I planning to use your manual to upgrade to 4.00.11 ENG WM2003 from my current ROM 3.17.03 PPC2002 ENG.
my man concern is backing up my ROM 3.17.03 PPC2002 ENG can i use XDA Tools to do this :?: I do not own a SD/MMC card reader is this required to backup my ROM with XDA Tools :?: Can you confirm please.

Thanks. I hope you don't mind me doctoring your XDA Dev. logo the way I did. I didn't have time for full fledged graphics generation.
The manual has a long way to go. I have several things planned for future releases.

Yes. You can use XDAtools to backup your SD Card to a file. I'm afraid, however, that you will need an SD/MMC card reader for any read/write operations to your SD/MMC card from XDAtools.

Good, because there's also still a few things missing from the program as well. Mainly it doesn't signal that it's done very well, and it could be even more user-friendly in a few spots. We'd be glad to hear about bugs and possible improvements.
you should be able to copy a rom directly from your xda memory to an sd card inserted in your xda's sd slot.

What a dream ! Thanks a lot for all the hard work you're all doing !Bravo !
Well... sort of maybe it could be part of XDATools. I would LOVE to be able to "mount" my SD card as a drive, and perform operations on it from the PC. Seems to me, I should be able to use that SD card as a portable data storage device, without having to copy files to/from the PC. Your code that allows raw writing of the SD card could be a real good starting point.
Maybe too much to ask, but I'd love it!

I think writing a filesystemdriver is rather complex.
the easier solution would be to buy a 30 euro sd card reader.

Ok. Now it´s done .....
Rom is available.
Until now there are a few linitations with this ROM:
1.) Bootimage are not adjustable. Needs more investigations
2.) Flashing is only via EXE-File possible, because this ROMs are little bit bigger than the normal an xdatools checks the filesize.....
3.) Part of ROm that was reserved for backup is used in this ROM, so those data will be destroyed while flashing.....
ROM is available without any additional Programs (Download the Attachement) and also already included in the kitchen (http://lumpistefan.dyndns.org/).
I cannot gurantee, that all is working fine. So flashing is on your own risc....
Also it would be great if some nice guys donate for the xda-developers or for me. Link ares available here and on my kitchen....

when will it be revealed in german?
It's working good and it's faster- movies works faster.
I hope that SD card erase bug is fixed.
I tested it, so far working and fast. I'm just waiting the Sd-Erasure bugg... I hope it wont happen....

Don´t know. Myself only had this problem one time in using the xda with WM2003 for 1 1/2 Year. WM2003SE i have running now for 2 days. So i can´t tell it really....

Don´t know. Myself only had this problem one time in using the xda with WM2003 for 1 1/2 Year. WM2003SE i have running now for 2 days. So i can´t tell it really....

I think it does not (i repeat, i THINK). The sd-erase bug was a bug in Windows CE 4.2 (WM2003 based on that), and there were a patch that correct that bug (if you have the WCE4.2 source of course ), so WM2003SE should be patched.

There are 2 possibilities:
1.) Wrong device. This only works with Wallaby devices (XDA I / MDA I / ... )
2.) You have rom that prohibits flashing via exe (e.g. 4.01.16) Than you have to downgrade first via SD-card (e.g. Special Edition ROM) and then upgrade to WM2003SE

I had rom 4.01 and had to downgrade to 3.17 with SD to be able to upgrade to 2003SE, i did that but now it hangs at boot screen and the problem is that i dont have a card reader and even can not sync, how can i make another image on SD or any other solution?pls

Right, time for another hard-reset has arise, so I though I may as well get these issues clarified. I haven't had any luck searching the forum for them, but I know there's defo been threads on them before:
1. What app can I use to make my wizard/mini sd card come up as a mass storage device instead of using activesync when I dock? I tried softick but it doesn't work.
2. What's the Registry mod to make media player go to storage card library as default?
3. How do I set up my GPRS/MMS stuff? I managed it on the old ROM, but the latest 02 rom seems to delete my connection settings for fun. Is there a .cab installer I can use?

Are u using the latest softick? I'm using 2.17 and its working fine. Also i think the free alternative is called WMstorage.

I've been searching but there seems to be loads of variations
I want to try this before going down the new Rom route

a word of advice m8 these developers know what they doing and if u upgrade that 02 rom it will slow to a halt thats why they tweak the whole thing to make it run well

theres what i used it even has all the extras built in alternative networks etc only thing i added was htc to get custom tabs i like cartoonie ones

So if anyone else w/ experience can help here's my question:
I downloaded his Artemis 3.01 Touch lite ROM and unzipped file. Now what do I do? Do I need to install the EnableRapi and Cert_SPCS cabs before going to step 1? Do I need to run Artemis_USPL first seperately? I borked my SMT5600 trying to put a WM6 rom on it and am very weary of doing it to my precious Artemis.
If anyone could help w/ simple instructs also thanks.

the Touch ROMs, when unzpped has 2 bat files. It's clearly named "step1", "step2".
Just follow. Shouldn't go wrong. Step1 is actually the USPL.
Ok got it to work but, man, what a wild ride. It's really fast and I recommend doing this ROM update rather than trying alot of cabs.
Hays, its well worth just doing the ROM update. If you use Meschle's ROMs, they are fast and soo stable.

so, is there a way of installing bioscroll/cube without changing the ROM? I can't use the USB cable to connect to a PC (i have to copy cabs onto Micro SD, then install). My USB circuit has blown up from charging in the car so syncing no longer works, and phone is out of warrenty!

i meant that i cant change the ROM, so i would need to install it onto the ROM i am using (standard T-Mobile WM5 ROM)
Is this possible? if so, could someone link to the files/thread, i have searched but not found seperate files, only ROMs.

Upgrade BIN file for any TG01/ROM, in SD Downloader + Pin(1+3)
This is a easy:
1) Copy ROM TG01WP_00.bin to SD Card/prg folder
2) Without SIM Card
3) Try Pin Method 1+3
4) ROM upgade now.... maybe 1 or 2 minuts
5) this is a fasters method

The difference seems to be obvious. Because .bin file is not encrypted, TG01 bootloader does not waste any time for decryption process. It allows us to suspect that flashing procedure will be faster and collegue Nokser mentioned about it.
It takes 1-2 minutes as He said.
And as I always say, why people use 3-pin method having more covenient and safe way by sdll+.exe ? Only not bootable roms should be flashed 3-pin method.
People like to play with electrostatic shock.

sure, i use short pin method only if my "test" Rom not boot! standard and save method is sd card and ssdl+.

I'm installing WP7.5 onto my htc hd2 and after much reading its starting up.
But then WP shows message the sd-card can't not be read. I search more on XDA and found some tips and tried those , but still no luck ( installed radio 2.15 , ... ).
I'm trying with a 8Gb SDHC from sandisk.
Does any size works , or must it be a 16Gb card ?

no matter which size, must be unlockd and formatd to fat32 before flash wp7

The sd-card was ntfs formatted after re-formatting to fat32 and re-installing the rom , its working.
Now it ask for activation code, but much to found about this on xda

This worked perfectly for me, just don't tell them that you have a HTC HD2, tell them you have HD7.

Yep. I used the online chat and all they asked me for was my phone number and then gave me my code. I was kinda shocked how easy it was. You'd think Microsoft would have found out by now from the sheer number of people asking for a key lol.
I don't know, I would think they should have understood it by now, but I'm not sure since it's still that easy. I think it's 15 $ for a licence or something and they just give it away that easy, but I'm happy. I was shocked to, it was ridiculously easy to get that code.
