TomTom Bluetooth is fixed (!) - MDA II, XDA II, 2060 General

You need GPS2.09, and it's available from the support site (!)

Are you saying that the bluetooth problem with gps is solved by the tomtom update and that I will have no need of Towas bluetooth patch.

hi guys/galls
whats the best GSP reciever, for Tomtom Nav2 with the XDA2 ?
I was using the Hiacom HI-203e (cabled) but since the cables is now busted its not worth replacing it. I'd rather have a BT GPS, so whats your suggestions, pros and cons etc etc...
i'd be glad to hear, as I don't want to waste any money..

Just wish the update was stable. I lose all my Checkboxes and Buttons when I open it.

Have you updated the application ?
I had this problem until I installed the update to 2.24
Goto www.tomtom.com /support for the update

I have unistalled the bluetoth tools, and the parrot now works, but as predicted the gps does not.
I need both of these thing working, and if they dont the device will be going back.

I do have the same problem.
But I'm not using a GPS right now and running without Bluetooth Tools. Like izeman said, this way it's working most of the time.
Currently I am planning on buying a bluetooth GPS Receiver and am pretty much interested in an solution.
So if you find one, please let us all know.

Can you post your experience with CK3x00. How is it working with XDA II? Like CK3000 or better?
I am not able to use the latest version of BT Tools too because of the CK3000. Try the previous version. My Carkit works ok, but I dont have GPS.

by "working OK" do you mean that soetimes it doesn't connect?
Or is it just 'cos the features are limited with XDA II and else you are perfectly happy :?:

Features are limited, the caller gets echo (but that I am sure this is just an installation issue), without a mount it is impossible to dial while on the move and I still tend to plug it in to charge it while on the move (cig lighter).
Its not as good as I thought it would be and I am thinking of going for a fixed installation. This is no reflection on the kit, just the way I use it.
Hope this helps?
BT tools Plantronics, Parrot and Seefree
I got a slightly different problem. I have a bt headset m3000 plantronics, a parrot CK300 v3.13 car kit (my car) and a seefreekit 1.1 (in my wive's car which I borrow sometimes...). With the BT tools both the plantronics and seefree work ok, but the parrot doesn't bond/pair anymore.
Any solutions? Suggestions? When I de-install the parrot works ok, but then I need to pair everytime another device when I want to use it.
Hi,
If you are using BT Tools v 1.1.0.0 (12.4.2004) it wont. You need to go back a version.
Ian
so with version 1.0.1.2 it should work? :?

Works for me.
Re: BT tools Plantronics, Parrot and Seefree
I tried a previous version of BT tools... doesn't work. Any ideas? But de-installing works fine. But I can only connect one headset (BT Tools recognizes both the plantronics as the parrot as a headset and without BT Tools it can manage only one headset. But then... with BT Tools it doesn't wordk at all...)

TomTom5 Navigator... HELP PLZ

hiya guys,
I just bought a tomtom navigator 5 Original Cd from a mate and installed it on my XDA II, well my nightmare turned out when i tried to connect it with my BT GPS receiver and it doesnt seeem to work. The gps works superb with 6630, 6600 but it doesnt work with XDa, i donno why. a friend suggested tht it only works with a Tomtom gps receiver, is tht true.
My question is, is it possible to use any bluetooth gps receiver with XDA for tomtom or do i need a special one.

navigation system for XDA Exec

hello
I wanted to get a navigation system which would work with my xda exec. can you guys recommend one?
should i go for an SD card based one or a bluetooth solution?
I use Tomtom software, works perfectly and Holux GPSlim236 Bluetooth GPS receiver
Regards, Simon
thanks for the reply
i guess you use it in bluetooth mode?
what tomtom software do you use with it
i came across an all inclusive package from expansys
http://www.expansys.com/product.asp?code=TOMTOM_MOBILE_5
what do you guys think of it?
Hi, I use Route66 nav7. cheaper than TOMTOM and with free taffic. TOMTOM is alot easy to use than ROUTE66. TOMTOM has a bad after sales team.

You require "TomTom Navigator 5.0" then the upgrade is needed to 5.21!
TOMTOM_MOBILE_5 is for smartphones (not PDA's)
Loads going on ebay:
NEW - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-TomTom-Na...9733242401QQcategoryZ4668QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
SECOND HAND - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/TomTom-Naviga...ryZ75327QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Alternativley just search for tom* nav* 5 (exactly like that) on ebay
hope this helps.
thanks for the replies
so i can go for tomtom mobile 5 not tom tom 5 (which is for PDAs)
and the Holux GPSlim236 Bluetooth GPS receiver (is there any feature which differentiates between GPS receivers?)

It should work!!
the tomtom GPS reciever will work better and require less fiddleing to get it to work as the exec's can be a pain to set up tomtom!!!
thanks for the reply
what is teh difference between a smartphone and a pda. is not the xda exec a smart phone?

do you mean that i should go for a standalone tomtom gps receiver
hi,
Smartphones usually operate using the Symbian operating system your exec Uses Windows Mobile 5, a different beast.
Re the tomtom BT GPS, the Execs can be a bit of a pain to set up the comm ports on when configuring tomtom with another GPS, Holux, Etan etc, so I guess the advise was meant to say that in tomtom, you tick a box and GPS is configured and working.
Hope that helps,
Bryson!

iGO 2006 problem with bluetooth gps connection

I get use to TomTom but my friend said that iGO 2006 is better so I downloaded it, installed on my universal but there is no connection with my BT GPS. I tried many settings with comm. ports in iGO but nothing is happening. The software won't connect to BT GPS.
What else I can do?
Thanks in advance
Question? Did you activate Bluetooth from the ComManger?
You must activate it first the start iGO....
Geko
Hi!
Which GPS device are you using (NMEA or SIRF)?
In the GPS specs on the manual which comm port and baud rate does it use?

It should work "out of the box". Turn on BT, pair the devices, et voila.
If you want to have the GPS DO something, well that is a whole different subject and there are lots of posts.
