The seller has cancelled this auction because the item was destroyed, and can therefore no longer be sold.

Seems to good to be true fancy another "inquiry" gazzaman?
Heres another ebay/auction story. I was after a telescope with automatic alignment, computer control and gps, saw one i liked, asked the price and was then told that the only way to get it was to have it shipped from Italy even though the guy was registered in Uk, i offered to pick it up but it seems that was too difficult. The best one however was another ads site on the web, this guy had a similar item, I showed interest, he said the kit was in london but he was in Spain as he was a specialist skin doctor, he couldnt give me a phone number because he said his phone didnt work in the mountains of Spain, even though he could send emails, :?: anyway, I asked if I could pick it up from London where he said it was located, he wanted the money wired and then his assistant would send it fedex, when I asked the difference between me collecting or fedex collecting here was the reply via email.
Hello Bill,
I suggested a different system for completing this transaction.I had my reasons.I thought you understood that.Miles can complete the delivery but in person. For God sakes the poor man's blind.I didn't want to get into details. He can make a phone call and get the FedEx guys up to my place and make all happen but i doubt he will accept to meet you in person.I would but i'm not there. Now i'm sorry if you had other plans but well i can't offer anything alse.If that is a problem i will have to contact some other client and get this done.
But look as a sign of good faith and in the spirit of the trade i will throw in a free delivery, meaning i will pay for it.It's a one time offer.
Thank you for the email.Take care

hi mate any idea on how much per month? im 17 and want something cheap per month lol.
i can afford the xda2 just dont think i could handle the contract
gaz
Not sure I didn't ask but I guess it would be the £25.00 per month one plus some data package as they all tend to be pop into your local store or ring them I'm sure they will know better than me
Carl
ill think ill leave the xda2 lol im gonna go for this instead
http://www.mobileburn.com/news.jsp?Id=505
Looks nice enough but the screen seems a little small, also no mention of Bluetooth a much needed part of any phone these days.
But each to his own good luck with it
Carl
yeah ive also looked around no monetion on touchscreen :| cant live without touchscreens now lol so XDA 2 it may be
also if you want a xda 2 try get intocuh with this guy......

but he seems to be hesitating on his address :\
lmk if you get intouch and find anything out
Hmmmm!
I suspect that these units are off the back of a lorry or something. It's just tooo cheap.
The guy's ID on eBay also has no rating, no feedback, and is not a verified user. You'd be MAD to buy from him without further info. I'm going to watch these bids closing out with interest...
yeah but if you live not far away its worth a try the guy said he has had 100 units and now oly has 30left! not suprised at this price.
even if they weref rom back of a lorry who cares lol you didnt know they were nicked init
even if it gets blocked £160 for a 400mhz bluetooth pda not bad

The main problem is he has no rating on Ebay you may send money to his Paypal account and get nothing I've emailed him a number of times and got ... well lets just say odd replies.
I'd warn you all to be very careful indeed I've been had once before on Ebay and never recovered my money.
Having said that if one of you get one from him and its gen please contact me on my mobile number as I'll be away 07866 739331 and I'll get one too lol. (just realized I'm kind of saying you lot can take a chance SORRY) lol

Can you tell me what you mean by "odd replies"?
Don't want to put anything down here I could be complained at for, but I do a lot of business on ebay and it just seems to good to be true.
Lets face it the o2 shops are only just getting these in and they want £350.00 on contract why would anyone have 100 (now 30) and be willing to sell them sim free for £160.00 delivered look at his other auctions too they are all top of the range phones.
Normally if it seems to be too good to be true it is.
Carl
I was offered several of these machines from this ebay seller and when I said that I worked in a nearby town and offered to call to collect the phones, the emails dried up and I've had no further contact since yesterday. I suspect this is a con.
i have a house phone number and his addy :| i just need someone to go check it out
hes from hull
ronald morgan his name is also there are 2 other peeps.
3 total are running it:
Carl Wilburn, Andy Lill and Ronald Morgan.
not had replies from the other guys but ron seems to be alrite but i dont se ehow he can do them that cheap :\
anyone want his info lmk and ill send you it so you can go investigate and if true lmk and ill be on my way down in an instant lol (about a 4hour drive)
With the name/address, you could look at the electoral role to verify....something like UKINFO 2003 or www.192.com might help....
Just for information, I have been in contact with this ebay seller today. I've reserved two of these machines. Hull is only a hour drive from where I am, I have suggested that I pick them up from him directly. Just awaiting his email back, will let you know what happens.

Chris

I've had a vodafone nightmare.
I called to get a pac code last week in order to migrate from vodafone to O2 to get an Exec. I was literally in the middle of ordering an Exec when Vodafone called me back and said, "We know you're leaving because you can't get an HTC Universal from us, well we've found one for you, we call it the Qtek 1620."
Erm, I said, that's not a Universal, it's a Blue Angel. Queue a long debate on the phone with them, the guy assures me it's definitely a Universal and even describes the rotating screen. I say fine, but please record my concerns...
Then followed days of broken promises regarding delivery... mistake after mistake, somehow they sent it to Newbury instead of Sheffield (easy mistake to make, of course!) and ultimately it arrived this morning... and guess what I received: A Vodafone VPA 1620, aka a Blue Angel. Grrr.
More long converstations resulted in, 'sorry but there's nothing we can do.'
So now I'm waiting for news on my order with O2 and deciding whether to return the 1620 or ebay it and maintain the minimum payments on the contract - I'd only be about £30 up in the long run but the cash in hand would be nice for Christmas.
And pity my poor work colleagues who've had to put up with my moaning about all this for the last week!
Matt S.
I'd return it - claim compo for being blatantly lied to and demand your release code and if anyone refuses you, escalate to the highest possible.
Returning my VPA 1620 to vodafone. They've given me some credit on my account (which is fine since my wife still has a vodafone handset on the same account) and made the expected copious apologies.
Ordered an xda exec from Mobilefun.co.uk which went through smoothly except for a statement at about 2pm 'yes it's in stock, in fact yours is being prepared for dispatch right now' to, at 4pm, "sorry we're out of stock - we should get some more in on Friday".
I'm beginning to think somebody upstairs doesn't want me to get a Universal!
This just isn't meant to be. Mobilefun now say they won't be getting any on Friday as O2 can't supply them, and they can't give any update on when they'll be able to. What a mess!
o2 stores have them in stock - either that or try onestopphoneshop
Probably because every man and his dog are buying them on cheap contract then ebaying them for a profit...
Not that its not a good idea, but a bit greedy and upsets the poorer people that want the phone and contract but dont have oooodles of money.
In Europe during the first 6 workdays after signing and 'activating the service of a contract' it can be cancelled without any reprecussions. During the first 2 weeks after something was 'bought' it can be returned to the seller to get a refund when a product doesn't do what you expect from it. Perhaps something to think of. This is settled by law and even if companies say it is impossible they never are above the law.
grtzzzz roel..
I'm not really sure whats going on with the o2 EXEC.
They are giving them away .. by the thousand weight.
I'm still waiting for one now, its on 'back order' and has been for some two weeks. They've even offered me an XDA IIi for free on o2 200!
I suspect they will either not have anymore of these coming in or something will change, probably the price or locking the sim/software to deter reselling.
Just hoping I get one now for the pre-agreed price and within my lifetime.
*sniff
onestopphoneshop don't have any. O2 say they do, but only at £150 :-(
hi

greetings !
My name is Jehal kangoosariam , I would like to pay £70, 000 for your item by western union - I am buying it for my brother in Nigeria as a pancake day present ........
seriously mate - just tried to sell mine on ebay and got so much crap it was unbeleivable ! gave up in the end
Good luck though (and be careful ! )
Ha ha! So true.
I have already had responses from people such as this ... a jumble of words so random and bizarre as to have surely been run through google's translation service and then read out into a bad speech recognition program by a Guatemalan goat herder with a slight hunch and a hare lip.
Thought I would post a reminder! I always forget to bid on auctions and therefore don't win. Only 3 hours left to bid for your chance to be a winner! Don't miss out!
Hi there - hope the auction goes well - how did you unlock it - or was it unlocked by default?
Aution won by a new user with no feedback - good luck with that...
Cheers,
Steve.
Hi it was unlocked by default.
Oh ye of little faith!
It was bought by a charming lady in London.
Who wanted it shipped to her husband.
In Nigeria.
It's legit right?!
Scam the Scammers
I read about this guy who sold his powerbook, and it was bought by an obvious scammer. He sent a big woden block with POWERBOOK written on it and old keyboard keys stuck on it, and posted it to the guy in nigeria, claiming its value as $1200. Of course, the guy who received it gladly payed the 20% import tax on it from customs and excise, as well as the $50 recorded delivery cost. I honestly suggest you do the same, shaft these low-lifes who waste our time
Also, in the auction, block buyers will -1 or less feedback...
a few weeks ago i sold a iPAQ hx2110 ob ebay. Not for bidding, for "Buy-now". Who boughts it? An Australien who wants me to ship to Nigeria.
Is there anything you can sell on ebay without selling it to these damn bastards of the nigeria connection???
Hope you sell it the next time to a "real" buyer!
I suppose, if they pay for the goods, then does it matter where you send it? The key thing is that they do actually pay. One other problem is that if they use PayPal with a stolen credit card, then apparently, the funds can be withdrawn from you at a later time - not nice at all. I think PayPal should be more rigorous about that sort of thing and take responsibiliy in that situation. Some hope.
Cheers,
Steve.
just create your auction, using a BUY-IT-NOW with immediate payment only, that way they have to pay you in order to close the auction. I've used that each time I've sold any electronic item since someone tried to scam me when I sold a mobile phone a few years back. Never had any problems since
I have a project where I will be porting an application (VB and SQL) to WM5.0 and the target is expected to be an O2XDA Exec, Orange SPV M5000 etc... Universal??
Anyway I am trying to figure out if these are dodgey at all but there seem to be plenty of new O2XDA Exec on ebay with prices way below what the same units would/should cost from O2 et al without contracts.
I expect a few members might have bought from ebay??? so asking what peeps views are.
The sellers always seem to have 20 or so units but everything is anonymous and seem to have to part with money in advance and cannot do this in person so more than a bit cautious.
I am going to need a couple for development and testing.
Regards,
Dom
Universal from Ebay
I bought my brandnew O2 XDA Exec from Ebay for less than 2/3 the price you would pay for it from any 02 shop. No problems at all
OP, you've just described Ebay as whole ;-D
I suppose it's like everything else on that site: sometimes you get a good deal, sometimes you get burned. Personally I had good and bad experiences on Ebay, just like any other 'ad board' site or magazine.
EDIT: check out this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=53525&highlight= for a cautionary tale...

Ditto, why I was asking. Don't want to get burned for £500 and no XDA's.
Found what seemed to be a good deal at about 2/3 (£280) of the RRP (£400 ish) from one ebay trader. I wanted to exchange cash in person and all of a sudden it wasn't possible and there was this reason and that reason why they couldn't... all sounded far too dodgey to me.
BTW it was someone from O2 shop that said look on ebay when I said I just wanted the phones without the contract.
Dom
I got my MDA Pro from eBay for £250. It was brand new and sealed, I am very happy with it.
You have to be very careful when you buy from eBay.
Always email the seller and ask if you can collect and pay cash. If they refuse then ask yourself why? Maybe its dodgy - sometimes it maybe genuine.
Also check their previous selling history - if they have never ever sold any pdas/phone and suddenly they have 20 PDA's for sale then be careful - usually very dodgy.
Good Luck...
On the matter of refusing to accept cash to be fair I suppose I'd be the same. When you bet on something it clearly tells you how the payments are accepted: usually paypal.
Personally if someone bought my 500pounds device and wanted to switch the payment mode to cash right after winning the option, the alarms bells would be ringing too. I'd probably just say no and explain the above but some people don't like saying no and rather make crappy excuses instead... in which case the alarm bells would then be ringing in the buyer's ears this time round...

Oh wasn't before winning, insisted on emails with bidders before he would accept any bids from you. Would cancel bids otherwise.
It looked like he had the items as a fixed price and would sell direct just not through ebay and so no ebay protection etc... why I asked face to face and cash.

what kinda apps r u gona be porting?
I am porting amateur radio logging, prediction and rig control software(last one a bit of a non-starter as these do not have USB host and not sure can get rs232 connectivity working).
There will also be some additional Oracle, sql2000 and sql2005 monitoring apps written using VB .net

I bought my O2 XDA Exec from Ebay, Paid $650.00 for it new in box and have had no problems with it. The seller was UK based and I live in the USA.
Well, my contract with O2 was up for renewal a couple of months ago and I said that I wanted my PAC code as I was going to switch to Orange as I wanted a Universal. In the end O2 said I could have a new O2 Exec for FREE on a O2 500 tarrif for £25/mth. Of course I accepted.
Dom,
I got a refurbished Vodafone V1640 from a business seller on ebay for £240! It came with everything in its original box. The only flaws were a small scratch on one of the hinges (stated in description) and a little polarisation flaw on the screen (NOT stated in description, but it's not too much of a problem). Overall I think I made a good purchase.
Hi fellow site users!
I have a 3 weeks old Exec that has done nothing but be an expensive paperweight since I've had it! See my other posts about the Active Sync/Outlook problems I've had with it!!
I've therefore decided to sell it off and thought I'd offer it here for first dibs to you guys rather than have the time waster bids on eBay.
history - I took it out of the box, setup a new partnership on my laptop and when it sync'd only 24 of my 88 or so contacts showed up on the exec's display - no amount of tweaking, settings changes, selecting show all shows the rest up. I've had to borrow a friends Xda2i in order to allow me to continue working which has no sync problems at all. These last 2-3 weeks the Xda has sat on my bedside table on a bunch of sales receipts!
In order to quel any of you guys fears, I do have an eBay account with feedback of 311 at 99.1 % and my business eBay power selling account with feedback of 5280 at 99.8% (I will provide these via any PM's )
I will send abroad to the US/Canada/Aus (in fact I sold me, my business partner and brothers Xda2 to USA buyers!).
The unit itself is of course in brand new condition. Nothing is missing, I've not opened the software. The only thing I've done is update to the latest ROM from 02's website. It's currently in Corporate mode too. I've not installed any programs, nor have I used the phone. I've only tried to sync it with my laptop - it's the only use it's had! - I also put a screen protector on as soon as I peeled off the 'shipping sticker' on the screen.
Similar Exec's on Ebay from sellers with decent feedback seem to be in the £300-350 range (lower priced ones are from lower and single digit feedback sellers - which raises the point if they're genuine).
I'd like £325 for this unit and I'm open to sensible offers.
If there's anything else you'd like to know - just ask here or via PM!
Cheers! Dennis! West London UK!!
BUMP*!!
Is the price too high?!
I guess I need to start taking some pics of the Exec and prepare to list it on eBay!
Anyone on here interested?!!!
Cheers!
Dennis! West London UK!!
You obviously haven't looked hard enough, mate!
A brand new one for £250. Yours would have to be offered LESS than that, considering its not new like the one here:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/O2-XDA-EXEC-B...46QQihZ019QQcategoryZ3312QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
rubish..... £325 is an absolutelly more than fair price!!....specially if you are able to reassure the buyer that this is not going to be an insurance claim!!... which is more than what you can say about alot of the phones going through ebay!

Nah, I disagree, £325 is a fair chunk higher than market value. Last as new exec I sold on ebay got £265 and my open box ones about £230. eBay may well be higher than market value as there are less savvy buyers doing their bidding and pushing prices up, not down. Someone using this board is less likely to pay over the odds, which £325 definatley is.
Richard
Yeh,
I think I'll just whack it up on ebay and hope none of the stupid zero bidders wastes the auction!
Hopefully I'll get 'decent' dosh for it !
Cheers guys!

As soon as the packaging/box seal is broken it is already a second-hand product eventhough totally unused. You have already used the item and changed the original OS in it.
I guess you'll get a better offer if you claim it as a "like new" item.
You interested in trades for this,Dennis?
Brand New, UNUSED Samsung E900?
Let me know ASAP.
Darren.
You're probably best off sticking it on ebay, I have done this with all of my previous XDAs and have always got the proce I was looking for, probably because they were in very good conditon (which yours obviously is) and because of my solid ebay rating. I think people would rather pay a decent price for an item from somebody who is reliable than go with somebody like the guy offering a brand new Exec in the link for £250 (18 feedback and only 95% positive? Would you really risk £250?) Just my two cents.
