Just installed an idoing headunit on my 2019 WRX. Everything works great, but it seems to have issues saving my phone for Bluetooth. I can initally connect to my phone just fine, android auto wireless works great. But when I go to park my car for more than 10 minutes, it seems to lose my phone as a paired device. When this happens, it won't auto connect, and I have to click the "BT Reset" button in the bluetooth app settings to get my phone to show back up on the "Paired devices" list. Then I can connect to it. Whats weird is if I turn my car off and turn it back on within a couple of minutes, it doesn't lose my phone as a paired device and auto connects. Seems to happen when the car is parked and the head unit is off for more than 10 minutes. Anyone had this issue and have any tips? Thanks

I've had issues with Bluetooth since I bought this phone, over a number of different ROMs and kernels. Basically it refuses to connect to my car at random. Sometime it connects fine, sometimes I have to power cycle it to get it to connect. I recently started playing with Tasker and noticed something strange. Tasker is actually registering a Bluetooth connect and immediate disconnect every 11 seconds. The Bluetooth icon never changes to blue, however.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is there a log I can check that will give me more details on why it's not staying connected for more than a split second?

Have you tried other bluetooth devices to your phone other than your car? If yes, then it's the phone, if not, then it's the car. If it is the car, is there a way to "update" the bluetooth drivers on it? Is it a VW or BMW?

I actually don't have any other bluetooth devices to test it with. My Galaxy Nexus connects just fine to it though. It's a Logitech Liquid Aux device.
I had the Note 3 and it interfaced very well with my 2013 Subaru Impreza stereo. The Note 4, however, will initially connect but after turning the stereo off, then back on, it will not auto reconnect. The same behavior happens when the car is turned off and on.
I must tap the stereo in the BT app to get it to reconnect and sometimes I have to turn on the phone "visibility" to get the connection to happen.
So, that means no BT phone unless I'm already listening to a BT source.
I think it is related to the newer BT stack and its low power modes.
Anyone else seen this BT behavior?
Yes, I am seeing similar behavior. My Bluetooth tends to disconnect at times, seemingly at random as well.
Also very frustrating is the fact that I can not just enter my car and have the Bluetooth auto connect. I have to open the bluetooth page and select my car from the list of devices manually. This seems primative. If there is a way to change this can someone please post it?
I've started using Tasker and it has saved my bacon. Works like a charm. I've even used it to automate turning on Slacker when I get in the car.... So, a work around...
I have no problem whatsoever while connecting to my Dodge Charger 2014 ..every time i get in the car the Note 4 auto connects... i have the viisbility timeout set to Never..
My Turbo 2 doesn't auto connect to the two BT audio devices I have (car stereo and motorola buds). It auto-connects to my Pebble fine, but I have to manually connect to the buds and the stereo each time I use them.
I can't seem to find a setting for making them autoconnect, but I could be missing something. Any tricks to get it to auto connect like my old Moto X would?
That happened to me with this phone and my car stereo. What I did to fix it (by accident) was wait until my car stereo was attempting to connect to the bluetooth and then turn the bluetooth on my phone off and then right back on. It connected right away and auto connects whenever I use my car stereo. Give it a shot.
I do know if u don't set as a trusted device it won't auto connect on mine.

I didn't expect that to work, but it did.
:good:
Noticed with Sync (Ford) it sometimes pauses and I have to turn BT off then on.
UPDATE: Turn off all the moto assist stuff, no more problems.
Hi, I have a head-unit with android 12 and I need to connect the car stereo bluetooth to them.
The problem is that disconnects every time I try to connect.
I do:
Reset bluetooth app
Unpair, pair etc etc
No setting for pairing mode in the head unit (passkey/numeric comparision).
Modified all options under deveolpers setting without luck.
I can connect phone or tablet (with a code), so I think that he cant pair with devices without screen.
is there anybody experiencing the same?
Edit: So I think that the headunit has a sink bluetooth and they can't send sound like the phone, is that correct?
What solution has this?
I bought an Android screen for my Mercedes that came with Zlink5 installed. My iPhone 13 automatically connects wirelessly to Carplay with no issues. The problem I'm having is with my wife's iPhone 13. When she gets in the car by herself with her phone it never connects to Carplay. If I go through the pairing again with her phone, then it connects with no issues. The problem with that is that the next time I get in the car by myself then my phone doesn't connect. I tried solving the issue with the seller but they are based in China and there's a language barrier there. The seller thinks I'm trying to connect both phones at the same time as if both phones are in the car at the same time. I've explained it 50 different ways and he still thinks I'm connecting both phones at once.
How exactly does Zlink work? Does it need a Bluetooth connection or does it connect through Wifi? Our phones won't connect until we pair the phones to the screen's BT first and then Zlink connects. If I don't pair the BT then Zlink never connects.
