Where did I get my ROM image?

My Exec tells me I am running ROM version 1.30.107. I have never (knowingly) installed anything other than O2 official firmware updates. The current O2 firmware update 1.13.188.
So, where did I get 1.30.188?
I am getting 'USB Device Not Recognized' messages when I connect to my PC and I want to reflash the firmware to see if that solves the problem. But I don't want to install 1.13.188 if it takes me backwards.
Any suggestions?

Take the SD card out and put it into bootloader mode. Then, run the flash upgrade utility

The problem is I don't know where to get the official O2 1.30.107 (or later) release.

It isn't the firmware it's the PC. upgrade t active sync 4.5, then if the PC still does the usb not recognised thing then go into device manager remove it from there and try again.

Now, how do I replace the firmware if the PC doesn't recognise the Exec?
PsiDOC has made a few suggestions. I already have Activesync v4.5 and how can I remove the device from Device Manager if the PC hasn't recognised it.

camera and fm radio dead

i have an atom with ROM: kumara wm 6.1 last present

hardware- c1 Garmin rom
I was working on the wifi and all of a sudden the atom rebooted and shutdown.I tried to revive it with hardreset and restored partially but the camera and the FM radio function is dead,if I hit the camera button the system hangs and I need to reset the atom and when I go to the FM radio it plays but no display to work with.Guys can you help me out?
should I reflas my ROM? how do I do it? Pl let me know ur help would be greatly appreciated.

yes my problems were sorted out just the way ironeagle and Brian told me to reflash my ROM.I went back to WM5 the original ROM posted in WIKI,just follw my tread and strictly follow these steps and you can not fail unless you have a hardware bug in your phone.Now my phone works great and responds much better. WM6 upgrades not meant for serious office users good for experiments and be prepared to brick your device!!!! so I say stick to the original ROM and have fun ........love you wiki .......

Back to WM5 and glad I went back-Step by step tutorial

Upgrade to WM 6.5

I have an HTC P3600 and I upgraded to WM6.1 succesfully. but I have been trying to upgrade to WM6.5 for over aweek now i have tried everything but its not working.
Each time i connect to a PC i run into problems connecting to activesync on my win XP desktop.
The same thing happens with my 2 Vista laptopsh and when i finaaly get it connected. Each time i try to install WM6.5 by running the RUU, it disconnects after it gets to the point where it says "update".
Can anyone help me solve this problem.

Have you got Hard SPL installed? I say this because i went from cooked rom to original and it changed from olipro to official. Also i have been reading that a good way to flash is from memory card.There is a guide somewhere round here.

I have hard SPL installed. Were you able to successfully upgrade yours to WM6.5?
and is it possible to show me how you did it step by step if you can.
i had given up on getting a reply so i decided to stick with the WM6.1 i have, but if you can help me upgrade i would greatly appreciate it.

i upgraded mine by flashing the same way as i flashed any other 6.1 or 6.0 ROMs. Maybe you should try another 6.5 ROM and see if that work

Don't want to sound daft, but are you putting it into bootloader first? I did it that way rather than let the computer do it. Also i haven't flashed 6.5 as i am happy with 6.1 at the moment.
Also i have read that flashing with vista requires extra steps.

I Upgraded mine OK.
I couldn't get the flash update to work from Windows 7, but it worked fine when I reverted to running it from Vista. Ran the normal upgrade process from the PC, same as for previous 6.1 upgrades.

can you tell me which 6.5 rom you used, so i can try it probably i'm using the wrong one.

Just wildguessing, but maybe you could try altering 'enable advanced network functionality' in the 'USB to PC' setting.
BTW I use Chanvi latest 6.5 ROM and it works great. Now I'm waiting for his Utralite version, so I probably get the best ROM to be used with PointUI.

I think p3600 is to slow to wm 6.5

thanks everyone. But after countless unsuccessful tries, i finally deicded to give it up.
So i bought the Touch HD instead. Hopefully it will be easier to upgrade that to WinMo 6.5.

Want to install a clean rom on an htc wing from tmobile usa

Hello, I want to get rid of the original rom and install WM6.5 I have been searching for hours but since there is that much information, now I got confused
I have a folder on the desktop with several programs that just don't open with Vista. Some of them work but I get errors.
My cellphone is SIM unlocked, got the code from T-mobile itself. As far as I understand, in order to install another rom I need to CID unlock the device.
I understand that I need to "hardspl" the device in order to accept another rom. I have followed a guide to hardspl a device but the links to download the software are corrupted.
I am running windows Vista with Windows Mobile device center installed and synched with the phone , I know most of these programs only work with XP.
Can anyone PLEASE tell me the direct link where I can download the correrct software for my wing to unlock the CID? and also, if it is possible to do it under Vista?

Well, everything that is HardSPL works with Vista. You just need to follow the instructions EXACTLY. What do you mean by the files are corrupted?

Hello all,
I have a Vodafone Compact IV and want to flash WM6.5.
I was followed your description exactly, but after beginning to flash the Windows is crashing with blue screen and the phone is standing in white screen. I can soft reset it and everything is like before.
On the phone there is actually a WM6.1 from Vodafone Germany. My IPL and SPL is IPL 4.14.0001, SPL 4.14.0000.
Any tips for me ???

Reverting back to original ROM from T-Mobile's website?

I'm not new to flashing custom ROMs from this website, but I've never gone back to stock before on the HD2. Are there any steps I need to take to reflash the ROM from T-Mobile's website (the RUU .exe file), or can I just flash it as if it were any other ROM, through Windows Mobile Device Center?

Right just do a normal flash, once you download the update connect your phone n flash..that's it..and if you want to return the phone for warranty remember to also flash spl.. to make it stock
