So I just got a Nothing Phone 1, but for some reason it is not detecting any OTA update. The pictures below are the info on the phone. I hope I can figure out why, before trying sideloading the update (as I have never done it before and don't want to risk bricking the phone)
Or, is there a full update package for 1.5.2 so I can sideload update directly from 1.0.2?
Hope someone can help me out cuz I am kinda sad as I just got the phone and thought I could have the latest Android 13 update and start using the phone

Sigh, even when I try to sideload any version of any update, it just says "INVALID UPDATE FILE" and "The software version is wrong and cannot be upgraded"

Have you tried with full EEA 1.1.7? And did you try updating from the hidden app in the dialer?

I have tried to side load full global 1.1.7 by the hidden app in the dialer since my phone should be the global version, but it's a no go. I have tried EEA and global of other versions too, but all give me the same message of invalid update
But I'll try EEA 1.1.7 later, hope it might work?

Well, the only thing that comes to my mind is to use the EDL tool by @mark332. It will format your data though but should put you on an 1.1.7 version that you can then update.

THANK YOU!! I tried with EEA 1.1.7, and it did the trick!
I the sideloaded 1.1.8, and finally 1.5.2 so everything is good now! I can't thank you enough! You saved me a trip to the service center lol
Just one more thing: after you sideload an update, you can no longer get any OTA update in the normal way? It seemed the case because after I had sideloaded 1.1.7 and 1.1.8, when I tried to check for update in the setting it just said I am up to date

I think it should continue to receive OTAs but I never tried myself. The cause of why OTAs are now broken for you may be the same they were broken before.

EEA 1.1.7 is under EEA 1.1.7 hotfix. ! If you're on EEA 1.1.7 hotfix you must flash Nothing OS 1.1.8 then Nothing OS 1.5.2 . You can use local updates from dialer . Look fo it on Update Tracker , it is explained the correct sequence of OTA :

Ok , forget 1.1.8 and try from 1.1.7 Hotfix , 1.5.2 or those under 1.5.2 ( 1.5.1.and hotfix) . I was also on EEA and I flash from local updates all beta incremental updates till 1.5.2 . All worked flawless .
Error 20 is about an incorrect updates rollout timeline . 1.1.8 was for non beta users , 1.5.1 and 1.5.1. Hotfix were for beta users . 1.5.2. is for all .

You can choose the top OTA and download, or click the first link in my other post, I don't have any info on how to install it, i don't want to take a chance that its a beta..
You can probably fallow the same how to as B521, dload folder on sd card might work.
I got update by OTA today. You can update to B521 First. Then waiting for OTA.
Did some more reading and found this thread https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-8/general/update-to-nougat-easiest-playstore-app-t3554957
other people have upgraded to B563 using this method. some said it was stable so i decided to upgrade.
I fallowed the instructions in the beginning of the thread and it was pretty easy to upgrade to B563 from B211.
Unchecked View last firmwares inside firmware finder and i was able to select B563 and then go into setting > update of the phone and update..
I can confirm that everything looks to be working, no problems like B521 has..
Bluetooth and default keyboard work.
the phone was a bit slow after it booted, but was ok after 5 minutes or so..
no problems up to now.
Does B521 also need 5 minutes to boot into system?

I have tried to upgrade from B521 without success. I keep getting authorization failure message in the end.
And if you are not able to uppgrade from B200 that means it doesn't make any sense for me to downgrade to be able to upgrade to B563.
I wonder if anyone has managed to upgrade to B563 from B521?
I got the OTA update and managed to update to B563 from B521. I have signed up to be beta tester last time. Probably this update is pushed to those beta tester only

So B521 is definitely a beta release.
What is B563 then? Is it official version? How on earth can one tell which version is official and which is the beta?

I think this B563 is still beta. So far there's no official final version for C636 variant yet.
Hi, i'm an italian user, i've a Mate 8 NXT-L29C636B170. I try to update but for each version (b193, b211, b521, b563) i have "failed to check update package" error.

You have to download the official full version. since b521 and b563 are beta, you'll get failed to update package error. Trying googling for B321 full version. I was on B170 myself before I updated to B321. Let me know if you can't find it.

That with official and beta is like rocket science, not many knows which is which. My phone is delivered with B180 so I can assume that was the "official" release. Since then I had have many versions that I downloaded from the official firmware thread here on the forums and updated via dload method. I was always successful even though I had to do factory reset before the update sometimes.
So back to the official/beta versions question. What is the source of information telling you what release is official.
I have successfully updated to B563 by downgrading to B211. I downgraded, factory reset my phone and update to B563 was showing available in system update. It was not through firmware finder and I'm not a beta tester so if B563 isn't official why was it in my system update then?
Personally I don't care what kind of release it is as long it is a stable release. It seems to be individual as well, I had good experiance with B521 and no issues with that release but I read that people had problems with it.
Any way I'm very satisfied with B563, no issues with it yet so I'm keeping it.

now oreo update is available in hisuite for frd-l09c432 and frd-l09c10
it is official
Today? I've updated officially through hisuite my FRD-L09 in Italy on 16th August, where do you live?
Did mine update this morning via Hisuite also my device LRD-L09 (C432) all factory standard phone.
So far all seem smooth using Nova Launcher as I just used to this..
Update:
Huawei file manager in Oreo is 10.1.2.302.EU and this offered me an OTA update package to 10.1.2.303 EU. which I had downloaded. Now after this update File manger I could not select any file apk, image, doc, mp4 with file manger shutting down once said file was selected. I had cleaned the cache rebooted device still same thing. So I downloaded and install a 3ed party file manager and this worked as it suppose to.
I could not uninstall Huawei file manager update via phone, so I connected the phone to a computer and used Hisuite to uninstall the new File manager update so its back to 10.1.2.302EU build and all is working as it should. Also uninstall the 3rd party file manger..
Did anyone experience such issue?

Guys dont become too excited. We got Oreo on HiSuite at the end of August. (Hungary)
But a couple of days ago there was a new OTA update, after that (B412) we cant update to Oreo anymore.
Because B412 doesnt see the Oreo as an update, and if someone is on B407, the newest rom will be B412 for him/her.

Before that I was in B405, I tried to update via HiSuite the whole september month (with an hungarian IP address), in vain..
Never been able to get the B407 either BTW
Before the B412, u had to touch the tree small square/circle in the update menu, then u could select "Download newest full update package" or something like that. Now it will pop u up the 412.
Check Hungarian Prohardver forum. I will upload the B521, Oreo Full-Ota-Mf-PV ROM at the weekend, then u will be able to install that through the 3 button method or service menu. If u need u will find there a tutorial too, it doesn't need root anything like that.

There is no need to open a thread for this request.
Once all the packages are available online you will find them here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...f-nothing-os-update-30-09-2022.4464039/unread
Stock-boot.img files of OTA updates are not put online because they are not valid (
We only put the Stock-boot.img of the full package versions.
Otherwise they would already be available since the OTA versions are available!

Thats the reason for my request. I expected someone to share the unpatched stock image backup which is created from magisk. Maybe i should have made that more clearly.
Thanks for you work on this forum.
Yes, I also need this file! So please if someone could upload this, it will be great!
Currently the Nothing OS Full package 1.1.4 EEA or GLOBAL version are not available for download.
I tried since several days to find but I think that Nothing doesn't want to share this release

It's useless to post the same request in another thread.
One post for your request is sufficient.
Be careful next time
I managed to root my device using the boot.img file from the 1.1.3 OTA that is available, works like a charm on the 1.1.4 rom.
