O2 XDA with WM2003? - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Will O2 bring out a official WM2003 release?
Can anyone verify that the 4.00.11 ENG WM2003 in the ROMKitchen works with a O2 XDA.
Thanks

confirmation
Yes, I can confirm that this version works. I run it on my O2 XDA with radio version 4.21.00. Great combination.

Same for me , it rock's

Is there any problem ? For instance, can you use the buttons to reply/hang up calls ? Will it be possible to make upgrades ?
Thanks,

Is the signaling bar status good with the 4.00.11 ENG WM2003 .How much bars do you get .
With 3.17 ENG PPC 2002 i get three bars the max in the UK.
And also what about GPRS always on?

Qtek 1010 software for O2 XDA?

I have for a long time been looking for software updates for my O2 XDA (I have ROM 3.02.00 ENG and radio version 4.01), but with no luck.
Now I have noticed new software for free download for the Qtek 1010, apparently ROM 3.16.13 ENG and radio 3.19.01 (should this be 4.19.01?)
Is it possible to use these 2 files to update the software?
As my O2 XDA is unlocked, I wonder whether updating the ROM and the radio version will have any effect on the unlock, i.e. could the phone change to locked?
Best regards

Where have you found these files!?!? I have a Qtek, but haven't heard anything about no upgrade. You bet I'm interested!

Can be found for download on these sites:
http://www.idedata.no/
http://www.klingtech.dk/produkter/Qtek-1010.php
I am still curious whether this upgrade can be used for O2 XDA.
Anyone for a test?
Best regards
Allan
It's working! I just upgrade the radio rom from 4.16 to 3.19.01.
Sound more like a downgrade then a upgrade.
Did you also did the winCe rom upgrade?
Don't look at the first number in the OS or radio versions, it denotes region. 4.16 is an older version than 3.19.
Was the upgrade done on a Qtek 1010 or a XDA?

They only say, somthing about sending the OS via eMail. It seems, that there now downloads left ...
Has somebody got that Download and is willing to share it with us ??
Thanks
The image can be downloaded on the first site...
however, I have just reflashed my XDA/MDA with the older irish ROM, it has plenty more features than this one, GPRS standby and ISDN call type.
Don't trust the version numbers

Think this might be more usefull http://www.idedata.no/programmer/ce316upgrade.zip For CE
And for the radio
http://www.idedata.no/programmer/radioupgrade.zip
Please note you must first upgrade the CE version then the Radio...upgrading the radio only can cause problems

You are wrong, the Radio update goes first and patches WinCE.
btw. don't use the update, really, use the Ireland O2 update ROM.
Strange file after updating
I have upgraded my Qtek using
http://qtek.dk/software/upgrades/316-CE-update.zip
http://qtek.dk/software/upgrades/Radioupgrade.zip
I performed all the instructions correctly and my pocket pc now has the
upgrade. However, in the remove programs, there is a file called HTC RSUupgrde.
I dont know I don't have to remove this or should it actually be there on my pocket pc? What happens if lets say I have to do a
hard reset and I lose this file?
Any suggestions? :?:

New Dutch O2 ROM Version v3.17.03 and Radio Version v4.21

 Maybe you already know this, but the Dutch O2 site offers a upgrade to Rom v3.17.03 and Radio v4.12. I'm currently downloading this version so I can't tell what's new so rest will follow !
You mean Radio 4.21 probably, not 4.12...
 Sorry, type-error. I didn't see on the O2 site what's improved in this version. I hope less 'No signal' messages !!
Can i use the unlock on this versions ?
regards. lars
I already managed to get my xda unlocked thanxs anyway!!

Flashing Radio Version

Having problems with Radio Version 4.21 from England, ie the phone will not work (I am in Australia). The phone was working OK until I performed the upgrade
It has been suggested that I install Radio Version 6.12 from T-mobile and I have downloaded the file from Yorch, this comes up as an nbf file and I wonder if I should flash it as I can not find RSUupgrade.exe. Any suggestions ?
Chris
You downloaded the wrong file go back to Yorch's site and look under Upgrades and download "USA T-mobile Latest Radio Stack (Unofficial)
RU 6.24.00".

dont Australia use 900/1800 like europe ?
if that is the case the us RSU would ruin the phone even more

Radio Stack for Australia
Wed Nov 12, 2003 13:10
Hello Qman,
Thank you for your reply! But great news here as I have managed to get my RSU version to work in Australia.
My carrier is Optus and SIM card is fine.
Basically by trying most RSU versions I wasn’t able to get the phone to work. Funny thing is I tried the RSU version for the O2, which is supporting here in Australia but to no avail! I ended up using the new T- Mobile for the US and works like a dream have fully signal as well.
New version is RSU 6.24.
Cheers Erebus,

Further to my problems I upgraded to the T-mobile 2003 ROM an their latest Radio stack 6.24 and all is working OK.
I had sent the XDA to Melbourne (Australia) to the accredited Service company (Accord) and they had sent it back saying that it was buggered. I had some very helpful advice from Peter and Joe and have everything working fine. Curiously, when I had XDA 1.2 and the T-mobile Radiostack the phone kept crashing after reboot. Since upgrading to T-Mobile 4.00.21 ENG and Radio version 6.24.00 all works well.
I did try to download some Medical software (MIMS) and thisd has proven to be a bit of a problem. The tech dude at MIMS was not too impressed with Pocket-PC 2003
Chris
Great, glad to hear it all worked out ok! 8)
Seems R 6.24 works in many wheres ... I put it on a friend's XDA and it works now (Egypt 900/1800) ... just wonder if it's wise to go for ROM 4.00.21 or keep the 4.00.11 .... I heared that you can't change the ROM after T-mobile ROMs ... is that true ?

Thats great news on RS 6.24, thanks for the tip!
As far as not being able to change ROM's after upgrading to a T-Mobile WM2003 ROM, it will still work but you must use the SD card boot loader upgrade method.

Help needed, this morning I flash my XDA with USA T-mobile Latest Radio Stack (Unofficial) but not working for my GSM 900. So I flash it back to O2 Latest Official Radio Stack RU 4.21 but it flash until 83% stop forever. So i do a soft rest. Then my XDA can't boot. Can someone help me out on this method? I'm in Malaysia. Using 900/1800 bandwidth.
Hi ...
If you have taken SD backup before upgrading, then go for bootloader menu, press Calendar button, and turn off the Radio part. Try to flash your XDA back to the original ROM and RSU, and then perform a hard reset.
In case you didn't, try the Qtek offical RSU 3.25 from http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/downloads.php?region=Asia Pacific. It works good for Asian operators.
Good luck
Problem FIXED... Thanks for the big help.

XDA with WM2003SE --> BAD

i have upgraded my XDA with WM2003 to WM2003SE with the .EXE ROM i've got from LumpiStefan. And there are so many trouble on it. My device goes slow and often hang so I need to soft reset it many times. When I've got new message (SMS) , It doesn't appear in the screen if I turn off the screen. So , just the sound. The signal is poor. There is no wireless modem and photo contact anymore like in WM2003. What can I do with this ?? Can I go back to 4.01.12 ENG ROM (WM2003) ? How ?? Can I just run the .EXE file again ?? Which WM2003's ROM best ?? 4.01.12 ENG or 4.01.12 o2 EURO ??

I think the WM2003SE was and is still a beta version for the Wallaby devices.
I never said, that the ROM is working perfectly.
Signal strengness should be the same as in all other versions, cause the radio stack has not changed....
You should be able to flash any other ROM via EXE-File to your device. I would suggest to make a hard reset before flashing.
In my opinion the best WM2003 ROm in English is the 4.01.12....
