Posting this link as I couldn't find a link to this Project anywhere else.

Unfortunately it is now classed as a legacy device so no longer receives updates.
However that wouldn't stop a developer from doing an unofficial build etc. I was thinking of it in order to update
it to Android 10 or 11, but you apparently need 16GB RAM and 400GB free space to install 'Docker' on a Linux system,
which I don't have at the moment.
An interesting Project though.
The installation runs completely through, but then booting stops at the "Google" sign.
Next try: Install a stock android (using Nexus Root Toolkit), then install the recovery anew, boot recovery, format Data, Cache and Dalvik, and install /e/ OS as described.
This time the e with the bouncing dot appears and then I get to read
Android System: A vendor image mismatch has been detected. Typically this means your vendor image is out of date. Please ensure your vendor image matches. OPM7.181205.001
Click to collapse
And when I touch the "OK", "System UI has stopped". Any idea how to fix this?
Followed THIS instruction. The same error...
Do you have the latest (ie last) Factory Image? In fastboot mode you should have Bootloader version BHZ32c and Baseband M8994F-2.6.42.5.03. These should correspond to the factory image 8.1.0 (OPM7.181205.001, Dec 2018) which you can download at https://developers.google.com/android/image.
You need to have this factory image installed before installing TWRP and then e/OS.
Once you get into e/OS you might find an error message about eSpeak TTS when you click on camera or Maps. You can resolve this by going to Settings-System-Language&Input-Advanced-Text to Speech output and changing it to 'Pico TTS'.
You might find this list useful. Had to convert it to a .txt file as I couldn't upload spreadsheet file.
FYI, I installed Ubuntu and Docker on a spare hard drive and followed the e /OS instructions to try and build an Android Pie version for bullhead, but the process failed. Meantime trying to read the log to see why it failed.
OK, next try: I managed to install the stock rom that you mentioned. The bootloader version is now BHZ32c and the baseband is M8994F-2.6.42.5.03. The download link changed to https://developers.google.com/android/ota?hl=de#bullhead from which I downloaded the latest OTA version 8.1.0 (OPM7.181205.001 from December 2018. And after 32 bounces of the dot it booted! Now I have something to play with again.
Thank you!
That is great. That should be your de facto Stock ROM to flash everytime you need to restore your phone. The other thing to note/check next time is in the stock Android Recovery screen (before you install TWRP). It should say at the top google/bullhead/bullhead and then 8.1.0/OPM7.181205.001/xxxxxxx. This again confirms the version you have installed in your phone.
If you are not sure how to get into stock Android Recovery, first boot into Fastboot Mode.
Use Vol up and Vol Down to scroll through menu and the Power button to select an option:
Start
Restart bootloader
Recovery Mode
Power Off
Select Recovery Mode then wait until you see the 'Robot lying down' and "No command" text appear on screen. Now hold Power button and briefly press the Vol-up button.
Android Recovery screen should now appear.

Hello Friends, I just upgraded my Zenfone 3 ze520kl to Nougat, but i prefer Marshmallow i try from recovery mode to flash Marshmallow, it shows error and the installation aborted. Can any one help . Thanks.
What error does it show?
Error with some numbers follows by 'install aborted'. I unable remember the error numbers. I did three times all the time with same remark.Thanks.
That's not very helpful. Can you try it again and tell us exactly what it says?
Hi,
I downgraded a few days ago, here's an overview of the steps.
WARNING, this requires a factory reset so you will lose the data on the phone, so make sure you have backups before you proceed. You do this at your own risk and I am not responsible for any damages.
I assume you have adb / drivers all configured and know to how use them.
1) download firmware file http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE520KL/UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip and save to SD card / insert card in phone.
2) download recovery and boot img files for Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
- https://mega.nz/#F!ok0V0RIA!5WKtHe98opzjVI3NPbM7Ww
- under the folder Z017D_WW_13.20.10.152
3) Go to fastboot mode (power + vol up)
- flash recovery.img (command: fastboot flash recovery recovery.img)
- flash boot.img (command: fastboot flash boot boot.img)
4) reboot to recovery (power + vol down)
5) install update form micro sd card.
set the file UL-ASUS_Z017D_1-WW-13.20.10.152-user.zip that you saved earlier
6) wipe cache
7) factory reset
If you don't do a factory reset and reboot, Android pretty much crashes on multiple processes on start up, it is unusable.

TK

Same thing happened to me as well. I just went ahead to flash the RAW file (http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2016/12/asus-zenfone-3-raw-firmware-and-asus.html) and updated the software to the latest marshmallow update, followed by a factory reset.
If we Downgrade
Then we get update in future yes or no??
Sorry for bad English??
Yes.
Hi, thanks for the help. Please answer this:
Do I need to use Recovery and Boot.img the same version of ROM? Why?
Why do I need to install Boot.img?
Hello. I tried downgrading from the latest ASUS firmware to Android 6.0.1
I used this tutorial to install the raw firmware: http://www.asus-zenfone.com/2016/12/asus-zenfone-3-raw-firmware-and-asus.html
Went all the way to the last step when the app hanged. ASUS Flash tool went all the way saying
Code:
Run flash image script ...
It was hanged there. And as per this video, went all the way to the end where it showed the "code bar" on the right (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8xg7A-P7Ak)
This is when the "Android" uninstalled driver showed up in Windows. This is under "Other devices - Android". I tried updating this driver using the ASUS_Android_USB_drivers_for_Windows found here: https://www.asus.com/Phone/ZenFone-3-ZE552KL/HelpDesk_Download/ but it wouldn't install the drivers.
Note that I used these ASUS USB drivers to get the ASUS ADB Interface installed. As per the tutorial I showed in the very first paragraph, I never got the "ASUS Android Bootloader Interface". This is what I think this "Other devices - Android" is found under Computer - Manager - Device Manager.
Most tutorials on the internet shows that the "ASUS Android Bootloader Interface" should be installed using these drivers found on ASUS website, the ASUS_Android_USB_drivers_for_Windows.
Now of course because I unplugged the phone, it will continously stay on the Android splashpage showing the loading circle infinitely.
As a last attempt I tried installing the "stock", not "raw" firmware (the one I wanted to install WW_13.16.5.49 but ASUS would not let you downgrade using the recovery "power+volume down" and using "Apply update from microSD card". It would give the
Code:
Warning- No file-contexts. This package is for "ww-phone" devices, this is a E:error in /side load/ package.zip (status 7) Installation aborted.
)
Well, after it brinked, I tried it again and this time it DID install WW_V13.16.5.49. Was succesfull. But after the ASUS splashscreen it's still stuck in the booting process.
I am very sorry if my post is convoluted but I tried explaining everything I did. Any way to un-brink it? I think maybe if I figure out how to properly install the ASUS Android Bootloader Interface, I can try again ASUS Flash tool and install the raw image and maybe that will fix it?
Please help. Any questions if my thread is too confusing, please let me know and I will answer it. I can't even turn off the phone. While it's stuck into the load splash screen, if I press the power button it just restarts, not turn off.
I still have access to fastboot (pwr + volume up) or recovery (pwr + volume down)
EDIT: Phone won't get recognized anymore in ASUS Flash Tools. Serial number won't show up to select
Factory reset and delete cache/dalvik through recovery and post back. It'll take 5-10min to boot up after that. You should always delete cache/dalvik after flashing.

Thank you, this actually worked!!
Aaaand, it's actually on the version 13.16.5.49!!!! THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I WANTED!
So apparently by brinking my latest nougat 7.0 update from ASUS via the ASUS Flash Tool trying to flash the .RAW 13.20.10.137, the standard recovery system (power+volume down) allowed me to install the 13.16.5.49 version. Then I assume remnants files didn't allow to properly boot, and your idea to wipe cache and factory reset fixed that!
What is so great is that I was scared that because the .RAW firmware was newer than the version I needed (13.16.5.49), I wouldn't have been able to install it. It was the same problem initially, when I tried to install 13.16.5.49 directly via recovery over the latest nougat 7.0 version from ASUS, but it was giving me
Code:
Warning- No file-contexts. This package is for "ww-phone" devices, this is a E:error in /side load/ package.zip (status 7) Installation aborted.
I think this error was due to the fact that ASUS won't allow older firmwares to be installed over newer ones, as per their webpage
https://www.asus.com/support/faq/1009748
Code:
You can not change the SKU from one to another, e.g., WW -> TW, and also can not downgrade your firmware, e.g., V2.20.40.13 -> V2.19.40.18
So in the end, what allowed the 13.16.5.49 stock firmware to be succesfully installed? The installer not detecting a proper firmware anymore because of the damaged update due to ASUS Flash Tools hanging because my computer won't install ASUS Android Bootloader Interface?
Glad you got it going :good:
I have twrp flashed on my phone, and so cant get the oreo update. The phone had been stuck in the bootloop recently, and the guy at the service centre flashed the first available version of the firmware, but how he did it without removing the custom recovery, i dunno. So now i need the boot.img for this firmware: (WW_Phone-13.16.5.33). Thanks in advance.

It says the stock firmware is for nougat, i myself am currently running marshmallow. I had tried to flash nougat through the custom recovery, ( when the thing was stuck in a bootloop) and it said something like only versions upto *some serial no.* can be updated.
Anyway, thanks for the links, will try it.:good:
Hello, I own the ZE552KL (Z012), but when I saw your question I was able to find a link containing what you need for your model. Take a look, I did not download but I believe it contains the necessary files.
1) download firmware files :

I hope you can solve your problem.
Urgent help needed as I'm leaving the country at the end of the week o any help is appreciated!
Just successfully rooted my device:
Black, Unlocked, PRA-LX1, UK, Dual SIM
After doing so successfully, I attempted to flash LineageOS from the following link:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p8lite/p8-lite-2017-development/rom-lineageos-15-1-hi6250-devices-t3811583
Although when I completed Step 6 on the Installation guide and rebooted the phone, I started seeing the message:
------------------
ERROR MODE
Attention!
Please update system again
(Green Android picture)
Error!
Func NO : 11 (recovery image)
Error NO : 2 (load failed!)
------------------
Despite this, I didn't receive a box with my phone due to being second hand, and I didn't see the model number on the receipt as it was from a reselling store. I didn't remember to note down the specific model number
It'd be extremely helpful if someone could possibly help just from the device description above as I'm not sure if it's safe for me to just attempt to flash every stock rom for every other LX1 device out there.
---------------------------------------------------------------
Update:
To restore this, I connected via fastboot with a working USB & flashed an original stock recovery in the video found here
(Just in case their download link ever goes down, I have uploaded the same copy to my MEGA, found here)
The recovery installed fine when using the command
fastboot flash recovery oeminfo.img
Click to collapse
Whenever trying to flash any other recovery such as twrp before this fastboot stuck on a loading icon.
The stock recovery seems to be downloading the original firmware, too.
PRA-LX1C432B202 is presumably the model.
Both the bootloader and FRA were unlocked when everything else was inaccessible.
Looks like the custom ROM's recovery that you've flashed is not compatible with PRA-LX1. Try to flash stock recovery. If not working, then flash stock firmware.
Thanks @Botar230!
I didn't see your comment until just now after deciding to edit this post since I've gotten a step closer to restoring my device.
Your solution was the method I used although I didn't know my phone model, so I found a random solution which just worked for my device, and the eRecovery seems to be downloading the stock firmware anyways. Thanks again
Before flashing this lineage os you should update to EMUI8 to get treble support, i suppose you was running EMUI5, hence the error mode.
Hello.
I got V20 F800L "rooted" with Lineageos. I wanted to restore the factory system. I downloaded the .kdz file and LGUP and LGFirmwareextract program and started flashing.
During the final phase of flashing, the smartphone resets, then less than a second I see a circle with the word "erasing", then a moment animated LG logo, then the static logo LGU+ and locks here.
Windows drivers and LGUP still recognize the device, I can flash different versions of f800l, I tried 10e and 20k and the program communicates that the flash was successful but nothing changes, the system does not boot.
I can enter the "power + vol + down" mode to do "factory data reset", after that appears for less than a second a circle with the word "erasing" , then logo "LG U +" logo and locks in place.
How to recover the device, please help.
Use LGUP patched, restore device with DL Mode option and select all partitions. When device rebooting, disconnect and reconnect the battery then do the factory reset. Your device will be fully restored to stock

Thank you for your response.
I tried to use the version with the LGUP patch.
I chose the PARTITION DL option and selected all partitions. While the LGUP program reset the device, I pulled out and inserted the battery, after the reset the program confirmed the success, but the device still can not start, and then all I have is the LGU + logo.
Did I do something wrong? do you have any other ideas?
I have no idea, maybe some partition is corrupted and cannot be restored.
But you can try this tricky way (if you have no choice)
Download us996 10f kdz, use PARTITION DL with all selected partition to crossflash your device to us996. LGUP will show a dialog box tell you want to repartition some partition layout. Click yes then wait to finish and hopefully it boots fine.

I tried with different versions of ROM. Finally it boot. At the beginning I flashed with versions 10e (Android 7) and 20k (Android 8) with PARTITION DL mode, but it did not boot, but finally I was flashing the latest version 30e (Android 9) for F800L and the system started
Thank You khtr98. Problem solved

But option to enter the download mode (via usb+volume-up) has disappeared. I lost possibility for downgrade and root when I choose android 9 for f800l ?
after upgrade (official android 9 for f800L), when i try to go back to oreo or nougat i used a patched LGUP i get the message:
Error 0x ....., plaease use last DLL
LAF Protocol Version is not match DLL = 10 .......
Device = 14 ....
is downgrade possible?
ok. is possible
==================================================
For educational purposes, I again downgraded the version from the rooted line 17 to the factory Android 7.
This time it went smoothly because I did advanced cleaning in TWRP before.
I used the wrong version of the patched LGUP, this version is correct, it allows downgrade: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/general/tecknights-aristo-2-tutorials-t3805141/page3
