Hey guys/gals, I purchased this unit https://www.joyingauto.com/newest-9...ivic-2016-2017-with-carplay-android-auto.html
and I have two remaining issues:
1) I would like to map the physical "button" of the radio to another app like Spotify, any way to do so?
2) Sometimes the skip song from my steering wheel it skips backwards, sometimes forwards, sometimes it starts the song again.
Any ideas?

Hi, your possible answers are:
1 - mapping is done by pressing on icon that you want to change - press and hold icon and when new menu apears choose one of the apps available to replace that app
2 - skiping songs - map steering wheel controls via factory settings (accessed via pin code) if can be mapped at all

For number 1, do I have to be on a specific screen?
Yes for number 1 on main desktop when all icons are (take a picture of main desktop and post it here).
If no prevail , use some other launchers from Google play store like NOVA LAUNCHER

This app was developed to enhance the experience on the Pumpkin Head unit:
Pumpkin 7" 1024*600 Touchscreen Android 4.4 Quad Core 1.6GHz DSP Car Stereo with RAM:2GB (RQ0270)
Currently, the unit offers the possibility to switch between system apps only. AppShifter provides an alternate way to extend this functionality to include favorite apps (Current maximum is 9). PowerAmp (if installed) control is also added as an extra option.
Once AppShifter is installed,
user will need to repeat the next steps to enable it:
a. Goto the Car Settings app.
b. Select as Navigator App the AppShifter.
c. Goto the Steering Wheel controls under the same Car Settings app.
d. Assign the Navigator App to a steering wheel button.
e. Save the settings and exit.
Next user will need to setup the favorite apps through a simple screen by repeating the next steps:
a. Pressing the assigned steering wheel button will bring up AppShifter. Its possible also to run AppShifter from the Launcher.
b. Long press on the icon that will be shown, will launch the Setup screen. Sliding down on the icon will terminate AppShifter.
c. Using the Setup screen, user can locate the apps to be able to shift through and:
c.1 Assign to them a number. This number will be the sequence in which they will be shifted. Same sequence number may be given but after saving, AppShifter will resort them and assign unique numbers. An app can be unassigned by setting the number to '-'.
c.2 If PowerAmp is installed then the option to allow PowerAmp to play at the background when the specific app is shown, is available. By default, AppShifter will pause PowerAmp when in background.
c.3 Any changes made will be saved only after pressing the Save button.
c.4 Exit button will reload the AppShifter and start using the apps set.
After the setup is completed, AppShifter will:
a. Shift between apps when the relevant steering wheel button is pressed. Same functionality is available when touching the screen.
b. The app shown on screen will be launched in 2 seconds unless it is shifted to a new app. PowerApp will be controlled accordingly (if installed).
c. Sliding down on the screen within 2 seconds, will cancel the launch of the app.
Limitations:
- I have only tested it on this head unit which is running Android 4.4, but it should work on other units.
Permissions:
- Draw over other apps. This is required to be able to switch between apps.
Google Play Link:

And a link for the app?

Just installed a Joying JY-ULS01N2 in my Jeep. Loving it so far, even though it's only been in a day. I just got the steering wheel controls hooked up and was wondering if there's some way to map a steering wheel button to an app. Specifically, I'd love it if I could open Google voice search without having to use the touch screen.
I know there is not button map option for an app, but maybe someone has used Tasker or some other app to do this?
Related question re: the "Source" button mapping. This appears to only toggle through the Joying-installed source apps (radio, BT, phone, aux, video). Can these apps be changed? I'd love to be able to toggle through Spotify, SiriusXM, PowerAmp, etc., since those are my go-to media apps.
Welp, I just checked to see if there were any replies and instead saw this post directly below mine: https://forum.xda-developers.com/an...-units/joying-2gb-steering-wheel-key-t3543390. Think I'll give gustden's script a try and see what happens.
1. Main functions:
- More funtions on in one buttons (click, long press, double click, double click + long press....)
- Get up to 16 buttons on the steering wheel;
- Each button allows assigning from 3 functions (no root) to 6 functions (the root has already started): the functions can be done like: next post, back post, increase the volume, open the application (open navigation app, watching movies, listening to music, voice control ... etc); These functions are assigned by click method: for example: click, longpress , double click , double click and hold, trible click , press 3 times and hold the button)
- Do not interfere with the car's electrical system as well as the android head, insert the original KEY1 and Key GND of the car into the circuit and run.
- Need to incorporate Remap Button software on CH Play with this circuit to assign function buttons.
Imagine when you are driving, you want to show the navigation screen press a button, while somewhere want to go home - press a button, while navigating the screen to view the video - press a button. .. all on the steering wheel convenient and handy.
For example, I assign a button on my KIA K3/Cerato 2014:
+ Mode button:
- Press a play -> home screen;
- hold down -> call OK google get command;
- Double -> open Navitel;
- Double click hold button -> Open Google Map;
- Press 3 times -> immediately start Navitel and navigate to the office wherever you are, it automatically select the destination and activate the navigation mode, not to add anything;
- Press 3 to play and hold the button -> immediately activate Navitel and lead to the house, not any more moves. So when you're driving, you can use this button to switch back and forth between all the applications assigned above without looking at the screen.
+ Mute button:
- Press a key -> Mute / Unmute;
- Pressure Hold -> Play / Pause;
- Double click on PowerAMP;
- Double click and holds -> open Mxplayer;
-Tri-click -> Open Youtube;
-Tri-click and hold -> Open VTV GO watch TV;
+ Call button:
-Click -> Listen to the incoming call;
-Hold -> Turn 3G network sharing mode off to Wifi (wifi hospot);
-Double Click -> open the tire pressure warning software;
So with 3 buttons, I do not need anything more. The rest of the button assigns it to its proper function.
Great solution
This is cool. And coincidentally I'm wanting to do it on same car and stereo. Similar to joycon exr but that is expensive +$50 usd. This solution is better than others and I think is more universal. Will try soon. Any recommendations for Arduino type?
Making Joying Android 8.1 usable? Need universal volume widget & play/pause widget!
Hi,
I just picked up a Joying Android 8.1 head unit (JY-UOS02N4GS). I'm rather new to Android head units and am running into a couple issues...
The volume control buttons on the unit's trim sucks (doesn't respond well to button pushes) and I've been trying to find some kind of Volume slider widget I can add to my home screen.
Also, I need some way to universally play/pause regardless of what app is playing music. "Ubiquity Music Widget" was the best I could find, but sometimes the widget doesn't refresh on my home screen and I have to remove it and re-add it to get it to work again.
Anyone have some tips on a volume slider widget and a universal play/pause button widget?
BTW, I'm using Nova launcher.

Just buy a USB volume knob for Android.
A physical knob. Then attach the knob to one of the blank/dummy panels on your dashboard.
I bought this one a couple years ago: "Fusion Control USB Powered and Controlled Rotary Volume Knob" and it works great.
Plug it into your stereo's USB port and it should be picked right up.
I have steering wheel mode button running through the CANbus of a car. When i hit the mode button, an app if started will take focus, or if not already running, will load. Press the mode button again and the new app in the pre-defined series opens.
I would like to modify the list of apps that can be started with the Mode switch. Does anyone have info how to achieve this? My unit is a UIS7862 Android 10.
try this:
[FYT units] FytHWOneKey: non-rooted app to assign other apps to the unit hardware buttons

Hi, thank you for the link. Are you suggesting I remap the mode button?
The remap app does not work for any of my steering wheel buttons or switches. Apparently the apps only remap buttons that aren't wired via the CANbus.
Have you found this not to be the case or have I missed something?

if you can't map the mode button to action in the base SWC app then it probably won't work for you. Been talking with someone else who had a Mode button and it was working at least somewhat.
What I am looking for is the file that holds the list of apps cycled through when pressing the mode button.
I would also like to know how to modify the list if it is not just straight text or XML format list.
If you car is like mine there is a built in Steering wheel mapping application, each mode is mapped to either something like volume, or to an action like "Radio", if you map each of your mode clicks to an action "Radio, Video,BT..." then it will cycle those, if you then use the app I linked you can then override each of thise actions to run any app you want.
I have mentioned that due to a CANbus, I can't map buttons.
If your system has a CANbus, kindly advise how you got the map to work. And please name the app you have loaded to allow that.
That would be an option, too:
Use SWC to switch between Navi and Radio
Attached app FlowStarter.apk allows to start an Automate flow (https://llamalab.com/automate/) which has to be defined in file flowstarter.cfg Required steps: 1. Install the apk. 2. Extract the file flowstarter.cfg to the internal storage (root...
forum.xda-developers.com
You could change the Automate flow to cycling without problems.
If he can't remap the mode button to the flowstarter app then I"m not sure this will work for him either. Worth a shot though.
If the apps it launches are really hardcoded in the system and you can't adjust any of it in the built in SWC application, then the only other option I can think of is if you tell me the package names of the apps it runs I can try to make a version of the fyt key mapper for yours, but no promises it will work, if the launch intents are directed directly at the built in apps then you're kind of stuck without root.
Hi! how are you! I am having the same problem: cant remap the steering wheel buttons; the left-middle one opens the radio and the right-middle one switches between many apps.
The learning app that comes in android is not working either, in fact, when I try to remap those buttons, it instantly changes to the other apps.
Have you found a solution?
