When using the predictive text options, I noted that the words that weren't in the dictionary weren't being picked up by the imate. Is that normal or do I need to change any settings to get the imate to put these words in its databank? Thanks.

Hello,
On the English ROM, when you're writing words like "i" or "il" using the QWERTY keyboard, the system automatically change such words in "I" and "I'll".
Do you know how can I disable such behavior? I usually write text in Italian language, so it's not nice stuff...
Thanks!
Go to Settings -> Personal -> Input -> Word Completion
Uncheck "Replace text as you type"
That should disable it
I upgraded to the Cingular 1.34 ROM and now when i go to create a new text message it does not recognize names and when you hit tab it does not bring you to the body of the message like it used to. Is this a registry setting that I can tweak. I already changed the keyboard layout because I am using a Tytn and not an 8525.
Is there a way to compose text messages using speech to text? When I go in to compose a text message all I see is the swype keyboard.
I also thought you could fill in most (all???) text boxes/input fields using voice, but I haven't cracked that code either.
I searched this forum for "speech" and only got five hits, none of which look helpful:

Use the android keyboard.

Hello guys, I've got HTC 3G Dash (Snap) and managed to fit in Cyrillic characters by modifying the eT9.Maple.wwe.kmap file, so by holding any key I type the phonetic equivalent of Cyrillic, using the qwerty keyboard. I'm able to create Word docs, reminders or browse the net using Cyrillic, but sending SMS or e-mails, the characters which recipient gets are: ????? . Is there any specific font or Unicode for Cyrillic I could use so the Cyrillic letters could be read by the recipient? Thanks a lot!
