Yeah this would be really great. I do know an iPhone version is being worked on.
I hope someone manages to do it, the phones should be more than capable of running it aslong as the software has control over the USB port. Although I think it should be possible since I've seen software to make your phone a USB host for nexus and desire.

I find it strange that he is asking for donations for an ipod/iphone when he hasnt finished the android port first, seems fishy but i am hoping for the best and waiting.

After extensive google search I have came my personal opinion (everyone has one) that this will happen in the future. The software used to make this is open source. Since android is based off of open source somebody will be able to make this happen. I personaly am not smart enough to do this. I see a lot of sites promoting this to happen with jailbroken iphones in the "near future" more but for it to happen with android phones is very proberble as well

may not even have to make an app for it..
readme has info on where to edit if you want to port it.
so you could just edit for the usb controller on HTC phones, compile to the linux app, then run it through a terminal.
would be an interesting idea anyway

Why would you avoid doing anything big to your phone? Set it up the way you want it to work for now.
Don't expect it to be fully working anytime soon. If we have a port with everything working except camera, gps, and blutooth in a year from now, I would say that's fast and we're lucky. These things take time... look at android ports for other winmo devices... none are fully functional yet even after years of development. Android is not something you're going to want to use on a daily basis for a long time.
Also, it will not effect your winmo part of your phone at all when its ready... it will be run from a storage card. Your phone will still be a winmo phone and boot into winmo first.... then you will launch haret from there to boot into android. Do some research on other android ports for winmo phones.... don't expect it to happen any different or quicker for the HD2. It will be probably a year before android is functional enough to want to use as your main operating system on your hd2.

I don't know if you're familiar but for some time there are some options available to jailbreak your PS3.
The smart guys of the world managed to do so via an USB Dongle and as well via N900 and it seems PalmPre.
Would this be possible via Android/HD2? I suppose it should..

and why do you say it won't work on the HD2?
i have read that android must be on the root of the phone. so hd2 has no android root. i'm a noob so if i say it wrong than someone correct me.

Let's just hope the smart devs will get this on our beloved HD2s. I have complete faith in them! Just look around and you'll see impossible is nothing!
But I read in a website there that people were getting banned, so it kinda beats the purpose if you want to play online games. You would only be able to play story mode games with your internet disconnected.

Actually no.. These things aren't actual illegal..
I remember some lawsuit from apple which they lost on this firmware modding.
All this PSFreedom thing does is load the PS3 into debug mode.

exactly. I'm rubbing my hands in anticipation of all the homebrew that'll be available. Proper mkv playback, better PS1/2 emulation than the original fat PS3's "hardware" PS2 emu capabilities, snes emulation, better browser (firefox?)... once it's opened up to run anything, the possibilities are endless

I wouldn't mind a WM7 skin. But I have my Xbox for Xbox Live...I don't really play the arcade type games, so I wouldn't have use of Xbox Live on my phone...unless you can put Reach, Tier 1, Crysis 2 or MW2 on a cell phone...with good jitter/ping/lag/etc.
Count me in for a wp7 port.
Ironically some proponents of openness only possess openness in their phones and not their minds. I'd like to see it happen just to see it happen.

Omg...have you ever used wm? It is incredibly buggy and maxed out with bloatware. Open source allies for changes. Wm us locked doing so it takes slot if work to change it and fix the problems with it. Wm is single handley the buggiest os out. Thus the reason why a new build of wm comes out every day to three days

Yeah WM is definitely buggy but WP7 is supposed to be not buggy and much more fluid.
I just like it for its xbox live integration and gaming features.
I just want to have it just to say. "I have an HTC EVO with android 2.2 that can look like an Iphone, run Ubuntu, play nice with Windows 7, float like a butterfly and sting like a bee" lol

Yeah you are right...the home page is kinda crappy looking...the other UI's look nice once you move away from the home page.
I just want the gaming part.....since Android is lacking in the gaming dept....
I just can't understand why everyone is going crazy and we don't even have a working unit or a full review. It's supposedly supposed to drop this fall but not even one unit?
I think it is rushed and they are trying to get in the game and secure a position. WM platform was dreadful for me hopefully this changes with WP7.

Big happenings recently in the Touchpad realm. Touchdroid, one of the groups who was developing Android for the HP Touchpad, has decided to release a dump of their build, along with instructions on how to install it. I have recorded my own installation in hopes that others might benefit from it.
Two things:

2. Be aware that this is not the Cyanogenmod version, and there are a few items that are not quite working yet.

How did you go back to previous screen without back button?
Also does anyone know if once the CM version is released the flashing process might be a little easier for the average user? I am not too comfortable with entering commands everywhere. reverend made it look easy because he was obviously familiar with entering command prompts. Either way I will be attempting it, just thought I would ask.

CM's release will be soon enough and will be fool proof. Unless you're reasonably familiar with the Linux terminal and ADB you're probably better off waiting. There's not much properly working on this version. You'll install it, play for ten minutes and them have to go back to waiting for a proper release. This is pre-alpha.

after have following the drama, around the stolen/lost code, I really think people should stop there personal [mod edit], and focus on getting android to the tp. As I see it this, android dump, is touchdrods way of saing: We [mod edit] up, and we are sorry. I also understand that they are stopping the project. Whats the point of tinkering with the Touchdroid build when the team has disbanded. I would stay away from this build since the CyanogenMod seems to be way ahead of the Touchdroid team anyways.

issent the point, that other teams can see touchdrods build, and use what they can from it. Like small twinks and stuff like that.

As long as the kernel can boot the phone we can use it as a starting point, right? Also 3rd party ROM can use stock kernel extracted from MIUI.

Devs have lives too, and this is just the thing they do in their free time, so they work at their own pace. Not every devs want to report everything, nor do they have to.
Things will get released when they are ready. Rushing the devs will just increase the chance that they will abandon everything.

no you didn't understand I know that developing it takes time I am the developer of the craftdium.ml software if you know and I know very well that it takes time I wanted to know if I am making the custom rom my phone risks what?
Personally, I don't like MIUI, nor MIUI based Roms: eu, ROS, mix, etc.
I think it's worth to wait a while, even one month, for install a decent AOSP based ROM on this brilliant hardware. I made that on my Mi Max 3 and I am very happy now with the phone.

I just came here to say that my poco just arrived to my home and I am patiently waiting for some AOSP rom
