Has anyone with a Galaxy Gear smartwatch been able to figure out a way to activate utter! using the Gear, without touching the phone? Once utter! gets activated on my Note 3, then the speaker and mic get transferred to my Gear, which is great and what one would want. If I could now activate it using the Gear itself, that would be super sweet as I wouldn't even have to touch the phone to send emails.
I tried sideloading the utter! quicklaunch icon onto the Gear but when I press it on the Gear, utter! says, "How can I help? I'm off the network connection."
Thanks!!
Agreed
I just installed null_ on my gear and fully agree it would be ideal for the phone to be able to integrate with utter! and the watch without needing to go back to the phone ever. Well see what the future brings I guess.
Sugestion
I know this is an old post but i just read it.
When my gear is connected Utter! it tries to use the speakers on the watch and has no sound what so ever. I'm guessing because I am using a gear 2 neo there is a conflict between OS and the microphone and speaker will not work with the Utter! app. If using a blue tooth headset with this it may help Utter! communicate and by pass this problem. I would suggest using tasker to integrate the two. Setting up a task to wake Utter! via text, and create a hot key with the given command on the gear watch. So you text the word "Activate" to your self and Utter! becomes aware and can listen for a command.
Have not tried this yet my self waiting for my BT headset to come in the mail.
Yes!
Download wearable widgets from the play store (not Samsung cost $1.99 there.) Though I got it to work i can not use the microphone or speaker on gear 2 neo so when it wakes up it can't hear me in my pocket BT headset may still be the best bridge for this combo, but wont be as impressive to friends.
Hi all --
So my 6p, Pure Nexus Rom, is Bluetooth connected to my 2014 Cadillac SRX. Everything is checked off in the settings for the connection -- phone audio, media audio, and contact sharing. I make and receive calls fine. I can play music over the Bluetooth connection. But I have a program called "Out Loud" that is supposed to read my texts and messages over the Bluetooth connection, and it doesn't seem to work. Waze directions won't read over the connection either. However, if I'm streaming music from the phone to the car, out loud and Waze DO work. It interrupts the music to read texts, etc. But if I'm listening to the radio or an SD card plugged into the car's SD card slot, nothing. So clearly the notifications are working if I'm streaming music, but otherwise, no go. Shouldn't the "Media Audio" connection cover all my phone's media audio, not just streaming music? Does anyone have any idea why it's not and what I might be doing wrong? Thanks so so much for any help in advance, I truly appreciate it.
Not sure if it's supposed to work any different from mine (2008 Ford Fusion), but the only time I hear anything is if Bluetooth is connected and my radio source is set to Bluetooth or if I receive a call and my phone is paired to the vehicle, then it'll override anything that I'm listening to allow me to answer the call through my car. I'm assuming this is still similar in nature to your vehicle. Maybe the app has an option whether you'd like to route sound through Bluetooth or your phone speaker instead (just like in the Waze app)? If it doesnt, maybe the dev could consider adding this feature.
Yeah, it's odd. I was on a diffeent ROM (had to switch because I was getting a lot of hot boots), and the texts were read aloud through the Bluetooth no matter if I was listening to the radio, or streaming music from the phone. So I'm confused why it's not doing the same on Pure Nexus.
It's all about the different bluetooth profiles. The music streaming portion of bluetooth has no real priority, it's up to the radio to decide if you're going to hear the stream. Now phone calls, on the other hand, is a different portion of the connection. The radio allows the phone to interrupt whatever you're listening to. For me also, if you hit the google voice search on your phone, it'll interrupt the radio to use the car's built in mic and speakers to interact. With that in mind, we know it doesn't just have to be phone calls per se., the voice search interrupts the radio (or whatever other source) just fine. The question becomes that of figuring out what apps you can utilize to cause the bluetooth connection to recognize an interruption. Personally, I'd love to see it for Maps given the scenario of my listening to the radio and not hearing the turn-by-turn prompts since I'm not streaming from the bluetooth source and the phone obviously won't play it out loud. I've done some research (of course as a non-developer) and have found that it's such a low-level operation that most developers don't bother with trying to make work. The only reason you happen to hear notifications while streaming is because you've actively preselected the option on your radio to hear whatever the phone wants to push out in its entirety.
Yeah, I just can't figure out why, with one rom, all my apps seemed to have the capacity to have the Bluetooth recognize an interruption no matter what I was listening to, while on Pure Nexus, as you said, I have to have selected streaming phone music in order for those notifications to play through the Bluetooth. I wish I could figure out how to give Out Loud that same priority. In theory, it lets you pick the audio stream you want to try ("Music, Voice Call, Alarm, or Notification"), but none of them work for me. Very frustrating.
From my research it appears:
1) it's a recognized quirk that has something to do with incompatibility with one of the protocols that Android uses.
2) when using BT & 'Radio' setting (i.e. listen to radio in car): the nav voice commands will either be mute or fade-in.
3) when using BT & the 'Streaming Media' setting (i.e. play streaming music from your mobile): the nav voice commands will work as expected
4) This or this may or may not help.
5) IOS has this issue also[/QUOTE]
Hello all,
let me explain my situation. I am blind and I am using Android smartphone with Ticwatch watch running wear OS. Both devices are running a screenreading software which uses voice synthesis to describe what is going on etc. I bought a bluetooth headphones with multipoint support. My idea was to connect both phone and watch to the phone and therefore listen to screenreader in privacy of these headphones. Unfortunately it does not work like that, because when I connect my watch to the headphones, it disconnects from the phone and they stop receiving notifications etc. So I was wondering - is it possible to somehow route audio from the watch to the phone through Bluetooth? If yes, I could connect only phone to headphones and listen to audio from both devices. I think I would automate this with Tasker somehow. Any ideas if this is possible? Thank you.
Hello everyone,
A month ago, I bought a stereo with Android 11 that has Zlink 5.2.2 installed, and I used it so far with an iPhone 8 until I get the Android phone I had just bought. Everything was fine with Carplay, I used Waze and Youtube Music simultaneously and had no problems.
Once I connected my Android phone (Oneplus 9 Pro) to the stereo with Android Auto wireless, the glitches started. The music plays fine, and Waze works perfectly, but when there is any kind of notification, when it ends, the music is muted. To continue with the music, I have to stop and play it again, then the music volume comes back. If there is another notification (when the music is "muted"), the music comes to be heard slightly, but as soon as the notification ends it goes back to mute. I know it is muted because if I let the song run, and it finishes it goes to the next song (HUD) but it is still not heard.
I have looked to see if this problem was solved in any forum and only found these two:

If anyone can provide a solution to this issue, I would greatly appreciate it.

I'm having a similar issue. Every notification pauses spotify. I know it is paused because the icon of the button changes from pause to play. I have to hit the play button to reproduce the music again. This really bothers me. If you fix it please let us know.

I have found a solution for my case. I have bought a Chinese android head unit and using Android Auto by cable through Zlink. Every notification from the system pauses Spotify. When I turned off Bluetooth, the issue has disappeared. I have no idea why, but it seems that, in my case, since Android Auto works by cable, all the instructions are made by cable, so if Bluetooth is turned on, it was like all the instructions were duplicate, one by cable and another by Bluetooth, like a notification lowering the volume twice, which is equivalent to a pause, I don't know. The thing is, if Bluetooth is not connected, everything works just fine with Android Auto, no pause of music by any notification or Waze directions.
This started happening for me for CarPlay on zlink version:4.0.41.01 on ios15. it sometimes dips the music but majority of the time cuts it out. disabling Bluetooth didn’t help. Does anyone have a fix?

Hello.
I use an Android multimedia system in my vehicle. I bought this system online. A Chinese-made CarPlay system for vehicles that do not support CarPlay. I think it has some flaws because it is a system that has not been developed very carefully. This system came with a CarPlay clone application called QLink. Everything was going well, but when the phone call came in, things changed.
The system turns off the playing music and shows the incoming call. That's nice. When I answer the call, when the voice of the other person comes, the music that has been stopped starts playing again. Likewise, at a time when I have stopped the music in the car, if I turn on Siri, the stopped music starts to continue with the first beep of Siri. In short, every sound triggers other sounds that have stopped. I'm so tired of this situation. I disassembled the hardware. I couldn't find any port to connect to PC. I decided to tamper with the software.
There is a situation like this; my car has a bluetooth module and also the hardware i bought has its own bluetooth. But when I want to connect to this Android device via bluetooth, no option about sound is seen in the details. Only "contact list" and "internet sharing" options appear. Permissions such as "music" or "call" do not appear in the bluetooth options. I think it's because this "tablet" has access to the car's multimedia tools, but doesn't have any sound devices like microphones or speakers on its hardware. This is my guess of course. If a tablet does not have a microphone and speaker on it, then the sound-related permissions should not be visible when connected via bluetooth.
I want to bypass everything like QLink on this system and turn it into an Android tablet only. Then I will create a vehicle system as I want by installing my own applications. Here is the problem. While I understand electronics in general, I'm a total alien when it comes to mobile gadgets and Android. That's why I have a few questions for you and I will follow a path accordingly.
1- Can I fix this bluetooth audio permissions problem on tablet? With tricks like virtual microphone, speaker. Or is it something else other than my guess?
2- If I clean the tablet and connect directly via bluetooth, will the music and calls playing on the tablet play on the car speakers through the connections of this hardware to my vehicle? The service that installed the system brought the air conditioner, media and ECU connections of the vehicle together with a connector and connected them to this tablet. Will this link continue to work the way I want it to?
3- Did I explain my problem clearly? I dont know but if you need to know anything that I didn't mentioned then you can ask me every detail.
I really need every bit of information. Thank you so much for everyone's help so far. I'm looking forward to your answers.
