Where to get the Generic roms? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

I am trying to set up a kitchen (for personal Use )
And I need to find the base roms to use, so that I can run the setup.sh script against them, and do all the things that one must do to get a kitchen up and running.
So, who has the vanilla roms as 'released' from tmobile, etc.
I need:
4.00.05 ENG WM2003
4.00.05 ENG ppc2003
4.00.10 ENG T-Mobile US
4.00.11 ENG WM2003
4.00.16 ENG T-Mobile US
I dont think that I will try to 'support' the older pre-2003 roms.
If anyone has just the 4.00.16 TMobile rom, that would be great, to start.
I tried one from jeffs kitchen, without any addins, but it does not work when I try it... I need one before it has been modified.
I know that there was a website, ftp.alain-net.net, or something that hosted a bunch of roms, but I cannot get on that site anymore, it is down.
Anyone?
Thanks,
J

Just go into the kitchen and deselect everything. You would want to have the hotfixes though.

Where would I find the ROMs for a ROM kitchen?

Hello, all.
Where is the best place to download the standard roms to be used by the ROMKitchen?
There was an ftp site (ftp.alain-net.net) but the password does not work anymore.
You see, Jeffs kitchen is down (has been for a day) so I was going to look into creating my own kitchen.
So, is there a 'good' place to get the roms?
Looking for:
3.17.xx
4.00.05
4.00.10 TMobile
4.00.11
4.00.16 TMobile
etc..
Thanks, all.

UK 02 4.0.0.x PPC2003

Hi ya fellas.
I upgraded my XDA 02 UK pda to 4.00.05 and am fairly happy with its stability. A few probs with the backlight going off, but nothing much really. Windows Media 2003 is class.... encoding films with windows media codec 9 is a joy and they work every time...no codec conflictions, cache settings etc, and the quality is cool.
However, i wish to get a plain (i.e. No added cooked programs) ROM.
I could use Yorchs kitchen to cook up a plain 4.00.05 ROM again, but would rather give 4.0.0.16 ago. It's labled as a T-Mobile USA rom... I however have a UK o2 model xda. If i download the GSM 800/1800 changer utility with it, should it work ok?
Also, will this ROM update my radio stack. I'm currently running 4.21 (the official latest update for o2 uk xda's)... i dont mind if it does update it, but compatability wise, what odds am i running of it working ok?
Ive got an SD reader/writer and have a backup of my old rom just in case i need to go back via bootloader mode.
Thanks for listening
You XDA-Developers are good people (if a little to smart for my likeing
Tony Kett.
probably none since you're only updating ROM and not radio stack.
the cleanest method is obviously using the SD.
btw ... can we have your ROM to look at ?
Thanks
Decebal
my Rom (4.00.05) is just the one thats on the yorch site (with extra apps etc).
>probably none since you're only updating ROM and not radio stack.
- So if i update to 4.00.16 from yorch's site, theres no Radio stack upgrade? and the t-mobile USA version of this 4.00.16 (thats presented on the site) will only update my OS?
http://www.yorch.net/ - if you didnt know btw.
And a bloody good site it is.
So any other O2 UK XDA users upgraded to 4.00.16 or above? (4.00.21)?
I know your out there :!:
updating to v4.00.16 in the uk on a uk device will make you loose the ability to use orange/one2one in the xda as 1800mhz will be replaced with a none working 1900mhz
meaing your phone will have a 1800/900mhz radio but 1900/900mhz software which cant control the radio properly.
use v4.00.05 or v4.00.11(best option) so that you can use all uk networks.
4.00.11 ?
where can we get 4.00.11 ?
the rom kitchens :|
th 4.0.0.11 rom is not available on Yorch Kitchen.
It was on Jeff's Kitchen but the site is down.
Could some one upload the rom 4.0.0.11 on a server to share??
regards,
Yann
gazzaman2k... exactly the answer i was looking for. Cheers Mate.
Now to find a 4.00.11 Rom
Your right, yorch doesnt have that one. Anyone fancy hosting it.... or if possible, email me it at [email protected]
Cheers People,
Tony
So I take it that its not possible to change the 1900/900 to 1800/900 on those newer t-mobile roms (4.0016 & above)? No changer utility? Cant do it in the bootloader :?:
Dammit.
Just out of curiosity, what is the latest unofficial radio stack that people in the UK are using.
The 4.21 official one has been out for quite a while now, but ive seen no unofficial updates to this :?:
Tony
Ajektt, ther is an official update to the 4.21 Radio Stack it's the 4.21.X1
I have it installed, I don't see mutch difference, maybe a better signal mesure.
Doese some one have the 4.00.11 Rom?? I could host it if some one sends it.
Yann
actually with 4.00.21 comes 6.24.00 RSU.
Who wants it ... pm me ... or you can find it at yorch's site.
I need the 4.00.11 too.
Decebal
decebal, we are talking about o2 uk xda compatible radio stacks and os.
4.00.21 and 6.24 RSU Uses 1900/900 GSM ranges, not 1800/900 from what i've been told above in the forum.
Tony
will people pack it in emailing me for v4.00.11 yeah i have it but its cooked especially for my xda meaning the ecurity rom was cooked also  if i had a plain version id be happy to share but as i dont i wont share the version i got as the rom contains my name+details and phone numbers ect.... hence why i havent uploaded it to my webspace and shared
Thank you gazzaman2k!! We understand you can't share your cooked version.
Maybe Jeff still hase in his archive an uncooked 4.00.11 version of the rom?
Could Yorch include it in his kitchen??
Dose some one has a uncooked version or a cooked version of the 4.00.11 rom with out the security option?
fair enough gazza 8)
We need to harass Yorch to get it up on his superb kitchen. I think we have our work cut out though, because he's getting requests left, right and centre for things on there, which is pretty harsh on him (and his team)
If anyone does manage to get the nbf file, so i can dump it in an .exe install that would be great
for all those concerned about the ROMs on Yorch.net:
Well, for those who know me know that I am about to get married in 2 months, and I just moved with my fiancee to a new apartment. Before moving, I sold EVERYTHING, that includes my 3 desktops pc (including my main PC), and my desk. Since my the new apt, is not that big, I chose not to buy me a desktop, but a laptop, by the way, the laptop that I just bought is the HP pavillion zd7000 series custom made for me  , 3.06ghz of sheer power....arhhh, arhhhh, arhhh <----[trying to imitate Tim Allen]
Anyway, you problably know what that means, right, I've been without a home PC for the last 2 weeks, and I'm scheduled to recieve my new laptop by next week (hopefully), so no changes to the websites, and no changes, really, if you can get smart people to figure out the changes for me, I'm sure I could do them online or from my work computer, but in the meanwhile, I can't do anything......so stop harrasing me with the 4.00.11 rom already! 8) .
hahaha
Consider the harrisment stopped.
Enjoy your move... i moved 2 weeks ago and im still aching

If anyone can host the 4.00.11 Rom, i can send it via Email.
Got it in nb1 format, so it should work.
Played few weeks ago little bit with the kitchen, but didn´t get it really working. Maybe because my computer is too slow.
Regards
Stefan
can we get the 4.00.11 plain rom out of the nb1 file (nbf?)?
If so we should then be able to cook another rom on yorch's site (i.e. a 4.00.05 one), build it as an .exe. Then once we have the exe, we should be able to drop the 4.00.11 file in to replace the 4.00.05 one that we cooked...no?
But can u extract stuff from nb1's?

Differences about 4.00.05 ENG WM2003 and 4.00.05 ENG pp2003

hallo
I would like to cook my own ROM for my O2 XDA I
In page http://www.xda-developers.com/DemoKitchen/ I can select between:
4.00.05 ENG WM2003 (3906 kB available)
4.00.05 ENG ppc2003 (3906 kB available)
4.00.11 ENG WM2003 (3906 kB available)
what differences are there between WM2003 and PPC2003?
I've XDA I : must I use 4.00.05 ENG ppc2003 or can I use 4.00.11 ENG WM2003?
Thanks
Marco ITALY
you do know that the demokitchen is a demo and cant really make roms for you right ?
go to www.yorch.net
and look if he also have
WM2003 and PPC2003?
if he dont then it dont really matter
Unfort Yorch.net doesn't have 4.00.11 ... my advice is to use 4.00.05 so you can move to another ROM later if you decide. ROMs 4.00.16 or .21 will require SD card to upgrade from them.
windows mobile 2003 wm2003 / pocket pc 2003 both same things
How to upgrade to 4.00.21?

Does Yorch's site still have a virus problem? Better be careful.

No virus problem on Yorch's site/kitchen. It's in some antivirus programs that need updating.
I stand corrected. I myself have not had an issue but just relayed prior posts. I suppose this is how rumors get started. Sorry.

Changing from WM2003 Beta to 4.00.05 ENG WM2003

I am using the Seimens SX56 unlocked and on the T-Mobile network. I am using the WM2003 Beta ROM and the radio stack upgrade that came with it. No problems.
I am however having memory issues and have cooked a ROM @ Yorch to put some of the stuff I usually install to memory placed in the ROM.
4.00.05 ENG ppc2003 is the ROM I cooked (SD card method).
Questions (looking for a little confirmation)
1. Does it work with SX56?
2. This will only upgrade the OS and NOT the radio stack right?
3. Am I giving up any functionality by switching to this ROM vs. current?
4. Am I missing anything?
I am confortable installing the ROM vis SD method. I am going to back up my current config to SD and then install the new one... Just want to make sure it is worth doing in advance.
Thanks
to answer ur questions,
1. yes it works on SX56.
2. yes it will affect only the ROM part and not the RSU.
3. the only missing feature (if u have it!) is the wmodem application.
4. No
however, 4.00.05 is not so far from the beta ... TMO 4.01.00 or ATT 30.09 are the latest versions. you can extract the nbf file from any of them and try it on ur xda and this will keep the RSU untouched as well.

NON T-Mobile upgrade

Hi, I'm trying yesterday to kitchen my own ROM and I found some problems with 4.01.12 ENG O2-Euro - it told me that there is problem with kitchen this ROM. But I want some ENG ROM without T-Mobile.
Another issue is I want to make my own - I dont need all the stuff on XDA Special 1.2 ROM.
I tried also Siemens and Rogers, but have problems with them...
Any suggestion?
Thanks a lot..
Where is your problem with 4.10.12?
Stefan
