Very Odd behaviour PPC 2003 / SPS GPRS Monitor - MDA, XDA, 1010 Software Upgrading

Let me know if anybody else has this problem... If you have version 4.001 of PPC 2003 and the SPS GPRS monitor installed try clicking just underneath the GPRSMonitor icon which is located next to the signal indicator at the top of the screen. For some reason on my XDA cliking here causes the 'SMS - Message Sent prompt' to appear even though no message has been sent. It's not intimitant at all it happens every time I click there.. bizzare or what defiently a bug which hopefully will be sorted out.. I'm hoping that messages aren't being sent!! otherwise after playing with it last night I must have sent 40+ messages (

why dont you move your spb gprs monitor icon on the left of the message icon, you wont have anymore problem check in you spb gprs monitor configuration to move the icon

good call.. moving the icon displayed the message icon indicating the the inbox was full.... however surely it is still a bug that when you click on the message icon it displays the 'sent sms message' prompt'..instead of the inbox full prompt.

Nope don't have that problem and device is a US T-Mobile.

sms indicator does'nt go away

Hi,
Please can someone help me with a friends xda2 (with 1.6 rom on it). thats how it got it????
The problem he has is that when a sms message is sent he get an evelope on the today screen and when you tap it is says message sent.
my question is how do you get rid of the envelope????
Please help me
Thanks alot
Zetex
same problem
i have same problem ...
Hi m8,
i hope someone has the answer, and also does anyone have this problem with the UK rom installed???
Thanks alot
Zetex
I have had the same problem on my XDA II
but when i got the next SMS it went
i even did a soft reset.
Now my wife's phone is a Nokia 3330 and she has the same problem
Just do a soft-reset to get rid of the stuck "sms sent" notification.
This happens when you have SPB Pocket Plus installed and set to close applications when you click on the 'x' symbol. If you close the inbox app before the "sms sent" notification goes away, then the notification icon (envelope) gets stuck.
You have two choices:
a) Remove SPB Pocket Plus or set it so that it does not close apps when you click on the 'x' symbol, or;
b) Wait for the "sms sent" notification to disappear before closing the inbox app.
Possible fix...
Hi,
I'm using an XDA 1 but should be the same fix for you luck XDA2 people...
Start -> Settings -> System -> Pocket Plus.
Highlight Feature "Close Button" then click "Feature Options".
Click on "Programs to Minimize".
Add "inbox" to the list and hopefully that will fix your problems... (it did for me anyway!)
Enjoy!
Follow-up...
Just to follow-up....
I think my solution is intermittent!
Try also adding "poutlook.exe" and "tmail.exe" to the "programs to minimise" button.
Of what I have read, "tmail.exe" is the one you want. But put the others in as a pre-caution.
If this still plays about then the only thing to do (unless anyone else knows what programs the Inbox runs) is what rene_canlas quite rightly says with regard to switching off the close button feature on Pocket Plus.
The only other thing to try is going to the Pocket Plus web site and asking the question: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/pocketplus/support.html?en
Go to the bottom of the page and ask.
Right,
Think I can help all of you! (maybe!)
Lets see if I've got this straight....
A text comes in and you get a wee white envelope icon in the top border with a "comment" box displaying the text message for a few seconds. If you do nothing with the comment box - or miss it (it only displays for a short while) and read the text through the "inbox" program the envelope icon on the today screen won't go away until you click on it and delete the text.
Pain, but it's because there are 2 routes to read messages which don't really talk to each other.
Hope this helps

SMS report won´t dissappear!

Hi! I used the small programm posted here on the board to have SMS reveivment notification permanently on but now face a new problem: sometimes the "message sent" (not the report that it has been received) report appears and the message sign on the top of my today screen won´t disappear! Any ideas why that is?
Do you mean the popup? that tells you a text has been sent.
This happens on all iMate jams, if you dont click the box to close it right away, if you click the background the box will disapear but will still be open in the background, if you click the info button again it will say text sent, and from that point you cannot close it at all until you soft reset.
So always make suer you click the notification right away to make it dissapear.
now that is a stupid solution but ok...good to know!thx

In Regedit, create a new key' Settings' so that it looks like this:
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Inbox\Settings]:
Create a new string value under 'Settings':
"SMSNoSentMsg"
Value: 1

Application : Pocket PC -> PC Displayer

Hi,
I'm looking for a program that sits in the system tray connected to my XDA. So if I receive a message, or a phone call it displays a popup on my screen. And if I miss a call, it shows this on the popup. I'd like something like the message popup you get with outlook where it displays the message for a few seconds before fading away.
Does anyone know if something like this exists?
Jeyo Mobile Companion is for this. It can backup your data too. visit www.jeyo.com
Sorry but this doesnt quiet do what I want.
I just want a system tray application notifier which alerts me to texts / emails / phone calls through a nice popup that fades away after x amount seconds - but leave maybe a counter in the systray of texts / missed calls etc.
How about a lo-tech solution?
If you have a desktop cradle, just move this so that the top of the trinity is just near the bottom corner of the screen. So now, when you get a call/text/reminder, you will see the orange light flashing

Text message notification icon disapearing

Hello,
couldn't find it anywere so i'll ask it here.
when i receive a text message, a text message icon appears at the top of the screen. But if i don't notice the new message, the icon disapears after a hour or 2 hours (don't know exactly) so it looks like i don't have any new messages.
but when i open messaging, i see that i have a new message (or e-mail, both same problem).
anyone else experiencing the same problem?
Curruntly running Dutty 3.6 (same thing with previous versions)

Never experienced this, then again I've never left phone for 1-2 hours before checking whether or not I've a message......actually, scratch that, when I sleep....DOH!!
Not sure mate as I always have icon at on top and also on bottom over emails or sms
I cannot tell yo the reason but I have a suggestion. Even if I had the notification there it still wouldn't be enough for me to notice it because it shows himself only once. That is why I am using this SERVICE. Yes, a system service, not a process "slot" stealer. Why service? Because everything that is built up to CE 5 (which actually means all mobile window's) cannot run more than 32 processes

Message notification problem.

Hi Folks,
This is a small, seemingly insignificant problem but it's bloody annoying so I'm hoping you can help me solve it:
When I receive a new message (SMS, MMS, Email) the little message shortcut on the desktop get's the little green '1' overlaid to show there's a message. Once I read the message and reply it doesn't disappear. I can open the message in Chomp or the system default app and it doesn't seem to register with the shortcut - it still shows the overlaid green number.
I know this is something of a trifling problem but I have my phone on silent a lot so it does cause some confusion.
Thanks in advance.
i've noticed mine staying on for a while but then disappearing... maybe it sits there for another 10/15 minutes?
Could be. I have to admit that afer about 10 minutes I've been losing patience and deleting the message, which makes it go away.
do u read ur messages through the widget page? cause i noticed that if u do, then the little green ball remains but somehow if u click on the message icon with the green ball to access ur acc and read from there, then it goes away.
I think that may be a factor, yeah. When I read them through the 'drag down' menu, either with chomp or system default it stays, I'll open the next one through the icon and see if that changes things.
I find that the trackball keeps flashing too unless you actually tap on the Messages shortcut icon to read the new messages that come through (as oppose to viewing from the notifications menu or through the text messages widget). I hope HTC fix this issue 'cos not everyone wants to go through the messages app via the Messages shortcut icon.
Yeah, I only used the messaging icon yesterday and it was fine. The problem seems limited to when you use the 'drag-down- menu.
