For T-Mobile (originale ROM modified with xda3nbftool.exe change OPERATOR from QTEK to T-MOBILE)
Using xda3nbftool.exe (attached here)
Download xda3nbftool.exe, and put it in the same directory as the 8 ROM files.
Fourth Step:
Build a batch file, name it change.bat or whatever you like in the directory where you put ROM files.
Paste the following in it:

j'ai pas pigé comment un fichier de 60 ko peut modifier une rom de 30 méga!
ça marche ton ruc ou ça modifie uniquement les chiffres dans proprieté?
ta mise à jour foncrtionne avec la rom originale s100 (celle avec la radion 1.00.10)

the attached file is not the ROM, it's just an EXE to modify the QTEK ROM into a T-Mobile ROM
Let's say I DL the ROM from the QTEK Website, the ROM is made for QTEK, if you have a QTEK and not an MDA T-Mobile
You just DL the 28MB ROM you double click you say next you wait 45 min and you have a new ROM
But let's say you buy your device in Germany, so you have a MDA T-Mobile (T-Mobile is the OPERATOR) and you want to be able to upgrade using the QTEk ROM.
You need to modify the ROM (acutally modify only the OPERATOR and the COUNTRY) so you don't get COUNTRY ID ERROR
You need to extract the ROM you just DL, in the same folder, on your PC you need to have the "xda3nbftool.exe"
you need to make a BAT file (like a text file using notepad, and you stick the whole line posted above (bellow and above the ------------)
You save this as BAT (example toto.bat)
You open a dos prompt, you run the toto.bat, and this will go into the files in your rom, and modifie the OPERATOR and the COUNTRY
In my case I repalce the WWWE with FRE
The simple way to do it is to have a folder right below C:\ name it 1 for example
So at DOS prompt you are at C:\ you tyoe CD 1 and you will be under C:\1
The simple the better (if you take un sub sub sub sub folder, and you name it "update rom from qtek to t-mobile in my bedroom......" this will take you more time to type it)
After that, I just update, as I will do if I have a QTEK and the ROM provided by the QTEK company
And it will work.
You can allway save the modified ROM for re apply someday or pass it to friends whohave a MDA T-Mobile and would liketo have it in French QTEK ROM

@stephane or anyone who isn't sure what language/operator to use:
I don't know if Jam upgrades are like hima upgrades
but in Himalaya you can see which one to use by :
running getdevicedata on your pda
copy \windows\devicedata.txt to PC
open it with Notepad, somewhere in there are language and country/operator your machine is now.
I always check this before doing an upgrade.

So I guess you buy it in Germany
So you need the second ROM (not the ORIGINAL)
Read my post above :
you buy in France or Belgium = ROM ORIGINAL
you buy in Germany (even if you have already modified the ROM from German to French) you still need the MODIFIED ROM
Any how if you really want to know, DL the original ROM (the first one above) start the process, the ROM will be decompress into a folder, than the ROM will send a file to your QTEk (no arm don't worried) and a message will be returned.
If the ROM see that you don't have an ORIGINAL QTEK FR it will return an ERROR (COUNTRY ID ERROR) and you wont be able to continue.
Then DL the other one and do the same things.
UNTIL YOU CLICK "UPGRADE" nothing append to your DEVICE (see print screen above http://forum.xda-developers.com/files/latest_rom.jpg (it will show you have this and that and we are going to upgrade your device to this and that) and you have to click UPGRADE

après 35 min de stress :roll: il s'est finalement rallumé en Qtek SANS aucuns message d'erreur !! merci beaucoup

It works great for me, but no real difference...
Still translation pb, for example : Camera -> Tools icon -> "Options" then the first menu is "Ajustar la vista" (it is spanish in a french rom ...)
Yesterday I had an error message in german when my phone was out of battery with a SD inside.

It's the same in Italian, probably there is an extended rom with the menu corrected

Yes I agree with you because the message come from the camera App, and this app come from the Extended Rom.
Do you have also the german error msg ?
Last thing, on some calls the name does not display even if the number is correct. If I call back the number the name is displayed well...

I see all the other messages in Italian, so the unique exception is that menu in Spanish.
I never saw an error in German.
Probably You have the contacts stored without your country prefix.. so they aren't displayed in incoming calls :?

windows mobile 2003 se or windows 2005 french version

hello everybody,
1- i have a m1000, orange (both in frence). i do not know how to find the version of the software and the hardware, and how many things (rom, flash, ... i am lost) should i know to update it.
2- i want a french version of windows media 2003 SE. i know that the 2005 is not fully functional, and a lot of bugs percists. this is why i went to the 2003 se. (if there is a 2005 release fixed with not lot of bugs in french or english i'll take it).
3- i'm also interested in the wpa encryption for the wifi. i don't have yet the mc wifi, so if anyone can show me a url to buy it not too expensive.
4- the second interesting point is the GPS. can i have it in my car without subscribe to a FAI ? i just want to buy the gps module, connect it to my pda, install the softs, => and it works.

i think your problem is that the only language that 2003SE have ever been released for is chinese and people here manualy translated each file
and even though 2005 have is in english then it would have to be translated by hand by somebody
now that nobody give official support for any of those versions on the xda2 platform
maybe you could do the translation yourself with the help of those who did the translation from chinese to english ?

i have such a feeling, that french wm2005 for XDA2 will pop up here within next days... ))))))

I have a ubiquio 401 which is identical to a Gigabyte g-smart
(has a slider keyboard), so I'm interested as well...
Your g-smart i is identical I think (64mb rom & ram), right?

well, a chinese unofficial WM6 (for gsmart i64) has been tested on gsmart and it works !!
the problem is screen orientation and buttons..
hope someone fixes this issue!!

Yes, go to that URL abova and you'll find WM6.1 ROM (English) for Gigabyte i128 & i120. I've upgraded mine succesfully.

I'm using actually a C600 under Bouygtel and i'm looking to change for a Cruise under SFR. Is it a good choice ? What about the GPS module ? Is it possible to us it without the expansive (and useless i think) SFR GPS service ?

=> I did not see a lot of difference between the HTC and SFR ROM
=> Tomtom can be installed on both version and is fully functionnal (but is not provided by SFR because of there own GPS solution)
=> Before buy the Cruise, look around the forum and make your opinion with the bad video performances of the Cruise. Or look at http://www.htcclassaction.org.

TOMTOM 6 Works very well with SFR ROM and With HTC ROM. HTC Cruise has a good receipt of GPS signal.

The Cruise is great. I have not really seen the "bad" video peformance, everything i use is working good...Enough for me, perhaps.
Next to my C600, there is no doubt !
Ok, the Camera is slow and not so good but i don't care. It's a phone after all
I will only use it from time to time ... so i doesn't matter.

My Maps-plus being on my SD Card (carte de stockage) TomTom 6 once installed in the mains, does not find the maps.
Can you please tell me how you did?
How do you create a link for TomTom to find the map and where?

TomTom maps should be in folders at the root of your "Carte de stockage" to be found. Create one for each and voila.

Actually, my Maps are in a folder called : France_Plus-Map together with others as well. The folder is in the root of the Carte de stockage.
Another little detail: TomTom 6 does not give you a choice, it just installs in the mains.
I am completely lost. LOL quelle honte!

Make a folder for each map because some map filenames are common (cline.dat, cname.dat, ...) thus your maps could be considered as corrupted.
Regading having TomTom on your storage card, once installed, just copy TomTom folder on your storage card and uninstall it from your main memory, then create a link to your navigator.exe file on your storage card. That's it (loke on you PC in fact).

I have worked with GhostXSeries to translate and provide the community with a WM6.5.5 Rom Kitchen including Sense 2021 and/or 2018.
I suggest you to have a look on the original threads (WWE version) for more details:

The main idea is to lock and remove the global thread in order to split and maintain 2 dedicated threads per version.
