No, it doesn't talk about a vbmeta, so you don't need one.

Is it safe to upgrade to TWRP 3.0.2?

Hi there.
Is anyone here using TWRP 3.x? I'm still on 2.x, since I read of lots of problems with newer versions of the recovery on this device, but I'd like to upgrade now. Can anyone give me some feedback?
Thanks in advance
It works but as with multiple posts not with Aroma.
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I see no reason to update if u have no issue on 2.x. sometimes upgrade is just a no go.

Try it.. It totally a new design You can revert back, if you don't like it.. By flashing the image through the new twrp itself.

If you're trying to downgrade, it means that you've flashed TWRP.
If you've flashed TWRP, it means that you already know how to flash a custom recovery.
If you already know how to flash a custom recovery, then this is EXACTLY the same thing. Just pick an older version of TWRP and flash it the exact same way you would flash any version of TWRP.
And if you don't even know how to do that, google is your friend.

Look up and download stock-rom from a site like sammobile (or find it on this site), install the app Flashfire, and follow the instructions. Pretty easy stuff. Just remember a couple things......
always take a backup before doing anything (use Flashfire or current TWRP)
make sure you use the right rom for your variance (ie, SM-G530H, or SM-G530T, etc.)
wipe before you install the new firmware
If you have any questions, look for a forum on here that's specific to your phone. There's always someone on here that surfs these threads looking for the opportunity to help out rookies like you and I. As long as you ask it on the right forum, there will always be help available.

Yeah, it'll flash it add long as the file format is correct. Use Odin on a PC is the easiest way. Damn near foolproof.

First time building a ROM

I really want to put a custom ROM on my phone (Asus ZenFone Laser 2 - ZE500KL), obviously without bricking it. Because I can't find RessurectionRemix or LineageOS already built, I'm going to try building by myself.
I can't find any good tutorials, but I tried this one, but I got an error right when installing the libraries... Because I know no one is going to build it for me, can someone suggests a step by step tutorial? (I have amateur Linux skills, I'm not any pro, but not any noob)
You can find LineageOS/AOKP/RR for ZE500KL here. here
Make sure you get the Z00ED version.

Well, I found that post but didn't notice there was an "Z00ED" in the title... By the way, some steps would be good to install it, because if I brick this, I'm dead... I know the steps, but making sure of them would be great...

You unlock the bootloader then you flash TWRP.. After that you wipe DATA/CACHE/DALVICK CACHE and you flash your ROM and GAPPS (ARM64).

So, if something go wrong in the process, I would just need to do the exact same process but with the stock ROM right?
Make sure your bootloader is unlocked before flashing twrp, go to fastboot and type this
fastboot oem device-info
if you see this -->> (bootloader)Device unlocked: true
then you are unlocked, then proceed to flash your device twrp latest version.

You need to flash the stock recovery and then flash the stock ROM. There are plenty of tutorials on XDA to help you with that so don't worry.. You can find more in the General section of this forum

The second on (androidfilehost)
Before installing make sure you are on Android 6.0 and you unlocked your bootloader using the official unlock: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/ZenFone/ZE500KL/0518-1134_SIGNED_UnlockTool_ZE500KL_AndroidM.apk

Just 2 more things I wanna make sure:
1. Do I need to root to flash LineageOS?
2. On that LineageOS post, what is the AOKP? xD I already checked the website but I didn't get what it is, and if it comes with the ROM...
You dont need to root because the rom is already pre rooted. But you can change root to SuperSU or PHH Superuser if you want.
AOKP are custom ROM developers/modders.

1: you don't need to root
2: AOKP is a custom ROM based on CyanogenMod/LineageOs but with extra features (Like Resurrection Remix has)

[Q][STOCK] Downgrade to sprint Stock

Hi,
I've found the following (SPERRY_SPRINT_7.1.1_NCQ26.69-48_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip) stock ROM on firmwarecenter. But it's not a usual ROM, I can't flash the zip with TWRP as usual.
Do you guys have any link to the Sprint stock ROM ? Or any tutorial to explain how to flash a ROM like this one ?
Thank you,
Djokx
Unpack the zip file first and use fastboot for flashing whole firmware by using fastboot commands. Ex: fastboot flash boot boot.img

They don't typically make stock firmware for flashing in custom recovery. Unzip, rename files from .xml to .img and install with fastboot.

This is largely true, with a few notable exceptions. Wileyfox, for instance. From personal experience.

Nothing bad. Someone mentioned you making stock flashable zips. And here you made one. Right on dude.

My Zuk Z1 has died (it's always rebooting and I've already done every type of wipe)

Hey guys. My Zuk Z1 is always restarting. I've tried everything I could think: tried every type of wipe, tried to let it discharge, etc. etc.
What should I do? I was thinking to install a ROM (which one do you recommend to me) or to flash the original firmware (that by the way is what I've installed at the moment on my phone) with Odin.
In case I should install a ROM, could you tell me if there will be in the future the possibility of flashing the original firmware with Odin so that I can take advantage of the warranty? Thanks.

Thank you. But.. is there a way to flash the original firmware? I'm going to send my smartphone to customer service so I can use the warranty and get it repaired and I'm afraid they won't repair it if I have a custom ROM (as I've always knew that you lose the warranty if you don't have the original firmware).
