I am on U firmware. Want to switch to Chinese to unlock bootloader. Anyone has any luck with that?
I got all 5 files plus pit file of API3 version but no luck.
U version is series 4 (9th digit of baseband) and Chinese firmware is series 2. I guess thats the reason.
If anyone could help will be greatly appreciated.

No official stock rom available for moto e4 and e4 plus mediatek variant still. official stock roms are only available for moto e4 and plus qualcomm variant. only a mediatek variant user can help you.

I managed to restore to (almost) the original stock by using the instructions etc on

Now says XT1761 again in hardware info

Not unlock the bootloader yet, waiting to know if there is a stable version of a custom Rom? And then have the GMS finally working, not with a Vmos solution!

Well unlocking bootloader for Huawei phones are basically impossible, especially if you have mediatek, so no one developed custom ROMs for it.
If you (paid someone ) and managed to unlock bootloader, you might want to flash this.
