you have idea of like reset the call duration?
Good question, what have you tried?
i'm also so interested
Our program 'The Manipulator' can do this, but only to certain RSU versions, and you do need a serial cable.
Manipulator will word with xda2????
any news about this?
hello
The Manipulator works only with XDA 1 only. This program works for radio stack version 4.20 and below it. I tried ver 4.21 It didn't work Due to the high security protection of the new Radio stack upgrade. It's very sad because it very hard to find the old version.
I think that XDA developers don't want to uprade their program because XDA is old and cost of money to keep upgrade program.
Another important thing that i am concern is why they don't develop the radio stack image because the most problem is the radio stack which kill the pocket pc function too.
Now, I I hope thatthey will develope on the XDA 2 not only in Rom but also in radio stack too.
Anyhow, GREAT THANKS TO XDA DEVELOPERS.COM FOR THEIR GREAT WORKS. VERY APPRECIATED!!!
i'd also like to find out how to reset call duration.
would i be correct in saying that the call duration is stored in the ram?
therefore if we drain the external and internal batteries, ram would reset itself since it wouldn't have power to preserve the information.

I think maybe it's incorrect because I've drain all my battery to reset my call duration and it didn't work. Maybe we should try another way.
1) Start the call;
2) Change system time to desired time difference in the past;
2) End the call;

I'm not phased by this.. but, it's still weird.

To all you geniuses that may read this, please help. I've had my XDA 2 for about 4 months. It is O2 Branded but i run an orange SIM card. Having learnt many things from this superb forum i have discovered that usually the answer is to be found. Unfortunately I am worried this time that it may be beyond my skills, and would love any suggestions.
I have had zero problems with the device even through ROM upgrade and unlocking etc. However for some reason from today my speaker works as normal for voice calls even when on loudspeaker mode, yet makes only a slightly muffled click when asked to perform any other sound be it MP3 in the media player, ringtone or simple screen tap. Also i have never even opened the little flap on the headphone jack port. My first thought was defective hardware but if this is so why does it still work on calls (thank god!!)?
I have attempted a hard reset, but no luck it remains the same before and after the restoration of my backup file. Still the same. And obviously i have checked all the settings which are as normal (cos i never changed anything).
I have unfortunately no support as i did not purchase the device through a network, and have since unlocked it anyway.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE if you think you can offer a solution in whole or in part, I will love you forever!!!
The Specs
Sorry forgot to give you all my device details so here they are:
ROM Version: 1.60.00WWE
ROM date: 12/03/03
Radio Version: 1.10.00
Protocol: 1337.18
ExtROM: 1.60.50
Does it make the normal sounds after a hard reset but BEFORE restoring your backup image?
This kind of intermittent/inconsistent problem is almost always related to installed software or file corruption. The only way to be sure is to HR, then test - if the problem is gone, reload your software (one program at a time and test after each installation) to see if the problem reappears. If it does not, it was most likely file corruption, if it does, you'll know which program is the culprit.
HTH!
Thanks for your quick reply BR,
Did try the sound after the hard reset and before the restore and it was still bad, which worries me as it points further towards hardware fault. The noise it makes is like a feint click as if maybe there was a loose connection you know? Frightened to take it apart as unsure if it will make a difference (remember the loudspeaker still works?) and dont really want to risk it.
Any further suggestions - i'm gutted

That is indeed a rather common problem, but don't worry - the hardware is not defective, it's just that the software gets confused sometimes.
My Magician had the same problem. I found that when too many programs were trying to initialise themselves at boot time (soft reset), the Bluetooth software timed out and got confused. The main culprit was MS Voice Command, which takes ages to initialise. If you have that on your Jam, let me know, and I'll describe a trick to avoid loading it at boot time.
Other potential candidates are huge Today plug-ins. If you have any such, try disabling them. However, it may happen that your Bluetooth stack is so confused that it needs a hard reset to get back on its feet - I can't prove it, but I had the feeling that on my Magician the Bluetooth hardware and Bluetooth stack states had become out of sync, and not even a soft reset could get them back into agreement.
Anyway, a hard reset always cures the problem. Just be careful with what programs you install!
Cheers
Daniel
Thanks for the quick and informative reply.

So you get an error message. After that, does the Bluetooth work at all?
What have you tried doing to test it?
nope, it dosent. it just gives the message and u have to press OK. when u do so, nothing changes, bluetooth still grey and off.

Can you take it back to where you bought it? Was it made clear that bluetooth wasn't working before you paid?
Back up your data and try a soft and hard reset.
i dont think i can do that, anyways take a look at this, i think its a rom issue. all i need is a rom/patch. but i dont have access to imate site.

Have you tried this?
Workarounds are to perform a soft reset or switch in and out of flight mode.

Hm - I m not so sure about this. Your ROM is already newer than everything the people had in the thread you linked to - that thread is mainly from April 2005, and people there talk about 1.03 ROMs, whereas you already have 1.12. And the 1.12 does not have any known issues with Bluetooth.
I am surprised that a hard reset won't work. Try the following: remove the main battery and leave your Jam like that for one night. This will drain your backup battery, and really resets *everything*. The next day, put the battey back in. Go through the normal setup procedure, but do a soft reset immediately before it starts installing programs from the Extended ROM (i.e., within three seconds after you tapped the display after it says "tap display to continue"). This makes sure you will have a really clean and virgin Jam.
If your Bluetooth still does not work after that, I am afraid you have a defective device.
Cheers
Daniel

Even when mine was new, removing the main battery for less than a minute reset everything.
I'm not the only one either. :?

Then you have a defective backup battery. I would still advise first_major to leave his device without battery overnight - there's a chance that this may help, and it's certainly worth a try before giving up on the device.

Hi y'all,
since a few days I'm the owner of a Qtek S100. The previous owner bought it a year and a half ago and has never updated anything on it.
The ROM is version1.06. (Radio is version 1.05). I've tried to register on qtek.nl to get the latest updates but you have to enter an IMEI-nr during the registration and since my device is from Belgium as is my IMEI, I can't register!
I see that there are different kinds of ROMs circulating so my question is; Which one do I need/ is the best?
Should I install rom and radio apart or does rom contain also radio?
I've heared about a special rom-pack that also has the big storage hack in it. What about this?
Do I also have to install the camera patch? Where can I find it?
I've also heared about a A2DP bluetooth patch..
The sticky about upgrading is kinda outdated and didn't help me much..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aside from this I have some other problems I've encountered. I don't know if they'll be fixed after I update the ROM but here they are;
- how do I lock the buttons/screen? The only thing that seems to work but isn't very convenient is to enable a the password in the settings and check the box next to "prompt if device is unused 1 minute". No plain button/screen lock?
- If the device is on stand-by I don't get any notification that I've received an sms. Only when I disable the stand-by by pushing the power button then I get it. But this could be like half an hour after I've received a message.
- if someone calls me and I end the call, how can I save his/her number to my phonebook?
- If I take of the batterycover the device shuts down. Is this supposed to happen?
-How do you completely shut the device down? If I press and hold the powerbutton (like described in the manual) the backlight dims, if I press it shortly it goes on stand-by.. but how do I turn the device of (without taking of the battery-cover..)
- Is it normal that when my battery is low (10-15%) the bluetooth doesn't work?
- Which 4GB SD-cards are known to work 100% with the Qtek S100?
- I've noticed that the battery is kinda weak/worn out? Where can I find a replacement with a higher capacity?
Maybe I should also say that this is the first time I work with Windows Mobile so don't be too harsh on me
Thanks for helping out!
Anyone?

Okay, I'll make a start with what I know off the top of my head but would recommend a bit of reading here and on MoDaCo.com as all the answers not too difficult to find.
I'm using iMate 1.12 ROM which is the best from that source. I've not tried any other operator/manufacturer versions so can't comment. The radio version will be included and the camera patch is not needed with the latest updates. A2DP patch is here :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=249219
I recommend pocketMax's screenGuard and phoneAlarm for locking & notifications respectively :
http://www.pocketmax.net/index.html
With the Dialpad on the screen, go to Call History. Press and hold on the number you want to save, first option is Save To Contacts.
Pocket PCs until very recently were designed to never be completely shut down. This is why we have a backup battery. Make sure that you pull the little rubber lug away from the battery before you remove it as you can initiate a hard reset otherwise. This is in the manual.
Bluetooth can be a battery-drainer so I'm not surprised it won't work with that level of juice. I'd try and avoid letting the battery level get that low if possible as the backup only lasts for about 20 minutes. After that you will lose all your data etc.
I use a MobyMemory own-brand 4GB mini-SD in an adaptor. I have had a couple of problems with it but generally it works fine. Today screen plugins installed on the card can be slow to load.
http://www.mobymemory.com/
I'm sure other members here will correct me if there are better answers and fill in the gaps otherwise.
please do search and few readings on this forum... and hmmm i saw some anwers that actually u can get from your xda manual book

hi sorry guys i searched the site and found a few steps on how to reset the call timers in details..but unfortunately it didnt work...im not sure with others but this procedure did not work on my htc universal...
please follow the steps and do let us know if you come up with expected results
For reseting outgoing call timer
Step 1) Make and outgoing call with your device(Doesnt matter who aslong as someone picks up the call)
Step 2)When the call is picked, emmidietly go to settings and change the Devices clock time back to as many hours as you call timers outgoing time is and save the setting.
Step 3)After saving just hang up the call and reset device.
For reseting incoming call timer
Step 1) Make or expect an incoming call at your device and pick up the call and immedietly go to the clock setting option and change the time as many hours as the incoming call timer shows and save the setting.
Step 2) Hang up the call and reset the device.

Here is the link to download Mtty.
The method of making a call and going back in time may not work in recent devices because MS or HTC has probably fixed it.
Regards,
Carty..
i make loads of calls in a week so the counter is looking ugly
is there anyway i can reset the counter
correct me if i am wrong but i think this is stored in the radio-rom. flash a new radio-rom and it should be reset.
i actually did
but someone mentioned i need a hacked rom
or use mtty
i dont knw i need the right way
mtty is the only way, but i don't understand why call timer an issue!
well if some one can give me a tutorial on using mtty i will be gratfull
well when you got like 30 hours recived in 10 days
and 30 min outgoing
it looks kidda ugly
i recive calls like hell
I know this isn't the best way doing it... But would hard-resetting the device, making the device seem like new, pull the trick? Will this also clean the info on the radio.rom?
no it wont
new winmobile devices dont have this trick
i tried hard reset
tried flashing a new radio
nothin
same
also at mtty how can i make it recognize my hd2
WOW... This seems weird... You basically did reset pretty much all there is to reset?... All you smart people, please answer my question: Where is the info about the Call Counter stored? If its not in the radio.rom (which you actually did reset) and it isn't in the OS... Where is it!???!??
Think of the call counters as your pda being sim unlocked.
Once you have SIM unlocked your pda/phone, no rom flashing / radio flashing / hard resetting will ever get rid of that sim unlock.
I think its a small chip (not ROM) that resides on the motherboard which contains the call counters and sim lock status. You would need to flash this chip, not the ROM (i.e. OS / radio flashes won't do anything).
well in the hermes they did it via mtty
dont knw how it can be done we really need some ones help
any help guys
I use a Rhodium and I need to reset the counter too. Any help using mtty in newer devices?
Yup me too so that I can reset each month so that I can know how much outgoing calls were made.

hi, if that is what you want you can search the web for programms like callstat or similar. so you get great statistics on your calls, and dont need to manipulate counters that not meant to be manipulated.
