 and are proxied to 8080.
I am so lost on this topic though.
too many contractidicting points.
such as streamining works on win but not on palm
IM worked on Palm but on Win.

MSN over http

Hi guys,
I have an Imode subscription with BASE (it's a Belgian network), but with imode your traffic is only allowed over the standard HTTP ports (80 and 443). So no other applications for me.
The desktop version of msn allows me to connect over http and so I was wondering if there is a application which allows me to do the same on windows mobile (6), or maybe there's another sollution?
Thanks in advance

You can probably try this http://webmessenger.msn.com/
Thanks,
I know such sites, but I'm looking for an application, as they are more responsive.
Base Data
Hi MRSnowFlake,
I am a Belgian Base user too, why not using a full data plan with base ? They now cost the same price as Imode : 6EUR > 10Mb, this would solve your problem.
If you still want to use imode, and if you understand French, find on this site good hints : http://mobisit.blogspot.com/

it's the best and sponsorised by Belgacom maybe it's usefull for you.

I use Imode because with Imode I can transfer 20mb for €5 instead of 10MB! Plus, at the moment I didn't prolongue my imode 'ticket', but I still have Imode, kinda for free .

I use NDB 9.1 and I always get the wizard too, but I just close it and I still get my own settings!
