I got a question. The audio drops out what I shift into reverse and restarts after shifting out of reverse. Is there a way to stop that??
Check the 'more settings' under 'reverse' - there is a mute AFAIK. It's a feature, not a bug
Thanks, I did find it in the other setting tab
I have the same problem. Unit restarts when rear gear is disengaged. Is there any solution of that?

Hi, i do not have any problem with the hissing sound. In fact, this have now gone! I now have uninterrupted, clear sounds coming from my stereo bluetooth device.
Does your bluetooth device allow you to enjoy the SRS sound quality?
When i switch on the camera, there is a clicking sound. i swap to a new phone but the system persists. does anybody have the same problem?

Does anybody have this problem? sorta like a clicking sound when the camera is turned on.
I guess it's the macro-focus?
actually i went to O2 and they say its normal and all Atom Life has the same problem. Try placing the phone next to your ear while the camera is switched on, you should all hear a soft clicking sound.
No clicking sound on my side. I have another fu..ing issue. The camera opens in macro mode (also with the indicator OFF position) and remains always unfocused. Take a normal picture it's not possible!
I e-mailed O2 and they said me to hard reset the device (what a customer support )
It made me hungry but i cannot stop laughing buuaaahahahaha
Anybody had the same issue?
Any solutions?
Hi there XDA!
I've been searching and searching to try to find a fix for these issues, without luck. So in my desperation i turn to you.
First issue:
When I call or receive a call, I can hear my own voice and my own sounds without any issues. However - the person calling or being called can't hear anything from my end.
Microphone loops back to front-speaker?
SOLVED!
No idea how the issue was solved, but somehow it now works as per usual
Second issue:
Back speaker doesn't work. Considering headset and bluetooth headset works, I've been thinking that considering its a mechanical function that registers if a headset is plugged in, this is stuck.
Could it be any other issues?

Sounds to me like you need to send it back for repair
For some reason the "loopback"-issue sorted itself out. No idea what I actually did, but somehow it now works

Yup, been thinking about it. Just wanted to see if anyone else have had similar back/loud-speaker issues.
I have the same problem with my omnia 7. About two days ago, I completely lost the ring, alarm, message, game sounds. If I plug in a headset, the sounds are there.
And just today I experienced the microphone loopback issue the first time. I turn of the phone, remove the battery for a minute, insert it back and turn on the phone. The loopback issue was gone. May be it would have gone by itself if I waited but I was pissed of because the phone already lost all other sounds.
I was in and out of meetings and plane flights the day before I recognize the sounds are lost. So I switched the airplane mode on and of couple times, and switch between ring and vibrate numerous times. I wonder if that could have triggerred this problem.
I wonder if a hard reset or poking the headphone slot could resolve this problem.
So i have no solution yet, and hope someone will come up with a solution.
Thanks
Problem Solved
I was playing with some diagnostic codes from a website I found on the internet, I noticed there is a "Melody Test\Test External and Internal Speaker" which you can access by typing *#0289# while inside the diagnostic mode. While inside this melody test application I pressed the option 1. Speaker [L-R] ON and option 2. Receiver ON. I dont know which option did it but suddenly a ring tone started coming from the speaker.
I closed the diagnostic app and return to the main menu and now my ringtones, game sounds start working. Hopefully this will be a real solution not a temporary one.
Note:if it not listed in the app list, to get in to the diagnostic mode press ##634# from the phone pad.
Also note: I tried to post the link of the page which contains all the diagnostic codes of omnia but the xda forum would not allow me to post a link outside because I am a new user. The page i found was on wp7forum website

Good suggestion! Although, from what I can hear, that re-routes all music and such to the front speaker ("ear piece")?
I guess you are right. And also after a soft reset the sounds are gone again. Bummer

Update! Now it is working
Hi all,
For the last couple of days I have been searching and reading eveything I could find. And today I messed around with the sound diagnostics tool, plugged in and out a headphone jack probably hundred times but nothing worked. So I gave up. But i forgat to turn off the Music that was playing on the background while i was messing with the phone so that if it started working i would know.
My phone was in my pants pocket, and while i was hanging my pants, the phone slipped and fell on the carpet. And suddenly a loud music started playing. The music i set to play before. And now everything is working fine, all sounds. Even after soft reset.
So maybe it was the stuck headphone slot after all, i dont know.
But now i am afraid the sounds will go again if i drop it again.
Had the same problem... wife said no ringtone. Due to the poor positioning of the power button and volume rocker on opposite sides of the phone, she had gradually turned the volume down, one point by one.
Think simple faults first!

I really wish my problem was that simple. There is something wrong with my back speaker. Some loose connection I guess.
Every now and then I realize the ring tones (and other sounds) are not working. And when I tap around where the back speaker is (back of the phone, top right) strongly with my fingertip several times, the sound is back again. Everyday I have this loop at least 10 times.
Hey all
I had a look and couldn't find this issue described
The problem occurs when listening to music (Google play) with wired headphones.
Sometimes the volume sounds low, and when the phone is unlocked it jumps up.
This also sometimes happens just by swiping down from the top, if the phone is already unlocked.
I suppose some action brings the volume down but it's harder to tell when that happens, compared to the jump up in volume.
I thought it might be the AudioFX so disabled that, had no effect.
As far as I can tell it doesn't seem to happen when using Bluetooth audio.
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks!
Uri
I had this problem but i solved it
Setting-> Lock Screen-> disable display music visualizer
also keep disabled AudioFX and clear data of it

Nice one, thanks - will give it a try!
Tried the fixes but still the same issue. Pulling down the notification bar at the top raises the volume. Really odd and annoying!
I'll keep hacking on it.
Uri
Hmm. Still getting this.
Really annoying, and I can't seem to find an android / google play bug on it, although I have tried various (quite long) search strings.
Are there any other Zuk Z1 users out there who could test this please? Would be interesting to see if anyone else is having these problems after going through the steps that worked for Ashay.
Thanks!
Uri
yeah..I am also facing the same problem with the volume in Lenovo Zuk Z1
Please help me with solving this issue.
volume goes down

I m also experience same problem. When I disable display music virtualization my volume seems to remain down and not increase even on device unlock. If anyone could solve my problem then it would be a great help.
I am also getting same issue. same works for other apps too like soptify and soundcloud. volume jumps when notification panel is pulled or while unlocking device.
This is happening to me too, anybody knows how to fix this?
Hi guys, I had the same problem and I find it.
360 upmix feature is, you can switch it off or if you want to keep it on like me, then select you preferred method away from "auto".
Is it because for example on YouTube when it is unlocked it is cinema mode, but if you lock it you don't looking at it so goes to music mode, that's why switching back and forth.
I prefer cinema as a little more bass on it.
Have a nice day guys!
Edit: My phone is an Xperia 1 III.
Hey guys, I have a bit of a weird one. We have 2 x720 in our home, and one of them is now suddenly unable to use the built-in mic when calling. I have done the following steps to narrow it down:
Checked the permissions - everything relevant has both microphone and calling permissions.
Used a Whatsapp call - no sound.
Used a Whatsapp recorded message - there is sound (microphone is working).
Made a call using a headset - there is sound.
Switched the SIM cards between the phones - the problem persists with the original phone.
Reflashed LOS16, and then AICP14 - problem persists.
I even went by a rather bad YouTube tutorial and turned off Google Assistant, but to no avail.
So I'm a bit clueless here - can someone give me any insight as to what's going on? Or, more importantly, how to just fix it?
Did you try handsfree button in normal phone call to see if mic works?
I am guessing now, but I think there are 2 microphones, one on the bottom and one on top of the phone.
Try with "Hardware test" by Da2da2 from play store.
You may have a hardware issue.

I didn't try handsfree button. Hardware test confirms both mics work.

Still, you reset the phone and tried two different ROMs and still it did not work, there is no other possibility than hardware damage.
Unless you somehow manage to mute yourself when you make whatsapp calls only
Try a normal call with and without handsfree. Should be easy enough...
Problem solved. Flashed Cuoco92's 5.9.028S_VR4, and then factory reset and reflashed everything else (20s, LineageOS, GApps). Problem was lower level than just the ROM, but the hardware wasn't faulty.
So here's my situation. I have an unbranded android headunit (might be SPRD?) that works great for android auto until I get a phone call.
When someone calls me, android auto shows the answer/hang up buttons like normal. But the headunit also pops up its dialer software and ringtone over the top.
I'm hoping someone has had this experience and has a fix cause it's annoying as hell. I'm open to any suggestions. I cab get into the detailed settings menus and what not with code 16176699 which seems to be pretty standard.
Crossing my fingers on this one.

So just to update this in case anyone else is having this issue. I was able to go into the headunit factory settings and found that if you uncheck BT, it will remove the headunit phone app completely which in my case solved the issue.
So far it doesn't seem to affect any other functionality as far as Android Auto is concerned.
Hope it helps someone.
