WiFi Networking

Ok, I need help here.
I managed to put up a WiFi Network on my PC and got everything working.
Browsing the internet, for 1, second i can look up browse everything on my Shared Drive (mostly Media Files)
The Problem is that i can't open any of these Files on my JAM including .JPG, Wav, and MP3 Files.
I can play those File extensions on my JAM, so i know the file Format is not the hot issue here.
Any help is appreciated......i looked on this Forum, but no help.
Try using Resco File Explorer, it should allow you to open files on your Jam. I couldn't get the built in file browser to open files over my network.
Thanks will Try that

Saving Images from Google etc

Hi
Is it possible to save images from the IE or Opera browser? I want to save some Google/image gallery pics to use in presentations while on the move but can't save them? I've tried the only method I can think of using the menu options I have - highlighting the image, copy and then paste into file explorer but that doesn't seem to work either?
Any thoughts please?
Have you tried holding down on the image you want to save??

Thanks DMAND.....it's always simple when you know how ;-)

File and Directory browsing

I am coming from Windows Mobile experience and I have a basic file browsing question. Using Dolphin I downloaded a YouTube video I wanted to watch later. It just occurred to me though that I have absolutely no idea how to browse to find that file. Is there any sort of file or directory browsing possible?
What am I missing? Where are downloaded files stored? How do you access a file on your memory card?
If you open the photo gallery, you will see any Videos in there. Android doesn't come with a normal file browser for some reason.
Most of us use Astro file manager, which is free. You also would want to install OI File Manager if you want to add non-jpg attachments to emails.

Thank you Humpa. I found the videos there like you said. What if I download a word doc or pdf? Would that be as easy to find? I downloaded Astro File Manager. I will play around with it soon.
I also find it surprising that there is no file browser. Thanks again.
File Browser
You can also try ES File Explorer. It's a great file browser with the ability to browse your NAS and LAN Networks.
I have ES too. Along with what mrmomoman said, it also does ftp. And that LAN browser is handy for some people (and it does samba shares as well).

Internet shortcut images

Hi all,
My HD2 is having problems adding images to the shortcuts to favorites on the Internet tab. Most of them stay empty.
Is there a way to manually add images to those shortcuts?
I've tried searching, but couldn't find anything about it.
I hope someone can help.
Thanks!
Jan
Same problem here
Only one of mine has an image and the others don't. If I delete the one that does have an image and add it again the same image comes back.
The image is stored in folder /windows/Opera9/profile/images and has a .icn suffix and the file name is the url address. I can't find any program that I have that will open the .icn file to see what is in it.
Icon image file used for Windows file and folder icons; saved in a bitmap image format that can be opened by various image editors.
These will:
Adobe Photoshop CS5 with IconBuilder plugin
ACDSee Photo Manager 12
XnView
XnView is free but it does not look anything like the image when it opens it. Re-naming the image .icn to another favorite url does not bring it up under that favorite.
I have Opera 10 as default from that tab so maybe that is why it does not work correctly.

i think this is what you're looking for
@johnboatcat, @damnshah,
Thanks a lot!
Just what I was looking for!

If you don't want to make your own thumb images but are happy to have the default one, what I did was click on a shortcut without an image, wait for it to load fully, then exit opera and do this for each shortcut... The page must fully load...

[Q] Non-Image E-Mail Attachments?

I think I might be missing something here..
I've been trying to send a non-image file I have on my Xoom to a friend via the stock e-mail client and when I try to add an attachment it opens the "Gallery" as opposed to a file explorer like I would have expected (also side question, is there a default file explorer on the Xoom?) and the only files available for selection are images stored on the device.
Anyone have similar behavior or a work around to attach non-image files to an e-mail using the stock client?

Install Astro file manager and it will give you the option to browse files.
