I'm about to buy this TV is it rootable?
Hisense 43A6H Google tv rootable?
Technically speaking anything that runs on android can achieve root access. But I think you’re asking if there’s active development. I recently bought a Hisense 65” U6h myself, and there is no development that I have found . If all you need is root, try to get your hands on the stock boot.img from the factory rom. If there’s any updates for your model download it on the computer extract the boot.img and then copy it to a usb drive plug the drive into your tv install magisk apk and use the boot.img on the flash drive to do the patch. Would you mind if I ask what you are trying to accomplish with root access?
well I'm actually trying to remove system apps the easy way by using Mi Explorer and improve system performance and free up some internal storage space so I have enough room to play morrowind by the way sorry for the no spaces I'm not really sure how to use this remote control microphone on my Hisense 43a6h Google TV. honestly there's a lot more stuff I want to do with it as well though like using Viper for Android and among other things like my God VPN repeater hotspot. thanks

Hey. I’m so sorry about the delayed reply I haven’t been on the forum too often lately. I’m not too familiar with the pkg compression personally. If you were able to pull that boot.img you should be able to just use that in magisk as the boot image to patch. I’ll log in my computer soon and try to download it and see what happens on my Linux system. How did you get that firmware file from them, what did you ask? I might just end up doing the same lol. I have been using adb to remove things such as google tv home launcher replaced with premium projectivy

Mine is the U6h but is essentially the same. For these purposes at least. The main difference between the two is a different type of panel .
I wonder if you have the blinking power light issue like I do after using adb to fully remove google home launcher. I took a sharp knife and one of those square rubber feet for furniture and cut it down to size and put it on top of that light. I’d rather do that than have the stock launcher even having a chance of re installing itself
Wow cool which launcher are you using? Whats the stock launcher filename? I'm going to try to unlock the bootloader soon then I guess I'll learn how to dump the whole os and dump the boot.img I guess idk what im doing but ive done this before with mtk devices just not a tv.

yeah dumping/compiling is above my skill set. The launcher I use is Projectivy. I paid for the premium version to support the dev because I really like it, but the only feature premium adds is being able to choose a wallpaper from storage. Also the package name is going to always be listed below the name of the app when you are in settings>apps> highlighted app...... google tv launcher I removed with adb shell and command adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.tv.launcherx if you end up disabling the google launcher I highly recommend also disabling set up wizard afterwards. Otherwise, the app will re-download and you will be playing whack a mole.
I just tried disabling the launcherx and it disabled the SETTINGS button on the remote which is a deal breaker. How do I fix this? I like using Nova Launcher instead of the stock launcher.
Hello good sir.
@TheMadScientist Hello good day mate. ;p So do u know how to get this working on google tv? I disabled the launcherx and it disabled the settings menu as well.
Thanks

Not really. When I looked into them was when they really started hitting the market. I had one of the 55 inch. But got rid of it pretty quick once I got my samsung
@TheMadScientist I plugged in my male to male usb and it never got detected plus sp flash tool i had isnt compatible with MT9612 MEDIATEK CHIP. Can u give some android 11 usb adb google tv advice? Is the mt9612 emmc or nand?

Thanks for the good feedback Urabewe

This is amazing! Definitely a great replacement for the original ADB where I always forget commands.
You should have an option to start an emulator where you specify a device name and press start. The original way to start an emulator is going to (sdk folder)/tools and typing "emulator -avd (emulator name)"

Just want to say thank you for this as I haven't ever used adb before this made it very easy. I recently broke my samsung captivate's digitizer but the phone would power on still but you couldn't do anything, luckily I had debugging on. This program was able to save everything that I had on my internal memory and pull it to my computer. I just want to say a big thank you for this program.
Edit: I know its not much, wish I could have done more but hope this helps some what as you have helped me

EDIT:
Next update coming this weekend will fix an important bug (The program isn't running as administrator), and a ZIP Flasher bug. Also it will come with a GPS Fixer related to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1233359 implemented using the Zip Flasher.

Well that's really strange...can anyone tell me if they're also having this problem??
Sorry for that, though it doesn't happen to me, I'll fix it.
I will enable resizing on the next update and will implement a save option to save your default size so this doesn't happen.
I'll release a mini update in some hours to fix your problem ASAP.
Anyways, some news... The next update will come with a VNC client so you can control your phone with the computer or see the screen of it.
I have many ideas but my programming skills are somewhat limiting me. I'll probably figure out how to do it so expect some cool new features on future releases.

Well right now with the zip flasher tool you can flash a CWM flashable zip
But I think you're talking about fastboot right? Does that work for all devices? because I think that Samsung's captivate, which is the device I have isn't compatible with that, but i'm not sure about that. If it isn't that might be difficult because I have no way of testing it. I will anyways try to look on how fastboot works and will try to integrate it in a test release.

Yep. I would suggest 2 things. Get the uid, then flash a full update rom to 3.2. Then ota it to ics. Am mobile now, so you get the ball maverick!
Those demo roms are missing half the stuff. Not sure whether he has ext sd card access. Might have to euu him. Hence uid.

Well we will try and keep things simple for you, which isn't easy with this particular android device but the very first thing you should do is to retrieve your CPUID. This is imperative. If anything ever goes wrong this CPUID is needed to help you unbrick.
First we need to set up your PC to be able to communicate with your tab, so we need some drivers. This whole process works best with win7/vista/xp so if you are doing this on win8 you may have some issues. In saying that, if you're a Linux user, then thats even better, so please say if you are we can bypass a heap of stuff!!!
Head over to Acer Support and download the Acer drivers here Run the .exe to install
Download the usb drivers from here extract to a folder on your PC (desktop).
Once your drivers are installed check they are installed correctly.
1. Grab your micro usb cable and hook your tab to your PC (u should hear windows make the new hardware connected sound. Then you should see the 'new hardware wizard' attemp to install the Acer Drivers. Hopefully everything should install correctly.
2. Now on to test the usb/adb drivers. The files you extracted to your desktop. We aren't going to do anything as such with these, they just need to be on your system somewhere.
So, when you are ready.....right click the extracted folder (hold down shift key at the same time) You should see the context menu with an option to
"Open command window here..."
3. When the command opens type the following with no quote marks:
"adb devices" and then press enter.
4. You should see "List of devices attached....and a series of numbers/letters here like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
this is your magical CPUID! and it should have 15 characters - write this number down and guard it with your life!!!
5. If you don't see this window, it means your PC does not 'see' your tab.
Try a different micro usb cable and make sure the cable is firmly connected, try a different usb port on your PC.
Well, thats your first lesson of the day
Once the drivers are setup correctly, we can move on to getting your tab upgraded into some ICS/Jellybean goodness!
Good luck with lesson 1, ya got any probs or u don't understand something, just ask
dibb

Not that I am aware of. Gonna need a PC with windows XP or 7. Mainly because most of the apps we use are windows based. And I wouldn't trust a windows emulator. Also, acer drivers install is windows based.
Do you have access to your external SD card? Will need to know.
The demo unit is the same as a regular 500. All the same hardware. The difference is the ROM they install. If you have access to your external SD card, it will make the process a little easier. Basically just put a full update rom on it, and reboot it via recovery.
But.... UID number we must have, just in case things go south as dibb said.
So check access to external sd card. You can do this by going to Settings>Storage and check.
Don't worry, we've done a couple of demo units in the past.

I told you we have dealt with Demo units in the past.
Go to;

You;ll need to read the posts....
Install the old Iconiaroot apk
Install Acer Recovery and let it install a CWM (custom recovery). Probably the oldest version.
After it's done, Flash a version 3.1 ROM
Let it OTA all the way to ICS
This of course is just another option. This is the old original way before version 3.2.

Well, that figures..demo unit... EUU time.
Basically, you are going to need a windows PC with the acer drivers installed. The whole process will take about an hour, so make sure your tablet is charged fully.
Get the following files;
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1816560 scroll down to the EUU, and click the box "show content". Select the torrentz file. Yes, it's torrentz, so you will need a torrentz app installed on the PC. If you don't want to deal with torrentz, let me know, and I'll check my drives nd see if I have the package.
2. go here;
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1624645
Go to the bottom, and download the "usbdeview". There are 2. 1 for 32 bit windows, and 1 for 64 bit windows.
Extract both of those above packages to a folder on your pc.
Now, make sure on your tablet, you have USB Debugging set to ON (look in your System Settings, as I can't remember exactly where on HC 3.0). Connect yer tablet to PC and make sure you have no errors. If everything is good, unplug, and plug it back in a few times just to be sure.
Now, with tab connected, run the USBdeview app you extracted. Should give you a long set of numbers and letters. Write them down, or save in Notepad. This is your UID. You can close the app
Next, with tab still connected, run the EUU executable you extracted. Just follow the steps exactly as they say. This may take awhile. It'll probably ask for that UID number at some point.
When it's all finished, you should have to restart the tab, and the first boot will be somewhat long (10+ minutes or so). But it should boot into a fully working 3.0 HC. Which is crap by the way . You'll need to OTA, or contact us for advice.
Good luck.
MD

try this EUU it will upgrade you to HC3.2.1 - its pre-rooted and will give you a custom recovery as well. Theres a readme with instructions included in the zip. As with any EUU you will need your cpuid to use it but usbdeview is also in there.
while you are waiting for this to download try rooting your current rom with this then install this .apk and you will be able to install a custom recovery. Once you are in recovery, the main screen will display yr cpuid too.
READ THIS FIRST:After downloading "oxygenos_1.0.0.zip" you will notice that it contains a folder with two files:
oxygenos_1.0.0_flashable.md5
oxygenos_1.0.0_flashable.zip
Extract oxygenos_1.0.0_flashable.zip first, then copy it to the SD card, wipe, flash, etc.
MultiROM works!

Installation steps:
Please make sure all your data and files are backed up before commencing. Flashing OxygenOS onto CM does require a system wipe, so you will lose all of your data. We are actively working on an easier, more automated solution soon to be available, but for now the build must be flashed manually.
Please proceed only if you are confident in your abilities to flash a custom ROM. This guide exists to help you flash OxygenOS, but things can still go wrong if not followed correctly. While rooting and flashing will not void your OnePlus warranty, any damage caused by improper flashing is not covered under warranty.
The following instructions assume you have Fastboot and ADB installed.
Step 1
You first need to flash a recovery onto your device. We recommend using TWRP. Please download the recovery image to your computer. You can follow their instructions to flash recovery, or you can reference these steps:
Boot into fastboot mode. You can do this on your OnePlus One by holding down the power button and the volume up button. When you see the fastboot logo, connect your device to your computer.
In your terminal window, find the folder where you put the recovery image and run the following commands:
fastboot oem unlock (You can skip this step if your phone’s bootloader is already unlocked).
fastboot flash recovery <recovery.img>. Image file should be the TWRP recovery image.
fastboot reboot
You should now have the recovery installed.
Step 2
Copy oxygenos_1.0.0.flashable.zip to your phone. On a Mac, you can use Android File Transfer.
Step 3
Boot into recovery. You can do this on your OnePlus One by holding down both the volume down key and the power button.
Step 4
Once you are in the recovery interface, the first thing you want to do is a factory reset. Again, you will lose all your data so please make sure you have backed up everything before doing this.
Step 5
After the wipe, go to install and find oxygenos_1.0.0.flashable.zip. Confirm flash. This will flash OxygenOS onto your device.
Step 6
After the flash succeeds, you can reboot the device, which will take you to the new OxygenOS. Enjoy!
If you find yourself wanting to rollback to CM, Make sure you have TWRP or CM recovery on the device. Another factory reset will be needed before flashing unfortunately so make sure you backup all of you data.

Did you extract the zip? There is a flashable zip in the zip you downloaded.
There is a zip inside downloaded zip! Flash that.
The LeTV LeEco Le 1 Pro is an excellent phone that comes at a very low price. Some retailers are selling the phone for approx. £150. However, the phone does come with a few problems.
The phone comes bundled with an old YouTube app which refuses to update to the latest version. The phone has malware where apps are installed in the background and ads are served in the Chrome browser.
At the time of writing there was no official ROM available. Now a official ROM has been released. It can be found in this post. Installing the official ROM is the easiest way to fix the malware and app problems with the phone.
The TrustGo App from the Google Play store pointed out that the Ant Keyboard bundled app contained the malware. The YouTube problem can be fixed by uninstalling the bundled YouTube and installing the latest YouTube from the Google Play Store.
The phone had to be rooted to remove the YouTube and the malware app Ant Keyboard.
The following instructions will root the LeTV Le 1 Pro USA version only. However, rooting can brick your phone, so if you do go ahead it will be your responsiblity. Rooting also invalidates the warranty of the phone. You will also be able to unroot your phone at a later date and reinstate your warranty.
The following assumes that you are using Windows 10.
Rooting the LeTV Le 1 Pro USA Version
Install TWRP
TWRP will allow to root the phone. First it needs to be installed.
In order to install TWRP, you need to connect the phone to the PC
Lets prepare the PC before we connect it
Install Java JDK 8 using Chocolatey
Open an administrator command prompt
Type cmd in the search, right click Command Prompt and choose Run as administrator.
Copy and paste the following code into the administrative command prompt window to install chocolately
@powershell -NoProfile -ExecutionPolicy Bypass -Command "iex ((new-object net.webclient).DownloadString('https://chocolatey.org/install.ps1'))" && SET PATH=%PATH%;%ALLUSERSPROFILE%\chocolatey\bin
Install and configure JDK 8 by pasting the following code into the administrative command prompt window.choco install jdk8
Download, install and configure android studio using the defaults in the setup
Download Android Studio
Launch setup and accept the defaults
In the final screen select lanuch Android Studio and then finish
Choose the configure dropdown and then choose SDK manager

}
In the SDK manager, check the Google USB Driver from the SDK Tools tab and choose OK
android sdk manager google usb driver
Close the administrative command prompt and then open a new administrative command prompt and type adb. You should see the adb command returning help. This means that adb driver is installed and ready to go.
Download the latest version of TWRP onto the PC using this link
Rename the downloaded file to recovery.img
Now it is time to prepare the phone before we connect it to our already prepared PC. If your phone does not boot into android then you can skip the whole of this #4 section and move on to #5 (TWRP) section below.
Go to settings and then about on your phone. Unlock developer options by touching the build number several times.
Android : Settings -> About
Go to settings, developer options and enable USB debugging
http://i0.wp.com/showtop.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screenshot_2016-07-11-14-22-04.jpg?resize=900%2C1600[IMG/]
Android enable USB debugging
In the notification bar click on touch for USB options and ensure that MTP is selected
[IMG]http://i1.wp.com/showtop.info/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Screenshot_2016-07-11-15-16-45.jpg?resize=900%2C1600
Android USB Options
Connect the phone to the PC
In an administrative prompt check the phone is connected correctly by typing
adb devices
You should see a device under adb devices
Download SuperSU and use the file manager to put in the root directory of the phone
Lets flash TWRP into the phone. You should not lose any data, but if you have data on the phone you should make a backup just in case.
We need to boot into fastboot. On the PC, open an administrative command prompt and type
adb reboot bootloader
If your device does not boot into android, you can go into fastboot by switching off your phone, hold the down volume key and then press the power button.
Once in fastboot you should see a small picture of a penguin in the middle of the screen. To check that the phone is connected, in the administrative command prompt type
fastboot devices
You should see your device listed
In the administrative command prompt make sure you are in the directory of the recovery.img file and type the following
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Once the recovery is flashed type the following and hold the up volume key to restart in recovery
fastboot reboot
You should now be in TWRP. In TWRP there may be an option advanced or settings to install SuperSU. If the option is not there use install to install SuperSU (downloaded earlier) from the root of the phone storage.
Once installed you can reboot into android and following the instructions in the SuperSU app.
Once the installation is complete download the RootChecker app from the Google Play store and check if the device has been rooted.
Fixing the problems with YouTube and removing the malware
Install Easy Uninstaller, Stubborn Trojan Killer and Malwarebytes Anti-Virus from the Google Play Store.
Uninstall YouTube and Ant Keyboard. I uninstalled Cantonese Keyboard Language and Mii Browser as well as I was not using these. If you start getting errors, simply reboot your device.
Download and install the YouTube app from the Google Play Store.
Run the Stubborn Trojan Killer and remove any found trojans.
Run the Malwarebytes Anti-Virus and remove any found viruses. Run the privacy scanner and follow the recommendations.
Once you have successfully completed the above steps then your device should be malware free and completely usable.
Very nice job. Newbies friendly rooting guide. I think you must add another option in the poll : CM12.1 cooked by Betahydri. It's a fully functional ROM (only IR remote and DT2W don't work yet) for everyday use.

If you see CE0560 In the back of the phone, that means you have the international version.
For the TWRP, download Le1Pro_US_TWRP_3.0.2-0_CUOCO92.7z
For Root, download SuperSu-V2.76
Thank you very much. Mine does have that on the rear. This is my second le1 pro the first I hate bricked trying to root it and install recovery. So I have been scared to try this one without knowing which model it is. Do you know if there is a custom ROM or even better asop or CM room available for the international version.
Thanks for your help.

You can fix your first bricked phone from HERE.
To be honest, I have tried only two Roms
1- Clean Stock Rom, it's clean of all malwares and virus that came with the Chinese resellers Rom, its very stable, good battery life. only the double tape to wake up & color mod doesn't work, but easy to fix HERE, (IMPORTANT you need to have Stock recovery to flash the Clean Rom or to modify a file in the Zip archive of the Rom to work with TWRP).
2- CM12.1 ROM by BetaHydri, a great Rom very stable only Ir Blaster doesn't work for now. The best choice so far.
3- Other Roms CUOCO92 5.5.014S but I have never used it.
Thank you so much, worked a treat.
Now I have TWRP, CM and super su.
Thanks for all your efforts.
You should also try betahydri CM 12.1 I have it on my phone for about 3 months and runs great , no bugs , and the battery performance is the same.
Hi.
After brick I've rescued my letv le1 x800 Pro US and I flash Cuoco92 rom. I used this rom and it works very fine. XD XD
Maybe I am not looking well enough, but I did not see the TWRP link in your post.
Next to that I installed the Android Studio. But the SDK tabs in the SDK section are disabled with me. It also says that "Android SDK location should not contain whitespace, as this can cause problems with the NDK tool" as a warning. Could this be related to the fact that the tabs are disabled?
the only way to root this phone is by cuocco92 method, there is no other way
I spent the better part of 4 hours today setting up the connection between my new ATOTO S8 Pro and my laptop. After getting USB debugging working, and a functional adb shell, I pulled off everything that I could copy with the limited permissions I had.
To be clear, I have NOT rooted the headunit. I'm a little leery about doing it, as I don't want to break anything, and as of right now, there is no way to restore the headunit back to factory like you would with, say, a Pixel phone.
BUT, for those of you who are curious here is my compressed system dump (or rather, adb pull) of everything I could get my hands on while in a factory state.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/13llpDmcNc5pyKbOIePn1hdDYxXd5iPeP/view?usp=sharing
INTERESTING TIDBITS:
* There is a "fastboot mode". Accessed by the usual "adb reboot fastboot" (still seeing what I can do with it)
* After around 6m 30s, fastboot mode will automatically reboot the unit back into the OS. Fastboot activity MAY reset the idle timer, not sure yet.
* There is NO "recovery mode". "adb reboot recovery" simply reboots the unit. May or may not be a recovery like most phones. Still digging.
* Seems the bootloader is unlockable. I have not done it though. You can activate the "bootloader unlock" option in developer options.
* To access Developer Options, you do the usual button mashing on "About", but to access the actual menu, you need a play store program that will take you directly to it.
* The ONLY USB connection that USB debugging works on is USB1 --> Phone Link. For it to work, you need to change the "computer connection" to whatever the SECOND option is (I'm not translating it)
* File down the very end, outer part of the wire harness clip, and it will go in all the way and latch like it's supposed it. Just needs to clear the casing by 1/16" or less. EASY FIX!
If I find any more interesting things while I have this, I'll update the information here. If YOU decide to root yours, let me know how it goes. I don't have another $340 to spare to buy another one. I'm poor. lol
Subscribed. Thanks for reporting that adb can be done via the second usb connection menu option. I had given up not long ago but changed that last night and it did the trick.

It was like the second thing I tried.
Doing some more probing in a few minutes. Going to see if there is a recovery mode that can be accessed.
So it looks like, if I'm reading things right, there is no root for Oreo using a "One-Click" method. I would have to have access to TWRP, CWM recovery, or something to flash SuperSU. Unless I'm forgetting a method....
When it comes to rooting, I am a consumer so excuse my ignorance. In the file dump does it have the boot.img? If so, is this anything helpful: https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software-hacking/root-recovery-root-device-magisk-t3779454 ?
Silly/stupid question. I just connected my S8 Ultra up to my car this weekend. Do you use a double-ended USB-A to USB-A cable to connect to use ADB? Or is there another connection that I missed?

I used a usb A to usb C as my laptop had the C port. I tried a usb A male to male adapter and that didn't work but it may have been the adapter. A true A to A male cable may work. Just make sure you change the usb setting in the menu of Developer tools.
If you don't know this already, you can access OEM settings on the ATOTO unit this way:
Settings>System, click this option four times continually>input 3368, you will enter into the OEM Settings
It did work for me. I eliminated the split screen view on the back up camera through this hidden menu.
BTW, I was able to get to developer's options without a separate app and interestingly my unit came with developer's options already turned on.
It is also not a guarantee that you can unlock the bootloader just because the option appears in developer's mode. These units use a very customized version of Android & it seems some things are still in the settings, but only cosmetically, they don't actually do anything.
We you or anyone able to root this device?

I actually don't see the USB debugging options in the developer options. I did the 3368 thing but nothing in that menu looks anything close to USB debugging, ie same as my phone.
Without that, I don't know how to adb shell into the unit.

1. I can confirm that I flashed/updated the S8 Ultra using the Dropbox zip file above and after it reset Android, it did nothing but reset my google credentials. My apps were still there.
But it also didn't brick my S8 Ultra .
It has the similar files as the Joying zip file which has the same chipset.
After the flash, my phone asked to authorize the adb debugging, while connected to the head unit. I'll see if I can get the head unit to turn on adb debugging so I can root it.

Well I brought my Ouya back from the dead with LineageOS, converted a Chromebook to GalliumOS for pen testing, or it can connect to Ouyas using adb, or analyze a Lenovo Smartclock to try and add APK's to it before giving up (as others on XDA have also done).
But for this? I can't get ADB to see the head unit. Because there is no ADB Debugging in any of the menus (yes its has Dev Options enabled). No idea how others have done it. If I reboot into Recovery it might show up in "adb devices" command but if the device is simply on, there's nothing returned.

I use one of the Play Store apps to get into Developer options and it does show an ADB debugging option and most of the other choices available in a typical Developer's menu. The one I use is the first one that comes up in the search on play store, I think the author is Singlebyte.
