hey guys is will need some help with this device im not kind of a noobie on this kind of things bcs i been working with several phones, like the veteran xperia10, galaxy ace, motoroi2, etc etc. but never with a tablet
here is what it happens a friend ask me if i can upgrade his sgt-p1010 to a newer version, honeycomb or maybe ics, i´ve read a lot of posts regarding this on how to upgrade it trough odin everything was fine until the reboot of the device, bcs by my mistake i flash a rom of the 7.7" tab and this one is a 7" only now the tab is not turning on, odin is not recognizing it, either samsung kies or the pc. buttons are not responding it wont charge and cant enter to download mode.
I REALLY NEED HELP FROM U GUYS, HOPE U CAN HELP ME
ps. srry for my english
This kind of thing can result in the inability to boot which can only be repaired by the use of specific hardware, i.e. this could be a "hard brick". Then again, maybe it can be restored to working order by flashing it again (a "soft brick"). So the very first thing you need to know is, can it get to download mode?
Turn it off, if it's switched on, and charge it for a couple of hours, say four hours. Use the original charger connected to mains. It doesn't matter if it shows anything, or nothing on the screen, let it charge. This is to make sure flashing it won't fail because it doesn't hold a charge.
Now connect it to the PC with the original USB cable. Then after making sure it's switched off, switch it on by pressing the On/Off button, while simultaneously the Volume UP switch. Press them both at the same time, and keep them pressed! If you're lucky you'll get the yellow graphic with the download text. A phone symbol, an !, and a PC symbol is fine too. Even if it doesn't show anything, you may be in download mode, so install the right drivers, and hopefully Odin or Heimdall will recognise is, and will allow you to flash the right ROM.
well i already let it charge for all night long and nothing happens after i perfomed the flashing the screen was totally in black but it doesnt shoes anything i mean the tab was turned on, then apparently batterie dies and after that is not charging. already tried with the heimdall thing but it says that device is not connected.
I think that this is going to be a HARD BRICK
so do u thhink there is another way to solve it?????
or it will be necessary the JTAG stuff???? bcs i dont want to try that it seems that is very difficult to me bcs i dont know nothing about hardware jejejeje
You have installed the Heimdall driver? It's called zadig.exe. Then you have to go to download mode and connect the Tab to the PC with the USB cable. Then Heimdall hopefully will detect the Tab.
If there's no way software will revive the Tab, it's hard bricked and will need hardware to get it working again. There's this guy mobiletechvideos.com who will repair any kind of brick. Basically he uses the JTAG on the board of the Tab and a special box to flash the right ROM to the Tab, even when it's dead. Some here have tried the service, and they say he's quite reliable. Another way is to modify your Tab with Adam Outler's Unbrickable Mod. It's brilliant, you can't soft brick your Tab after that, but it involves soldering very small components on the board of the Tab. The mobiletechvideos guy can do it for you I believe.
Well, I guess you just got a hardbrick .
The only way to fix this problem is go to SAMSUNG SERVICE CENTER.

A few posters here claim that the G2 is unbrickable - but I think I can challenge that. It started off with me wrongly flashing the Cloudy ROM 3.0 - what I didn't realise only till later was that it was intended for the Korean variant of the G2. Dummy move indeed.. I had previously taken the necessary precautions and took a full titanium backup and ROM backup onto a USB drive via TWRP - I previously ran Cloudy ROM 2.2 with Dorimanx Kernel on KK 4.4.2.
Right now, the phone doesn't seem to power on via buttons. When I plug it to the PC via the USB, I get "QHSUSB_BULK" as an unknown device only.. no black screen while on, no drives or COM port.
First off I want to be clear that I know I and only I am responsible for bricking my phone - The reason I'm in this mess is completely down to my stupidity, and trusting 'educated guesses' instead of confirming specs black of white. Just wanted to be clear in case anyone gets the wrong impression.
So this is more or less the sequence of events;
1. After flashing, I got stuck in fastboot mode.. (can't find the link) I followed one post where I needed to flashed .img files via the Fastboot CLI (similar to ADB). I used the images from the LG G2 D802 16GB in europe. source.. It was a toss up between the EUR and non EUR, and so I made the first of my so called 'educated guesses' that sent this phone deeper into the ground.
2. Something went wrong as when I rebooted the phone (had no idea what had gone wrong at the time), I got no logo. After some time, I noticed the screen on with a black background. when plugged into the pc, the QHSUSB_BULK would appear and with it a bunch of drives that Windows thought needed repairing. so I followed This .. I installed ubuntu, booted to terminal so I don't get those auto discovery pop ups, I used the images recommended there for my device (again, it seemed to make sense to use the same that the OP was using for my LG G2 D802 16GB in europe... After I rebooted, it was to my horror that the screen didn't even turn on, with no drives being detected via USB.. just the QHSUSB_BULK. This is what made me realise that the culprit was most probably using wrong images rather than improperly executing the instructions.
3. I opened the phone and tried shorting some capacitors where I'm supposed to see the drives again to no avail. I even tried shorting the capacitors ends as described here to no avail. I done a good full hour shorting the hell out of those capacitors (the post says to keep at it till it works cos it can sometimes be a bit tricky) but I saw no change. I would like to try the DL mode described there but I can't figure out what I have to ground from the images shown in the post regarding the "BOOT CONFIG".
This is basically the state the phone is in at the moment. so to recap:
No bootloader,
no recovery,
no fastboot,
no download mode,
no drives when in QHSUSB_BULK mode,
no COM port.
From the multitude of unbricking guides here, I gather that I either need to see that bunch of drives again when via USB or a COM port. I tried installing Qualcomm drivers, thinking that if the pc recognises the device, I might get the pc to identify the COM port, but the driver couldn't be installed for the QHSUSB_BULK device (got some error.. I can update this post later).
I tagged this post as a question.. i'm sure there's a question here somewhere...

You can ask @somboons
he came from deep hard bricked.

When I first tried to enter QHUSB_BULK mode on mine, I took ages. Seriously, ages. It kept not showing the drives. Important thing to remember, in my opinion, is to use Linux (latest Ubuntu in my case). If you keep trying, eventually they will pop up for a split second. I can't remember how I did it, but you have to use a partition tool, I think, to get it to freeze the positions of the drives. Then, once it's 'mounted' them, you can try (and keep trying) to flash to each partition.
Mine was well and truly screwed, so I flashed a blank partition table on, then flashed each image onto that. It took a lot of trial and error, though, because it kept not showing the drives.

Mine was exactly the same I also had a blank partition table.. Anyway just keep trying because It took me a while to get mine working.. I was trying to short the capacitors but it seems to be quite hard sometimes especially if you aren't carefull.. Because you can start to mess with the soldering of the capacitors and it'll be harder after that.. It happened to me..
Anyway here's something I've wanted to ask everyone, after I sucessfully put my phone back to life, it seems like the middle button isn't working, the LED and the volume rockers are fully working, but if I ever press the power button after some time it shutdowns just like if I pressed and hold for a while, has anyone got this problem? It seems like the flex cable or something is damaged but i wanted to be sure it's really damaged or just something I could solve.. thanks and sorry for the off topic..

Hi, open ur phone again and check the display connector, try fully disconnecting it and reconnecting it and check if all other connectors in range are also properly connected. Then reassemble ur phone.
Next time, do not open your phone unless you really have to. I don't see why you have opened to reset it. You can press power for very long then after maybe 30 seconds or so, your phone will fully turn off. No need to open it for that.
Next time if you have a question, use the Q&A section, not this one. You'll get answers quicker there too.
Bricked or screen is broken
Without disassembling I was not able to detect my phone, after pin reseting phone was identified in windows. No recovery boot was working too... This is reason why I disassembled phone...
But thank you for reply..

if that worked, i'd be curious to know
bought this phone used and I don't think it was rooted but never checked, confirmed. Last night it turned off and will not turn on anymore..
Tried the pwr button for several minutes and no change. Plugged it in with several different cables and no change.
Any other suggestions or options? USB to computer detects something but says it can't install the driver.
Any ideas?

negative, either the phone is totally dead or the screen is dead but NOTHING happens when pwr is pressed
here is what I have tried:
1. Press and hold PWR button for over 3minutes
- Plugged in and unplugged into ac - no change
2. Press and hold volume DOWN + Pwr for over 3minutes
- Plugged in and unplugged into ac - no change
3. Plugged into different a/c power outlets with 2 different chargers - no change
NOT sure what else to try or do?
Funny thing is if ya plug into a computer it does indeed detect "something'
However it says it can't load the USB drivers something about QU_***
Open to any ideas and suggestions.. WHILE I would love to get the phone working whats more high priority for me now is the 20gb's of pics that apparently did NOT back up.

Funny thing is- that "something" is the solution to your problem. Capture the error message completely and search the 6P forums for that. Several threads on the "something" issue.

fixed that issue, aka QHSUSB_BULK is now working properly according to Device Manager.. but Nexus 6P is not detected, and doesn't even show up in Disk Management either.
Any other ideas?

If you found the right EDL_9008 thread, there is Qualcomm software to download for your PC. If your phone is in the right downloader mode you can use the PC software with a special recovery.img. I don't know anything about it, just read through the threads long ago. It's a mixed bag with some success stories, some not. Keep looking though, I think you are on the right track. The original poster was "Tenfar" if I recall correctly. Good luck.
Try cleaning out the charging port.
Hi there,
I think we are in the same/similar boat. My phone shut off while using it (screen froze, then went black) and seems to have bricked itself. I *am* able to get mine to turn on, but only about once per day after it has been left plugged in for a few hours (although there is no indication it is charging while plugged in - never gets warm, no lights, etc.) I can get into recovery if I am lucky (usually get to the android bot laying on its back, then PWR+VOLUP just causes the phone to shut off instead of actually getting into recovery menu.) I've been able to clear cache/factory wipe from recovery menu with no luck. I never did unlock the bootloader so I am unable to use fastboot to do anything. I tried to flash a few OTA (full and incremental) images using adb when I am able to get into recovery, but they always failed in one way or another.
I've been trying the methods described in the 'tenfar' threads - using the xiaomi flasher and QPST tools. The xiaomi tool always fails for me. I have been able to get the QFIL tool to successfully 'download' about 3 times now, with tenfar's recovery images. However, after the success message, the phone doesn't do anything (I read in other threads it should reboot itself) - and after unplugging, the behavior of the device seems to be the same - just stuck and won't turn on at all.
Right now I think I am stuck in 'EDL' mode where the only evidence that the device isn't completely dead is that it shows up in device manager as 'Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 (COM3)', and the factory imager tools do recognize it.
It *seems* like the only way forward is to somehow get one of these factory tools to flash the right set of files onto the device - I've tried a few now with no luck. I even tried extracting the relevant *.img files out of the google factory image download and replacing tenfar's image files with them. I was able to load those onto the device with QFIL. This morning my attempt at turning on the device has me stuck on the white google logo, which is new behavior for me - usually it shows the logo for ~5-10 seconds then the device powers off. I've left it on for a while stuck on the white google image, but I'm not sure if I'm doing anything useful here.
Here are my reference threads:
tenfar's 'debrick' thread
QFIL thread
If anyone has any crazy ideas, I am open to try them. Thank you.
Maybe disable big cores?

I have the 100% same issue. Screen froze, then went black and now its stuck in EDL mode. I need my data. Recovery access or anything else would be fine/enough for me. I have had LineageOS and TWRP on the device. With TWRP i can access my data.
How have you got your device on? Mine dont start once a day or so. Its always in EDL mode ( 9008 ).

Sorry bud - I never was able to get any further than when I posted this. I eventually gave up, got a full out of warranty refund through my CC after the manufacturer wouldn't help me at all, and upgraded to a Pixel XL. I still do have the device, I should try to boot it up again . I didn't have any data concerns on my device so I was able to give up... good luck!
Hey guys,
Guess today it was my turn ****ing up.
I apparently have completely bricked my Axon 7 after trying to go from LOS 15.1 to stock oreo beta. The only thing I seem to be able to boot to is DFU mode and for some reason, if I press the Power button + Vol Down I will get stuck on the ZTE Logo and my PC will detect my phone through the ADB interface but every time I try doing something it says my device is unauthorized. Is there any way I can authorize the device whilst being completely bricked?
The only other thing I get is the unlocked bootloader warning screen. If I don't press anything the phone will be stuck there, if I select recovery the phone will simply shut down and anything else will result in a reboot. I have also tried a deep flash cable that that only results on the phone being stuck at the unlocked bootloader screen.
I cannot access the bootloader,
I cannot access EDL mode
I can access ADB, but device shows as unauthorized.
I can access DFU mode.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. I have looked at the Hard brick guide that involves taking the phone apart but that's not something I really want to do.
Thanks in advance.
Edit: My phone gets detected by MiFlash but every time I try flashing I get a cannot receive hello packet and object reference not set to an instance of an object.
ZTE axon 7 EDL tool detects it in ADB mode but says ERROR! NO ANSWER FROM PHONE!. Possibly since its not authorized with ADB.
Ouh....DFU? I think this thing is totally bricked.
I can access my phone in ADB. If only I could make it reboot to edl or something like that through ADB even though my device shows as unauthorized. That is the only problem why this thing is completely messed up.. ADB works but I can't do anything with it because my phone shows unauthorized. Does anyone know if there's a workround or a bypass for that?

Hi Victor !
Like we discussed before there is nothing much left as to use the DFU unbrick-disassemble guide or buy something like this to be sure you tried everything.

Nothing, you'll have to use my guide for that (the one that raystef linked). Otherwise try entering FTM mode (Power and Vol-) but it's surely not gonna work. If it does, you'll see a screen with a square that says "FTM", and you'll be able to do " adb reboot edl" and flash stuff from there.
Unbricking by disassembing the phone is the most reliable method; an EDL cable just might save you the hassle but it's not guaranteed to work; some phones won't accept it for some reason. In this case just follow the guide unless you want to try your luck with an EDL cable

Hello. Thank you for your advices, it is as I feared.
I have however already bought another Axon 7 which I'm using at the moment, and I have plans for mine since it was only bought new about 8 months ago and I believe I could get a replacement for a fee even if its bricked to fault of my own. So I will try that since I'm not in a rush.
This thread can be closed.

In that case you can just pretend that the phone got in that state by itself, it's not too morally correct but some people here pulled it off...
twice now i have gotten an axon 7 into this state. while mine have been a2017u models, i dont know that they are different than yours in that regard.
What worked for me the first time was letting the phone completely die. Being unable to boot into anything, it was somewhat a task to actually make it die, so i kept powering it on (which merely made the red led indicator come on). i did this over and over again over the course of a day at work whenever i noticed it had powered off.
eventually, the phone had no response at all. then, i plugged it up to my laptop, and left it, convinced i had killed it. a dialogue popped up after a minute or two on the phone screen saying to charge the phone by plugging it up. i had no access to fastboot or EDL mode prior. once i got that 'plug in to charge' screen, i switched it to the wall charger, and left it to charge a bit (50-60%) from that state, then, i unplugged it again, and somehow, i managed to get edl mode to work by unplugging it and pressing all three buttons and holding them (typical edl boot).
once there, i reflashed via MiFlash an earlier build. i rolled back using MiFlash as far back as i could. in the process, i lost my imei and serial, which i have yet to successfully recover, but i did get out of DFU pergatory. the imei thing seems to be caused by going back to MM which i did on both of my IMEI-less a2017u boards, but im only guessing. my dd axon 7 is the only one of the three boards with imei and serial, so maybe MM is a bad idea. lol.
The first time i recovered from DFU, i did it inadvertently by letting the phone die and then flashing in EDL mode as well. (i left it for a few weeks as i had given up on it.) after it died completely, and i plugged ut up to the computer and had the same experience, I flashed the beta oreo build for a2017 using miflash. the screen had stopped responding. and i ended up doing a RMA. I now know the screen response thing was bc of a faulty EDL file of B15. (happened again to another of my axon, so i retraced my steps and realized it was when i flashed b15 that it died) . the fix if your screen ever stops responding, but isnt physically damaged? re-flash via EDL a different file. it may take a few tries, but eventually a build will work. for me, it was Marshmallow. I still do not know for certain, but that possibly is what killed my IMEI. but hey, it boots and the screen works.
I genuinely hope posting my idiocy in toying with axon 7s has helped someone out there.
