Counter Strike : Source ported to Android(Proof of concept, need more work) - Shield Tablet General

Hi everyone,
After suffering a failure with portal 2(snif), I decided to try another game.
I successfully launch Counter Strike : Source on the Shield Tablet.
This is a proof of concept so there is a lots of bugs, thank you for your comprehension.
Edit : First video(uncut), game at 1:18

More screen from game

Bump. Video added.

First post update.

What are you using for recording the screen? I can't see anything like shadow play or something similar.
Not that i don't believe you but a video showing the tablet running it will give a bit more idea.

I use screen record pro, it was must faster than take my camera for recording and upload this video. Anyway, that's not ready yet for play. I'm working on it. Thank you for your support.
By the way you can see SCR Pro at the end of the two videos.

I would love to play left4dead, I am surprised that they arent already out officially

Mate, can you share your process for porting source games??
I know it must involve the current HL2 or something. I want Garry's Mod!!!
I'm working on a kernel for our device and dont ave the time to research the porting but can you PM me how exactly you do it? Cheers, I won't ever release anything!

For now it is not working properly, I'm not going to share something not functional, the garry's mod is planned, don't worry.

Wow, very impressive. Now i'm very glad ive sold my ps vita and bought me a nvidia shield tablet. What was wrong with Portal 2 and do you want to continue the work on that? The game i want next is garrys mod, that would be very awesome. Yes, we have Tibers Box 2 but i want the real stuff.

Some news

I am a developer myself, I am writing this now as I build a shield tablet kernel....will be releasing that too, but I was just asking how you did it, what the process was, so I could try myself (as a developer) -- it's not that I want an unfinished product and really want you to port&release gmod, I am interested in how you programmed it.
Either way, cheers. Look forward to seeing your thread once development kicks off....it feels super lonely being a shield tab developer because there's like 3 others who all maintain stuff for other devices
---------- Post added at 12:24 AM ---------- Previous post was at 12:22 AM ----------
Awesome. Looks like you've streamlined the port and installation, what kind of bugs are you tackling?
Come to think of it, us who are actually building stuff and getting the latest nvidia source and seeing what we can do with it....we should really have a chat or something. Do you have a skype or something maybe we can make a group for the 5 of us?

Wow this is awesome!!! Does this work with a bluetooth keyboard and mouse? Also, I know these ports run on different architectures, but do you think the Shield port could play online against PC users?

Maybe with the unofficial hacked versions of the game on PC. To play with the mainstream game, you need Steam integration
(SteamID, Steamworks, etc....), which is impossible since there is 0 Steam support for Android (Steam app doesn't include support for games).
But LAN should be possible in the long run.

Galatea 3D Game-Engine for WM = New snappy games for our devices!

Recently, while I googled for some stuff, I got my eyes on this headline of a new wm game engine. I looked into it and watched a few videos demonstrating it's functionality... well, it was pretty damn impressive!
The engine is developed by MindPol, and it has been existing for quite a while, just not for windows mobile. It is about to be ported though, and they write in the description of this video (an app made with their game-engine) that they'd like some attention to speed up their release. So, if there is anyone out there who would like some iPhone-like 3d games coming to your device in near future, I think it'd be a good idea to support these guys!
A quote from the description of the video I linked above:
"This game and characters was made in September 2008.
But we didn't complete yet cause of another project we do.
... Actually we need more support.
Please give us your interest and support.
Thank you "

Very interested. Will it be ported to the omnia?
u sure they gunna bring that to WM... all those vids were them playin on a DS
Hmm. Seeing this running on the X1 makes me wonder. What driver are they using? Standard X1 drivers on a standard X1 rom?
jeeeez i wanna have that stuff!!!!!!plsplspls.......i would love to see that demos on my x1....is there any way to get these demos?????
Hello, Thanks a lot for introducing our engine.^^
I'm a developer of this engine, Galatea Engine.
Yes, we succeed in converting PC version to WM version.
Now our engine supports Windows Mobile perfectly.
And the used driver (and rom) in that movie you saw is a standard driver which can be downloaded in Sony Ericsson Developer World.
As for Xperia X1, we used them.
Nowaday, our engine is more faster and better than before.
One more, Omnia doesn't support OpenGL|ES yet but D3DM.
However their new Omnia will support OpenGL|ES 2.0 and we are waiting for that. (In korea, we can't get any information of that device actaully.)
Anyway if you want more information, please visit our website www.MindPol.com or www.GalateaTechnology.com.
And today we released a trial game for Xperial X1 and some devices. Please check this on www.MindPolGames.com. (However it's not 3D game but 2D.)

You can get some samples at the link below.
http://cafe.naver.com/bjphone/288534
BUT THOSE ARE NOT STABLE VERSION.
(Check the date, they were uploaded.)
So it may make some problems. (Of course it's not big. Just turn off and turn on. In many cases, there is no problem.)
I will upload stable samples at www.GalateaTechnology.com later. I already got stable version, but I can't upload these now.)
Have a nice day!

Interesting, so you're developing this engine on stock OGLES drivers. Have you considered using OpenVG for this? It seems the MSM7201A devices like the X1 also support OpenVG with a few modifications. If you're interested, you can find a modified 3D driver which has that support in my signature.
Great work by the way, it seems to run perfectly on my Blackstone. (Touch HD)
wow!the demos run very smooth on my diamond!

Psgroove for android

First of all I can't code myself..
Second I don't know if I'm allowed to ask questions here
But does anyone know if it would be possible porting psgroove to android, I'm not asking if it has been done just if it is possible.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Yeah this would be really great. I do know an iPhone version is being worked on.
I hope someone manages to do it, the phones should be more than capable of running it aslong as the software has control over the USB port. Although I think it should be possible since I've seen software to make your phone a USB host for nexus and desire.
this guy is

What does this mean and how does it work... does it mean this:
Simple drag and drop data files onto our micro sd, then usb the android to the ps3 and it'll serve the same purpose as the dongle does? AKA, no need to buy psjailbreak or any other accesories?!?!
Yep that's basically what it means

wait for the video he is promising, also wait for others to confirm. Making an app is simple, making one that actually does what it claims is completely different.
I find it strange that he is asking for donations for an ipod/iphone when he hasnt finished the android port first, seems fishy but i am hoping for the best and waiting.

that mostly is a fake always he talk's about is an app that does everything but you have to patch the android kernel so as to make it access the low-level functions that we need.the android system is like a sandbox which wont allow an user to access the low-level stuff. But hey it's been promising KaKaRoTo came up with a n900 version of it.Hope some1 can p0rt it over to an android device
After extensive google search I have came my personal opinion (everyone has one) that this will happen in the future. The software used to make this is open source. Since android is based off of open source somebody will be able to make this happen. I personaly am not smart enough to do this. I see a lot of sites promoting this to happen with jailbroken iphones in the "near future" more but for it to happen with android phones is very proberble as well

Guys, I seriously think this netzke guy is deceiving everyone. Normally I don't like to be in this position calling someone a liar, but his blog posts are very awkward.
http://netzke.blogspot.com/
He just posted this:
I've been working pretty hard through this. I will be taking a few hours to sleep now. Your comments may not appear for several hours because of this. I'm not sure what the rest of the team is planning to do. Chances are they will also be taking a break for a few hours.
Beta for Iphone is open now. Beta release in the next week +- 3 days.
Beta for android is still open but we will be closing it soon
$15 will get you into the beta for sure. Others may or may not be selected given the large amount of applications. So your best way in is to donate.
A video will be released within the next few days. of both the iOS port and the Android port.
Those who do donate may not receive confirmation for a while. But we will try our best.
Donate button is on the top right for those who have been asking.
Thanks for understanding that people have to sleep

I made this comment on his previous post, but he did not approve it:
Ok, I'm starting to loose my faith that you are actually doing something. Time to show some proof. In all of your posts you didn't say anything technical about your progress. What did you accomplish so far? What are your main issues right now? You've been wasting more time asking for donation than in actual development. As for your screenshots, anyone with basic Android coding skills could make an Activity with buttons triggering Toasts in less than 10 min. Where is the video you promised?
AND FOR THE REST OF YOU FOLKS:
I can't believe there so many people dumb enough to give this guy money without him actually delivering anything useful.

so you could just edit for the usb controller on HTC phones, compile to the linux app, then run it through a terminal.
would be an interesting idea anyway

PSFreedom for Android? Is it possible devs?

hi guys,
I don't know if you're familiar but for some time there are some options available to jailbreak your PS3.
The smart guys of the world managed to do so via an USB Dongle and as well via N900 and it seems PalmPre.
Would this be possible via Android/HD2? I suppose it should..
Below are some links so that you devs can have a look at it:
http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65289
http://psx-scene.com/forums/showthread.php?t=65355

i have read that android must be on the root of the phone. so hd2 has no android root. i'm a noob so if i say it wrong than someone correct me.

Let's just hope the smart devs will get this on our beloved HD2s. I have complete faith in them! Just look around and you'll see impossible is nothing!
But I read in a website there that people were getting banned, so it kinda beats the purpose if you want to play online games. You would only be able to play story mode games with your internet disconnected.

All this PSFreedom thing does is load the PS3 into debug mode.

That is awesome! I would pay $30 for this app. Yongzh has said he is working on it for android. He created many of the current emulators, and in my opinion, the best ones. I imagine that like the PSX4droid app he made, not all ROM's will work on it, but even if I could run just a few of my favorite classics. I am thinking GoldenEye, MarioKart 64, Starfox 64, and Zelda.
These emulators, plus an AOSP rom with bluetooth fixed, wiimote controller app. That would really pass time at work, on a plane, in a hotel, on vacation with the inlaws. I can't wait.

ZodTtd, the dev of psx4droid, is in the middle of making one.
A few days ago he posted on twitter saying that he is experiencing a bug where nothing shows up on the screen. I'd imagine once he solves this, a few tweaks will be made then he will probably hand it over to Yong Zhang for him to work his magic (control overlay, settings etc)
This is exactly what happened with psx4droid
Maybe would should start a bounty to help move this along.

-decent fps with no sound
-bluetooth gamepad support
I don't have any java experience, but I have reasonable experience in other programming languages. When I get the time, I may take a look at porting it. If the full source code is available, should be hugely difficult to port. It'll be the optimisation that'll be difficult.
