Change ringtone Wear OS - Wear OS Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Good afternoon,
Problem when adding ringtone to OPPO Watch. If you add them to the /sdcard/Ringtones/ category and after restarting the watch, they are displayed in the "Settings-Sound-Ringtone of the watch". The ringtone can be listened to and selected as a ringtone. However, during a test call to the clock, instead of the ringtone, a system sound similar to the sound of an error plays. And if you make a test call through "Find a device", then the ringtone works.
I tried to add a ringtone via ADB to the root of the system, where the standard ringtones are located. But, when copying, it gives an error. Through the file manager, when copying, the ringtone is not saved. Perhaps this is due to the restriction of rights. You need root rights.
Please tell me someone was able to deal with this problem?
Thank you!

Cant use own WAVS for text messages?

As far as I can tell, we are limited to using the in built message tones?
I can add new ringtones, and they appear when changing my ringtone, but when I try to change the message tone, the newly added WAV ringtones do not appear in the list, I am stuck with the preset crap.
I have a few I really want to use too.
If I am doing something wrong please let me know.
Put the WAV files in \windows\ main folder... It should appear in your message tones list...
Can't do it still, I've put it in the top windows level as well as the rings folder and still wont show up, I am so bored with the crap defaults!
sigh
Ummm :?: ... Try running the Add Ring Tone applet from the \Start\Setting\System\... Hope this helps as I am using my own customised WAV files for SMS tones on my O2 mini without any problems...
oh :?
ive tried adding the ringtone with the application, it appears in the ringtone list but will not appear in the list for sms tones.
arghhhhhh

Managing sounds and notifications

Is there any way of making my magician play my normal message tone, but shutup when I open it? (I have a long message tone - and I want to keep it) also would like to know if there is a fix for stopping full message alerts when in a call, and maybe change for a discreet tone.
message alert tone
Soory to other you but nobody is answering my blog, and you seem to have solved my problem. When i try to change my message alert tone ,hte only options i am given are the default message alerts, ive tried copying tones into the windows ring folder but still only get default tonesthe previuos process works fine for my ring tone, can you help?
Your notifications have to be in wav format. Or they will not work.
-This goes into the /windows folder
Ringtones can be in midi/wav or mp3 format
-This goes to the /windows/ringtones
Here are some wav files I made which you can try out
Free Female Voice Wav Alerts

Thanx for your speedy reply, cant look at link till work unblocks internet at break time but i`ll check them out, is there any way of converting my current message alert tones that i cant use to wav

Custom sms sound problem

Hi!
Trying to add my own custom made mp3 as a sound for incoming sms, but the damn thing doesnt show in the list of sound files, I even put it in the exact same directory as all the others and tried converting to wav and wma.
Thoughts?
When you say 'the same directory as all the others', where are you talking about?
Because message tones don't go in the same folder as ringtones.
Well I tried both the folder in windows directory which contains both ringtones and alert-type sounds and the dir named "my ringtones". The custom sounds all appear when selecting a new ringtone, but not when selecting the sms, mms, etc.
Convert your file to .wav and store it in the windows folder.
Thanks pdafuzzi. That did it.
custom sms tone problem
i cant get my custom sms tones to work...i go into ifile and check them and they work fine in there when u go to settings n try sounds theres no sound? anyone know why?

how do i change message ringtone to mp3?

how do i change message ringtone to mp3? someone help me plssssssss!
hey
just put the .mp3 in the documents folder on your phone
you should have a My Documents\My Ringtones (preferred) or there is a Windows\Rings, either one will do.
then go to settings, sounds, notifications tab, from Event: drop down select Phone: Incoming call.

the Q is for atext message not an incoming call..
So this won't help.
As far as i now, you cannot use an mp3 for this.
change it into a WAV frmat and it will work.
it might be possible you need to put it in a special location (such as the windows folder or the my documents folder)
Yeah it's possible,
either do as gazzacbr said, but choose "Messaging: New text message" you can change almost all the phones sounds here...
I preffer this easier way (for me)
Slide to settings > Press Sounds > Scroll to bottom for "Notification Sounds" > Press the notification you want to change and select it off the list
If the mp3 isnt listed then use the FileManager, find your mp3 and hold down on it, when the menu appears scroll down to "Set as Ringtone" which actually just puts it in on the list of selectable tones. Then simply repeat the steps above.
- I should probably note, I downloaded an update off HTC's website that had something to do with MP3 ringtones but I could initially do this beforehand anyway.

I can't find it... can you please put it here?
He said he wants a mp3 to be used as a new text message tone. this is something even i wanted to ask, but well it cant be done. tried everything. the patch is for something else. tried putting it into my ring tones folder, tried putting the mp3 (a 26sec file) into windows ring folder but na nothing, restarted still nothing. the only thing i think will work is to try converting it into .wav format.
@rvrosa its there in touch2 support.
it can be done. i currently use a MP3 file as my SMS alert, and a different MP3 as my email alert.
If my previous technique doesnt work, copy the desired MP3 to the root of your microSD card. It will automatically list it in the selectable ringtones
under mobile device go into the folder that says application data then the folder that says sounds, put the mp3 in there and you should be able to select it for your sms.

Rooting has nothing to do with ringtones .
reset the ringtone and check the ringtone you want to use is on the phone .
jje
Yes, I checked all the ringtone files and they do exist. Is there anything I can check? How do I go about rectify the problem?
Thanks & regards

Solved
I've solved the issue. When you are about set the ringtones for a Contact you're prompted to choose from the following:
Default Ringtone
Select sound from My files
Phone ringtone
I used to choose "Select sound from My files" & browse to the media folder & would select the mp3 ringtone. On selection, the contact's ringtone field's content will be "ringtone_name.mp3". This way of setting the ringtone wasn't working (Don't know why).
The solution was to choose "Phone ringtone" to set the ringtone instead. On selection, the contact's Ringtone field content will be "ringtone_name" (instead of "ringtone_name.mp3").
So, if anyone has trouble setting the contact ringtone, make sure you check with this procedure. If "Phone ringtone" option isn't displaying the ringtone you want, copy the ringtone to "/sdcard/media" folder.
Other thing you need to lookout for is the space in the phone number. For example, +xx<space>xxxxxxxxxx. Remove the space so it will be in the format +xxxxxxxxxxxx.
Do anyone know why it doesn't work when I choose "Select sound from My files"?
Hope this will be helpful.
