TV box Vontar X3 32GB version. Unofficial rom. After a few months of use, AndroidTV 9 system shows me a message about lack of space. Free space is about 25GB. I deleted via recovery TWRP cache and Dalvik cache. It goes to install and uninstall, memory is fine. How to fix it. Factory reset only at the end. Thank you
Problem solved. The report of lack of space was from a Philips TV with AndroidTV to which the box is connected.

My Defy is once again throwing "Low on space, phone storage is getting low" error messages. When I view the list of all applications and their storage usage, the bottom of the screen displays 1.26GB used, 5.1MB free. However, if I scroll down the list and add up all of the storage being reported by the system for each app, the total is only about 191MB (I don't have a lot of apps). So, is there some type of internal storage memory leak somewhere?
I've been happily running a nightly CM7.2 build from April, and I haven't installed a new app in months. The last time this error happened, I eventually had to do a factory restore and reinstall everything to fix the internal storage limit. And after restoring all my apps and settings, the total internal storage used by the new build was less than 200MB.
Anyway, I'm throwing this out there for suggestions prior to rebuilding everything, again. I already tried wiping caches and updating to the lastest 7.2 nightly, but I'm still getting the error.
I ended up doing a factory reset and reinstallling apps from backup, but would still welcome suggestions for the next time this happens. I wasn't able to try SDMaid, because even after freeing up 130MB of internal storage, the installation would fail with an insufficient storage error . However, I did install SDMaid on the new build, so now I'm ready.
Something is not right:
I have used up 2.99GB for apps + movies, just 3.5MB for pictures, 20KB anf 64MB for Downloads - and yet I only have just 900MB storage space remaining???
Where are the approx. 10 other GB I should have available as storage space... Any idead/suggestions, anyone ??

Did it show that you had 13.x GB free when you first got it? I've read of a few instances where the other people who had this problem had to do something like a factory reset before it properly allocated the free space.
Give it a factory reset/wipe, I was missing some 3GB out of nowhere that I could see.
Thanks, guys... I'll give that a try!

Dumb me...
Apparently, Clockworkmod backups do not show in the JB Settings>Storage view.
Found out about my "rather excessive backup habit" after downloading the excellent "DiskUsage" app from the Play Store... Deleted some of my backups and did a "Factory Reset" via Settings menu.
Et voilĂ , 10+ GB available again...
Thanks androidarmin,
I was having a hard time figuring out why I couldnt get rid of the 13GB of data that was on my tab.
I tried the factory reset and clearing cache and all that....but all of the old data was still on there.....games and apps.
I wanted to start fresh!
DiskUsage worked awesomely!

I too had this problem and tried factory reset but to no avail. I suspect the only way is to wipe everything from recovery (i.e. including internal storage)
Dears,
I just bought my S5, suddently unpgraded to Lollipop.
Briefly, I can install 50% of the apps I had before, it's going out of storage.
I did a full wipe after upgrade, so there's no wasted space in the storage.
I couldn't find a partitions scheme, some I'm here to ask if this numbers are normal:
There's a lot of data in the cache, I need to frequently wipe it.
But overall, tapping used space I see in detail 7.5GB of applications, while going to application manager and summing all applications' size I arrive to 3.4GB only: it seems there's 4GB lost somewhere:
Anybody noticed the same?
Where can I check partition sizes for the S5?
Thanks everybody and best regards.
Factory reset after upgrading to Lollipop, KK leaves rubbish files behind and cause more problems than just lack of storage
Also remember now with LP, it uses ART instead of DALVIK, which means app sizes will be bigger
Well, I've been doing it, same problem after several days.
Also, I actually have 350MB of cache, 800MB free, but of I don't clear the cache I can install nothing, Play returns not enough free space...
Possible it partitioned 4GB for "private mode" I forgot to disable it when I rooted and now everything is showing I only have 12GB and trying to find out how to recover that partition and add it back to the internal storage partition currently. Try turning "private mode" on and see if your storage page shows a chunk of space used for that
Hello I have the Nexus 4 16GB, I am currently running the latest version of the great Euphoria ROM.
The problem I am having is that I have very little free space left. After clean flashing (multiple times) the Euphoria ROM, I am left with about 3.4 GB of free space. After using the Disk Analyzer to see what is taking up so much space, I find that "system data" takes up about 7GB.
Is all this normal? Can someone recommend what I can do to free up more space if possible? I really don't want to have to buy another phone.

I would suggest installing Titanium Backup if you have not already. From the main screen, there is a section that says: "System ROM" and has the size and Free Space and Internal+Media with that size and free space as well. If you press it, it will pull up a break down of the App size, Data Size, and Cache Size of every installed app. You can then just click any offenders with huge Data or Cache sizes, and wipe them. I know Download Manager tends to store a lot of data which you can clear, as does Chrome, and Facebook.
Thank you, I used Titanium backup and was able to free up a significant amount of space. But it still seems like all my apps and media files don't add up to so much space. When I run the Disk Usage app (downloadable from the play store), it still says that "system data" takes up about 7GB while my apps and media together take up about 3GB, and I have another 3GB of free space remaining.
I tried clearing the davlik and cache (using TWRP) and still the "system data" takes up 7GB. I really wonder if that is right. I'm wondering if I should save all my data externally and do a complete wipe (format data in twrp?) and reinstall the ROM, but I am nervous to brick my phone, I have never done the "format data" option in TWRP before.
Hi, after saving my important files externally, I decided to flash back to stock lollipop. Then I flashed Euphoria rom and load back my apps and files. It appears to have solved the issue. The "system data" is now a much smaller size and I have nearly 7 GB of free space, and that is after adding much more media files to the device. Not sure what caused the original problem, but now it appears to be fixed and has saved me over $200 in buying a new phone with more disk space.

Sweet, glad you were able to get it sorted.
I am new to the world of tech and have a (what I believe anyway) is a massive issue with my S7 Edge. I successfully rooted the phone and then for some unknown reason I used TWRP to change the file system on Internal Storage to Fat32 or Fat. Cannot say for sure. Apologies. Now, I have a phone which suggests that I am using 31GB of the 32GB on the phone yet I know that when I use TWRP to look at the size DATA only has 4GB of which there is 141MB free? The other 28GB is there but is inaccessible. I had all my photos and videos on there and they have all disappeared. One thing to note is that when I changed the file system of Internal Storage it factory reset the phone but did show me that it was 25GB space wise so I lost everything but it was trying to restore from a backup which just failed as there was not enough space I think although I did not get an error. I am unable to (proper) factory reset the phone due to multiple mount issues and also because I think it has something to do with not being able to write to the correct partitions. I am using TWRP 3.0.0-0. I go to Wipe/Advanced Wipe/ select Internal Storage, then Repair or Change File System and get the Invalid Partition Selection in red. The same happens when I select Dalvik / ART Cache. I have the latest version of ODIN. I literally have ran out of ideas and have invested in a 128GB SD Card which I will use for mass storage by using adb shell. I am hopeful there is an answer.
