Hi,
I'm using a MDA II (T-Mobile) and a O2 card.
I'm interessted in umgrading to a O2 rom but I'm afraid of loosing warranty. I'm not afraid that something should be wrong by flashing the o2-rom to my XDA II but I have 2 years warranty left and in that time some other things may happend to my system that I must use the warranty.
So I need the O2 settings of the O2 rom to use MMS, WAP, GPRS,... Which file of the O2 rom have stored these settings?
There are a lot of files in that rom, what are these all for?
I coppied allready the homezone tool which works fine on my XDA II (don't start automatically - coppied to autostart but don't start , only manual start works - somone a sollutions for that?).
Does anyone know for what all the programs in my startfolder are for? There are a lot of entried which will fast system... But I don't want to find it out by trieing....
Does anyone knows a good simulation for the XDA II to test software. I dont' want to put all on my life system and delete again. I thing the regestry will grows bigger and bigger....

Hi, a friend bought an XDAIII in UK (Oracnge version) and it has an applet in the Settings menu, called display, that allows screen rotation. Its so good it makes Nyditot etc on the II seem very crude.
Anyone know if there is anyway to get that feature on a II ? Is it part of the 2003 SE release or something specific to the Orange version ?
TIA,
Paul

Hi folks,
A friend of mine is buying my old T-Mobile MDA Compact off me, he's on O2 PAYG and I'm looking to convert the phone to be as much like the O2 XDA equivelant as posible to avoid network issues.
Firstly, What is the O2 XDA equivelant of the MDA Compact officially known as? I've heard it's the XDA mini, but not sure.
1. Can I install/use an O2 XDA mini ROM (or updated one) to setup the phone for use on O2? I'm assuming the ROM is the only software differance between an XDA mini and MDA Compact.
2. Will this also change the radio stack, allowing the phone to accept an O2 sim card or will i need to apply a seperate unclock tool?
Where can I find O2 XDA mini ROMs? and if needed an unlock tool?
I'm hoping its as simple as just installing an O2 ROM but I'm preparing myself for the worst.
Any help and advice gratly appreciated,
Mike
Simple thing to do it just to SIM unlock your phone. If you can't figure out how to set up the stuff like GPRS internet connection, etc, you can get the EXT ROM from the O2 Xda mini and install it manually. For your case, if using the phone on O2 is the thing you want, I won't recommend you to do a flash.
And don't double post
Hi, thanks for replying.

- do a search
- do a search
- I mean, if you can't even find the sim unlock software, don't flash your phone, you will likely to brick it.
How about using the XDA-Wiki in the top brown bar?
