Vogue vs. Touch - Touch CDMA General

Im new to the touch. I have a touch in The USA on Altell. Why do we have 2 seperate forums? Whats the difference betwen the vogue and the touch?

The Vogue is the CDMA touch. The ELF is the older GSM touch

Yep beat me to it.

I was thinking that maybe that was the case. The google search I did on the subject gave prelaunch info with speculations and mixed details. So Ive been posting in the wrong forum. I suppose both will have needed info. Thanks again.

Iolite not so popular?

I noticed that the forums for Touch Diamond 2 and Touch Pro 2 have more activity. Does it somewhat mean that Touch Cruise 2 is some kind of underdog? Or has it to do with the release time? Since Touch Diamond is gonna be release shortly after Touch Cruise 2, so people would rather wait a while?
I've also got a rather noobish question...
In Singapore, it's called Touch Cruise 2, where does the name Iolite come from? If it came from the manufacturers, then why don't retailers use the name Iolite instead of Touch Cruise 2?
Just curious, regards and thanks!

Iolite is not a model that stands on top of the line, so it doesn't seem to be in the spotlight as Diamond2 or Pro2.
On top of that there is no hardSPL for Iolite yet, so you are able to cook ROMs. But no one can flash it.
So maybe when hardSPL is available there will be much more activity in this part of the forum.

Don't know the exact reson, but HTC has always had codenames for their phones. Names you don't see in the stores.
Touch HD - Blackstone
Touch Cruise - Polaris
SE Xperia X1 - Kovksy
Maybe because in the beginning HTC didn't release phones, just made them for retailers who released them by the name they gave the phones.
MDA Vario 3 etc.

..... so you are able to cook ROMs with udK's kitchen for Iolite. But no one can flash it.

Sorry, my mistake. No kitchen from udK available yet.
But you can always create your own kitchen using ervius' visual kitchen and the WWE stock ROM posted by udK.

I have two HTCs and one of them is d2 and it was damaged badly. I opened the phone and saw that the main chip (processor) is cracked is it possible to order a new chip somewhere or the main-board with everything. I have no problems with re-soldering microchips
What are your recommendations guys?

Htc HD2 T-mobile - 3G Connectivity Question ?

Hi, so i have a unlocked htc hd2 from t-mobile.
First question is since im a newbie, does that 3G capability is software or hardware based ?
Second if its software based does anyone know if there is a software that'll enable hd2 to work on Rogers 3G bands?
thanks a lot in advance

I'm guessing you mean from T-Mobile US. You should probably check the forum specifically for the US T-Mobile HD2 and ask these questions there.
For your information they have removed the section for TMOUS HD2's and merged back in with the regular section. As to try and answer the OP's question, I personally use Energy ROM's because I like the latest build of 6.5.X and allot of Eye Candy however everyones taste is different. The best bet would be to try allot of ROM's out and see what one fits your taste. (just make sure it is compatible with TMOUS)

I think he is talking about general GSM phones (keep in mind that some of the Android builds like myn's, would work for the Kaiser and the Polaris, which are GSM devices).
You are correct about the Elf/Elfin being a GSM version of the Vogue though.

Dual Sim on Vogue/Polaris compatible with Android

Hey,
i want to use a different provider for phone and internet.
There are dual-clips for Kaiser on wimobile, but im note sure if this is system dependent.
Is it even possible to use 3g and phone at different sim-cards at the same time? Or do i have to switch to the 3g data-sim for internet and then the phone isnt working the whole time the connection stands?
Thx

if you manage to get a vogue to work off a SIM let alone 2 your a braver man than me
AH damn..
The Vogue doesnt support sim cards? Its this cdma thing?
Sorry but its not usual here (germany) so i wasnt thinking about this, because of the similarities polaris <-> Vogue.
Was posting here, because Polaris forum seems not very active...
Hmm.. where´s a good place to ask this?

yea vogue is the CDMA (and arguably better) version of the Elf, so yea no sims on cdma atleast not in the USA
