Recently acquired a Junsun 1G 16G android headunit and want to use the stock music player to play .mp3 files saved on the internal storage.
I have placed .mp3 files in the /music and /root folders yet they are not detected by the stock music player - but detects those saved on attached USB disks just fine.
Wondering if anyone knows where the .mp3 files need to be saved on the internal storage in order for them to be detected.. thanks

How would I copy/load music/songs from my SD card to my Elocity A7?
I want to put the songs in the A7 Music Folder. Is that possible?
Please advise and thank you.
Alice
Why? The elocity has less than 2gig space available. For me I'm leaving that space alone for new apps I'm sure to find. So, I am curious of your decision.
My grandson's A7 and his decision. You do bring up a good point which I will mention to him.
To answer my question - Is there no way to transfer music to the A7?
Yes there is.
Remove SD from A7. Use a SD to PC Adaptor to connect SD to your pc. After you have plugged in the sd open it's folder. Here you will create a folder named "music" in what is known as the root of your SD card.
After creating simply copy & paste your music to the "Music" folder you just created.
Replace the SD card in your A7, the music will load automatically. The same can be done for your movies aswell, by following the same steps but just naming thr folder "Movies".
Hope this helps you guys!!
Thanks for readiing!!
Which would mean that the files would still be on SD card because there is no need to reduce "precious" main memory...

And that gos without saying. Unless you feel the need for more fourm posts.....regards
Speaking of music, what about playlists? What formats are recognized? The manual and FAQ are completely useless; the music player is not described at all.
Hi,
I have G2 with stock f/w (2.2) with build # 1.22.531.8.
Here is the issue,
I copied mp3 files from PC to the SD card (used USB cable).
when I start the music app or ringdroid, I can't see any files on my SD card. how ever I can select the files using "ES File Explorer" and play it on music app.
But no files show up on the music app.
Here is what I have done so far,
--> deleted all the ".nomedia" files from the card
--> backed up data and formated the SD card thru the phone
--> copied all the files back
Here are few other things that I tried,
--> removed SD card and inserted it back
--> unmounted SD storage and mounted it within the phone settings
The music files are copied to the /music folder.
Please let me know if I am missing something here.
Thanks for your time.
have you tried a different music player ?
and try putting them in /mp3 (works for me)
maybe format the sdcard on your pc
Any media files I put on the internal storage are not being picked up by either the video player or music player. I can still access/play these files through the file manager. Any ideas on what could be wrong?
Thanks
Try Rescan Media by Aditya Talpade on the Market, solved the same problem for me.
There are two versions of the app one for rooted phones and one not.
Thanks, but that did not work.
The media scanner works and does pickup media on a microsd, but not on the internal storage.
I put a video file in the /sdcard folder of the internal storage and not the subfolders. Now the video application picks it up. Any idea what may be wrong with the subfolders? I did do a format of the internal storage.
Do you have a rogue .nomedia file lying in any of your subfolders?

Click to collapse
Not in the usbStorage folder. There are .nomedia files in other subfolders.
You cant put anything in the /sdcard folder that's the folder that becomes the external micro sd card when you disconnect/unmount the drives.
Just make a new folder in the root of the internal storage and call it whatever you like. Then put your videos in there.
So just make folders in the /sdcard/usbstorage for media?
Just to confirm, what is the proper procedure for loading media onto the internal storage? Connect with usb utilities, copy media, disconnect?
Connect your phone in mass storage mode to PC.
Open Phone via windows explorer .
Make new folder video
Copy a few videos in to this folder .
Via file explorer on phone locate and open a video in this folder .
Should now see them as normal .

i have a typical issue in my Yureka.
Google play music doesn't detect music/Mp3 files automatically from External Storage i.e., SD Card. Recently I downloaded few Mp3 songs using UC browser and these are stored in a folder named "UC downloads" in the Internal Storage and Google play detects the music files from UC downloads folder and not from SD Card.
Pls note, i have many mp3 songs already stored in SD card, but Google play music doesn't show the music files from SD Card.
Now my question is, why the Google play music doesn't detect the music files which are stored in External Storage i.e., SD Card?
And also, i have nearly 200 images & videos stored in SD Card, but Gallery doesn't detect these images & videos which are in SD Card..

Factory reset ur phone
I just upgraded from AT&T Samsung galaxy s6 to xfinity/comcast mobile Samsung galaxy s8. On s6, there was no external sd, so I had 128 gb phone, with Music folder on internal sd, and used Mortplayer for Music. Now a week ago, upgraded to S8 on xfinity mobile. Bought Samsung Evo 64 miscro sd card, formatted it on phone, and copied music files by connecting phone to my pc and copying files directly on external sd.
The Mortplayer does not recognize my external sd. It only shows /storage/emulated/0 (internal sd) but not /storage/xxxx-yyyy where my external sd card is based on file manager. By the way file manager can see the music folder on external sd, and if I click on any mp3, it gives option to play with several music players. I can play them with other players but not Mortplayer. Mortplayer will open up but does not play.
My wife has LG X power also with Android 7 from xfinity, and the exact same process on her phone did allow Mortplayer to see external sd on her phone and play files from there. So I think this seems to be Samsung galaxy s8 issue with vintage apps like mortplayer which have not be updated for Nougat.
I do not want to use adaptable storage. Also, transferring mortplayer to external sd did not work. Even after successfully transferring the app to external sd, it does not give option for Music on external sd.
It appears to be write permission for Mortplayer on external sd. I saw some posts for S7, that said if you modified platform.xml file and add permissions for media rw for write external sd, it works for s7. But the platform.xml file for s8 specifically says not to modify that setting.
I will appreciate any help. After using mortplayer for many many years since samsung galaxy s2, I do not feel like changing music player.
Thanks,
BJ
