Welcome guys, lately I've been fascinated by the all new Material Design Google had introduced to us at the 2014 IO.
So I decided to do something different this time instead of creating a theme, instead I rebuilt, fixed and redesigned No Frills CPU.
Huge thanks to the developer of No Frills CPU Classic, you can view the applications source code here - Github.
The application contains under the hood features which aren't yet enabled, stay tuned for the next release. It'll be enabled.
So give the all new and redesigned No Frills CPU. CPU Control.
PLEASE NOTE : ROOT IS REQUIRED!!!

Yeah great looking app! Can't wait for the new features! Also with a dark theme like regular app?

@RoyJ Could you explain how the dark theme would he like? Material Dark or Holo Dark.

I guess material just dark. I'm not sure of the guidelines or anything, but I could make a mockup in paint or something when I get home.

I'm not sure but the app feels a little disoriented for my screen
I don't know why
Notice the free open space below and above
And the three dot menu cannot be accessed

Actually, I found a Material app with a dark theme. Kind of like this I guess. Just dark where the white is.

[Theme] Pays-DeFrost Theme v6.0i (updated++)

I got a lot of requests to port my icon collection and app themes to DeFrost.
So here it is
I tested it with DeFrost v6.0i and its working fine.
I guess it is working with other cyanogen based ROMs, too or at least it is simple to port it to them.
What you get:
-Black look with nice icons
-Nice dialer
-Ad blocking
-Some sounds + ringtones
Get started:
1.) You need DeFrost v6.0i on your device (maybe future versions are supported, too).
2.) Just flash this theme in recovery mode, like flashing a rom and reboot.
3.) In the settings go to the CyanogenMod options and load the PaysDefrost.xml settings.
4.) Reboot - enjoy!
Changelog/History
Changes in v6.0i:
Code:
-v6.0i ready
Changes in v6.0d:
Code:
-v6.0d ready
-Added ad blocking
Changes in v6.0:
Code:
-v6.0 ready
-There were some changes in the DeFrost framework
-Workaround for browser buttons

Thanks, love the dark theme.
But as with blufrost, I think the blue circle battery would round it off to a tee, maybe with it just turning red in the last 30%.
Thanks for the work, loved sparta before.

I need Pays-DeFrost Theme v5.7 =(
Amazing theme! Only one I liked except the Sense's one , just one "issue" the address bar on the browser isn't black until we tap on it to type in an address. The icons(Bookmark or cancel), however, are black and hence it really doesn't flow with the look. And the lines upon selection or the progress bar are also orange. This is the only "problem" I'm facing but apart from this its beautiful.
Oh and a v5.7 version would be awesome!
nice work!...love the colour!
doesnt it work on 5.7???
Wow, so many repeat users ;-)
Hi payes, I have run your theme for 24 hrs, and I can say it was the best thing I've done in a while.
My launcher pro, is now sharp and crisp, where it wasn't before on defrost since it went through the havs bsod faze.
I also had amazing battery life, once I had used setcpu for: screen off 245 mhz max 245 mhz min, with powersave governor.
I know your.zip is a theme, not a rom, but it has really turned my phone around.
I am now also another keen flasher, looking forward to 5.7.
Ps you are aware that richard produces an update at least 1-2 times a week.
Thanks for your hard work.

This is no problem. This version should work with 5.7, too but I will test it.
If richard writes something about changes in the framework or contacts app I will release a new version or of course if it does not work
I also will check that with the browser bar!
/Edit:
I have to update it.. it seems there where changes in the mentioned files
I will do that tomorrow evening.

So how's the experience with theme.
hmm 14 Downloads and still no comments . Strange
So I'm gonna be the first to report back
Alright, first of all I really appreciate your work and the theme looks lovely! But after using it for one day I have to say, that the transitions are overdone (!) :/
For example, when I click on a tweet in tweetdeck, the timeline fades out and the tweet comes in, which sort of is pretty cool, but if you do that pretty often, you (at least I did) get annoyed from always having to refocus my eye on the text, because it completely disappears for a second.
Anyway, I've cooked my own theme with UOT now, which I'm not that satisfied with to be honest, I would probably use your theme, if there was a version without the transitions
Keep it up!

Brilliant stuff. Love it.
P.s, think the transitions are not overdone at all. Using it all day, and I think it's great.
I love the look of the theme you have done and downloaded it and applied immediately using the Oxygen Updater. However it causes either boot loops at the lock screen or lots of app fc warning messages (lots) as soon as you get passed the lock screen.
Not a complaint, far from it - it looks fantastic.
I am running the resolution at 180 if that has any bearing on my issues with it?
Keep up the good work!
Well I'm not sure about the reason of boot loop mate but I'm using it on the same resolution u r using and no f c. I would recommend it on a clean install before any other application is installed as it has modified services.jar

Theme updated for Oxygen 2.0 RC1

[THEME] Better Gingerbread (Oxygen 2.1.3|Redux 1.2)

Here are the tweaks I'm currently running on my Oxygen 2.1.1 ROM by AdamG. I've began a port of this to ihlades' Redux 1.2 ROM. These are purely visual modifications, but one's which improve the cohesiveness of the refresh Google did to the UI.
I have put together 4 flavours, one with a minimal notification layout based on Rori's work, with my own touches, and one with the traditional layout, these are also available with JazzK's PureOxygen battery mod.
What you get
Minimal notification layout (optional)
Smooth sync animations
Smooth charge and discharge
Battery percentage option (GB battery with number in middle)
Gingerbread style notification icons
Transparent notification shade background
Green notification overflow underlay
Green progress bars
Rectangular pop-up borders
Smooth spinners
Transparency to spinners (no more white-to-grey gradient)
Custom lock-screen background (my previous implementation - change \system\framework\framework-res.apk\drawable-hdpi\lockscreen_bg.png before flashing, or with Ninjamorph)

Instructions
**NB - I have not tested these with the Oxygen HBOOT, I have been using CM HBOOT**
Download from Blog
Copy to SD Card
Flash in recovery, or ROM Manager
If you change the lockscreen background before flashing, be sure to disable signature verification.
Restart phone
Enable "Status bar power widget" in Oxygen Settings (without this the minimal layout looks silly)
Choose desired battery in Oxygen Settings
If you have any issues or would like a modification done, feel free to post below. I can't guarantee anything though.
Thank you. These tweaks are awesome.
Thanks a lot Gas!
Already posted on your blog and twitter. But mentioned, that you changed battery font. IMO this one looked better http://themedroid.com/2010/12/smooth-gingerbread/. It was more readable.

Yeah I might have to include some morphs to change the battery. I have a horizontal gingerbread version (currently unreleased), but I think JazzK's is probably the most readable.
I actually find this font more readable than the previous. Not sure why.

The difference between the two is in the screenshots, the first is minimal, the second is standard. With minimal there is no carrier id and the ' clear' button is in line with the notification title.

Problems!
Hello.
First off, greaaat theme!
However, I have a couple of minor problems with this.
1) The name of the cellular network currently connected doesn't appear for me at all. It is not like the picture shown.
2) The clear button - it is not aligned to where your screenshot shows. My one is lower and unaligned with the row.
However I do have to say that I have changed the default fonts to the Ubuntu fonts. Would that be the reason? Given that the size of the clear button matches exactly with the screenshot, just the position doesn't!
Thanks again!

I haven't tried it with different fonts, that does make sense though. I'll try and look into it. This mod was pushing my limits of xml editing so not sure how it will go.
If you are using the minimal mod the carrier is not shown at all. I figured I didn't really need it as it is present on the lockscreen anyway. If you need to see the carrier ID then the traditional layout is for you

[APP] Screen brightness filter

Hi guys.
Since the update to 4.4, which introduced the transparent nav buttons background + status bar, most screen filter (brightness overlay) applications on the market have problem of covering the bottom transparent navigation buttons.
If you have a Nexus 4, Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 with 4.4 and stock launcher or new Nova beta launcher, turn on the filter make them look like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
So I made my own overlay filter app to fix the bottom nav bar not being covered.
Download: Play Store: Brightness Filter
KNOWN ISSUE: All overlay filter interfere with manual apk installation via a File Manager. The work around is to disable brightness filter when you need to install an apk using a File Manager.
Changelogs:
v2.2 2014-02-07
- new application icon
v2.1 2013-12-11
-change notification icon to Android Kitkat style
v2 2013-11-26
- added opacity control when the app is launched.
- fix bug that sometimes the filter is restarted by Android system.
- remove support for older versions of Android (now support 4.1 and up) --> app is now much smaller in size
v1 2013-11-23
- initial release
Enjoy. If this helps you, rate my app 5 stars .
Tell me if you have any problem.

Works great as intended here. Cataclysm + Trinity.

Nice work! Left a 5 star review in the Play Store for you
Hi guys.
You asked for opacity control, now you have it.
The app is updated to have opacity slider control + I fixed a bug that caused the filter to restart.
The app is being processed in the Play Store, wait a few hours and it will be up.
For anyone who wants 50% flat screen filter without the opacity control, tell me and I will post the old version up.
Enjoy.
Would it be possible to edit the notification icon setting to low priority and transparent so that we don't have to see it 24/7.

Thank you very much! Very kind of you! And yes the 5 star rating is well deserved!!!
Would be great if we were able to pause it from the notification bar, so we can pause it for a screenshot and easily turn it back on, instead of opening the app drawer again.
Can you make a Tasker plugin for this.

Nice theme, the status bar battery icon is weird unless the percentage is shown inside.

Here are some elements waiting to be themed. In gallery I mean the blue stripes that appear by selecting. The share menu should be dark as well as the permissions menu. Please, consider fixing these issues.

Sorry, my powers have the limits Some blue elements exist because i don't know how to change it. Some elements, like app permissions, are not fully themed, because they're separate apps that i am not able to theme.

Anyways you are our superhero, who saves us from those tasteless Huawei designers. I hope that we could some day just change to an aosp-based rom and leave EMUI forever.
