Hi,
it is possible to buy a HTC Pocket PC Phone Edition in the US with SIMlock, unlock it, get a new rom and use it in the german o2 net. Which parametrs do i have to check (because i no nothing about band (800/900/1800) or typicall US software).
Is there anybody who has tried it already.
Sincerly
MAx
Easiest way is to check with a local outlet that sells HTC. Just walk in and look at a phone, preview the settings, and walk out. Unlock a phone with the Special Edition 1.2 ROM and input the settings. BOOM! You're all set.

Hello
My Question is if you can down grade the universal to WM2003SE
if you can do that you can use the unlock code we got on this forum
and if it is unlocked up grade to magneto (windows2005)
has anny one done this[/b]
Wouldnt make any difference as the Lock is held in the Radio Rom I beleive.
There also is no wm2003se for universal, it was designed as a 2005 device from start to end.
Nice idea, but I think making a working Unlock tool for the standard universal is a better idea.
is the o2 exec locked at all?
im travelling a lot between germany and uk, and therefore want to use my o2 plan simcard as well as my german eplus simcard.
The shop assistant in the o2 shop told me that i CAN use non-O2 simcards in the universal (o2 xda exec) without any problem. Could I also use a Orange PAYG simcard?
How much was it to officially unlock the phone?
thanks
Ive not received mine yet, but its possible they dont lock it. Unlikely though.
Can anyone with an Exec confirm if its provider locked?
Mine was unlocked on delivery. Also if you search these forums everyone else is reporting theres where not locked.
Can confirm that my Exec wasn't locked, tried both a Vodafone SIM and an Orange PayGo SIM with no problem.

theres no point downgrading to wm2k3....you'll only run into more problems...
wm2k3 is built to share ram for both ram and rom.....so, that means, your 43meg partition would have to be divided....and thats just too bad! So, i guess, you just need to stick with wm5 for the time being....and hope for a good rom update to come by!
Best,
San
I asked the woman at O2 this morning if it's locked and she said it would be... I'll let you know when I get it on Monday.
Hi, i'm new to this forum.
I'm having trouble updating my vario 2 to wm6. I would like the official version from t-mobile uk but when I'm taken to the htc website (http://member.htc.com/member/ProductRegistration.aspx) and try to register my mda i get this message:
Unable to register your serial number. The serial number you entered is not for an HTC branded product.
Register your product today to get free updates, applications and drivers.
You can only register HTC-branded devices (e.g. HTC Touch or HTC S620 ) here. If you purchased your device (e.g. T-Mobile Dash or Orange SPV E650) from a mobile operator, please check with your mobile operator if they have their own product registration service.
have they removed the update???
Does any body have the t-mobile installer that they could send to me or could u show me a link to get it from plz? I would really apreciate it.
thanks
Sean
Hi,
I'm new here too. I upgraded to WM6 a few days ago and I love it. I didn't register but I didn't know you had to.
Anyway here is the copy I used and it worked great:

Hey Seanie you have to go through T-mobile UK website to get the rom update. Not through the HTC website.
thx gareth824 it works great.
Hey guys i need some help,
I'm looking for the latest original roms for my HTC Niki P500 (Touch Dual) on the UK Orange network.
Does anyone know where i can get the latest original debranded roms.
Also where can i get an unlocking code for the HTC Niki.
thanks in advance
Hi there, I used OliPro's Nike Unlocker (which I googled) to unlock my HTC Touch Dual on Orange UK. It cost £5.40 but is well worth it IMO. I now have an O2 sim card in it.
What network do you want to use on the phone? You'll have to let me know how the signal is when using a SIM from a new network.
How did unlocking it go?
Unfortunalty i didn't get it unlocked, but i'm still trying to find official Roms for the device to either debrand or upgrade to WinMo 6.1.
Tried contacting HTC and got no information what so ever and Orange customer services guided me through the process of finding the relevent Orange webpage but the Handset isn't listed.
so i'm back to square one!!
thanx anyway
Hi there Robbiejuk08
I am new to this forum and have never seen a forum like this before for people asking questions and not getting any reply. Anyway as far as I know you need to get phone unlocked first. Then you will need a serial number from a generic htc. In other words one that has came from htc and not orange or any other operators. Then you go to the htc site and you will be able to upgrade phone with the generic serial number. But as I have found out it is impossiable to get generic serial number in the forums as people just are not prepared to give you their serial number.
Hahaha, I pushed the thank you button for you,
First of all, welcome,
It's great that you are willing to help people, that is the spirit, but unfortunaly this post was more then two years old
But you did it with the right intention so thumbs up.
Have fun,
Hi - i wondered if these can be unlocked - ive got an X1 at the moment which has performed brilliantly but id like to move to this phone if i can. Im up for getting one off of ebay but most are locked to tmobile or o2 of which i belong to neither (im on voda) if they can be then im there...look forward to hearing from anyone that can confirm....

Comfy
HTC HD2s can be unlocked. Use the SEARCH function before posting.
i did - i couldnt find anything - do you have a link...?
great, oh - and can they be reflashed with a generic rom..? the one im looking at is an o2 branded one so im assuming it will be populated with o2 stuff...or a cooked rom - dont mind which...
well, just pulled the trigger and bought it - should get it on tuesday so here starts my time in this area of the forum.....x1 for sale!
Flashing to stock ROM is not an issue. Just check the sticky in Leo ROM development. The question is if its SIM locked. Then just google for it
hd2 unlocking o2 uk
I am waiting for my unlocking code from o2... 26 more days to go.
My IMEI was refused by three different ebay unlockers as my phone is "very new".
o2 uk hd2 unlocking ideas anyone???
well, it seems somewhere on here is a guide for unlocking (i was told to search for it...) no reply on a link yet....
unlockitnow
unlockitnow.com got me a code for T-Mobile UK in 24 hours if you're in a rush. Unlocked HD2 now.
how much did it cost you....ive still got my X1 which is fine but....its a new toy....etc.etc...
well, it seems from looking through the various posts o2 are the more difficult to unlock....we do use o2 at work for our phones and blackberry's - so im going to mail our account manager and see if i can pull a favour....although ill keep looking around....
a little more info - the bloke that i bought mine off of on ebay was already one step ahead. Apparently on o2 at least there's a free service - if youre the original owner you can fill out a form and theyll unlock it for free although he has to wait 28days max for the code....if all else fails thats a start...
sorry - just cutting through everything - once my phone is unlocked can i just flash it with a stock rom straight from HTC??? - theres a new one on their site, and i did read about it in the news also - sorts out lots of problems apparently...
Not really, superCID means that you can use any sim card from any provider.
It needs USPL or HSPL to be able to install any rom.
Btw, it p***es me off that we need to pay so much for unlocking a phone...
a bit more info would be helpful - tried it?
That's the HSPL for the Blackstone. It's not created to work on our HD2.
I download the file. It's signed by Olipro !!!!!! Why there isn't a thread till now for HardSPL? Have you tested it?
Thank's for your answer
ah - thought it was too good to be true....at this point it would just be nice to reflash with the standard htc rom

Hi,
Really sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum.
I own a HD7 locked to O2 and my wife has an Omnia 7. I love the looks feel and screen of the Omnia 7 so I bought one that is locked to Orange. I need to get it unlocked so I can use my O2 sim in it. I have tried a few of the usual folks advertising for £19.99 etc. but they all say they can't unlock the Omnia 7/Orange combination, so I'm stumped.
Is there anywhere I can go or anything I can download to unlock this lovely little phone please?
I would try asking Orange themselves, worth a shot, u may even get it for free.
Sorted
Sorted, SRS Tools and £12.50 did the trick It would be nice to remove the Orange branding from the ROM tho :O

Where's the best, cheapest and legitimate place to unlock my Orange Uk Omnia 7?
UPDATE: Just googled SRS Tools and now unlocked my phone.
Whats this SRS Tools you speak of?
I need to unlock my T-Mobile UK omnia 7
Here you go: unlocksamsungonline dot eu/unlocksamsung/I8700
You have the option of two ways, the first is via a USB cable which is £12.50 and is almost instant. Or you can request an unlock code for £16 which can take 2-3 days.
I'm just about to unlock my T-Mobile Omnia 7, so I'll let you know how it goes. Just waiting for my phone to charge.
Just let you know that it worked flawlessly (via cable method). Make sure you read the instructions they give you very carefully.
Also, it will ask once it has unlocked whether you would like the device re-setting. I said yes.
Once you are up and running with your new sim, don't forget to setup your APN, plus download the Network Profile app from Samsung on the Marketplace so you can set the MMS settings. When I opened the profile app it had my O2 settings there already so just clicked on it. MMS is working perfectly.
