One of the brand names for the Wallaby. The Qtek brand is owned by HTC itself, and in case of the Wallaby it is used to sell mostly to smaller GSM providers for whom branding would be too expensive.
Brand name under which T-Mobile sells the Himalaya

Coolsmartphone reports that the Qtek 9000 will be on 3 over the next comming months (probably never or in Autumn  )
Thats good news for you lot looking for operator settings
Coolsmartphone is surprised at them picking Qtek over making its own brand. Probably because operators want to move out since HTC is releasing its own brand and because Qtek are the only manufacturer to give A2DP.
Off topic... what do you think is going to happen to i-mate now HTC is merging Qtek and Dopod into the HTC brand? I read on MSMobiles that i-mate plans to release over manufacturers devices and not the O2 Atom!!! It becomes more interesting now and lets hope that operators keep on selling HTC handsets.
I am selling my I-Mate JAMin on eBay. It is brand new, just got it last week, but my company decided to switch carrier.

Hi,
I am looking to purchase the Softbank x01ht, but i am not sure if i should.
What is the difference between the HERMES, TYTN and Softbank x01ht
I read everywhere and it says that they are all the same.
But the Softbank x01ht is almost 200$ CHEAPER all over.....
Is there shomething i should know? will i be able to upgrade it's OS just like i would to the HERMES or TYTN.......
Please someone guide me through this
its cheaper because Softbank agreed with HTC to "handle" part of the cost...
Is This Right XDA ADMIN!!!!
Can we say now that
Hermes :
Also known as:
HTC TyTN / XDA trion / MDA Vario II / VPA Compact III / SPV M3100 / Dopod CHT 9000 / Dopod 838 Pro / .......SOFTBANK X01Ht.............
Please let me know if yes.....otherwise why not
huh???
the Softbank X01HT, as well as the Docomo HTC HTz has always been known as a "Hermes"...
I believe there are some things about the firmware that can make it difficult to tweak/hack the phone. If you check over in the Hermes Upgrading forum, you'll find a lot of people having problems with the Softbank. They do something to their ROM's to make them particularly difficult to replace.
Oh.. and the keyboard is printed Japanese.. There are normal letters, but all of the 'extra' keys (alt, option, etc) are in Japanese.

X01HT although being sold cheaper in internet, but the actual price wheh taken from Softbank directly cost around 80,000 yen plus contract signing charges. I dont think it is cheap, maybe sellers of this X01HT sacrifice some of their money because the 80,000 yen can be paid in parts. So, I think this X01HT in effect is the same price as unlocked HTC TyTn. One thing also, if you unlock the phone via IMEI-unlock, additional 40US dollars added to the cost of X01HT.
