This post is to inform everyone that the MetroPCS Galaxy S6 does not have Download Booster unfortunately. But there is a solution, since the MetroPCS S6 and the T-mobile S6 are the same all you have to do is find the SM-G920T firmware on sammobile.com download it and install it thru Odin 3.09 and there you have it. Let me know if there's any questions.

Thanks for posting I am on Metro with Fact. Unlocked Alpha 850M and thinking of upgrading to an S6.
1) Does a Metro SIM work on a Tmobile phone without unlocking Tmo phone ( Metro has only white S6) ?
2) Metro PCS has VoLTE by default on Metro 4G LTE Devices (even LG Motion 4G)- so in the Menu on Metro S6 is there a Setting for VoLTE
and wifi Calling ?
If not - is the Metro PCS S6 better on Battery than Tmobile Versions.
No one at Metro could tell me the Software Version of Metro S6 or if it differs from Tmobile Version in any way.
How are your SOTs at 40% brightness?
Do you think Factory Unlocked S6 has VoLTE on Metro PCS Network
OR will it band jump from LTE to 3G H H+ when I make a call like my Alpha does.
On Metro we are used to having fast LTE Data during calls - is this possible on Unlocked S6 ?
Thanks.

Well the s6 for metro is the same as tmobile yes if you put the metro sim on any tmobile phone it will work but the tmobile phone has to be activated in your account meaning that the have to put the IMEI number of the phone in your account in order for the phone to work so you can't just put the sim in and it will work it has to be active in your account by a metro rep and if you have an international unlocked phone most likely it will not have VoLTE and it may have H+ instead of LTE, I am a MetroPCS sales rep and for sure I tell you that the VoLTE works if you have a metro or tmobile running on Metro also the only different between the metro s6 and the tmobile s6 has downloaded booster and the metro one doesn't so you could just install the tmobile firmware on the metro one and it works normal let me know if you have any other question

1) IF I can get a new S6 Tmobile Phone by having a friend purchase but not activate it.
Will the Tmo phone need to be Unlocked to be used with my Metro Account registered with Metro Etc. ?
2)Does the Metro S6 have a VoLTE On/ Off Setting in Menu?- This would not make sense because Metro 4G LTE Phones have VoLTE by default.
3) Will a Factory Unlocked Galaxy S6 on Metro Stay on LTE during a call and have simultaneous LTE Data ?(VoLTE).
ALL BYODs drop to 3G H H+ during calls since they lack specific Metro Software for VoLTE - right ?
As far as I know NO BYOD Device can do this ...unless you know otherwise.
4) The Metro S6 has no Wifi Calling, and no download boost- I have heard -
Does this mean that the Metro S6 may not have some of the Battery Drain problems of TMO S6 ?
Thanks very much- most Metro Reps do not know about all this.

Any BYOD from T-Mobile will work on Metro without having to be unlocked and yes it will have wifi calling in download Booster will both work and voice over LTE will work also with no problems the only thing is that you will not be able to be insured that's why I chose the Galaxy 6 from Metro pcs because I was gonna buy the s6 edge from T-Mobile but I can't insure it so I suggest the metro one plus my Co worker has the edge but battery dies faster but I think is because of the edges. Also the Metro S6 does have VoLTE but not download booster but you could get it by putting the T-mobile firmware on it and this is the only official phone from Metro that has the VoLTE since we got rid of the CDMA system so yeah our old CDMA phones did have it the S5 has the capabilities for it but they was not turned on so you had to put the tmobile firmware on the metro s5 for it to work too

Hello. I find this really interesting. However what other advantages will this add to my Metro S6 if I install a T-Mobile firmware? Will I be able to get rooted with that? Because I've bee trying to get rooted but failed to do so. On the other hand will this absolutely not damage any functions on the phone? Since you have the T-Mobile firmware, how is it running so far? Any issues with it? Thank you!
Thanks Jcar for all the Info on Metro with S6 and Tmobile Versions.
I had my Alpha 850M International Unlocked hooked up at a Metro Store then went to a Corporate Store because local could not get LTE. I got LTE but slow and unpredictable Data Speeds - fast for 2 minutes ( 20 to 30 mbs ) then back down to 5 mbs or 2 mbs.
I have since played around myself with APN and specifically GID 6D or 6d seems to help.
Metro Corporate left this Section Unspecified but " 6d38" was in there by default- either from the SIM or the Network.
So if I leave unspecified everything works BUT using 6d seems to lock me onto LTE better and better handoffs between Bands.
Where is the Phone getting 6d38 and the IMSI ( correct) of 260x310 in the MVNO APN section?
See screenshot- Metro had " None"
here but if I use 6d or 6D and enable it seems to handle Data better .
And some default is 6d38 if I hit None and reboot the Phone but stays as I have set it if I leave 6d.
People with Nexus 5 I think use this also on Metro...
any idea why it helps Alpha?

1) Does the Metro PCS version S6 also have the VoLTE Section in Menu for check or uncheck ( on / off) ?

So I have the G920V variant, but am using on it tmobile's network. I have a few questions about downloading Tmobile's firmware onto my S6:
1) Do I need to be rooted to do this or can I download the firmware on a stock Galaxy s6?
2) Will the firmware allow me to use VoLTE and wifi calling with tmobile?
3) Will all future updates be pushed OTA normally or do I have to manually install them?
Thanks for your help!

You will not be able to do that to your phone the only reason I was able to download the firmware on mine is because metropcs and Tmobile are the same company so they use the same s6 it just has different bloatware if you download the tmobile firmware on your Verizon s6 you will brick your phone I highly advise you not to do it.

Ok duly noted, thanks! So would I be able to get wifi calling on my verizon variant if I were to root it and enable it through the CSC features from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6-edge/general/quick-guide-enabling-hidden-features-t3087506 ?
Or would it not work since TMobile's wifi calling works on Band 12 and my phone lacks that band?

Just found out from my system at my job at MetroPCS that the Galaxy S6 is coming out in GOLD for Metro!!!, the white Galaxy S6 will no longer be sold after the gold one comes out. I have researched everywhere to see if anyone out there knew this was coming but did not find anything so I just made this post

Thanks for the info.
So the Tmo or Metro PCS S6 will also have the battery drain issues which S6 on Tmobile has ?
My Alpha 850M International unlocked has all the bands except 12 so gets LTE on Metro but changes Bands a lot because it lacks Metro Software I think...goes from 3G to H to H+ to LTE sometimes within 1 minute in same spot !

European have exynos. USA Verizon and sprint hate exynos, that's why they have snapdragon. Exynos works fine on t-mobile and AT&T, so you can use those networks.

Mostly I will be on AT&T, but I want to use features like Samsung pay, voLTE, WiFi calling etc. I guess these won't work on European model.

Hi, I've only ever used the carrier-supplied phones on their networks. However, I'm thinking of getting the international version of the S7 Edge due to the Exynos processor. I'm wondering about the following though:
1. Will network performance be ideal? ie. Could some missing band support mean I don't get full speed?
2. How will updates pushed by T-Mobile work? I understand there will be an update for the new 4x range LTE band which has better building penetration. Would an international variant of the phone on T-Mobile receive such an update AND/OR be able to make use of the new band?
Thanks,
Steven
Network performance should be fine as long as the variant you pick up has proper bands.
Updates will be pushed by Samsung instead of Tmobile with an unlocked variant.

Do you think the difference is really worth it if there is even a difference?
From what I've seen one is better with certain things and the other is better with other things but even then the difference is very small.

I've been thinking of selling my tmobile s7 edge and get the international one. I switched from an iPhone 6 plus to the s7 edge, and my god... This thing is a beauty. The only thing I miss from ios is the emoji, and that is the sole reason why I desperately need to root my device haha
Edit: I'm still new to the Android scene but if samsung push the update instead of tmobile, does that mean the international variant will get the update much earlier than the tmobile version?

I could answer your first question as I have the exynos variant and am on the T-Mobile network in usa, yes for some reason there are a lot of network performance issues, when I first for the phone my LTE speeds tested to be 60 mbps now it's only 20-30!

Perhaps you work in a large warehouse with poor cell signal or a large complex building such as a hospital. Perhaps your house is at the edge of coverage where signal is unstable. Plenty of reasons why wifi calling is useful for many people.
Wifi calling is not great but if you're in an area with poor indoor coverage, that's the only option.
My office just happens to be in a dead spot. When I walk outside, I have full bars. Even the tmobile repeater only picks up 2 bars. We have stable wifi so wifi calling works best. Sometime package drop affects phone quality issue but that's the nature of VoIP.
T-mobile Wi-Fi calling is a must for my phone. Tmobile service is not existent in hospitals, office buildings and sometimes on the other side of a tree.
I keep watching tekhd thread in international to see if that is one of the "T-Mobile" rom parts he gets working.

I have the euro version on tmobile, and my speeds are the same as with the U.S version, also I live in nyc where tmobile service is great so I never use wifi calling. I do miss volte though.
so you get LTE speed and everything else, except VOLTE and wifi calling and oh samsung pay ( but android pay will do) right? Because I ordered 1 from amazon so we'll see
Any reason why would wifi calling not work on Tmobile? I was able to enable and use it on my N6P so I don't see why it would be different. If I believe the international version forum, the most recent update enabled it and numerous users report using it on other carriers.
Exynos Lte icons
Hello this might seem dumb but i can't find the answer anywhere. In the past i have owned phones that did not show lte on t-mobile and would instead show HSPA+ now on my s7 exynos it just shows 4g and when making a call it goes to the hspa+. Is that how the exynos versions show lte or is mine not picking up lte. Or how can i check to make sure it is running lte. Thanks in advance and from personal experience i enjoyed using my exynos s7 a lot more then my s7 edge from tmobile. The exynos runs a lot smoother.

Yes, it is LTE. You can check in the settings, phone info area or with an app to switch network data type (in which you can chooses LTE only, etc.)
Like a fool, I purchased an Unlocked S7 Edge Dual-Sim, before discovering that Sprint doesn't support it.
I will likely have to return it, [huge hassle], but I was thinking about using a different provider.
Does anyone have any information about the Dual-Sim S7 Edge and which providers IN THE U.S. support it?

ATT and Tmobile
I got the AT&T version of the S7 edge and noticed it comes with a lot of bloatware and the AT&T splashcreen is annoying. I'm guessing this can be changed but I also have the option of returning this phone and getting a more appropriate version of the S7 edge that may have more XDA support. Is there a better version you can recommend? I'm looking to stay on a T-Mobile MVNO in the meantime.
