Can I use ADB to unlock my Z3? - Xperia Z3 General

I forgot my PIN, and my screen's sensor is off (meaning that it acts up where I can't even enter guesses)
Is there a way that I can use ADB to access the pictures and video from my phone?
That's all I want to do.
If this is the incorrect sub-forum, I definitely appreciate it being moved to the correct location.

Galaxy Camera Hidden menus

Hey guys,
I spent all night trying to reenable USB on my device. Rebellos and I have been designing bootloaders and screwing with settings which are not normally accessed. So somehow I put my device into MODEM mode so it would try to connect to the computer as a data device instead of a camera/phone. I was seriously thinking my device was borked because I've been working inside it... and while it's a Samsung, it's not totally bulletproof.... So, to make matters worse, some asshole posted an invalid hidden code all over the internet to access factory mode on the Galaxy Camera.
Here's how you access factory mode and change your device between a normal camera and modem. Every other guide on the internet is wrong.
1. Install Nova Launcher from the market
2. hold on the launcher screen until a menu pops up.
3. select shortcuts
4. select Activities
5. select Factory Mode
6. Select Factory Mode FactoryCTRL
7. launch the Factory Mode shortcut you just created
8. use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1894102 to locate codes for your device.
I fixed my device with the *#7284# -- Phone Utility (USB Settings) code. Both should be set to PDA.
This technique should work for EVERY device. The codes will vary, but you should be able to access factory modes.
This is very useful information!
I don't see the thanks button.
But anyway, any luck on getting the device to make / receive calls / texts? Or print money at least?
Thank you.
Nevermind....not reading through

So why or what is the reason for factory mode? In other words, what do we gain by doing this?
what purpose ?
"I fixed my device with the *#7284# -- Phone Utility (USB Settings) code. Both should be set to PDA. "
Sounds feasable to me to at least have the option available
Nice and TKS

Hiya, just curious:
Are you using Nova Launcher just to get access to a dialler?
Thank you.... still can't see a USB mode though
Hi,
New member here and I want to thank you for the link for the code and the tip on using Nova to unlock more stuff from the SGC.
I did what you instructed above but saw that my device already had PDA chosen by default and I still can't see the USB Utilities on my Settings window, nor can I move apps from device to SD.
My SGC only has a few apps installed beyond the factory installed ones. Probably 5 utility and browser apps and about 10 games (kiddie ones like Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Minecraft) etc. and it's already running out of device storage space.
Is it possible to have the enable USB mode? Thanks

use GL to SD
the code via calculator works in getting into factory mode..
If the connected Camera is listed as being in MODEM mode, you should also be able to connect to it via terminal and using AT commands to set factory mode and available windows "ports". (MODEM, PHONE/PDA, etc.) These AT commands are (modem firmware) device dependent... So unless someone tell me the BP/CP chip used in this device (or send me the modem.bin), I can't tell you which AT commands to use.
=================== update ===================
I've found that they use the XMM 6260 as detailed in the THIS post. So If you're very brave in experimenting with these connections, you may want to look into this command:
Code:
AT+XSIO -- Configuration trace and modem (AT) interfaces
[ ONLY do this if you are not afraid of loosing PC connection to Camera! ]
This was a VERY useful post! Thanks! :good:
sorry to revive an old thread, but it seems my GC keeps going back to MODEM mode after a second soft reset. Is there any way to fix this?
thanks in advance,

[Q] Unknown PIN - recovery of device

Hi all
I'm attempting to fix a Nexus 7 2012 for a family member. I know that they never used a PIN previously and have been told that the PIN lock was activated when browsing the web and pressing the volume up button. Naturally I'm absolutely baffled as to how that set a PIN code but that's apparently what happened. Is there any Android malware that could have been downloaded which could cause this?
Either way, I've used a variety of resources to attempt to recover the device WITHOUT resorting to a factory reset (which I would like to avoid if possible), however I've reached an impasse so decided to ask about my specific case directly. At this stage I'd be happy to just find a way to somehow remotely backup the device so that the appdata etc. could be restored following a factory reset.
Here are the routes I've eliminated so far:
As this is a PIN code the option to login after 5 incorrect attempts is not available (that's for pattern locks only, unfortunately).
The Android Device Manager has not been set up with this device for Remote Wipe & Lock so I cannot change the PIN code remotely in this manner. Nor are there any other installed apps which would be of any similar use according to the list of installed apps on the corresponding Google Account.
Screen Lock Bypass Pro is incompatible with the device according to Google so I can't install that remotely from the Google Play store. Plus I don't know of any way to sideload it given the below two points (even if that were safe to do given that it's "incompatible"). This would have been sufficient to disable the lock screen long enough to back up the device using say Titanium Backup before wiping & restoring.
USB Debugging is not enabled which means I cannot do anything via ADB. Nor am I therefore able to backup by any means I've looked at thus far.
The bootloader is locked. To unlock you need to wipe the device, which as I mentioned above I want to avoid. This means I can't use a custom recovery to turn on USB Debugging and use ADB to load Aroma File Manager in order to delete the password database files.
So, I would like to know a way to do any of the following without a factory reset:
Remotely enable USB Debugging.
Remotely install Screen Lock Bypass Pro.
Backup the device.
Any other method to achieve the backup of the device or a PIN code reset that I'm currently ignorant about.
Please let me know if this is just impossible. I realise that the PIN code is there for a reason however I'm being persistent in case I'm overlooking something simple. Thanks in advance!
NB: Apologies but I can't yet include any URLs. Please let me know if you need any of my sources for the above information and I'll see what I can do.
Apart from sending a password request to your Gmail or linked email, unfortunately I don't think you can do anything without wiping. If it's a 4 digit pin code try guessing the basics. 1234, 0000, 4321,etc.

I have the Google Account e-mail and password so that isn't an issue. How would the above help to obtain the PIN code or to change it?
If I'm not correct somewhere at the bottom of the screen after entering it incorrect twice or three times, should display an email reset option. Let me try it and get back to you in just a moment.
Edit : was able to get it working for a friend on Android 2.2 but it is no longer working for me on 4.4.2 sorry.
Double edit : It is the pattern lock you can reset from but there used to be a way to do pin reset. I'll update my post if I find anything else. All the best.

No, as I said in my OP that's only for pattern locks.
I don't think there is any way to do it without wiping the device. Try safe mode though it may temporarily disable the pin. That would allow you to backup the device

Just tried Safe Mode but no luck. It really must be the OS that's responsible and not an app.
Thanks anyway!! I'll just have to wipe it.

[Q] Fingerprint scanner backup PIN code

Is there a way of setting the backup for the fingerprint scanner as a PIN code? The backup goes to a password but I'd prefer to have a PIN code as it's quicker to input and easier to tell people if someone else wants to use my phone for something.
I've had a look in the settings and either I'm being very dense or there isn't a way that I can see to do this. Any ideas on how to change this?
I'm with you on this one. I don't think there is a way. Something for a custom rom I suppose.
You'd think with the amount of settings on this thing there'd be something for everyone but doesn't seem that way unfortunately.

[Q] Unlock EL-1561AIO-T

Hello,
I don't know if I am at the right topic for this but,
Would somemone have any idea to unlock this device? EL-1561AIO-T
A friend of mine found it on the Dirt heap (or how you say in english)
But the only software that is on it is like for promotional ends just for 1 product. You can use touchscreen just for scrolling between products of tomtom that are for sell and that's it.
But if I look it up in the internet I see there must be a possibility to run some kind of android system running on this device. I think this is the device.
https://nl.aliexpress.com/store/product/15-6-inch-android-smart-tv-tablet-pc-kiosk-all-in-one-display-10-point-touch/414435_32586106266.html
But it is locked with "surelock" if we tap 10 times the screen it says to enter a pincode but nothing works.
Would there be a way to use this thing usefull and maybe set some android system on it for minimal use like for pictures or watching movies or something like that. I have seen there is also an sd card slot maybe this way?

I am thinking of rooting my Oneplus 8 Pro but... call recorder? infrared camera?

I am thinking of rooting my Oneplus 8 Pro but I would like to know if there is currently a ROM that allows me to:
have automatic call recording (maybe even with google dialer or third-party programs)
have the possibility to exploit the "infrared camera" at 100%
have the latest version of android (11) and related security patches
it's possible?
Thanks.
You can enable Call Recording with ADB you don't need root for that.
Code:
Use this code at your ADB shell:
adb shell settings put global op_voice_recording_supported_by_mcc 1
Using infrared camera is also avaliable with ADB
Code:
I think this is the only solution so far. With root you can just use this FactoryTool without pasting command. There is no a quick solution to use it in normal camera app.
adb shell am start -n com.oneplus.factorymode/.camera.manualtest.CameraManualTest
I already using OnePlus's latest OpenBeta's, they have mostly latest security patches. They are coming like 25th day of that month, you are using security patch a bit old but anyway I think it's fine, thats depends on you what you'll do with phone and considering are you really need that security patch that hard. Most of phones are getting them nearly per quarters of year.
And after unlocking bootloader is damn hard to hide from apps in Android 11. I was rooted like a month ago and I just give up. Thats not worth the effort you give. I used with root like a week than I realized I can do most of stuff I'm doing at phone without root/unlocked bootloader but I cannot do banking with root/unlocked bootloader. I think is the best part of rooting is you can backup your persist and modem partition if something goes wrong with your firmware in future you don't needed to deal with OnePlus's ****ty RMA process, they are this close to screw all persist partition.
If you have further questions I'll gladly answer them And If you want to root be sure to NOT use pre-modded boot images, they can broke all you fingerprint, camera, axonometry, gps sensors. Have a great day...

Thank you very much for the reply.
I have the latest version of android 11 released not even a month ago (updated to the latest security patches).
With this version do you think I can unlock registration via ADB with the command you gave me?
As for the infrared camera, using that ADB command would I be able to use it through the official oneplus "camera" app?
I also wouldn't want to root for any problems with banking apps and the like, so if I could fix that it would be better.
Thank you again.

I tried with the two ADB controls for recording and the camera.
The first one enables me the recording menu in the options, but in fact, despite having enabled the automatic recording, it does not record anything, the option appears on the dialer screen.
I think it is blocked for my country (Italy), is there any way to unblock it?
I was able to record the call. Stupidly I hadn't set the oneplus dialer as the default one. Now I wonder if there is a way to record calls with google too?
As for the room, on the other hand, even when photochromic is selected, it simply tells me that I have to be outdoors and in more illuminated environments.
I managed to enable the camera too: D
My only doubt now is if it is possible to make call recording work with the google dialer or, with the google dialer + external programs (like CubeACR).

You need to do your research yourself about Recording in Google's dialer. I'm not using it actively. I hope you'll find a way. And quick tip. After opening IR camera with ADB try to lock camera app from recently apps menu. With that you can use after a while without re-running command. And don't forget to share HowYouDid after figuring out recording at Google's Dialer. Have a great day!

You can't use call recorder on Android 11 in certain countries - Poland for example. I will try to go back to Android 10 ( Oxygen ).
Only way to get infrared is to roll back to 10.5.9 I think it is, I'm in the UK so that was the last one to work for me.
In regards to the camera on 11 it's quite simple but not the same..
Just obtain factory mode via the above method or several others, then you have two options.
Either use *#808# then go to the camera test page and use the 4th camera, then take screen recordings or screen shots (that's what I use) as it's the quickest way Vs the command to open it each time
Or
Download the app from the play store for the photchrom camera and use that which gives an interface for the same thing but has more options, simply cycle the camera using the flip button (bottom right)
OnePlus 8 Pro Photochrom[ROOT] - Apps on Google Play
OnePlus 8 Pro Photochrom Camera for ROOTED devices & OxygenOS 10.5.11 or 11
play.google.com
Call recording I have this by default.
If you're in a region like Australia then it may be blocked, AFAIK most places allow it.

VERY USEFUL.
Do you know where we could find more "tricks" like those??? They're great!
Donno if anyone chimed in bit I'm using mobile banking with zero issues rooted. If done right it all works proper. The main reasons for me to root are to force chat heads. (Exposed) change the dpi (much more real state ) gravity box(volume skip screen off with no issues ran through exposed) along with a few other things inside gv.
Button mapper for screen on volume skips (usually cannot get it to work right for screen off long press skipping but this with gravity box is a seamless long press setup) titanium backup to freeze a few things.
There's an app for root that allows you to basically shut all sensors and everything per app. Xprivacy or some thing other)
I can't not lol
